Goblins infest a fallen Dwarven underground fortress and mine; somewhere inside PCs must find and recover a critical treasure hidden by the Dwarven Clerics of Dumathion.

with the light of a few burning lumps starged onfire by errant scorching rays; there is a the light of about a lantern as dried carcasees and webs burn with a flickering orange light; some glint of shiney metal and such can be seen in the lumps.

The battle finished; Gyldyr moves forward to assist Desisdera and free her from the webs; the Drow windes the webbing up like yarn manipulates with his dextrous elven fingers and he saves it in a pouch.
The black orc staggers a bit and sits down.
Male Gnome Sorcerer 3
Putting away his wand and drawing his dagger, Gloisil walks over to the nearest blob of spider silk as he says, "Well let's see if any of Mox's crew have survived, and then let's search the other cocoons and see if there is anything of use that these spiders have inadvertently collected."
Search: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Not finding anything interesting or living on his first attempt, Gloisil decides to be more methodical and careful in his search.
Takes 20 on his search for a total of 21.
Freeing herself from the webbing was difficult, even with the aid of the dagger she had drawn. Gloisil had almost finished looking around by the time she managed to extricate herself from the webbing. She joined him, doing what she could with what was on hand to help the survivors.

You find four goblins; all missing one toe more or less, they are poisoned and very wobbly on their feet, semi conscious. Desidera applies some balm and strong smelling salts and they become more alert in a few minutes.
Gloisil looking about find among the nearby husks; a carved and inscripted rod, a very ornatem, long silver dagger that glows yellow when Gloisil picks it up, 37 gold coins of imperial mint, 112 sliver coins of Celtic mint and one potion that wasn't used.
Male Gnome Sorcerer 3
Carefully laying out all the items he has found on the floor in front of him, Gloisil kneels in front of them and waving his hands over them as he softly chants.
Gloisil finalizes casting the spell saying, "... canfod hud" He then begins to examine the items one by one.
Gloisil casts Detect Magic and examines the items found. Any item that shows a magical aura, he will concentrate on for three rounds to try to determine as much as possible about each item. Let me know if I need to make any Spellcraft checks to determine the aura strength.
Gloisil will also try to read inscription on the rod.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD
the rod, dagger, and potion are magical; the rod yoiu cannot read as it is clerical in nature in a language you are not familair with; you think maybe Summarian. Dagger has elvish magical writting and seems attuned to you, the potion is labeled Giant Strength.

"this way" Harold moves off down the opposite hallway; down a chute, leaving the spiders and webs behind; various machines are at work near this access tube with doors and ladders Harold ignores.
the party comes to a opening in the machinists access tub that has catwalks that would be used to access some of the machinery for the lifts, it looks out to a breathtaking view of the center of the Dwarven Hold. Far below, hundreds of feet, are hundreds of fires and perhaps a thousand goblins, many scores of tribes that mostly keep to themselves in little groups; like a salad bar. The center of this area has a live flow of lava that heats the area, it has the look of molten iron. The the area itself is somewhat football shaped; the convex walls have many levels cut into them of houses; shops and such buildings. There are perhaps 20 levels to get to the bottom.
"this chute will lead us to a long ladder that can take us to the area of the temples to the dwarven gods; though these have been defamed and wrecked by the goblinoids; they avoid the area; that is perhaps the least dangerous way to get to where you desire...this way"
dm rolls wandering monster rolls.....nothing.
after a half hour it comes to you that this Hold is immense; once there must have been a lot of dwarves, once in ancient history, but now even 10,000 goblins can't be everywhere, with the size of this area its no wonder yoiu could walk for a half hour and see nothing or hear nothing but machinery and the sound of it. You get to a major accessway; a very large steel ladder going down; yoiu can see it passes many levels and is likely patroled at least a bit; looking up yoiu can see it also goes up farther than you can see. This access tunnel is dark, but glows a bit as some phosflorecent things show the way down for a hundred feet.
The party is tired, you probably want to rest before you start down, but it is up to you.
This is the end of one section; for completion; each person attains 3000 exps.
Male Gnome Sorcerer 3
Gloisil ponders over what these magical items could be, and then follows Harold as he leads them on through the tunnels.
Wisdom check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
"Desidera, this rod seems to contain some kind of divine magic, but of what kind, I know not. This potion might be of interest to our fine knight or the orc, as it grants the drinker increased strength. The dagger when I picked it up seemed to attune itself to me."
"The coins we can split up between us when next we rest."
Fem Elf Bard 3
After all the walking, and traipsing, and skipping, and wandering about even Sunset's exuberance begins to peter out. As the party comes to the top of another long climb, she sags and leans against the wall.
"Okeys, here seems t'be some where's safe. Whut say we shuck it in fer th' day an' call it a night?" She asks.
Am happy t' call a halt here. Also, happy t'be o last shift fer watch. (^_^)
Also, does th' XP mean we go up a level? (^_^)

