Rammellorn you are not even in the same room as the bard, sorry. D-9 has the goblin in it. You can use your reach weapon from B9 if you want to avoid an AoO, plus there are crates in your way at C9 which will require a climb check.

You can see a decent sized cave tht is 15 bu 20 ft, which contains a campfire, crates lined up in a defensive fashion, like the others you've encountered. There are three goblins there ready for the attack.

Kalim from an intimidation POV there are only two goblins that could arguable see or hear you but they are 40 and 45 feet away from you. Plus there are to PCs, vatilda and Varl, blocking the line of sight.

I feel bad getting so far behind on the pace, but now is the best time for me to post. I am okay with it if it is not disruptive to anyone else. My other pbps are pretty slow.
I put a little more information up in the campaign tab regarding the surrounding wilderness areas. These areas can be very challenging, there are 24 written encounters , several are themselves mini-dungeons and one very greedy dragon. of course, you will not go through many of those events. Then there are 52 levels of dungeon, including the main entrance. The challenge is deciding which entrance options to present.

It happens occasionally, regardless of what a tab shows I tend to check my gameplay tab every day just to be sure.
I have a hectic early part of the day tomorrow, so my posting won't be until the afternoon and later.
As far as posting is concerned I like my games to move, this is not an occasional post game. I mentioned that in the recruitment. This game will be slower from my standard, but faster than most games people have been involved in. It may not be for everyone as it becomes easy to get overwhelmed with posts.
I'm not trying to be difficult, but I want everyone to be realistic, and it's ok to bow out if you need to. The key is to have fun.

Hey guys, for thoese that are new, first rule to RPG's: don't split the party. If you had went to check out the smoke without us, you could have been amushed and killed. Horn or no horn, a dwarf could only run so fast. Second, if there's smoke, then theres a fire. Being careful is the name of the game here. If you see something odd, or unusual, don't be the only one with a secret. Wake up the other group members. The last thing you want is to be aware of a possible danger and not warn the other people in your party. I don't think Baldwin is going to pull a single punch here and I don't want to have a TPK 700-800 posts in. Lets be smart.

Splitting the party can be bad but I'm not looking for deaths. Deaths happen, and will happen in this adventure, but I do try to provide options to get yourself out of many situations. You will find that I like to soften up the group, especially since your a large party, and get you to use resources.
Right now, I'm really emphasizing the RP, so each character's personality can develop. The LG paladin should act completely different than the CN sorcerer soldier, you can see Rammellorn's dilemma tugging at him. I will say everyone has taken advantage of that it's interesting to see how each character comes alive.
Kalim- I noticed that thanks. I would suspect and hope that your reaction to the smoke would be completely different then the paladin, especially given your alignment and your background.
I may still add a second full arcane caster to bring the party up to 8, because this can be bear of game. However, I want everyone to get a chance to RP and develop their character, so I'm holding off on that decision right now. The party is developing a good RP chemistry.
I'm on line all the time and usually have computer access. I'm self employed so I don't have anyone breathing down my neck. Last night I RP'd the NPC guard because a couple players were on line.
Do you want to provide me with general default marching order that I can use for maps. I assumed on the first map that Agrrim the rogue was few feet in front, then put the row dwarves followed the casters.
