Gotcha! I'm in no hurry cause I'm just chilling till the next table with this group. Thanks for the update!

It is interesting to see how different tables vary in their approaches - the last time I ran this, the first person to act 'Leeroy Jenkins'ed' the encounter, charging forward; they were promptly swarmed by all of the enemies, and the rest of the party had to fight hard to stop them being eaten by the horse...

Thorax, as a stereotypical Goblin, is terrified of horses.

Hit and run made the most sense.

Does the number of people searching affect the time at all? Common sense would say that four people could search a place faster than one, but the module might say otherwise.

Sovereign Court

Unfortunately, no :-/

PF2 Playtest Character

Are there Boon rolls for either of these games?

Sovereign Court

No - the change with PF2 is there are no more boons, per se - you just earn points for every game, which you will (eventually) be able to redeem on the website for boons (like the playtest boons)

PF2 Playtest Character

Oh. Weird. At the Convention where I played #1-00, they asked us to roll for Boons at the table.

Sovereign Court

Maybe they were PF1 boons?

PF2 Playtest Character

Perhaps. Nobody won one =(

Sovereign Court

Alright, so, the reporting system was finally updated to include PFS2 scenarios, so I have reported the session.

Links to chronicles have now been sent out via PM.

Thank you!

Thank you !

How does it go for the downtime between the first one and the one we are playing now?

Sovereign Court

The usual amount, as per the Guide.

Sovereign Court

Feel free to roll in the discussion thread, then.

I expect to start 1-04: Bandits of Immenwood within 24 hours.

Adalan? Bair? Deshacerla? Are you still interested?

I don't suppose you'll be running Quest#2?

I want to play it before Thorax levels out, and he'll hit 4 tonight.

Sovereign Court

@Thorax: I wasn't planning to, purely because it isn't part of the scenario subscription service, and I would have to buy it separately.

Also, I am running Bandits this weekend in meat-space, so I have already prepped it ;-)

The second quest is completely unrelated to the first, and is *not* re-playable (unlike Quest 1)...?

Sovereign Court

Alright, I have downloaded it, and taken a look.

Surprisingly, it could go extremely quickly (particularly with Thorax in the party), or be bogged down for a while.

If the rest of the party wants to do the Quest, I can run it.

PF2 Playtest Character

If I gift it to you, would you consider GMing it after Bandits? ^_^

You're by far one of my favorite PbP GMs.

It's not repeatable, but I'm worried that Thorax will permanently be stuck at an odd number of XP unless I finish 4 quests before he levels to 5.

PF2 Playtest Character

D'oh!

Chronicles for '1-03: Escaping the Grave' have now been sent out.

Sovereign Court

Alright, I am happy to run it after Bandits :-)

Sovereign Court

Bizarre fact: Running a party of 5 level 1's, and one level 4, under the new 'challenge point' system, means having to run high tier.

I am not sure how I feel about that...

Vigilant Seal

Familiar Stats:
HP 35 (-0) | AC 25 | F: +14 R: +12 W: +12 | Perc/Stealth +11; Low-Light/Darkvision

Missed the announcement, but I'm still up for joining the 4th scenario

Sovereign Court

No problem, Deshacerla - welcome aboard!

Post Escaping the Grave downtime roll:

Library Lore: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

I believe a failure is 1cp per day, so 8cp total.

Quick question: If I'm using fame to purchase a boon, where do I mark that on my chronicle sheet? Between the last scenario and this one I'd like to purchase the Grand Archive Champion boon for 4 fame, so I can slot it.

I am not sure how I feel about that...

How does my Combat Mentor Boon affect that?

(I have tried to make sense of the whole thing; I can't)

Vigilant Seal

N Male Goblin (Laborer) Barbarian 8 | Exploration Mode: Search (Perception +12) | HP 138 (-0) Temp 11 or 7 (+0), Falls -25 ft then halved) | AC 26, Sleeping 24 (rarely FF) | F/R/W +17/+13/+12 (3 Resist Evil, Feat vs. Fear/Sickness, Juggernaut, 1 Cold/Electr Res) | Perc +12 (Battle Cry, Darkvision) | Speed 30 | Hero Points: 1/1 (boon) | Active Conditions: NA

I don't have a clue about that either, but it doesn't appear to affect APL. I don't know what a "Level Bump" is and I've searched the entire players guide as well as I can. /shrug

Bair will be taking two Minor Healing potions as his school items for this session. He is not making any other purchases yet, but might if the briefing reveals certain things are necessary.