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD
if it is enough to level it does, there are some caviates but they dont apply at this level
there are four doors nearby that yoiu could check out for a room to hold up in unless you want to stay out in the maintenance tunnel.
Gloisil; yoiu get hte idea that the dagger helps focus spell casting; so will add a bonus to any spell that requires a to hit roll.; the aura of the item tells a bit about its strength under magical sight; so blue is the weakest; yellow is stronger; so in game terms you would think this is +3 or 4 or such like that with maybe a special ability usually on an item like this it would be to lower the targets resistance; if yoiu could blood the target with this dagger it would likely cut throiugh any magic resistance; stuff like this; +6 is the max bonus for a yellow item with no other abilities; a blue item could be +1 or 2 or +1 with a minor ability. White being the strongest religated to very powerful relics and artifacts. Think of the color spectrum of blue purple as weakest; red as powerful; so yellow is in the middle. This is all basic mage knowledge; clerics have an idea of this as well though their detect magic doesnt work as well as the mage version; lore roll for bards could give this info as well.
Fem Elf Bard 3
Male Gnome Sorcerer 3
"Tis fine with me if we rest for awhile. We could check these doors up ahead and see if one would be suitable to rest in."
Desidera gave an emphatic nod to Gloisil, heartily agreeing with the idea of stopping and resting. She was exhausted, physically and mentally, and would love nothing more than to stop and collapse, getting the rest to alleviate the fatigue that had been building since they had made it across the walkway. The sheer scope of the area that they were in was awe-inspiring, and while they had a purpose, against what they had seen down there, they seemed really small and ineffective.
Still, she had to keep up hope. They had made it this far, and with luck, they would continue to be quiet and overlooked until they had attained their goal.. Oh, but that goal seemed so far away.
Fem Elf Bard 3
Sunset slouches against a wall and nods at Gloisil's suggestion/offer.
"You be careful." She asks her friend.
Fem Elf Bard 3
Sunset concentrates and moves her little floating light effect to help Gloisil in his endeavors.
Male Gnome Sorcerer 3
Gloisil moves towards the closest door and begins checking to see if it is suitable to rest in for awhile.
If the door to the room is shut, Gloisil checks to see if it is locked, if not he will carefully open it and look inside.
Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

The room has a damaged stone door set on hinges; scrapes along the floor with a grating sound that probably cant be heard more than 40' away.
This room is 20X20; once a store room; has a couple broken wooden crates; some old dried blood on the floor in two splotches. To one side is a skeletal hand, dwarf sized, with part of the forearm it was severed from.
in this room; it is a cool 55 degrees; cooler than the 70 degrees outside in the maintenance tube.

