Trevor's and Malphene's Wedding Reception!

In the early afternoon, a minority of patrons were asked to leave Grandbridge's Cayden's Mug Tavern. The staff at Cayden's Mug quickly clean ed and set up long tables for for the long-awaited wedding reception of Oppara's Own Sir Trevor and Dame Malphene Kastner. The local caydenite generally treated huge celebrations like this as unofficial holy days. Every true caydenite within 50 miles, as well as all the wedding guests were invited.

The wedding party entered first, the beaming Bride and Groom smiling and meeting all the staff as they came forward. In a very short time, Trevor went from a local celebrity to a nationally-recognized man of faith. So the wedding party sat together at the main table, while relatives of the groom sat nearest to the main table. Instead of gold and silver, the tavern was decorated with Cayden's colors: silver and tan. The remaining guests had open seating, something the older guard noticeably did not like. But this was standard for most caydenite taverns, so those who didn't like it could leave. Those that stayed got a small wooden red hound at their place settings: a tribute to Cayden's famous hound: Thunder.

One end of the tavern was a solid wall of tables dedicated to the massive buffet of food. Roasted pig, baked potatoes with sour cream and butter, warm biscuits, broccoli, asparagus, green beans, and all manner of mince pies and pasties were available to all. Meeting the new Bride and Groom was wonderful, but the main draw for the Faithful was the open bar, a rare sight in any caydenite tavern, again made possible by the Kastner Family.

After everyone got some food and drink in front of them, Trevor stood on his chair to address the entire tavern.

"My Good Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to Malphene's and my Wedding Reception!" The entire tavern erupted in thunderous shouting and clapping. "It is an unbelievable honor to have you all here today in his most holy building to celebrate our holy union!" More thunderous applause and shouting. "Those who have not been inside a caydenite tavern before: shame on you! But is it accepted and expected to raise your glasses to each other and to our most illustrious sponsor and guiding force, Oppara's Own, Cayden Cailean! And as one of his humble clerics, I ask you all to raise your glasses with me, as I toast and pray."

"Cayden Cailean! Boss! Thank you for being a guiding force in my life. A life that had lead me to a truly unique and remarkable woman, who has seen fit, despite her better judgement, to join her life with mine, join my family and walk this life together. Oh Merry Insurgent, I kindly ask that you bless our union. May our triumphs be many, our quarrels be short, our makeups be memorable, and our lives together happy within each other's arms. Please bless all in attendance, both now and later. May this day be memorable and any discomfort tomorrow morning be brief!" A wave of chuckles ripples across the tavern. "I raise my glass to you, Drunken Hero, now and always! TO CAYDEN CAILEAN!" The tavern answers in unison and drinks their raised glasses.

Every few minutes, someone would call a toast. Mostly to the happy coupe, some to Cayden Cailean, and many to those in attendance. Malphene held court at the main table, talking with everyone who came up to congratulate her and Trevor. The couple were tasked to kiss with the banging of silverware on empty mugs and tankards. After everyone got some food and drink in them, Trevor left the main table and walked the tavern, shaking hands, meeting other faithful and family members.

Blood, like wine:
It was unsure how long he stood there, but motes of consciousness came back to him. Looking down, he was dressed in finery, but it was soaked in blood. But the blood looked black. In fact, as he looked around his environment, everything took on hues to black to light grey. And he was not alone, others were with him. All standing in a long line. An impossibly long line. Above them all, something shown in the distance. Looking up, he could see a massive gleaming white structure; yet so tall, the light atop the spire could be seen for miles and miles. Motes of understand formed in his head.

That..that is The Spire”, he remembered. Her name..Pharasma..'The Lady of Graves' rules there.

He looked around. Am I..dead?

Before he could ponder further, a bloodcurdling cackle roared above them all, as color reentered the scene. A red flaming chariot flew down upon the line, lead by two horse-like creatures of inky blackness. Fire spurts from its hair and nostrils. Guiding the flying chariot was a dark-skinned crone with sharp teeth and eyes as red as the nightmare's manes. The night hag stopped her chariot nearby and grabbed the soul in front of him.

”You'll do”, the night hag sneered, roughly grabbing the soul bound for Pharasma's Palace. The evil outsider tossed the petitioner into her chariot.