He will also be slotting and using the following boon for his downtime after the session. I'll go ahead and make the Earn Income roll here, once this has locked in after an hour.

☐ Society Connections (Downtime): Your connections with leaders within the Pathfinder Society help you find opportunities, both new missions and support for your other endeavors. Check the box that preceds this boon when you Earn Income during Downtime to attempt a task of level 3. If you critically fail the check, you still earn the result of the failure for that task.

Verdant Wheel

Male Dwarf Druid 12 (Storm Druid) / HP 178/178, Perc +21, AC 31 (+2 shield), Fort +21 Ref +19 Will +24 / Active conditions: Darkvision, Rock Dwarf, Resist cold and electricity 1, Mountain Stoutness

Downtime, earning income:

Craft, Specialty crafting skill feat (Stonemasonry): 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 1 = 23

So I write down 4 sp.

And I'm in for the next one (Bandits).

Vigilant Seal

N Male Goblin (Laborer) Barbarian 8 | Exploration Mode: Search (Perception +12) | HP 138 (-0) Temp 11 or 7 (+0), Falls -25 ft then halved) | AC 26, Sleeping 24 (rarely FF) | F/R/W +17/+13/+12 (3 Resist Evil, Feat vs. Fear/Sickness, Juggernaut, 1 Cold/Electr Res) | Perc +12 (Battle Cry, Darkvision) | Speed 30 | Hero Points: 1/1 (boon) | Active Conditions: NA

Lore - Laborer (T) lvl 3 task DC 18: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Lol, not even close. At least it is guaranteed to be a failure and can't be a crit failure*.

8cp x 8 days = 64 copper (6 silver & 4 copper)

*I don't know if a crit failure would have been on a 7 or an 8, anyone figure that out yet?

Envoy's Alliance

Human (Taldan) Cleric 11 / HP 138/138, Perc +20, AC 30, Fort +18 Ref +18 Will +24 / Spells 1st 3/3, 2d 3/3, 3d 3/3, 4th 3/3, 5th 3/3, 6th 2/2, heal 5/5, Focus 1/1 / Active conditions: Vital Beacon 4/4, Magic hands

Earning income.

Warfare Lore: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

I also write down 4 sp.

I'll play with pleasure if there is still a place. But I think it's full.

In your case, a crit failure would be an 8.

There is a very lengthy thread in the Rules Forum (I won't link it) where someone was trying (unsuccessfully) to argue that a crit failure was 11 less than the DC. I believe it was locked because of its silliness.

    Crit success: 28
    Success: 18
    Crit failure: 8

After digging around (and asking my local coordinator) it looks like all of the Level 1 PCs in this session would get:

Increase all of the PC's DCs by +1
Increase all attack modifiers and spell attack modifiers by +2
Increase all attack damage, spell damage, saving throws, skills, Perception, and ACs by +1
    Increase HP by +10

    Verdant Wheel

Male Dwarf Druid 12 (Storm Druid) / HP 178/178, Perc +21, AC 31 (+2 shield), Fort +21 Ref +19 Will +24 / Active conditions: Darkvision, Rock Dwarf, Resist cold and electricity 1, Mountain Stoutness

I will slot these boons for this one:

    Faction - Verdant Wheel
    Downtime - Society Connections
    Slotless - Engraved Wayfinder

    Verdant Wheel

Male Dwarf Druid 12 (Storm Druid) / HP 178/178, Perc +21, AC 31 (+2 shield), Fort +21 Ref +19 Will +24 / Active conditions: Darkvision, Rock Dwarf, Resist cold and electricity 1, Mountain Stoutness

How does it come from we should get all this good boons from Thorax for this one?

    PF2 Playtest Character

Thorax is a Combat Mentor, which increases your Level Bump on attack rolls and spell attack rolls by an additional +1.

It'll probably still be a tough scenario because all the enemies will be higher tier.