The Celtic Knight will report.
"During the night; a dwarven spirit briefly came into the room, it showed me a vision, I think it wanted us to come to the Dwarven Temple"
on First watch; am guessing probably Sunset; the floor shakes a bit and there is a bit of booming noise; but faint; doesnt wake anyone up.
Second watch was uneventful for whomever was on that watch if any.
Rested, what does the party do?
Fem Elf Bard 3
Come the 'morning' Sunset uses her 'prestidigitation' effect to help people clean themselves and their gear. Even using the magic to add a touch more flavor to whatever people are preparing for breakfast. (^_^)
All the while regaling people with the things she's seen and heard through the night.
"An' then! There were a 'BOOM" an' th' floor it did shake an' then there were a rumblin' noise an'..."
(^_^)
She does listen intently, her eyes growing large in amazement at the Knight's tale.
Male Gnome Sorcerer 3
"Sir Knight, that is good news indeed for now we have a definite destination."
Turning to Harold, Gloisil says, "Can you lead us to this temple location? As good the news is that our good knight has brought to us, the noise that Sunset heard, no matter how far away, leaves me with a sense of foreboding and a heightened sense of urgency."

It was difficult for Desidera to conduct her morning prayer in the dark as usual, but it somewhat depressed her that she was getting used to it. Still, she was happy to have gotten rest, and felt much better after that night of sleep (minus her watch, which was blessedly uneventful). Once her prayer was done, she did what she usually did, which was check on the injuries of everyone else, doing what she could to speed the healing process. (Sunset regain +4 HP, )
Once that was done, she gave Sunset a grin and a quiet thanks for helping with the gear cleaning and spread out her cloak, and doing what she could for breakfast, frowning slightly as she-- thanks to Apollo's mercies-- conjured up a very, very generous amount of fruits and breads that were topped with yogurt or cheese. It was a small touch of home that she was able to bring, enough to feed just about everyone. She also went about refilling their waterskins as well.
There was even enough water left over that she was able to splash Sunset playfully. That little bit of frivolity brought a genuine smile of momentary happiness from her, and compared to what they have been going through, lifted her spirits immensely. She set to with the others, happily explaining what the foods were and how they ate them at home. It was the most she had ever spoken freely since they were down here.
She was still wearing the necklace of pearls that they had found earlier, and she fingered it idly, wondering just what it was that they did.
Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD
Desidera; you have worn the pearls now long enough for it to activate; +4 wisdom; you notice as you gain more bonus spells while wearing it as applicable for such stat increase.

Harold nods; I know a few ways; none safe for your kind. I will show when you are ready master.
Fem Elf Bard 3
Sunset tilts her head at Harold's words,
"Here now, whut d'ye mean 'Your kind'? Whut other kinds are there be?" She asks.

Wrote a great post yesterday and thought all was well, but alas it seems that the post monster ate it, for it is not here on the thread.
Gloisil eating the fine breakfast that Desidera provided them and them allowing her to fill his water skin for the day's journey. He watches as Desidera laugh and splash water around... just a bit of a smile at the corner of his mouth.
As they finish their meal and get ready to leave, Gloisil sees Desidera fingering the pearl necklace, seemingly lost in thought. Wondering for a moment what she may be thinking, his thoughts turn to his newly acquired dagger, and then he knows what her thoughts are. Gloisil then pulls out the dagger and looks at it once again. Having some idea of what this dagger's capabilities are, but also knowing that the only way to tell for sure is to use it in combat, and that is something he would rather avoid at the moment.
Once everyone is ready to depart, Gloisil says, "Harold, if you would please, take us by the safest path of those you know. We realize that none are completely safe."
Fem Elf Bard 3
Sunset giggles and luaghs happily joining in Desidera's antics as the group gets ready for the new days encounters. Once every one is kitted up, she steps closer and slips an arm through Desidera's. Offering her friend a smile and squeeze of encouragement. (^_^)

Gloisil; I feel your pain; I loose every post it seems that I dont select the whole thing for copy before I submit.
-------
As you hold and examine and consider the dagger; your intuition and magical savy combined with the little you know of weapons provides you with some certainty that while this dagger could be used as a physical weapon; it it doesnt have the look or feel of any other dagger you have held. Your impression from the dagger is that it should be used when casting spells and somehow cut through a targets spell defense or spell resistance which might work well on demons and such. This dagger is better than masterly crafted and worked in minute detail all over its surface with tiny magical writing and glyph. The dagger is elven in nature, probably the work of some Elven Archmagus who probably spent years crafting this item. His name is probably in one of those glyphs.

