Doesn't using Perception to identify a potion mean tasting it? If it does then Voldarus will try and help only as a last resort.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
In the mean time he takes out a torch from his back and sparks his flint and steel lighting it and handing it to anyone who needs it.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Jafit knows the potions to be Cure Moderate Wounds.
As Voldarus strikes up the torch, you notice the light from the torch is consumed by the darkness after only 5 feet.
Clarification: Darkvision can see as they normally see. Light sources only have a 5' radius for those with both normal and low-light as the magical darkness consumes all light beyond that 5'. Let me know who has the light source and I'll create a yellow square around lit areas.

"It is a potion of healing. Almost good enough to heal Hovok, as hardy as he is. Here, hold his head like *this*, keeping your thumbs along his jawline. Just like that. Perfect. Now, let's force him to drink this. No, you don't need to move. I've got it."
With the help of whomever volunteers, Jafit will force-feed the potion to Hovok for 2d8+3 healing (Roll your own, Hovok, since it is a potion).

![]() |

Healing: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (6, 2) + 3 = 11
Sitting up Hovok reaches for his hammer before standing up looking around.
Damn lucky blow for that goblin...Guess now isn't the time to be lying down...thanks for the healing.
Seeing the remains of the goblin that Vold struck down.
Who killed this one...looks to have been a damn good blow.
Damn thought I had a potion of CLW on Hung but that was the other fighter.
Anyone found the source of this darkness?
Assuming the magically darkness is still in play or is it just regular now? Also, assuming the potion wouldn't cure the disease from the dog and would Hovok be aware of it or would it be more of a nagging ache for him.

![]() |

With his darkvision, Lucifer looks to see if he can find the source of the darkness spell.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

![]() |

"aye, That'd be me. Crushed the bugger I did. You feeling better? Took a nasty hit there" He says to Hovok.
"Sorry if that light doesn't do much, we'll find the source of this darkness so you folk can see n here" he adds at the sight of the touchs light being swallowed by darkness.
Voldarus nocks an arriw and peers into the next room.

![]() |

At Jafit.
A little more healing would be appreciated especially since we just started. Will have to make sure I get some more potions for myself when we head back to town at some point.
Heads into the turret that the last goblin came out of to see if there is anything worth taking.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

Neilmin |

I couldn't sense anything with my magic something has to be making this must be strong magic or something
Looking around for any source of what could be causing the darkness
perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Gimble, The Storyteller |

For now I'm going to have Bolvurn hold the torch as he is the closest one to Voldarus without darkvision. You can change that when you want.
Jafit pours one of the goblins' potions down Hovok's throat and heals him a bit more. Hovok is now awake and mostly healed.
From what Neilman gathered before, there's not necessarily any central location that he knows about regarding the location of the darkness spell, but more in the construction of the building.
123: 3d20 ⇒ (8, 9, 9) = 26
Those with darkvision peer into the next room:
This large foyer seems to have been the main tower entrance, but the grand doorway leading outside is now a broken mass of glass rubble. Crumbling archways lead to the east and west.

![]() |

Thanks Jafit...Really tight around here positioning looks like it will be important...How do we want to line up to search?
Enters the next room looking around after receiving Jafit's CLW with shield and war hammer ready.
Will take point...unless Lucifer wants to scout just let me know.

![]() |

I suppose that I'll hold the torch as the only person who can't see in the darkness.
Bolvurn glances around at his compatriots, and inwardly curses his inability to see in the dark. Regardless, he accepts the offered torch as they continue on into the Spire.

![]() |

"We know there are goblins here, so I suspect there will be traps. So I think it will be good idea for me to scout a little bit ahead of the group. So we don't run into anything without preparation."
With that said, Lucifer slips into the next room and scans the area.
Stealth: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

Lucifer suddenly stops in his tracks, he looks back at the others. He points to his eyes and then holds three fingers up. He then points to each corner of the doorway. And then points further on.
He motions for then to come forward but slowly and prepare to fight. Lucifer then takes a 5' step, putting his back up against the wall before the doorway.
Stealth (if needed): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29

Voldarus leans into the light and passes on the miming done by Lucifer, though with much less grace, to Bolvurn. Then raises his bow and steps lightly around the corner.
stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Everyone go ahead and let me know what you are doing and move your tokens forward as wanted.

![]() |

knowledge dungeneering: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
He taps Hovok and points to the rope. Maybe the dwarf is more knowledgeable of such things
Im on my phone I'll try and move my token tomorrow but if we progress before I get a chance I am planning to move 2W 1N of Lucifer

Gimble, The Storyteller |

The area that would be affected is a 15' square, the center being the 5' square in the doorway just to the left of blue. I hope that's clear.

![]() |

Bolvurn holds the torch in one hand, and his light crossbow in the other. As combat begins, he tosses the torch towards the goblins in an attempt to see them and readies himself to shoot.

![]() |

Whispers
That rope will collapse a section of the roof over the tower but will need to rush the remaining enemies afterwards.
Will let someone else grab the rope if we are going that way and will move forward to attack the red goblin when we start the combat.
If the red is still alive after the roof comes down on his head, and will probably switch to my longhammer before we advance if we are pulling on the rope.

![]() |

Could the rope be shot?
Voldarus aims up at the rope and looks at Hovok woth a shrug.

![]() |

Would Neilman be able to move it with Mage Hand or is the resistance too great for the spell to move?
Whispers
Neilman do you have a spell that can pull the rope?

Gimble, The Storyteller |

It would take more than 5 pounds of pressure to pull the rope with any effect.
As everyone is discussing their plans, the goblins seem to tire of waiting and begin to whisper to each other. All of a sudden blue yells something and red runs into the middle of the room screaming waving his dogslicer. Purple and blue start a fit of high-pitched uncontrollable laugher as Red stops in the middle of the room looking back at his comrads, confused.
Lucifer: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

So I finally got to my computer and I moved Voldarus to where I had previously said he would be. The goblin is now right next to me, but I assume that because I go first in initiative that all of this would happen before that and wouldn't incur AOO's correct?
Voldarus takes a shot at the red goblin then drops his bow and pulls out his club.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3

Gimble, The Storyteller |

With the goblin cursing out his comrads, Voldarus fires am arrow at point blank range sticking the goblin in the back with an arrow.
The goblin just now realizing he's surrounded by enemies withdraws to the tower. The goblin moved as to not provoke an AoO
Blue, having tricked his comrad into running into battle by himself, seeing him get stuck with an arrow, and then run away, is laughing too hard to act on his turn.
I'm on my phone and having trouble moving Red. Red is right behind blue now.

If anyone can pull that rope now our friends in the tower will really have something to laugh about, but I'm just going to greet their other friend.
Hovok moves forward and attacks the purple goblin.
Believe I can attack around that corner being a Dwarf makes it hard to close sometimes.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 1 - 1 = 12
Damage: 1d8 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 2 = 12
Though probably doesn't matter with only a 12 on the attack.

Bolvurn moves up towards the rest of the party, his torch casting flickering light on the walls.
I want to toss the torch into the middle of the next room to try and provide some light to attack by. What kind of roll do you want?

Pick a square you want to throw the torch in. Roll an attack as you would a splash weapon.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Sorry for the delay, it's been a busy holiday.
