Looking at Kasimir, the voice behind the mask is bereft of the biting mirth from before. "Speak to me again when you bear more signs of unholy blessing than a mere bauble."

In a blur of motion, Saviya streaks down the stairs to the pillars to the north. A curtain of whirling blades appears around Yuri, forcing the dwarf to try and dodge aside. Reflex Save! When she stops moving, all of the damage inflicted upon her appears to be healed.

Probably just a hasted/longstriding double-move. Is there room to squeeze past the blade barrier between the corner or above it? He has used 20' of his 70' first move. Will move to melee if he can reach her without hitting the barrier.

The crew of the Seaward Gull give a hearty cheer, then quickly sail in after him.

”Illusion! She put up an illusion!” Bombshell warns the party. Eylysia cocks her head, squinting old eyes around the temple. A blast of fire fills the air, blanketing the party in flames!

Working on area now. I believe everyone will be caught, but do not spend rerolls until I confirm the area. Edit: It is a large enough area to get even Rokgurn outside. I believe that Crazy can easily recognize it as Fire Storm.

The crew of the Gull, much more aware of their surroundings, sees what's coming well ahead of their captain. They are already furling sails and wetting down the deck by the time the fire hits, as many of the crew as possible trying to get belowdecks before it does.

Say, don't suppose the 'This spell does not start fires on a ship unless the ship rolls a natural 1 on its saving throw against fire damage. ' applies to an eidolon pretending to be a ship? =)

Kasimir finishes his incantation, and the scroll is consumed by flame as the center of the Mantis statue is used as a target for the Silence spell.

Kasimir sighs. Fine. Some days, you just have to do things yourself. He flies closer to the now-silent statue, and draws his mace. A close look reveals that its leather-wrapped handle still shines, as though the weapon were rarely used.

Saviya turns her masked face to Kasimir as he rounds the statue, his spell revealing her in its shadow. "I look forward to seeing what blessing my patron grants me this day, for facing the likes of you."

Or she would, if I hadn't forgotten the silence spell. I blame Hamish. :P

As the fire clears, Hamish stands there for a moment, blinking, small fires still burning along his coat sleeves and hat, and smoke billowing out of his beard.

"Ain't seen that big an explosion since Short Toby dropped that alchemists fire into the hold o' the Thakur's merchant ship off Jalmaray." He muses, as he removes his hat with one hand, and uses it to bat out the flames (on both the hat, and the sleeves). "Who knew it was transportin' all that black powder?! Certainly not Short Toby, har!"

"Weren't nothin' of him, the ship, or me eyebrows, left after that." He continues to yammer away as he flies forward, like he's in a tavern, rather than a battle, smoke still wafting from cinders in his beard, the burned sections making it look even more sparse and ratty than normal.

He glances at the ship. "So what are you waiting for, go get that wench, before she starts hittin' on us again! We don't need another spatula incident!"

He returns his hat to his head, and absently rubs at a necklace around his neck. "Besmara herself is watching over us today boys! Show her how we do things!"

There is a cheer from the crew, as the sails suddenly billow, and the ship lurches forward.

Hamish spends his turn pontificating... it is important to keep people informed, after all! Single move forward, then UMD his bead of blessing, to cast Bless, will hit everyone but Rokgurn

UMD vs DC 20: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26

Both Hamish and the Gull using fervor for the +2 to attack, AC, and reflex saves.

The Seaward gull sails across the open space surprisingly quickly, though passes dangerously close to one of the pillars as it does so.

Will pass the closest pillar, so if it does something, it will get its chance, unless it happens on its turn, then the Gull will have moved past by then.

It comes in behind Yuri, the crew working hard to prep the cannons and ballistae. You can see some of the sailors on the bow, yelling towards the dwarf, waving their hands furiously, but whatever they are saying is lost, swallowed up by Kasimir's silence spell.

They look back at Mr. Phips, who raises one hand, and points forward anyway, and the men on the harpoons fire them. Yuri sees dozens of small missiles zip past his ear, over his head, under his arms, and one even through his legs, as they lance towards the priestess.

