For a moment the fog cleared and Esmarelda shook her head. "Uha... This is getting annoying." She muttered before she looked around. "Someone want to fill me in?" Esmarelda asked as she moved to aid in the attack of the new enemies.

This is getting old...
He began willing the pike to its furhest reach.
"Lay down you arms and cross over to this ship and you will live."
To further emphasizw his point He thrust at the closet enemy.

"Imma get that a$!+*%$."
Cass was going to flicker step into the cabin, but now she can just walk inside. With greater invisibility, the captain may not even know that she's coming. As soon as she gets eyes on him, she doesn't waste a moment and puts him inside a resilient sphere.
Rhialla "Buxom" Blackwater
Does the babau hunting him see him?
Percival Asploric
|
"Is it uh.... safe to cross over. I dont want to mess with any angry devils demons, witches, or priestessese of Calistra. not neccesarily in that order either."
Cassiopeia Nereus
1 person marked this as a favorite.
As stated previously, stalking into the cabin and looking for Vitterande with see invisibility still up, and then bottling him in a resilient sphere when I find him.
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
Ashlei immediately takes charge of the charred prisoners that gave themselves up, disarming them and forcing them into submission on their knees with their hands behind their heads.
Rhialla "Buxom" Blackwater
The Babau emerges from the cabin and looks around. He can't see Vitterrande.
Cassiopeia is heading invisibly to the cabin.
What is everyone else doing?
The Babau attacked Vitterrande last round then lost sight of him. Can you communicate with the Babau?.
Nope. It doesn't have telepathy. So it couldn't see him when it entered the cabin, with permanent see invisibility?
Cassiopeia Nereus
Still invisible, Cassiopeia casts detect magic and starts looking for telltale signs of shapeshifting or illusions.

"Fan out keep near someone and lets fins this rat bastard."
he made his way across the planks looking for what might a an egress point.
"get some of the crew to get the cargo were looking for across to our vessel quickly"
Cassiopeia Nereus
Cass peeks out the back window to see if he spider climbed up or down.
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
Now calmer, Ashlei suddenly sees it in her minds eye...and its also what she would do if she were in his place.
"He's lost! He's probably going to set the cargo or the magazine stores on fire! We need to stop him or get off the ship...quickly! He's probably got a secret hatch somewhere in his cabin!"
GM_DBH
stealth: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (4) + 19 = 23
perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31
Ashlei starts shouting something about fire. Maybe regarding the fire she started on the deck with her Fireballs?
Meanwhile Cassiopeia glances out the window and spots a Dire rat clinging to the hull. It seems to be trying to hide in the rudder cabling?
What now?
Esmarelda Valarie
"... I do have an idea..." Esmarelda began. "If we don't need the ship... we could sink it." She suggested as she looked around.
Cassiopeia Nereus
"You dirty rat."
Cass activates her pearl of power and flings another brace of magic missiles into the rat. If it's just a typical dire rat, that should probably kill it. If it's a polymorphed pirate captain, though...
Still invisible thanks to greater invisibility.
Magic missile damage: 5d4 + 5 ⇒ (3, 1, 4, 3, 4) + 5 = 20
Cassiopeia Nereus
"$%^&..."
Cass stalks out of the cabin.
"Hey! Ladies and captains! I'm invisible, don't worry about it. He's turned himself into a dire rat and he's clinging to the hull. I chased him out the back window of the captain's cabin. If one of you has a way to get eyes on, let's finish this loser."
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
Already on the other boat watching the prisoners in a paranoid state, Ashlei moves to the indicated side of the ship and points her rod at anything she can see moving.

"At this point i dont care what happens to the bloody ship. i j just want the liqour ladies if you want to deter a rat from getting back on board go for it, im going to get the cargo transfered over."
Cassiopeia Nereus
"All right, all right... let's just get the goods and hull the ship." Cass grudgingly helps with swiping the cargo.
Esmarelda Valarie
"So, no punching then? Esmarelda ask Cassi with a grin on her face.
GM_DBH
Loot from the goons:
Chain shirt + 2 (12),
Cutlass + 1 (8).
stealth: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (20) + 19 = 39
You get the rum transferred to your ship with no further problems.
What are you doing now? Keeping the Jester's grin, or sinking it
Also you have the 4 surviving goons. Half-orc fighter/rogues. What do you do with them?
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
Unless they can offer some sort of information to help us catch that damn Were-Rat captain or offer us some sweet treasure info, then I say we dump them in the ocean for the sharks.
Tie them to the statue of the one goon I stoned and let them sink to the bottom with the rest of the ship when we sink her.
Technically I'm already wearing a Chain Shirt +2...effectively. So someone else take that if they want it. Give the +1 Cutlass to one of our crew that has done an outstanding job somewhere. I think the rest of us have decent weapons already?