A great well of injustice welled up inside him. This was wrong. She had to be stopped! NOW!

His face contorted into rage, instinctively drawing a rapier that wasn't there before, made of the same soulstuff as he. ”Let! Him! Go!”

He roared with surprise and pain as his back erupted with two wings. Two glowing wings of azure with peacock-like feathers.

The night hag's eyes were drawn to him, the gleamed with avarice. ”Oh! An aasimar soul! You'll fetch a pretty coin on the infernal markets!”

He slashed at the night hag with his sword, but found no purchase. The night hag's clawed hand came very close to his shoulder. But then the world had erupted in light as four lighting bolts rocketed down around the night hag and the aasimar soul. Despite the strikes, the night hag barely was singed.

”Damn it all!” The night hag cursed. ”I'm outnumbered! Blast it all!”

With incredible speed, the night hag got back on her chariot with her ill-gotten soul and flew away, dodging more lightning, from what looked like four long-haired men flying in the sky. Two split from the pack to harrier the dark chariot away. The remaining two landed near the aasimar soul. Both men had elven ears behind silver locks of hair. One of them spoke.

”Trevor? Trevor. Do you remember me?”

Memories slowly began to flood his mind, like a glacier emptying into a valley. A summoner..brought the being that was speaking..into the Material Plane. The being before him helped..us. His coterie. His family.

”Trevor..”, the aasimar soul spoke with uncertainty. ”Trevor. That's what they called me.”

The bralani coughed. ”The Boss sent us to gather you.” The azata looked behind Trevor at his wings. ”How very interesting. Even now, your azatal heritage has come to full bloom. A sight to behold.”

The other bralani elbowed the first one, with a look of reminding. ”Ah, yes!” The first bralani spoke again. ”Time is short. Even here. Come with us.”

Looking above, the two azata who followed the night hag's exit returned. ”She got away.”, the floating bralani stated defeatedly.

”Make sure to pass it on to the psychopomps at The Spire. The security in this branch of The Dead Roads needs more eyes on it!”

The two bralani nodded and began to fly toward Pharasma's Palace in the distance.

”We got to go”, the quiet bralani until now said, holding a firm hand on Trevor's shoulder. Then all three beings, azata and mortal soul alike rose into the air. The environment spend below them as darken skies quickly gave way to bright spring days filled with the smell of wildflowers.

Trevor blinked with amazement, allowing his soul to tell him were he was. Elysium. The bralani flew over rolling hills that quickly gave way to a medium-size settlement. It appeared to be a town full of drinking halls, taverns, and brothels. The caydenite's soul felt awe as he knew where he was. Cayden Cailean's Realm. The bralani quickly landing in front of a rowdy tavern made of both common stonework with the occasional massive gems acting as bricks. Trevor steadied himself as he landed.

”The Boss is inside waiting for you. Fare thee well, Trevor Kastner” The formerly summoned bralani smiled as he quickly flew off with the other azata.

Left by himself, Trevor was surrounded by smiling, inebriated races of all shapes and sizes. The drunken carousers gave the cleric room to enter. Once inside, a roar of happiness and laughter greeted Trevor as he entered. The aasimar's back soon became a drum from happy and encouraging well-wishers and fellow patrons. The crowds parted, revealing a path leading to the bar where the magnificent Drunken God was holding court. Cayden Cailean waited for Trevor to see him and let out another cheer, which the whole tavern answered.

”So.” Cayden Cailen chuckled, one hand on his hip, and another holding a full tankard. ”This is the brave little aasimar who tried to fight a clay golem with just a rapier! Not smart. Not smart at all!”

The tavern erupted in good-humored laughter, then quieted down.

Trevor found his voice. ”Well. If I fled, the golem would have attack the defenseless. Malphene..”

The Accidental God cut Trevor off. ”A woman who you must really truly love.”

Trevor's eyes flew wide. Cayden knew of his doubts about the wedding. Because he had prayed to Cayden for advice.

”Overall..” Cayden Cailean said, letting the words hang in the air. ”Not bad. Heroic. Of course. Still not the smartest way to die.”