Harold leads the party across the balcony where far below; hundreds if not thousands of goblins are ...well doing what goblins do but at least some are crafting. The discordant sound of hammers can be heard echoing in the vast chamber and the heat from the lava furnaces is like an oppressive wave on one side of your body while hte cool of the stone chills the other half.
The balcony leads to a gallery; once spectacular; with shafts drilled to bring in light filtered through amazingly cut lenses; red; blue; green; yellow; violet light spreds around the room like a prism to fall on crystaline deposits and such. This probably was once breathtaking before the goblins dumped sludge and filth on everything; despoiling most everything; but some light of various hues do come into the room and some things sparkle and glitter with a hint of once past glory.
From the gallery the party enters a residential area and broken signs and burned out buildings for scribes and clerks and other functionaries that keep the general flow of this and that required of big business, upkeep and city life. Jobs so boring, no wonder they had a gallery so close to cheer them up a bit. Dried blood seems everywhere and a huge ile of dwarven bones can be seen in the distance in teh areas central circle (which you won't need to travel through).Perhaps things lurk among these dwelling which go on for some time; but perhaps this area was even to boring for the goblins, more likely this are is now home to the dreaded "Fringers" those creatures that coexist alongside things like goblins as prey or predator.
Harold There is likely a checkpoint up ahead at an intersection, the goblins take turns guarding it; the various tribes, sometimes they forget; sometimes they sleep; sometimes there is an elite force; you never know what is there, how do you wish to proceed?"
----
The party has been walking for hours; good time for lunch and a rest. There is a burned out stable for goats or sheep closeby that looks like a good spot unlikely to have wandering visitors, but is open enough to give the party a good view of the area yet enclosed enough to proved cover.
Fem Elf Bard 3
Sunset looks a little puzzled at the reply she gets.
Wandering across the gallery Sunset spins so as to roast and cool herself evenly. :p
At the even muted display of lights Sunset slows to a virtual crawl. "Oooo...pretty..." She breathes softly, her large eyes lost in looking at the sparkles.

Harold: I sometimes go through there and could deliever the beer on your behalf, but if it is the forest goblins, they will drink it as they perfer pharmacuticals. If it is worg or spider riders; there are still the mounts which would attack you. Perhaps you should scout to plan accordingly, my lord wizard.
Male Gnome Sorcerer 3
That is probably a good idea Harold, unfortunately I myself am not good at the sneaking around stuff, and we lost Bob, who was good at such things, some time ago. Perhaps Kurg, Mox, or one of the other goblins might be better suited to scouting ahead."

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD
After a short while, heeh, the clash of iron dies down; but the growls and squeeks still abound; then a while later that dies down..
Mox and two of his boys return covered in blood, but not apparently wounded. His two goblins are dragging two other bloody stumps of goblins, still in plate and mail armor with arms legs and whatnot; but definately chewed upon. They drag them near Gyldyr and then leave to return to the dark tunnel.
Mox Deezer few you Drow; dey not Broken Toe good.
Mox Four new recruits for Da Mutter Herself, negotiations successful, weez kin move der; but I seez downda way a stopper
what does the paty do?
Elysdyne looks disgusted, Glydyr speculative; Kurg bored.
Fem Elf Bard 3
Sunset kid of manages the 'Icky' factor along with the 'Speculative'.
"Well...um...I guess we go see for our selfs, hey?" She suggests and trots off to where the Goblins had their little 'discussion'.
Male Gnome Sorcerer 3
"Thank you Mox for 'negotiating' for us, let go see what this new 'stopper' is that you are seeing."
Gloisil prepares to head down to where Mox and his boys were fighting. Once everyone is ready he starts down the passageway.
The amount of blood on the goblins and the others that get dragged back to Glyldyr make Desidera pause, but with them as inert as they are, she knows there's nothing that she could do for them.. The others did not look hurt, so she reluctantly turned away from the dead and followed the others, realizing that Sunset was already a ways ahead, and mildly concerned about that.
Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD
is everyone doing is or just one person or what? how is the party moving out?
Male Gnome Sorcerer 3
Sounds like we're all going.
Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD
The party moves forward to the skirmish area where the goblin boyz of Mox have three of the this other tribe of apparently dead goblins propped up and force feeding some dark syrupy liquid to them, incidentally; it is obvious these new three are missing toes.
further up ahead down the tunnel/hall; you see the commotion;a bugbear is torturing/Bullying several goblins with the bugbear are two very large and ugly and very muscular humans; maybe half breeds and three Norkers; the goblinoids with stonelike skin. The tribe they are torturing are Forest Goblins, about 10 of them, and the forest goblins look like they have just about had enough as you can see two of the large spiders they ride stealthily moving on the cieling to the wall behind the bugbear party.
what does the party do?

