Quickly moving into the southwest corner.
Bloody 'Ell what is this guy doin...hope this isnt too loud would like to keep a little semblance of surprise.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

As everyone else scatters, Lucifer goes toward the table with the human and spider parts and gets the bucket of stinky old blood. As he turns back toward the pressure plates the spider legs sewn to the body briefly convulse, then stop. Lucifer tosses the bucket, which weighs almost as much as he does, into the air and it lands on the pressure plate. The bucket breaks and blood flows across the floor, but it was enough to trigger the trap. The trap doors on the ceiling open up and in an instant a cage is surrounding the area with the pressure plates. A skeleton hanging from a harness in the cage loosens itself free and moves toward Lucifer. Though it is trapped in the cage.

Voldarus quickly draws and fires 2 blunt arrows at the skeleton.
Arrow 1: 1d20 + 7 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 7 - 2 - 4 = 15
Arrow 2: 1d20 + 7 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 7 - 2 - 4 = 12
Damage 1: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Damage 2: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
So my initiative changed to a +5 from last time, which would put me below Hovok, which only really matters because if Lucifer and the skeleton haven't acted yet are they technically threatening each other? If they are not I don't take those -4's, it's a bit tricky in pbp because I am posting first.

![]() |

I also switched my wis and dex stats before this one so my init. is +1 unless this counts as underground where it would be +3
Hovok moves around the cage before taking a swing at the skeleton
Assuming there is enough room between the bars for me to make an attempt at the skeleton.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Orovan pulls out his longspear and moves around to poke at the monster from a distance.
"Stay back!" He warns the others, knowing it can't reach them if they don't approach the cage.
Longspear: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13, Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
At least it's vs flat-footed

![]() |

One more level and I'll get my bonuses for underground

![]() |

Lucifer chuckles at the skeleton in the cage, "Wow... interesting trap." He then steps out of reach of the skeleton and lets the others with reach/range weapons ready do their stuff.
5' Step, and then waits to see if he is still up for Round 2.

![]() |

With the threat of both the trap and the skeleton removed. Lucifer goes about searching the room for any interesting items and possibly another secret door. "If there was one secret door, there are likely others."
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

Gimble, The Storyteller |

There is a secret door at the north-east corner of the room. Hidden amongst the clutter on the table are 2 potions, a scroll tube, and 6 long needles with 3 feet of waxed silk threaded through each of them.
As Lucifer searches the table the loose spider limbs twitch briefly.

![]() |

Orovan puts away his spear and trades it for his greataxe. He looks at the abominations in disgust. "You know what? This needs to stop." He moves to bisect the corpses and part the unnatural limbs from their new body.

![]() |

After Lucifer finishes his searching, "Lets see. There is another secret door in the north-east corner. Also found 2 potions, a scroll tube, and these strange needles with silk threads. Maybe magical?"
Lucifer opens the scroll tube to see what might be in it.

![]() |

Orovan approaches with a hand outstretched towards the potions. "Let me try."

should've take 10

Orovan hands off the potions to the weird little gnome guy. "Uh... Sure. But I don't think they're actually magic anymore." He shrugs, picks up his ax, and leans against the wall near the rogue.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Lucifer opens the scroll tube to find two magical scrolls (Neilman can cast Read Magic to identify them as a scroll Fly and a scroll of Fireball) and a scroll with a sigil on it labeled in both Azlanti and Common as "Four."
The sigil on the scroll is similar to the scroll found on the previous floor. The sigil is similar to that of an Arcane Mark.
The "twitching" of the limb while disconcerning is not necromantic.
It is instead caused by an alternate energy in the room.

![]() |

Linguistics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Reading the scroll. "Hmm... it is like the one we found on the first floor. Another Arcane Mark-like sigil. I wonder what purposes these scrolls serve."
After looking over the scroll, Lucifer heads toward the secret door to the north-east and opens it. (if he can)

Know Arcana: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Untrained Heal: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
"You're right Lucifer it is similar to the other one," Voldarus agrees with the rogue.
He then walks back and picks up his bow and seems to whisper to it. "Sorry I keep throwing you, I just finally found some...friends... you might say and I don't want to shoot them in the back. We'll practice when we next get a chance. Haven't had much need to not hit others have we?"