A small chuckle circled around the Elysium tavern. ”But you still have a lot to do down there. In Taldor.”

Cayden looked at something over his shoulder and look perplexed, like watching a distant event Trevor's eyes couldn't see. ”Huh. A hound archon. Not the way I would go, but, either way. This is goodbye for now, Trevor. Keep the Faith. Always sleep on your side when your drunk. Watch both ways crossing the street. And so on.”

Trevor could feel his soul fading from Elysium. The sounds of the tavern around him gave way to the sound of a strong heartbeat. His heartbeat.

Before the sight of Cayden Cailean faded from view, Trevor shouted out over his heartbeat. ”I invite you to the wedding!!”

Before the darkness of his own eyelids took him, a distant shout of a laugh was heard by Trevor.

”We'll see.........”

Weeelll! With all the additions I made to Josten character sheet today. I lost a lot of his other information due to space. So I will work on making a Google Doc to link all that missing info to Josten's character page. I've never had to split a online character page before due to lack of space.

Thanks everyone for your help in getting Josten correct.

Josten walks away from the screen and absolutely trashes his nearby surroundings in a fit of deific rage and impressive cursing.

An unbelievably handsome young man with long red hair and sapphire eyes makes his way onstage.
"Greetings, all. I'd like to dedicate this next tune to our humble host, Pasha of the Nightsands. Enjoy!"
A Perfect Golden Lute suddenly appears before the young man as he begins to strum the chords.
Perform (string): 1d20 + 55 ⇒ (6) + 55 = 61
Perform (sing): 1d20 + 48 ⇒ (15) + 48 = 63

As the applause dies down after the song, the handsome man addresses those gathered.
"Glad you liked it. Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Josten Cailean. Demigod of Confidence, Positive Energy, and Bards. I am here representing TheWaskally's interest in joining, our host, Pasha's Epic-Level Coliseum Morpheuon Campaign! I'm a Gestalt Godling (mighty)/Bard. Oh. One thing Mr. Waskally wanted me to say was he was sorry he could not include the following spoilers on my character sheet. But, apparently, in making my profile page, TheWaskally found Paizo does indeed have a limit to how much information you can have on one page." Josten shrugs. "Who knew?!!"
"Anyway, I'll stay her and play some more tunes while you check out the spoilers below."

@Pasha:
This is my finalized version of Josten Cailean. Two things to bring to your attention.
1) The ring of improved inspired performance is a third-party item I hope you will allow Josten to keep. If not, I will edit Josten's character page accordingly.
2) I realize the both the ring of improved inspired performance and The Perfect Golden Lute have competence bonuses to Perform (string), but the ring has it for all the other Perform skills and I'd like to keep them of both items are allowed.

The Story of Josten Cailean, Part One: The Planes:
The being born to one day be Josten Cailean, is the offspring from Cayden Cailean, Golarion God of Ale, Bravery, Freedom, and Wine; and Shelyn, Golarion Goddess of Art, Beauty, Love and Music. The conception was during a brief tryst at a deity mixer at Cayden Cailean's Domain in Elysium. After countless years of seduction and innumerable bottles of Ambrosia, Cayden Cailean charmed his way into Shelyn's bedchamber.

This was a shock to Desna, Golarion Goddess of Dreams, Luck, Stars, and Travelers, and Sarenrae, Golarion Goddess of the Sun, Healing, and Honest Redemption, of whom Shelyn was part of a poly-amorous relationship. Once it became clear that Shelyn felt the rushes of Life within here, Desna with Sarenrae nearly came to blows with Cayden Cailean. Shelyn stopped the fight from occurring, stating she was going to keep the child. As a means of peace between the four deities, Cayden Cailean suggested all four of them together raise the child. Sarenrae, Desna, and Shelyn all agreed.

When the time came near for Josten's birth, the four gods traveled to Pharasma's Palace in the Boneyards. It was there, Pharasma, Golarion Goddess of Birth, Death, Fate, Time and Prophecy, would act as Shelyn's midwife. The birth went very well, as Pharasma brought the god-child into Being. Pharasma looked at the baby, gave a slightly aggravated look at Josten, then gave the godling baby to Shelyn. Sarenrae asked Pharasma about her troubling look. The Goddess of Life and Death merely shrugged, saying the child would be bothersome to her and her irk, then asked the gathered deities and their offspring to leave her palace.

