Lucifer informs everyone that he has found a secret door. "There is a pattern to this level of the tower's design. It seems secret doors are on the outer rooms."
When everyone is gathered and whatever healing is done, he opens the secret door and steps through.

![]() |

Lucifer moves through the hallway. Smiling that he was right about the apparent pattern to this floor. He mumbles, "If they are going to make secret doors, they shouldn't make them so obvious."

![]() |

Orovan follows closely behind the rogue. "You didn't see the first one."
I'm sure you didn't mean that to be a conversation, but since I'm right behind you and have pretty good perception, and I thought it was funny...

Wondering where the rest of the party is, Hovok returns to the room. Seeing an open doorway in the wall he quickly follows to try to get back up front where he feels he belongs.
Trying ta leave me back there.

"Sorry, I'm coming," Voldarus says as he hurries to catch up with the group.

Lucifer opens the secret door and looks to see what is beyond before moving forward.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Lucifer opens the door:
A few wisps of decayed webbing hang from the walls of this room, but there’s none on the stone ceiling and no sign of spiders in the room. The ceiling is blank save for four 1-footwide, round steel medallions, one set into each corner. The floor is equally bare except for a pedestal in the center of the floor made of a single five-foot-square block of stone, about two feet high. On the pedestal sits a metal-framed wooden chest, and to the side of the pedestal rests a shallow hole in the floor housing what looks like a brass door handle set into the stone. A stone tile lying loose nearby is clearly designed to fit over the hole, concealing the handle.

Orovan checks around for hidden triggers, doors, or other items hiding from sight.

Lucifer scans the room and chuckles, "Agreed. The place screams trap."
He slowly enters the room and starts searching the place for anything that stands out.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22; Extra +1 to locate traps.

![]() |

Lucifer looks up where the ceiling joins the walls, "I've located two more secret doors," he points to them. "And it looks like the ceiling might be designed to collapse so be extra careful. Considering the placement of the 'chest', it screams trap. So do you want to see what might be in it or skip it?"

![]() |

Lets skip for now and come back wouldn't want to have to fight after wards rather clear the level and then come back to take some time solving this trap...South or East next? I'm voting south.

![]() |

"South sounds okay with me."
Lucifer heads to the southern secret door, when everyone is ready he will open it and move beyond.

![]() |

"Lets keep moving," Voldarus agrees, but does give the chest a quick glance, but doesn't get too close and makes sure not to touch anything.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

![]() |

Lucifer moves forward to the next secret door and when the others have gathered, he will open it to see what is beyond.

![]() |

Voldarus moves up and takes a spot to the side of the door, making sure to leave a path for the front line fellows of the group.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

As everyone moves up, Lucifer opens the door:
Shabby, mold-covered tapestries hang from ceiling hooks, cloaking one wall of this chamber in faded forest hunting scenes. While probably of decent quality when new, they look sad now.
A plain wooden chair of massive construction stands centered before the tapestries, facing into the room. A large stone table stands against the eastern wall. Weapons and other items are neatly laid out on the table, as if displayed for sale in a shop.
As the door opens a booming voice comes from the skeleton in the throne, "Who is it that enters my sanctum!?! Why have you come!?!"

Sense Motive DC15: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Before completely entering the room, Lucifer whispers to his companions, "Something is not right. Their mouths aren't moving. Maybe some kind of decoy."
Lucifer then switches his sword to his other hand and draws his sling for use against skeletons before entering into the room.
Perception (for other dangers): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Personally if they aren't moving lets just smash them before they change their mind.
So saying Hovok moves into the room readying his longhammer to smash the one on the throne.

![]() |

Does Voldarus know about the secrete door that is to the North? I moved Voldarus to it.
He checks the door for traps and seeing none enters.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
If he does not know about the door, or detects a trap he will let the group know and enter through the door we are all at.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

2d20 ⇒ (5, 20) = 25
As the group enters through the door the voice, once again, calls out, "I asked you a question! Who enters my sanctum!?! Now, approach no further and answer me!"
@Lucifer: You perceive no other dangers.
@Jafit: You do not detect any magic in the direction of the skeletons.
@Voldarus: The door is not locked nor trapped.

Not one to really talk to undead, Lucifer simply states. "Here is why." As he points his finger at the skeleton sitting on the throne and lets loose a ray of positive energy.

Orovan's mind is working hard on the issue when he suddenly seems to realize something. "We're explorers!" He calls out, just as Lucifer fires at a skeleton.
"I don't think those are undead." He tried to whisper to the rogue.

![]() |

Either that or behind another one of these doors.
A little lower turning slightly towards the group.
So how do we want to handle this? Wish we knew where the voice was coming from so we could get a better feel if hostile or just wary?

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Sorry, it's taken me so long to post this week. It's been an exceptionally busy couple of weeks.
Orovan calls out to the skeletons, and Neilman makes a great attempt to a peaceful outcome, but Lucifer shoots off a ray of positive energy toward the skeletons.
"Explorers!?! If you don't mean to cause trouble, why do you attack!?!" And with that, the skeletons move to defend themselves.

Orovan suffers a gash but isn't deterred. He uses the shaft of his spear to pivot into position between the skeletons and throw a kick at the more northern foe.
Unarmed: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18, Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
I think that's the one from the throne.

Knew I should have just gone ahead and attacked the one on the throne earlier.
Even while thinking this Hovok quickly takes a swing at the one to the south of Orovan.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 2 + 4 = 18
Damage: 2d6 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 + 3 = 12
After connecting with that one Hovok drops his longhammer and readies his shield to take on the one that is in his face.

Not sure about the action economy on that one, unless it's a quickdraw shield or buckler (or the long hammer is one-handed)

The Ifrit reaches within himself for his energy, for his enthusiasm for life, and casts CLW before stepping up and reaching out to the skeleton to his left (lowest on the map).

Longhammer has reach and attack is standard action, free action to drop, and then move to ready shield unless I missed something with the economy which is very possible.