"So many secret doors for this room." Lucifer opens the new secret door.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Lucifer opens the next secret door:
This large stone chamber contains two clusters of four stone caskets each. In the center of the room, between the two groupings, stands an empty, unlit iron brazier that is covered with soot and smells faintly of past fires. Drapes of dust-covered spider webs cling to the ceiling.

![]() |

Are they thick enough that we can't see the ceiling (or you know, that *certain things* might be lurking in them)?

Are they thick enough that we can't see the ceiling (or you know, that *certain things* might be lurking in them)?
The webs are dense enough to hide the ceiling and maybe "certain things."

![]() |

survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Voldarus inspects the webs. "These are too old," Voldarus says of the webs. "Whatever made them's likely gone by now. I wonder if it wasn't that cut up spider we saw back there."
He makes his way over to the closest casket and inspects it.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Lucifer goes around inspecting the room and searching for more traps or secret doors.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

Orovan grunts at Voldarus' assessment, but keeps his eyes cast upward just the same.
"I hate spiders."
He grips his longspear tightly as he moves, as though to ward off death from above.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Voldarus and Lucifer enter the room first. As Voldarus makes his way to the closest casket:
A chill breeze arises from nowhere with an eerie howl. The room seems to darken, and in the sudden gloom, scores of small spectral eyeballs appear, drifting with the breeze. They peer intensely before fading away.

![]() |

"That was creepy. Looks at the casters in the group. Could that have been some type of spell?"

![]() |

Hovok enters the room moving to the center of the closer group of caskets keeping a close eye for any threats while keeping his warhammer swinging loosely in his hand.
Wonder if someone knows we are here now?
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 13

Gimble, The Storyteller |

@Lucifer: Scouting the room you don't notice any other secret doors in the area. Nor do you notice any immediate traps.
@Neilman: You get a faint, lingering aura from the effect that just took place. (spellcraft needed to determine more). You also sense a faint aura from the south-western most casket (knowledge arcana to know more).

![]() |

Lucifer glances around at the caskets. "Should we investigate what might be in these caskets or leave them alone?" he directs toward his companions.

![]() |

Lets start with these 4 and then move to the other side of the room unless Neilman a reason not too...Assuming that spell was for information gathering?
Looking at the brawler while limbering his shield and warhammer.
You want to bracket these in while Lucifer searches them?
Pulling out his longhammer talking under his breathe.
We need to get you a name my friend.

"Not sure it's right, shaking down a man's grave. It's the last rest he'll have before Groetus takes us all."
Just being my IC emo self. I'll flank with the dwarf as proposed, with my greataxe.

![]() |

Lucifer moves to the top left coffin and pushes on the lid to see if it will open as he readies himself to see what lies beneath. Lucifer sings in a low voice to himself. "A tombraiding we go..."

![]() |

Voldarus moves into the room to provide some space. "We are s'pposed to learn as much as we can," he trains his bow on the caskets and gets ready to fire if any undead pop out.
Readied action to fire a blunt arrow if anything springs out of the casket, if we open them that is
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Gimble, The Storyteller |

@Neilman: You can't quite identify the spell used, but you're pretty sure it was cast by quite an experienced spellcaster.
Lucifer opens the casket. As he goes to appear inside, a skeleton promptly stands up in the coffin. Voldarus's arrow flies at the skeleton, but the arrow just nicks one of its ribs and flies harmlessly through it's ribcage.

![]() |

Welp that isn't too much of a surprise glad we stirred them now rather than surprised later.
So saying Hovok moves into position and takes a wild swing at the skeleton.
Believe I moved myself into position to reach him if not just move me into position on the map.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 2 + 4 = 23
Damage: 2d6 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (1, 6) + 6 + 3 = 16
Just checking but the 1.5 str mod was only for damage...know that I have played it incorrectly before but couldn't remember.

![]() |

Orovan shoulders his axe and swings a fist at the skeleton confidently. "To the boneyard with you!" I'm guessing this one will be down, so move me to another (or a readied action for another) if need be.
Unarmed: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8, Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
I suppose if I get can get one while it's still flat-footed & prone...

![]() |

Seeing the first skeleton go down, Lucifer moves into position to take on the possible other skeletons that rise from the coffins.
Moves to the center of the room, so he can move where needed the next round.