The next day, while Cayden Cailean was sleeping off his post-birth celebrations, Sarenrae transported Shelyn, Josten (the name Cayden chose for his son), and Desna to Creation's Forge. It was there that Sarenrae took them all to see the Manasaputra, the race of celestial who live with Creation's Forge. Sarenrae had been in communication with The Cleansing Wings, one of the powerful Seven Kumaras, who rule the Manasaputra. With The Cleansing Wing's permission, The infant Josten was baptized several times at various Positive Energy fountains throughout Creation's Forge. Several days later, Josten was presented back to his father, glowing with the energies of Positive Energy. The baptisms had made the godling infant a Sublime being. Sarenrae stated this was her gift to Josten.

The next week, Cayden Cailean and Shelyn brought Josten to visit Desna in The Sevenfold Cynosure. Desna, who began to see the infant Josten as her nephew, through several tails of comets within her realm. Desna gave Josten back to his parents, looking dismayed. Desna frowned, saying she was not able to give Josten an over-all Luck in all aspects of his upcoming life, but said Josten would become Lucky in battle along with other aspects. Desna had given Josten her Fortune-Blessed gift.

Several weeks later, Cayden threw a baby welcoming party at Blossomheart in Nirvana. Many interested gods and goddesses from across The Upper Planes came to see the deific offspring. Olheon, the Empyreal Lord of Nobility and Rulership, was particularly interested in meeting the child of two different deities. The Just Arbiter gently tapped the head of her halberd on Josten's brow and transformed the godling into a Holy being.

It was decided that Josten, once he was weened, would life half-his life on Elysium and half on Nirvana. When Josten was brought to Elysium, Cayden Cailean would always gush over his son inbetween ales. Josten grew up playing with Thunder and all his puppies, and playing with Thais in the Fields of Battle, helping Josten to grow up fast and strong. When Josten was brought to Nirvana, the godling was free to learn any art he fancied. Josten loved to finger paint and play with clay sculptures. Later, Josten began to become proficient in song, string instruments, dancing, and playing keyboard instruments, under the tutolage of The Spirit of Adoration. It was his time listening to dirty bar jokes in Cayden's Realm where Josten honed his comedic ability, much to the shocked faces of several contemplative agathions and wise angels.

The Story of Josten Cailean, Part Two: Golarion:
About twenty cycles after Josten Cailean was born, Cayden Cailean decided his son needed some 'Material World' experience. With great trepidation, Shelyn reluctantly agreed. And so, on a sunny afternoon in Absalom, an unbelievable handsome young man manifested on the first step of The Starstone Cathedral. Crowds quickly gathered. Josten tried to explain himself, but could make his voice heard over the shouted questions. So the young bard took out his Perfect Golden Lute and began to play. The shouts were soon stopped, occasionally replaced with sobs of joy over the music the assembled masses were hearing. At the end of the performance, Josten explained who he was and who sent him there. Shelynites and Caydenites roared with happiness, as they only heard of the rumor of Shelyn's and Cayden's love child. Suddenly, The Graycloaks, under orders from Lord Gyr of House Gixx to take Josten to the Grand Council of Absalom, of which Josten went peacefully, leaving the fawning masses aching to see the godling again.

Josten spoke again about his mission his parents gave him to The Council. The twelve seats all agreed Josten can't stay in Absalom. But Lord Gyr did allow Josten to stay in Absalom for a week, visiting the temples of his parents. So wherever Josten went in Absalom, crowds would follow. The godling worked in Cayden's Hall and The Temple of the Shining Star, since Shelyn had no major temple in the city. Rumors ran rampant as several people glanced Josten leaving The Pleasure Salon of Calistria in the early hours. The rumor was not helped by the fact several Calistrian courtesans had to leave active service due to imminent pregnancies months later.

A week went by, and Josten put on a one-man concert to the citizens of Absalom before he departed by ship to Varisia. It was on those shores that Josten sought refuge in the coastal town of Sandpoint, as they were celebrating the opening of The Sandpoint Cathedral. Due to his heroic actions during the now-famous goblin raid, the godling became embroiled in the mission, along with his band of fellow adventurers, to save Avistan from The Rise of the Runelords.