Single move (70'), gaining 5' in elevation en route, then single attack, at range, on the priestess... Yuri will give her soft cover, unfortunately.

The summoner doesn't summon stuff... At least very rarely =)
He just stands around looking pretty while the eidolon does the useful things.

And your limited Paladin spells are probably better used in other ways. I've got two +1 furious weapons, both of which get used, so if one of the casters has the slots for it one or two castings of GMW would be welcome. And ditto with Magic Vestment. But no worries if our casters have other uses for their spells. Just like to do some planning since at this level the allocation of buffs can make a big difference.

Hey, welcome! I know it can always be a challenge to learn a new community and board (I know I had my learning curve with MythWeavers).

But I'd say play the PC style you like. If you are usually a melee cleric, then do what works. I suspect Yuri will be doing much of the front-line damage. Omrax less so, unless demons/undead/dragons are involved.

Buffs are always appreciated. Omrax can provide some healing in combat and a bit more outside as needed (he does not channel).

A couple more tips:

1) In Gameplay thread/tab (where you dotted), you will probably want to post with your PC alias "Kasimir vonVang". You can switch which alias you use each time you post with the dropdown "post-as". You can edit/delete it up until an hour, then it becomes locked.

2) I am assuming you have played more on MythWeavers. Some helpful tips (if you have not seen them already PbP Tips

Yes, if you have the slots to spare I would be happy to have one (or two if possible) castings of GMW and one casting of magic vestment. Also, if you or anyone else is able to cast Enlarge Person on me that is always helpful (I carry some potions of it, but it's more effective to have it running for 12 or 24 minutes sometimes).

Buffs are great for me and I can generally do a good amount of damage, but I am superstitious, so I'll have to save against any spells cast on me once I'm raging.

Some various shenanigans and details:

* Yuri is superstitious, which means that he has to save against any spells cast, including friendly ones, while raging. This can get dangerous if he falls unconscious (because if he runs out of rage while unconscious he'll die), so please do heal him, even though he'll have to save for half, as quickly as possible if he goes down (he has the Raging Vitality feat that lets him continue to rage while unconscious). This restriction doesn't apply to channeling, lay on hands, or other non-spell forms of healing.

* @GM: Yuri has come and get me, with 4 AoO (or 3 if enlarged) per turn, so he'll likely post a spoilered block of AoOs to use in case he is attacked. These AoOs each trigger before the foe's attack and if accompanied by Dazing Assault might prevent the foe from completing their attack (or turn). Making it even more complicated for PbP, he's simultaneously wielding reach and non-reach weapons, so which weapon makes the AoO attack is something you'll want to pay attention to.

* @GM: once/day Yuri can enter rage as an immediate action when attacked or targeted by a hostile effect. For PbP purposes, he'll use this when targeted by a Will save effect (unless an ally is able to spellcraft and identify that it's not too serious).

* @GM: Yuri has spell sunder. Let me know if you have any questions or issues with how it can be used.

* @GM: what's your ruling on how, if at all, rage cycling works? I'm fine with however you want to handle it.

@Yuri. had to do a little bit of research about your first question. You would be able to interrupt his attack with that combo. (you might have to remind me once or 50 times.), but he does get a save and if he saves, then it would repeat for your next AoO. Is there a limit on how many Dazing Assaults you can do a round?

2nd. You have to be the target. I don't think it includes AOEs, since you are not targeted, but in an area. (Could you link me the ability so I can read more about it?)

3rd. I think I understand the power after reading it. If i have any questions, I'll send you a DM to keep the clutter down.

4th. You go into rage at any point during Turn A and you come out of Rage at the begin of Turn B. Unless you have something like the witches Cackle which can extend it by a round.

Re Dazing Assault, yes it's a DC 23 Fort save so at this level most creatures will have a high likelihood of making the save. No limit on uses/round: it's like Power Attack - once you turn it on it's on until my next turn and it gives a -5 to attacks, so I usually won't use it together with PA and I'll generally only use it against creatures that I feel fairly confident of hitting and/or think might have weak Fort saves.