By all means, feel free to roll any and all rolls for me if it will make things more expedient. I haven't tried the new dice code for the forums, but for any momentary situation that would just slow down the game in waiting for a response, by all means don't wait for me.

I just keep some dice here by my computer; it doesnt matter to me if you use a online dice roller or just roll real dice; the honor system is good enough for me; and I mix up the rolls and topsty turvey stuff now and again where a failure is a success and like that; so just put out a number; who knows what will happen; I have lots of charts for various things. who knows; maybe a Fey is messing around or a demigod or wierd plantetary mystical alignments hehe; I try to keep things moving and lively.

As for speed of responses; I think we will get into a rythmn that everyone decides is the pace; I try to keep things going but I am not in a hurry or pushy; I really want people to play their characters; but if someone is missing for a week or so; will make a play for them. well, you could dive for cover and take some other action; as your a caster you dont have the shooting into melee penalty that most ranged guys have; so you could back away to side whereas you cant get shot and spell snipe some in melee if you choose to; would decrease the mob bonus these guys are getting;
on another note; these guys are worth lot more exps than the ones you fought upstairs at the entrance; should be the first real test of the pc's abilities and a real sloggernocker; you guys are giving it; a few more gobbies and I will have to begin testing to see if they break.

Is that for Elsdyn or did you switch targets via last minute info?
Galen, I am only keeping track of my own HPs, not really sure where everyone else is at. My character is new to the group and doesnt know, what he would call procedure, so since Desidera called for status last round I replied that I would need aid 'soon' which for my case met I was down 9, had 6 left and was taking an average of 3 a round. So I had a decent chance to survive the next round but would likely need aid before their attack the following round or I would go down. In simpler terms I thought it would give her enough time to consider her options rather than an emergency call (character has been fighting a war for several years...or at least watching given he is only 1st level, so he sort of thinks like that. ;) Had my character realized you were worse off he would have called the aid to you immediately, he just didnt know.

that is what little fights like these are for; so we can all see how it goes and work out details

Is that for Elsdyn or did you switch targets via last minute info?
Galen, I am only keeping track of my own HPs, not really sure where everyone else is at. Oop.. Name confusion (all you fighter-types look alike =p) That was for you. Galen got attention in this current round.

Gloisil Murigel wrote: Gloisil seeing the goblin archers turn and run, looks to see where he can turn his attention. But seeing that the only goblins left are the ones Galen and Elsdyn are fighting. Not wanting to shoot into the melee that his companions are engaged in, he stops and just takes some time to assess the situation.
As he does so he reaches around and get his crossbow where it is attached to his back and begins to load it.
Gloisil puts away his wand and prepares his crossbow in case it is needed.
Even if the crossbow is already set, I think I have three move actions in there. One to put away the wand, then to retrieve the crossbow, and last to load a bolt in it.
But, If you'll let me do all that in one round, I won't complain. Either way I be ready to shoot at something next round, but I think there will not be a need once Galen and Elsdyn have their chance to hit those poor goblins that didn't get the message to retreat.
Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD
I was assuming the wand was in a quick draw style wand holster which is common in my game; so that is a quick action, a move action if you carry then in a bag somewhere that needs to be opened and closed; I am guessing that the xbow is slug; so a quick action; if you have it strapped down; well that would be a move action to get it ready; then a quick action to draw and put in a bolt if you have them in a quarrel quiver that has them easily accessable; move action if they are not; longer if there down in the bottom of your backpack.