After Runelord Karzoug's defeat, Josten Cailean, now a renowned adventurer of legend in Avistan got a personal invitation to play before Queen Abrogail Thrune II at The Grand Opera House. All of his companions and friends told him not to go! But, seeing the challenge, sent the invitation back to The Queen, agreeing to the concert. The godling told The Queen he'll get passage to Westcrown.

Two weeks went by when the ship baring Josten Cailean docked in Westcrown. The order of Hellknights awaited Josten to disembark, only to find the mildly embarrassed godling didn't travel alone, as a platoon of paladins of Shelyn escorted Josten over the waves, and were determined to escort the son of their goddess during his entire stay in Cheliax. This almost caused the indignant Hellknights to call a holy war. But thanks to some quick remote communication with Egorian, the paladin were allowed to escort Josten to his command performance.

Tickets sold out instantly. Spaces two miles around the opera house were sold. Josten found out after his concert, a celebration would be hosted by Queen Abrogail in The Imperial Palace. Again, the paladins disagreed with this, but Josten knew everyone didn't want to start an international incident, much less a holy war.
The night of the concert came. Every member of Cheliax nobility who was any worth to Queen Abrogail was in attendance. Josten dressed in his finest, as he went through a library of songs, instrumentals, tales of his travels, safe-for-nobility humor, dancing, and even acrobatics! In the end, Josten's standing ovation lasted over one half hour.

After many bards in attendance said was the greatest concert in modern Avistan, Josten, and his platoon of paladins attended the royal celebration. Many upturned Cheliax nobles tried to get under Josten's godling skin, but no one was able to touch Cailean Charisma, much less bruise it. Josten was even able to correctly find and talk with the invisible General Gorthoklek, then Contessa Lrilatha. Observers said both devils looked surprised and uncomfortable in Josten's presence.

The celebration was also a massive success, but scholars and court observers weren't sure who made out better. For a while, Queen Abrogail was the envy of many world leaders, who tried and failed to get Josten to perform for them. Several months after Josten Cailean left Cheliax, the country was set upon by wildfires of resistance and descent. Several Cheliax nobles secretly left their home country to live abroad. But perhaps the greatest scandal was at one time during the party, Queen Abrogail and Josten went missing. After the celebration, some court observers could swear Queen Abrogail was developing a tummy bulge. After several months of not appearing in court, Queen Abrogail returned to public view, sans bulge. Those who dare not speak it aloud in Cheliax ponders whether The Head of House Thrune terminated an almost-divine pregnancy!

Shelyn, clearly done with Josten's antics on Golarion, plane shifted his son back to the safety of Nirvana.

Personality:
Josten Cailean may very well be one of the most affable beings in the known Universe. Despite his intimidating arsenal of magical artifacts, Josten's greatest weapon his charm and diplomacy; able to deflect the most horrid of insult with ease, and receiving respect from even his most hated of enemies. Josten has grown up knowing how he appears to others, and using that to it's greatest advantage. Cayden left many mortal descendants on Golarion before attaining godhood, and Josten left a similar mark in nearly half the time. Being a Sublime being means Josten possesses a virility few can withstand. Much like his Exalted 'Aunties', Josten is a pansexual being.

Despite this, Josten works hard to remain on the side of Good and remain humble; not to give into his various vices, of which Josten as many. Being the son of The Drunken God, meant Josten never wanted for drink, or food, or women, or men. Blessed with luck, the godling is also an avid gambler, risking all for the thrill of the big win. But Josten's the first one to take his winnings and give them to a hungry orphan, or help build a hospital. Josten Cailean freely heals anyone and everyone he can. With his bardic mastery, Josten can help heal a wounded soul with a song, or a joke, or a kiss.

Relations with other deities:
Josten has a loving relationship with both his mother and father, Shelyn and Cayden Cailean respectfully. Both the Shelynite and Caydenite Faiths claim Josten as theirs; the Shelynites making Josten a official Saint briefly before his ascension to demigod. His other 'Aunties', Desna and Sarenrae, adore Josten and wish him well on his adventures. Even Torag, stoic God of the Forge has been known to chuckle once or sometimes twice and Josten's attempts at Dwarven Humor. Now, Calistria is a touchy subject. Both Father and Son have laid with The Savored Sting, much to Shelyn's disappointment. But the Goddess of Lust keeps all her lovers at arms reach.

