I probably should know this by now, but how do I ask customer service to transfer control of a thread to myself?

Here's a new annoying bug that I have noticed: my posts in campaigns sometimes don't show up until I refresh the screen. Is anyone else noticing this?
Hmm

Yes, ma'am. Happens to me occasionally...good thing is that it hasn't eaten my post yet...

This happened to me today. I always Ctrl-C before I hit "Submit Post" in case of problems, so I reposted with a Ctrl-V when I didn't see the post I'd just posted. Then noticed I had a duplicate post with all new die rolls. (Simple enough to delete, but it threw me for a loop.)

I'll add a voice to the chorus of ayes.
Better than the posts actually being eaten though :p

I sense downtime in our future, it seems the site is becoming a little less stable each day. I've noticed page loading times are also increasing too. Those in the special might want to think about your back-up plans in case we have a couple days down.
I feel like a doomsayer wandering the town with a sandwich board -- The End is Near! - hopefully I'm wrong about that.

Adds to the screams of despair.
Screams* as well.
*Enjoying a cup of chocolate ice cream. Mmmm. Haven't had despair. Does that have almonds or caramel in it? I'm allergic to one, and can't pronounce the other, and therefore refuse to admit it exists.

I have to assume you're allergic to caramel since every conceivable pronunciation of it is considered legitimate by someone.
And now I'm trying to figure out how many pronunciation permutations there would be for caramel pecan ice cream.
Also...trying to figure out how I can get some caramel pecan ice cream.

I'm back. yay! Spendig a couple of days catching up.
Is anyone else having a problem editing campaigns at the moment?

GM TOP |

Yup, that is a recent issue that has cropped up.

Easiest way to remember it is that Precise shot and Point Blank shot apply as long as an attack roll is made with the spell.
For example as above. Scorching Rays, ray of frost, acid splash.
Not so much Fireball and magic missile.

When you get a chronicle sheet from playing a pregen and want to apply it to a lower level PC, you hold the sheet until that PC gets to the level range listed on the sheet. (Unless level 1 where other circumstance may apply, but that's not what my question is about.)
Do you number the sheet immediately, and just hold off on applying the benefits from the sheet until in level? Or do you leave the number blank until you are in level?

It's my understanding that it applies when you hit the level of the pregen, not the beginning of the level range for the scenario. For instance, if you play a 4th level pregen in a 3-7 scenario, and apply credit to a 1st level character, it would apply when you hit 4th, not when you hit 3rd.

Found the quote:
Applying Credit: You may apply credit for an adventure once your Roleplaying Guild character reaches the level of the pregenerated character used to play through it. For example, if you played a 7th-level pregenerated character, you would apply the credit once your character reaches 7th level.

Thank you for catching that, Dennis. Yes, if a player chose to play a pregen, they don't apply the sheet until the character reaches the level of the pregen. If the adventure was one that requires pregens (such as We Be Goblins Free), the sheet gets applied as soon as the character reaches the range on the sheet.

Question for the powers that be: I'd like to throw my hat in the ring as a GM here. What do I need to do? How do I create campaigns? Where do I report? I guess I just have a bunch of questions and haven't been able to find answers, yet. Any links for me?

Hi Azra, it is great that you are willing to take up the GM hat!
Some generic points
- Before starting to GM PbP it is a good idea to play a couple of games in PbP. That way you get to experience what other GMs do and learn from them.
- Take some time to familiarize yourself with the tools that are out there in the PbP GM Kit At least read the Welcome New PBP GMs document.
- Start small, with one scenario.
- Choose a scenario in a tier that you feel comfortable with (for most that is tier 1-5 when they start GMing)
- Accept that everyone has their own bandwidth (the number of games you can run / play in at the same time) and it will take some time to get to know yours. Also know that your bandwidth is not a constant: most people's bandwidth tends to go down if they are occupied with real-life stuff.
As for your specific questions:
- How do I create campaigns?
Go to the Play by Post section on the forums and add a new thread. After creating the thread it will ask you if you want to create a campaign
- Where do I report?
@Redelia: didn't we make a guide for that? Or is that in draft?
Basically you go to "my account" -> "Account settings" (sign in) -> "Make Changes" in "Organized Play" -> Tab "GM / Event Coordinator" -> "Create your event". Things should be rather straightforward from there. Note that reporting during PbP conventions follows a different route.
Hope this helps, good luck and have fun!

You may want to start GMing with a single scenario you've played before, so you don't have to worry too much about new content. If you've GMed in real life, it's even better to pick that one.
For example, a lot of people have played and GMed The Confirmation. You could try to recruit GMs to play in your game and feel free to ask for feedback in the discussion thread.
I suggest you start with one scenario. Don't start off with multipart scenarios or modules, and definitely don't begin with an Adventure Path. I didn't understand the preparation behind GMing until I tried, and I'm glad I started easy.

There is a sorta guide for New GMs.
Its at the top of this thread with all the useful links.

My character sheet / alias has been lost in an editing fault.
I was editing a different alias, hit "save changes", and the changes got applied to this alias instead, overwriting the pre-existing character sheet.
Anyone else ever had this?
I've made a thread in Website Feedback to see if they can restore the original details. I am currently using this PC in Assault of Absablom. I have a paper copy of the sheet, but it won't have all the changes from the current scenario :/

Posting this as I am sure not everyone is aware on how to manually hide a thread from their Campaigns Tab. Quite a few of them are currently locked out with the forum bug that has been happening. Here are some quick instructions to at least get it off of your Campaigns Tab.

Are Paizo staff working to fix the problem with the "Edit This Campaign" function?
And are they working on the problem with posts getting lost/not appearing after clicking on the "Submit Post" link?
I'm still experiencing issues with both functions.

Now if only I could see 5/5ths of a post on my phone instead of just 4/5ths the world would be a better place.