I didn't know about all those options that you have in your campaign, so I was just playing by standard rules. In the past games I have played in, a first level character would almost never had access to such things. They usually are cost prohibitive to a first level character.
Also, I like playing the lower levels best because I like the challenge of being a character that has few skills and abilities, and has to find a way to survive with what he has. I don't even mind "dying" as long as the odds aren't impossible and I gave it my best shot.
Playing in a game where we start with some pretty "advanced" equipment has taken some getting used to, but I'm getting there.

Think of it this way if it helps; the world has been at war on this continent for nearly 12 years; every inovation to be successful is fairly common place; the old quick and the dead idea; your either one or the other.
One the Eastern continent; they have been dominated and at war with some scattered pockets of freedom fighters for about 16 years; the southern continent; about three years; the Western Continent just finished a very long civil war about 2 years ago.
Consider that the population is about 1/3 what it was just 15 years ago; the bad guys have made a very concertend effort to steal; abscond; buy; or by any means neccessary aquire as many magic items as they could and remove them to the Vaults in the City State of Tarantis and had been doing this for about 20 years; so after so many magic items were gone; the war started; after nearly all of them gone; the invasion by demons. So while not many magic items are available, there is a lot of other convential gear that nobody is around to use anymore so is more readily available.

Gnomes, being very good allies with the Dwarves; have some pretty good information sources; and being a race, like halflings, that have the travel bug, they have a general idea of the big picture.
anything that comes up; you might have heard a story or two from Hava Gooday or Petrovich Cronefist (Peter the Small), or any of several other gnome heroes from your area. Members of your clan have been involved in this Central continent since "The Mob" came up out of the Underdark about 60 miles away from here and together with a Demonic Astral Battlecruiser; attacked the castle of some powerful adventurers. This was a pivital moment that every gnome in your clan knows; as related by a gnome theif who was one of those adventurers; I forget his name atm; He told the story of the Capture of Kosan, Priest of Dumathion, the betrayal of the parties Mage who sold out to the Demon Rheabau and how that Mage was given the position of the High Mage of City State of Tarantis; the story continues with the cowardice of the powerful barbarian who carried the Pick of Ages; and how the Pick punished him <the pick dissappeard so could not be taken by the bad guys which was probably the point of the attack on the PC's castle; to get the two items of legend; the Pick of Ages and Thunderfoot. Anyway; Kosan escapes the Abyss with the help of a half human demon princess and starts his quest of mucho payback.

So; the gnomes are a lot more prepared to the reality of war than most. The elves have generally retreated last 6 years or so and nobody has seen one; been in denial most people think; and from there prospective; this was a human problem started and propogated by humans and was not there problems to solve; they actually killed a whole lot of humans in retribution; something about humans screwing up the state of dreams and bad things moving through Faerie. It was only with the Appearance of the Snakemen that the Elven Host joined the war.

Once more, my math is suspect.
Taking 10 + Heal Skill + Kit Bonus + Sunset assist:
10 + 9 + 2 + 2 = 23
Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3
As I recall, this being 3.5 and not Pathfinder, a successful heal roll does not return any HP to the person being treated. It does, however allow for increased recovery rates during rest, and the bandaging was the proper thing to do post-battle, being the examining/cleaning, binding and bandaging, even if it serves even a cosmetic purpose.
IIRC, Heal can stabilize on a successful check, but-- eh, let me just look it up.
3.5 Skill: Heal
Use this skill to keep a badly wounded friend from dying, to help
others recover faster from wounds, to keep your friend from succumbing
to a wyvern’s sting, or to treat disease.
Pf Skill: Heal
You are skilled at tending to wounds and ailments.
No immediate change. Possibly some alteration in the table and following description, but no immediate gain of HP. (see Healing Surge)

Well I was going to post the info from the heal skill as well, but Me'mori beat me to it.
As she said, there is the long-term care option as part of a heal check that allows for a PC to recover twice the number of hit point as he/she would normally in an 8 hour or 24 hour period, but that requires the injured PC to stop for that long and be cared for by the PC or NPC doing the heal check.
Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3
Alright, since Desidera just took ten on a Heal check, what is everyone's current HP at out of how much?
Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5
I'm at full hit points, which is 5 hp.
Male Human (Britonian/Azurin) Earthblood Knight/2
I am full up, your last heal topped me off and the goblins missed from that point on.
Sorry about the late posts btw, work has got me under the gun and I have even had to come in on my days off, so not much time for me lately.