Abadar enjoys the influx of currency a Josten Cailean concert brings to an area. Erastil respects Josten dedication to healing other, especially those far from hospitals in towns. Irori and Nethys appreciate the godling music and dedication of arcane magic. Pharasma and her followers are put off by Josten's dominating positivity.

Asmodeus, ancient enemy of Good, and Josten's parents respectively, wishes to put Shelyn's 'pretty bird' in a cage where only The Dark Prince will enjoy Josten's music.Lamashtu, Rovagug, and Urgathoa all seek to snuff out the Light that is Josten Cailean.

Josten has been a surprising detractor to Iomedae. Ever since Josten found some Iomedaean propaganda pamplets against other faiths in Kaer Maga, Josten has privately denounced the rigid commandments and law The Inheritor make she followers live by. This has caused friction between Iomedaeans and other faiths.

Last, not not least, Shelyn has raised Josten with a clear fear of his former uncle, Zon-Kuthon. The Eternal Rose lives in fear of what would happen if Zon-Kuthon got his chains around her godling son, and has taught Josten to run if he ever meets The Midnight Lord.

Xandarian gets hit with a spell but it has no effect. (I'm not exactly sure how Spell Resistance works here, but Xandarian has SR 19. Also Charm Person shouldn't work on Xandarian because his type changed to outsider [native] when he became a half-celestial.)

The caydenite then puts the open bottle to his lips and drinks several large gulps.
"Well..", Trevor belches, looking up at his family. "That was terrible."
Holding the first bottle, Trevor opens the second wine bottle and hands it to whomever is closest.
"I guess Malphene has me for a little while longer, the blood-soaked noble smiles wearily as he takes another sip of the first bottle.

Trevor looks down at his ruined finery. "Anybody else torn up? Oh well." The cleric takes another long drink for the fine wine bottle, then sets it down.

In the middle of the night, Trevor wakes up. Perhaps it is due to his alligence to Cayden Cailean, or his own chaotic nature; but Trevor Kastner never felt comfortable in one of Abadar's temples. And tonight was no exception. The caydenite sighed, trying then failing to get his body at ease to get back to sleep.

Quietly, Trevor stood up and looked around the chapel. Everyone from Betony Estates was sleeping; no doubt exhausted after yesterday's events. A student of faith himself, Trevor took in the place of worship for the Gold-fisted. Letting out a small yawn, Trevor quietly walked up near the front of the room where some of the pews were not being used as makeshift beds. Trevor quietly sat down in the pew and looked up at the altar, The Gold Key, Abadar's holy symbol, prominently shown.

Sighing quietly again to himself, Trevor closed his eyes in prayer.

Prayer:
Well. If nothing else. Thanks for letting us sleep in your sanctuary, Abadar.

Trevor sat in the stillness for another minute, collecting his thoughts, then continued.

I never..well.. we never saw 'eye-to-eye', as they say. Even as a noble to one of the most prestigious families of Taldor, the rigid social and legal rules of modern nobility irked me. Vexed me even.

As a caydenite, I personally don't believe in Marriage as an Institution, but I am a Kastner. And I know what is expected of me. Demanded of me. To carry on the Kastner name. And Malphene is an extraordinary woman. And a few years after our marriage, we'll discretely open the marriage to affairs. Making sure to deny bastards, and the like, of course.

I place my faith in Cayden Caliean. I am his Man. But..since we are both here..I would like to request you protect my soon-to-be lawful marriage to Malphene Trant. Make sure the documentation and legality is protected. As well as it's institution, Trevor frowned.

Looking behind him at Icabhod sleeping, Trevor turned back to the altar. The way I see it, Cayden will do his best to protect me tomorrow. But I ask that you protect my 'found family', especially those whom revere you. Keep them safe. After a few moments of finding nothing else to say, Trevor opened his eyes again, sat up from the pew and made his way back to his bedroll, which was a much more comfortable cooler in his absence. Trevor laid back down, close his eyes and slept.