Re 1/day immediate action to enter rage: the ability comes from headband of havoc. As I read it, it probably should work against an AoE, but I generally wouldn't want to use it against something that is just going to do damage (like most AoE), but more against something that is going to dominate me or otherwise just take me out of the fight. In tabletop play I'd use my best judgment of how dire the situation appeared, but that's harder to do in PbP. If possible for an ally to spellcraft any potentially triggering effect, I'll rely on that to determine whether it's worth using. Otherwise, since my non-raging Fort is already high, and since most Reflex simply do damage and I have lots of hp, the main use would be if targeted by a Will effect when not in rage (my raging Will is 3 higher, or 6 higher if the cause is a spell, SLA, or supernatural).

Its great from an RP perspective sure... but if someone is a bit slow responding, it can be problematic for those who respond faster, if said info is relevant.


I’m fine with PM’s. I’m also fine with imperfect amounts of information, it adds verisimilitude.

Evangelist clerics get some bard powers, so I believe I can inspire courage or greatness and bypass your superstition problems. I’ll grab a breath of life as well.

I have no problems with any of the above.


PM of private skill checks can be amusing. It is also an incentive for a character to actually know something or be perceptive. A player should really be posting this information on their turn if at all possible.

Inspire Courage is great for Yuri (probably moreso than Inspire Greatness) and superstition won't interfere with it at all.

It's an interesting rules question for the GM whether or not Yuri would have to save against Breath of Life - hopefully we won't find out! :-)

Yuri would benefit from Bear's Endurance, but I would suggest seeing if others could use it first. When raging Yuri will have Fort +23, 194 hp, DR 2/-, and (if Magic Vestment) an AC of 30. If he uses Come and Get Me, foes will get +4 to hit and dmg against him, but still, if he goes down it's likely not from straight hp loss.


As far as I know, cure spells only make you safe if you are undead or harmed by healing magic.

Who's to say, you might die in the first encounter, when you have to face the level 25 Druid.

A level 25 druid sounds like a good way to start out - it'll certainly get our attention!

The issue with the saves vs the cure spell is that the superstition rage power says "While raging, the barbarian cannot be a willing target of any spell and must make saving throws to resist all spells, even those cast by allies." There are a few helpful ally spells - like Dimension Door - that don't list a save in their entry, so raging Yuri could be DD'ed without having to make a save, but most of them - like Cure Light Wounds - say something like "Saving Throw Will half (harmless)", in which case raging Yuri has to save against them. If he makes his save he'll still be healed, but only for half. Unconscious Yuri is still raging (due to the Raging Vitality feat), which is good because otherwise he would be insta-dead (due to loss of extra hp from rage) but the question of whether Dead Yuri is still raging (for the question of whether he has to save vs Breath of Life) is, I'd say, unclear, and I'll happily go along with whatever the GM rules.

But hopefully it won't come up! :-)

And, just a comment in general....

But anyone within 10' of the eidolon, will get a +2 circumstance bonus on saves, and a +2 shield bonus to AC.

Just something to keep in mind! Easy to forget this stuff.

Aura effects are very useful indeed. We cannot forget the Paladin's either. My character can help to nullify critical hits or single huge attacks with divine interference. It was really useful in the Ruby Phoenix Tournament when a cocky Monk decided to solo an encounter.
Full hit points to dead (or it would have been) in one roll.


Don’t forget, Kasimir can raise the dead if it’s needed. Just someone remember to grab the biggest piece. ; )

GM: I am wondering how you would adjudicate the spell Ice Armor (from Inner Sea Guide). It says it would provide the same protection as a Breastplate. Does that mean that it is considered Medium Armor and has the same ACP and Speed Reduction as Breastplate?

Can the Decemverate provide a wand of nondetection or a hat of disguise? I assume standard prices, of course.
