I'm assuming the 2d6 in the dice expression is damage and not a typo for a Fortitude save. That's what had me confused. Also, I don't see anything abouthow much damage is taken from persistent void.[/ooc]
Initial and persistent damage are the same.

Omfg. Ok. Gimme some time. I just quit my job today. I told my asshat head chef to gtfh.

I thought i resolved the effects. Flat check 15. I got a 15.

I have no idea what other effects Kazuki has. Not frightened, no persistent damage.

Come to think of it, chef's hats are often drawn like buttocks on a pedestal, so your adjective seems apt. ;P
I hope you roll high enough on your Fort save, since Auntie Wu doesn't have any more ranged healing spells right now. There's no guarantee that she'd be able to reach you in time to Lay on Hands.
I could cast Cornucopia/Good Berry one round and the next round cast Helpful Wood Spirits to bring you the berries. It would have to be GM's ruling to decide if they are capable of feeding you or if they also need to make climb checks to get up there.

All good!
But yes, you must reckon with the Hand of Kugaptee if you are to survive!
DM rainzax
Can we take another 20 minutes, please?
Tell me how long you take to rest, and I will factor that into what happens next.
I think once I got my 5 questions (awaiting Kazuki's, unless I missed it), I will give you 5 answers, and that will help you decide how to spend your time and resources...
So far, it looks like you are taking about an hour to rest up (if I got that right)
Auntie Wu

By my count, with spending 10 minutes to Treat Wounds on each of the five of us, then refocusing for 20 minutes, that brings the ideal rest time for me up to 70 minutes.
Pending party agreement and the new info dump, of course.
Ho Lan
2 people marked this as a favorite.
We should finish in 40 min. Lan didn't use a Focus Point in combat, so he can cast at the top of the round and Refocus. Here's how it plays out:
-1 round:
Lan 0/53, Dying 3, Wounded 1
Sigurd 21/58
Auntie Wu 24/56
Vekka 16/51
Kazuki 34/69
0 round:
Vekka's healing potion: Lan +1 [this actually wasn't necessary, but it was posted first]
Sigurd's Heal: All +11
Auntie Wu's Cornucopeia: Lan +20
Lan 32/53, Wounded 2
Sigurd 32/58
Auntie Wu 35/56
Vekka 27/51
Kazuki 45/69
0-10 min:
Auntie Wu's Treat Wounds: Vekka +18
Lan's Phoenix Fire: All except Lan +7
Lan's Aeon Stone: Lan +10
Lan 42/53, Wounded 2
Sigurd 39/58
Auntie Wu 44/56
Vekka 51/51
Kazuki 52/69
10-20 min:
Auntie Wu's Treat Wounds: Sigurd +0
Lan's Phoenix Fire: All except Lan +6
Lan's Aeon Stone: Lan +10
Lan 52/53, Wounded 2
Sigurd 45/58
Auntie Wu 50/56
Vekka 51/51

20-30 min:
Auntie Wu's Treat Wounds: Kazuki +32

Lan's Aeon Stone: Lan +10
Lan 53/53, Wounded 2 [needs 10 minutes to clear after full]
Sigurd 54/58
Auntie Wu 56/56
Vekka 51/51
Kazuki 69/69
30-40 min:
Auntie Wu's Treat Wounds: Lan +21

Lan's Aeon Stone: Lan +10
Auntie Wu Refocuses
Lan 53/53 [Wounded cleared now]
Sigurd 54/58
Auntie Wu 56/56
Vekka 51/51
Kazuki 69/69
Not needed:
Auntie Wu's Treat Wounds: Auntie Wu +35
Lan's Phoenix Fire: All except Lan +9
Lan's Aeon Stone: Lan +10