Vondal Goldbeard is of average height for most dwarves, but that's where the similarities end. The godling has long, luxurious golden blonde hair that seem to glimmer even in the darkest of delves, with sapphire blue eyes that twinkle when working on his latest piece of jewelry. Under his mithril chainmail, Vondal has a well-muscled physique, free of blemish. As a clear indication of his other-worldly heritage, Vondal's tongue casts a metallic silvery sheen, which shines in the torchlight, distracting those he speaks with.

The godling currently sports mithril chainmail armor with a matching heavy mithril shield. Though Vondal seeks a nice pair of dragonmail as a replacement, either red or green. Vondal keeps his crossbow oiled and maintained. The magical battleaxe 'Gloryhewner' rests on his weapon belt, next to a leather sack on his shoulder.

Vondal Goldbeard IS NOT TYPICAL of dwarves in Faerun. The godling is very outgoing, friendly, and personable in his dealing with all beings; not just dwarves. Most traditional dwarves are taken back and repulsed by such behavior, but Vondal's overwhelming charisma often will win them over eventually.

The godling is very much his Father's son; eager to make a lucrative deal or exclusive item worth a high price. Negotiations and bargaining fills the dwarf with glee. Almost as much as Vondal loves to create unique pieces of jewelry. Creating beautiful rings is one of Vandal's many passions. Meeting and talking with beautiful women of any race is another. To his credit, Vondal does not openly discuss his various dalliances, but it is rumored to be very numerous.

Vondal also enjoys music. Both listening and playing it; the godling has an affinity toward stringed instruments. On long treks across land, Vindal will often pull out a lute or mandolin and play for his own amusement and for others. Sometimes the godling regrets not becoming a bard, but of his regrets, Vondal has few.

Vondal is a pious worshiper of the entire Morndinsamman, not just one deity. But the godling talks with his distant relatives very causally in prayer, which upsets the more conservative. Vondal just shrugs, feeling slightly sorry for those beings who do not have as close a relation with the dwarven gods as he does.

A few seasons ago, Vondal began a personal quest. The dwarf godling seeks any information on individuals whom call themselves sublime. It is a rare state of being Vondal hopes to achieve, either by cleric or magical means, following rumors of radiant beings, magical items and artifacts directly linked to The Positive Energy Plane, and the like. The godling sees becoming sublime as a major goal in one day becoming a full god, like his father.

Astrillith, I hate to be THAT guy, but where are your ability scores posted?

BY MORADIN'S HAMMER! So does Vondal, but rings are his focus. Wonder if we can get some Crafting Teamwork feats?!!

RIZZENMAGNUS, at the advice my Rules Lawyer, Grumbaki; I have made these two changes to Vondal "Silvertongue" Goldbeard

1. I have changed the Persuasive Feat with the Emergent Divinity Divine Portfolio I: Lore - Sidestep Secret (Su) Feat.

Sidestep Secret (Su) Your innate understanding of the universe has granted you preternatural reflexes and the uncanny ability to step out of danger at the very last second. Add your Charisma modifier (instead of your Dexterity modifier) to your Armor Class and all Reflex saving throws. Your armor’s maximum Dexterity bonus applies to your Charisma instead of your Dexterity.

2. I have also changed the Dwarf Trait Goldsniffer for the Combat Trait Dwarven Weapon Trained.

"Yes, my dear. It really is a silver tongue. You should see all the places it goes!" - Vondal "Silvertongue" Goldbeard, speaking with a blushing tavern maid over a tankard of dwarven ale.

RIZZENMAGNUS and my fellow character submitters, I'd like to present Vondal "Silvertongue' Goldbeard Vergadainkral, mighty godling and son of Vergadain, dwarven god of commerce and wealth!

Okay. I'll ask. Any of the Godling classes?
Given that its FR, I dont see this out of the vein

A dwarf godling, fathered or mothered by one of the Morndinsamman; I don't think would be out of the the ordinary in a world with archmages, dragons, and tarrasque.