Val, I didn't get the latest map. If you could send it to me that would be great. If you need my email again, let me know.
Also, I will be out of town this weekend and may not be able to post again until Tuesday.

ok; I sent it out; I sure with my mail would let me group peeps; ah well.
Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5
If the top of the last map that was sent is north, I thought that Bob was leading us down the side passage to the south. If I remember correctly, neither Bob or Gloisil liked the looks of the area of the main hall that had the chains dangling from the ceiling.

All, just thought I would let you know that Val will likely not be posting this week. His grandmother passed away and so he will be spending time with family. He probably would have posted this himself but got caught up in other things.
Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD
sorry about the delay; had a death in the family, had to go out of town for a while.
thanks for letting peeps know for me; my family is not on the net.

In the interest of trying to end the lull in the middle of our battle, I thought I'd throw a post out on the discussion thread. Besides, it had disappeared from the list, so this will get us back up near the top for a bit.
Are we waiting for someone in particular? Should we go ahead and start round 4? Just getting a little antsy, I hate cliffhangers.
Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5
Val,
I also forgot to add some bonuses to my last attack for Gloisil. Not that the bonuses to my attack roll will make any difference since I hit anyway, but I may have done more damage.
I don't ever recall seeing a post from Sunset on what the bonuses from her Inspire Courage are. From the rules it looks to be +1 to attack, damage, and fear saves, but I don't know if she has any bonuses that would increase that. So, I at least should have done one more point of damage.
Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5
Val,
I keep forgetting about my familiar. Do you have a problem if I just assume that he has been with me the whole time perched on my shoulder or tucked away safely somewhere, or would you rather assume that he was left back at home?
Not much I can do with him at this point, but he has more hit points then I do and can at least help me to do spot and listen checks. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.
Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD
you familiar is no problem; still with you, smart enough to stay out of the way or perch somewhere safe; feed itself generally; and like that.
ok; thanks, will update the damage; in the old game of d&d damage made a lot more difference as you got exps for how much damage you did and took, same as treasure in which gp translated into exps; 3.5 does exps differently; so other than taking out an enemy; it doesnt make a whole lot more difference.
Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5
Is the XP that you posted on the main thread the XP for just that battle, or our total so far. I may have missed any other posts about XP earned and I'm just wondering what Gloisil's total is at this point.
Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5
I searched through the whole campaign up to this point and could see no other mention of experience.
Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3
Now, I realize that the game has certain limits in regards to what can do what, but I would be amenable to a certain relative amount of leeway in regards to things. "Track" seems to be a bit broad, especially -- Ah. Nevermind. My concern would hold more weight had Desidera taken Skill Focus: Heal.
In this case, she is working off of general experience, and no special training. *makes a note for next feat*

Here's a relevant question: How much does Prestidigitation clean? I do believe that Sunset prestidigitamated everyone, but the degree of cleanliness that can be achieved from that has always been up for debate. Are we squeaky clean? sparkling? just generally clean?
Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5
It just says 'clean' in the spell description, so I guess it's up to the DM as to how clean it gets us. Obviously though Val thinks wez ain't that clean. ;-)
Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD
well; it is amount of cleaning involved; you guys were caked and covered in guts; blood; grease; whatnot; I have that spell scale as you get more powerful as a caster. Directed at your own robe; it would be clean; spotless, no stains at starting level; but doing such a large area; it cleans; but not as well. At 5th; 5 people and their robes would be fairly clean, few stains remaining; items bit dull; so at at 10th everyone in this room and thier items would be clean as if ultrawashed; at 20th; everything in the entire room and bit beyond would be pristine clean.
As it did; you spell helped quite a bit; very good to have done considering the amount of harmful materials and substances about.