"Rhialla,Cass as soon as we pull away from that blasted vessel i want a bow to stern sweep of our ship with your magics make sure that bastard hasnt slipped aboard somehow. As for that ship? Did we get the alcohol? I could care less what becomes of it hole the sails let it drift, burn it down, let it float with the ocean current. It matters little to me. McNally! get these new crew settled in."
He called out making his way for his cabin for a moments respite. He f+%$ing hurt in a lot pf places but he wasnt going to show that in front of anyone. that was a fight.
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
Ashlei says burn it to the water-line and send the enemies to the deep. But she’s loco.
Cassiopeia Nereus
"We can bring the prisoners aboard my ship if you want, captain. I have a lot of space since I run lean on crew."
Rhialla "Buxom" Blackwater
"I think that's a sound idea, add them to Cass' crew under intense supervision. Any slip ups and they meet the bottom." Rhiallah says
GM_DBH
There is something sad about watching a perfectly good ship burn down to the waterline. No one is really happy about it, all too aware the same fate could befall them.
Your ships are loaded, the new crew are sent to Cassiopeia. You ready to leave before the smoke draws the curious.
One last Perception check from everyone please.

You return to your island without incident.
You have now a good stock of alcohol, you've hired Audessa Reyquio and her girls to serve to food and drinks. Also to supply entertainment.
Work on the dock and your fort is proceeding well, you are almost ready to host the Free captains.
Anything else you wish to do to prepare for your feast?
Cassiopeia Nereus
"So we can expect someone's going to try to crash the party. Preparations, captain?"
Ashlei 'Burnout' Mamoud
Ashlei spends her spare time 'testing' out the entertainment and booze as much as possible...in order to make sure it is all decent for the guests!
She will also review/supervise the building of the dock and whatever else she wanders near...

"Patrols are always a good call." Esmarelda pipped up at that. "However if they know what they're doing we're likely looking at something with magic so... mayhaps keep that in mind?"
Percival Asploric

"They say keep your friends close but your enemies closer.."
He said simply.
"We invite everybody, it would be rude to not to. we will certainly keep our eyes on their crews as they disembark. we may need to get additional eyes for that.. any ideas ladies?
GM_DBH
The Pirate council is sending three Free captains to assess your rule of the island. Avimar Sorrinash, Lady Cerise Bloodmourn, and Captain Mase Darimar.
Knowledge local rolls for information on these three.
In addition you can invite anyone else you know to the feast.
Who are you inviting?
Esmarelda Valarie

This is what you know of the Free captains, and what you pick up when they arrive. It was a great roll!
The Werewolf ruler of Shark island. Known for letting his pack hunt people on the nights of the full moon. You have met him before.
The Pirate Council sends Avimar Sorrinash to the Island of Empty Eyes to test you before offering you a seat on the council. As a guest at your dinner party, he expects and demands the best, but he also presents a threat to those your care.
He is lascivious, spiteful, and used to getting his way, and his manners and goodwill only extend so far. Under the influence of strong drink, Sorrinash becomes more belligerent and prone to acting on his baser
instincts.
Lady Bloodmourn is one of three pirate lords sent by the Pirate Council to assess your success in claiming and settling the Island of Empty Eyes. Though fervently interested in the dinner party honoring her and the other
emissaries, she also takes her duty very seriously. Her every word, action, and peal of laughter is designed to measure you and determine
your worthiness in joining her on the council.
Like any clever noblewoman, however, she also seeks to curry their favor and build alliances. Indeed, Cerise hopes to someday displace Kerdak Bonefist, and claim the title of Hurricane Queen and dominion of the island nation as her own.
A Half-elf with his elven half being aquatic elf Mase Darimar has dealings with the aquatic races of the Shackles and is concerned at how they are treated by the surface dwellers.
Mase Darimar comes to the Island of Empty Eyes to assess your progress in taming your new stronghold.
Unlike the other pirate lords, however, he does so at more than just the Pirate Council's behest. He also secretly represents the interests of the aquatic elves of the Shackles.
Mase's outward demeanor remains somewhat aloof, though cordial, and over dinner, he gauges the your seagoing prowess and any threat they might pose to his father's people-a concern to the elves, as one of their small communities lies beneath the waves just 30 nautical miles from your island.