A strange sight befell the citizens of Dagger Falls at the North Gate. A large warrior in some exotic red scaled armor rode through the North Gate. A golden heavy mace attached to his weapon belt. This impressive warrior rode on a what looked a flawless warhorse, with a pelt that seemed to shine in the sunlight.

One of the more prepared gate guards asked the red scalled warrior to stop and pronounce his intentions. The red scaled warrior pulled his steed off the road to allow traffic. Then the warrior took off his helm, to unveil and handsome man of regal bearing with long red hair to match his armor.
"I am Lord Joreld Huntsilver of Cormyr, paladin of The Morninglord, Lathander. I am here at the request of Lord Randal Morn." The paladin unfolded a small piece of parchment from his belt and referred to it. "Can you direct me to Freedom Riders’ barracks?"

The other guards just stood with their mouths agape. The brave guard before straightened up and gave Lord Huntsilver excellent directions. Joreld thanks the guard, then directed his amazing steed toward the direction needed.

Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
The Lathanderite looked up at booming structure. "So that must be Constable's Tower", Joreld said to himself. "Strange."

Lord Joreld dismounts his amazing steed, and whispers to the horse, his head next to his. "Sunrise. Rest. I shall call you if you are needed. You deserve some rest." At that, the magnificent horse disappears in a flash of light.

After being allowed entry to the barracks, the paladin meets the exotic woman with the caramel-coloured hair.
Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
Joreld, ever the cultured gentleman, bows to advisor and states, "Thank you, Madam Stillwater. May the Blessing of The Goddess of Singing Waters continue to wash over you." Diplomacy (Charming): 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33
Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

Instead of sitting, Joreld walks around the room, admiring the artwork, eating a tarlet.

GM Slowdrifter wrote:
”Thank you for answering our call for aid,” Cariamma says, closing the door behind the last figure to enter. The woman’s eyes rove around the room, carefully sizing up the motley array of characters now gathered in the council chamber. ”Tunfer will be with us anon. In the meantime, perhaps you would care to share something of yourselves.”

The large red scaled warrior nods. "Greetings, all. My name is Lord Joreld Huntsilver of Cormyr. I'm a paladin of Lathander." A gold symbol of The Morninglord rests on his chest over his armor. "I was a former member of The Purple Dragons. In truth, it was more of an administrative role."

Greetings, Slowdrifter, and my fellow adventurers.

Joreld Huntsilver was told of the problem in Daggerdale through the Lathanderian church. Feeling bored of the Cormyr urban life and social politics, the human paladin makes his way to distant Daggerdale, in hopes of curing his boredom and elevating his legend.

Darius considered his words carefully as he walked with the town guards. "Zounds, Mia. 'Still Waters Run Deep'.

But you are a cleric so that surely comes with the vocation."

"Rosemaiden, we mortals are not perfect. Everyone has flaws. Untidy things in the center of our beings we wish to change.
'It is The Exalted That Have The Farthest to Fall'. Do you know what every antipaladin, Dread Vanguard to Tyrant has said?"

"Me? No! I will never fall." I am keenly aware that if I lost my convictions, I too, would fall."

"I think every person of faith struggles with 'feeling worthy'. And the ones who don't often have inflated perceptions of themselves, and are delusional."

"But you, Rosemaiden Mia. You are keenly aware of your faults. But you have a great need to prove yourself. To yourself. And The Eternal Maiden."

Darius stops walking to emphasis his point. "Mia. I can't wait to see the heights of which you will soar. I hope one day to join you. Just have faith."

The aasimar, ever the showman, activated his angelic gift, as a bright halo radiated from his head; catching the eyes of the people walking near him.

Turning to Clive, Darius adds, "Bet your weren't expecting a theological discussion today, were you? Eh, Mr. Clive?"

The Deverin son puts his lute bag on his back and walks with the two town guards. Darius diplomatically didn't hear the 'assumptions' part of the conversation.

"I suppose I felt Shelyn's influence in my life when I first began to learn the lute", the paladin explains. "There was an innate calmness when I began to play. The more I learned about The Eternal Rose, the more her teaching made sense. Being able to see The Beauty in others, and The World; and finding a way to bring more Beauty into The World seem like worthwhile goals to me."

"Do you honestly feel pressured into Shelyn's service, Mia?"