Woooaaah. Look at the big brain on Lan!
Seriously, though, thanks a ton for doing that. It's definitely hard to keep track of everything with all the posting going on.
DM rainzax
I believe I have answered your questions based upon your secret rolls and choice of Essence (let me know if you feel I have overlooked something?)
But ran out of time to make a Moving Forward post. Looking towards tomorrow to do that.
In the meantime, you spend 40 minutes resting (per Lan's post above) and push forward - go ahead and post your Exploration Mode if you like, and we'll go from there.
DM rainzax
When you have a moment, please double check that all your Macros are set.
Vekka Tchakon
Also done. Vekka's seemed like they were previously up-to-date (let me know if you see something missing stilll).
Kazuki Sato
Finished my macros.
Where do I find the information on stacking bonuses on Archives of Nethys?
I'm wondering if the +1 bonus to initiative from scouting exploration stacks with the +2 bonus from Seasonal Boon. Especially when granting the bonus to allies.
I think Lan said a while ago that they don't stack.
Sigurd Kolphan, Season of Ghost
2 people marked this as a favorite.
There are three other types of bonus that frequently appear: circumstance bonuses, item bonuses, and status bonuses.
If you have different types of bonuses that would apply to the same roll, you'll add them all.
But if you have multiple bonuses of the same type, you can use only the highest bonus on a given roll—they aren't cumulative.
For instance, if you have both a proficiency bonus and an item bonus, you add both to your d20 result, but if you have two item bonuses, you add only the higher of the two.
>Scout< is a +1 Circumstance bonus. If the Seasonal Boon is also Circumstance then they will not stack - you'll take the +2 bonus.
Kazuki Sato
Seasonal boon says it's a Status Bonus. :)
Auntie Wu
|
*Different* types of bonuses stack; *same* types don't. That's why my bard doesn't have Guidance as a cantrip. She uses the remastered version of Inspire Courage/Defense/Competence to do that for the whole group, and they're the same type of bonus as Guidance.

D'oh! I misinterpreted the damage tracker. Oh well. Her actions won't change. Thanks for clarifying!
DM rainzax
GM, you mention "one check only." Is that per PC? Or for the entire team? If it's per PC, Sigurd will use Religion +11 to identify.
Per PC. If everyone fails, the items remain a mystery. Ignoring CF for now.

Some quick housekeeping:
Vekka wrote:@GM: Do any of the people bitten by the Amphisbaena feel lingering effects of the poison?Do any of you still feel as though your blood is tainted?
The poison seems to have never fully entered your systems (passed all Fort saves).
For GM Only: Survival check to assess water quality
The water is clean enough to drink...
...but you also detect evidence of Leeches... a thriving ecosystem of them!
DM rainzax
With Lan's initiative +7 trying to beat 28/28/26, I'm moving us along!
Also, backing up Kazuki one Stride (Disable is two actions).
Kazuki Sato
Can I/we try to disable the haunt each round?
DM rainzax
Yes

Kazuki Sato
Shizuru! Why have you forsaken me?
Right? I was thinking, "why would the most pious of the group not have his prayers answered?"
@GM: how high is the wall of ghosts? When we look up when we look up, does it appear to go up past the heavens, or could we possibly fly over it if we had magic?
DM rainzax
I’ll move us along when we got everyone’s prepared spells.

I keep forgetting this (bold text) and I'm finally going to post it for everyone:
[free-action]:
Trigger: You’re about to roll initiative; Effect: Something about the situation triggers your defenses, allowing you to react to sudden peril more quickly. You gain a status bonus to your initiative roll equal to the number of seasons since you’ve started Season of Ghosts (+1 during the first adventure, up to a maximum of +4 during the fourth and final adventure). If you can communicate a warning to other PCs, they gain this bonus to their initiative as well.
Kazuki will always communicate a warning.

I keep forgetting that Auntie Wu has that same boon, too (also Outskirt Dweller). I'll add something to my tracker to help me remember.

Remember to adjust your dice mods for status conditions, folks.
Example: Special Effect w/ Sickened (-1) w/ Volley (-2): 1d6 - 1 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 1 - 2 = -1
That way, we know what the "factors" of the die result are, and if we missed one, or applied one erringly, it's an easy fix.
Otherwise, poor GM has to pore through several backposts to scroll and re-read this or that or the other, so, I'm essentially asking you to spare me this hassle.

Sickened doesn't stack - you just take the greatest effect. So Kazuki should be Sickened 2 since that's what Failing the Will Save does.

FYI: I will be away in nature (specifically on a river and out of cell range) and unable to post starting Friday evening 5/23 through Monday evening 5/26 (US/Pacific time). Being a weekend, I hope this minimizes the disruption and I will resume posting that Monday evening (5/26).
