So it seems I signed up twice for Siege of the Diamond City (and I also signed up Stonelords) ...I PM'd GM Weenerton and he removed me from the spread sheet...I removed myself from GM Uktar's spread sheet...just wanted to offer apologies ...I wasn't getting greedy...I thought I saw a post saying we could sign up for 2 games...by VL Redelia but, it turned out I read it wrong (only if 1 of the games was Cosmic Captive or another play forum other than Paizo)...

As far as what happened on Siege of the Diamond City...I really don't know seems I signed up for 2 games same tier with the same character just different GMs....thinking it might be a copy and paste error..
anyway I'm heading out the door...could someone in our fantastic community (if they have time) PM GM Uktar for me and let him/her know they have a slot open now? (if not I'll do it later tonight)

thx again everyone and sorry :(

Thanks for your honesty and active reparations. c: I think we all know that the internet can be glitchy at the best of times -- and that communication errors happen literally every day. It's really cool of you to outright express your situation instead of quietly erasing it and hiding away.

It's also possible that at least the two tables of Diamond City were my error. It could have happened when I created a new table or else when I shifted a few people to keep tables legal.

Hi, everyone.

Very soon, I'll be starting a discussion about how PFS specials work, intended for GMs who are new to running PFS multi-table specials, or else who have GMed MTS's in person but would like to know how they work in PbP. Hopefully everyone who is GMing for RetroCon has been invited to participate if interested by their overseer, but I also want to invite those who are not going to GM for RetroCon, but might like to GM a multi-table special for another PbP convention soon.

If this applies to you, please dot in HERE. You may either dot and delete, or introduce yourself.

What stat build do most GMs on here have players do?
20 point buy, 4d6-lowest roll or something else?
Does it even really matter?

Well yeah, I would say it sort of matters for the type of game you and your players want to be playing. Is it going to be a gritty game (NPC arrays or 15 point buy, everyone gets to play one orc warrior as stated out of the Bestiary) or epic and mythic (25+ point buy)? It also depends on how old skool you want to play (six 3d6s in order period! That's it, no re-rolls), and more generally how much variance your group wants at the table.

If we are talking about Pathfinder Society organized play I would suggest getting the most recent version of their Guild Guide (located somewhere on the site for free), which has an appendix-worth of rules for character creation, including:

Ability Scores wrote:
Roleplaying Guild characters purchase their ability scores as detailed on page 15 of the Core Rulebook. Pathfinder Roleplaying Guild is a high-fantasy roleplaying campaign, so you have 20 points to spend on your character’s ability scores. The costs for ability scores are given in Table 1–1 on page 16 of the Core Rulebook. You may not buy a score lower than 7 or higher than 18. Racial modifiers are applied after spending points; as a result of applying such modifiers, you could begin play with ability scores as low as 5 or as high as 20. Do not alter your character’s ability scores as a result of her age category.

All PFS organized play characters have to conform to these (and a number of other) rules.

Thanks!

Question: Weapon Familiarity: Elves are proficient with longbows (including composite longbows), longswords, rapiers, and shortbows (including composite shortbows), and treat any weapon with the word "elven" in its name as a martial weapon.

Does this add to Druid Weapon list like it does Wizards, etc. or is the Druid Weapon list un-alterable?

Scarab Sages

What? Pseudonatural Lich gestalt Ghul Lord/Warlock/Truenamer/Psychic/Wild Mage

Druids are admittedly an unusual case, but I think the answer is 'yes, it adds to a Druid's options like everyone else's' - last I checked, a Druid's spiritual proscriptions only apply to armor, not weapons (and longbows wouldn't even be a problem in any case).

Good morn or day or night to you, as appropriate!

Ran into a bit of a sticky question in a game I am running. Does anyone know how non-lehtal damage and a telekineticist's forceward interact? Normally temporary hp and non-lethal don't mix so it seems like it should jsut add to the non-lethal from burn (which would make nonlethal very strong!)

Now to further muddy the water, how does the minimum damage (1 non-lethal damage on a damage roll less that 1) interact? Does it count as an ability or because it's universal and based on the damage roll and not the hit, does it always affect the target?

If need be I can readily take this to the rules forums but thought I'd check if there was a quick answer to be found here first!

He doesn't believe in 'game balance'. He belongs to a prestige class whose sole requirement for entry is being him. ♬ He is indeed, the most interesting GM in the world. ♬ | Oathbreakers DIE! | What Prestige is Worth

The latter of your two questions is pretty foundational to the way damage works.

Minimum Damage wrote:
If penalties reduce the damage result to less than 1, a hit still deals 1 point of nonlethal damage.

So I would say yes, minimum damage seems to apply (pretty much always). So if whatever hit the character hit them it should do 1 point of non-lethal damage. Things like DR, or immunity to non-lethal damage might further mitigate the damage.

As for the former, non-lethal interacts with temporary hp in that temporary hp add to a character's current total hp, and therefore makes them more resilient to non-lethal damage (see here for both--scroll down for non-lethal). Since nonlethal is kept in one big account and not separated by cause, all instances of non-lethal damage get lumped together into one running total be it caused by psychic burn, heatstroke, or being hit in the head with a sap.

Hey folks. I'm new to playing PFS here, and I'm not familiar with everything yet.

Where exactly is this spreadsheet that is supposed to be available to sign up for PFS games?

Welcome Blaydsong.

There's recruitment going on quite often in the recruitment tab.
The GMs on the board will post a call out with the mission and level/tier in which it will be played.

Some have links to a spreadsheet, but responding with what you have available works too. If you're picked you'll know soon enough when keeping tabs on the new posts that arrive thereafter.

Ok. Thank you very much. :)

Np.

Also, they'll mention whether a game will be played Classic (all PFS legal material to date) or Core (CRB and limited materials)

Go here for RetroCon (which depending on where you live started yesterday-ish). People like hiding these links for some reason--it's like they don't want you to play. There might still be some open spaces, but post on the recruitment thread at the top of the page too.

RetroCon is linked at the top of this page. Clicking that link will take you to the thread for RetroCon, which includes the instructions, so it's is much better to go there than go directly to the spreadsheet.

Welcome to Flaxseed Lodge! As was mentioned, our online convention RetroCon has just begun, so recruitment is a little outside the norm at the moment. But usually, there are games kicking off on a regular basis and GMs will put out a call on the Recruitment tab. If you make a post in the Gameplay tab of this Flaxseed thread, it will show up on your Campaigns page. That makes it easier to watch for posts in recruitment.

If you have any more questions about recruitment or play-by-post or anything else you can ask here - we're a friendly bunch! Also feel free to send me a PM anytime.

Do you have a PFS character you're hoping to use for a PbP scenario? If you have something you're looking for we might be able to help you find a game.

I don't have anything specific that I 'have' to play, but I do have a couple level 2 characters and a new level 1 that I would like to use occasionally. (They don't see much love in my local PFS group.)

For anyone that may be interested, they would be:
Level 1 Tiefling Vigilant (Warlock)
Level 2 Elven Bard (Dervish Dancer)
Level 2(3?) Elven Warpriestess of Calistria

Hello Everyone.

We've had some recent shifts in the Online VO corps, and I wanted to make sure you all knew. Magabeus was my first VA here at Flaxseed, and then my first Venture Lieutenant. But he's found that he needs a bit more time for his family, so he's stepping down.

We've promoted Tyranius (former Castamir's VA and our SFS Specials Overseer) to be one of our two Venture Lieutenants. (The other VL is Redelia, who's still with us!)

And who will be VA at Castamir's? GM Kuey!

So lots of changes!

Hmm
