Since there's been a lot of talk concerning viability, I want to repeat one of the things I mentioned under expectations in the OP: this is a game for more experienced players who want greater leeway in optimization and a more challenging experience overall. Building characters at this level requires a lot of out-of-the-box thinking and number tweaking. Meeting some of the higher benchmark numbers relevant to your character is near-expected and going beyond those is highly encouraged. I do want people to keep one thing in mind though: it is impossible to be 'viable' at everything and so you need to look at what's both relevant and feasible for your character and work on tweaking those first.

@Ouachitonian: So basically a law-chad version of SMT's Surt, but with wings and a whip to go along with the sword? Sounds cool to me!

All of those options look fine to me.

@pad300: Power Attack is essentially "free" with EitR, but Mythic Power Attack has to be taken in the usual way if you want it. You count as having Power Attack for the puspose of prereqs.

@Monkeygod: You can still get those inherent bonuses from Wish, they're just not free or available through easily-exploitable 1/2 or less crafting cost tomes.

@Godwyn Blaecwulf: All of those templates are fine.

@Qeetan'Chachol Shaaldanarth: You summed up my thoughts on balance perfectly. There's a huge power discrepancy among even core 20th-level characters, so trying to keep things internally balanced at this level is an exercise in futility even if we were using bog-standard PFS rules at this level.

@Here4daFreeSwag: Moral support is always appreciated! I'm one of those GMs who has pretty much seen it all and third-party helps keep things fresh and interesting for me, so I use it whenever possible. And hey, if me doing so helps other people get to explore ideas that more by-the-books GMs won't let them even look at or helps people branch out and try new things, all the better!

I just need to point out that before I factor *literally* anything else other than the base skill points from Scholar and the +3 extra skills from the GM, I have 11 skills per level. This doesn't include FCB, Int mod, feats, traits, class features, or nothing else but the very basics.

Oh, and thanks to L. Investigator, all skills are class skills.

An unbelievably handsome young man with long red hair and sapphire eyes makes his way onstage.
"Greetings, all. I'd like to dedicate this next tune to our humble host, Pasha of the Nightsands. Enjoy!"
A Perfect Golden Lute suddenly appears before the young man as he begins to strum the chords.
Perform (string): 1d20 + 55 ⇒ (6) + 55 = 61
Perform (sing): 1d20 + 48 ⇒ (15) + 48 = 63

As the applause dies down after the song, the handsome man addresses those gathered.
"Glad you liked it. Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Josten Cailean. Demigod of Confidence, Positive Energy, and Bards. I am here representing TheWaskally's interest in joining, our host, Pasha's Epic-Level Coliseum Morpheuon Campaign! I'm a Gestalt Godling (mighty)/Bard. Oh. One thing Mr. Waskally wanted me to say was he was sorry he could not include the following spoilers on my character sheet. But, apparently, in making my profile page, TheWaskally found Paizo does indeed have a limit to how much information you can have on one page." Josten shrugs. "Who knew?!!"
"Anyway, I'll stay her and play some more tunes while you check out the spoilers below."

@Pasha:
This is my finalized version of Josten Cailean. Two things to bring to your attention.
1) The ring of improved inspired performance is a third-party item I hope you will allow Josten to keep. If not, I will edit Josten's character page accordingly.
2) I realize the both the ring of improved inspired performance and The Perfect Golden Lute have competence bonuses to Perform (string), but the ring has it for all the other Perform skills and I'd like to keep them of both items are allowed.

The Story of Josten Cailean, Part One: The Planes:
The being born to one day be Josten Cailean, is the offspring from Cayden Cailean, Golarion God of Ale, Bravery, Freedom, and Wine; and Shelyn, Golarion Goddess of Art, Beauty, Love and Music. The conception was during a brief tryst at a deity mixer at Cayden Cailean's Domain in Elysium. After countless years of seduction and innumerable bottles of Ambrosia, Cayden Cailean charmed his way into Shelyn's bedchamber.

This was a shock to Desna, Golarion Goddess of Dreams, Luck, Stars, and Travelers, and Sarenrae, Golarion Goddess of the Sun, Healing, and Honest Redemption, of whom Shelyn was part of a poly-amorous relationship. Once it became clear that Shelyn felt the rushes of Life within here, Desna with Sarenrae nearly came to blows with Cayden Cailean. Shelyn stopped the fight from occurring, stating she was going to keep the child. As a means of peace between the four deities, Cayden Cailean suggested all four of them together raise the child. Sarenrae, Desna, and Shelyn all agreed.

When the time came near for Josten's birth, the four gods traveled to Pharasma's Palace in the Boneyards. It was there, Pharasma, Golarion Goddess of Birth, Death, Fate, Time and Prophecy, would act as Shelyn's midwife. The birth went very well, as Pharasma brought the god-child into Being. Pharasma looked at the baby, gave a slightly aggravated look at Josten, then gave the godling baby to Shelyn. Sarenrae asked Pharasma about her troubling look. The Goddess of Life and Death merely shrugged, saying the child would be bothersome to her and her irk, then asked the gathered deities and their offspring to leave her palace.

The next day, while Cayden Cailean was sleeping off his post-birth celebrations, Sarenrae transported Shelyn, Josten (the name Cayden chose for his son), and Desna to Creation's Forge. It was there that Sarenrae took them all to see the Manasaputra, the race of celestial who live with Creation's Forge. Sarenrae had been in communication with The Cleansing Wings, one of the powerful Seven Kumaras, who rule the Manasaputra. With The Cleansing Wing's permission, The infant Josten was baptized several times at various Positive Energy fountains throughout Creation's Forge. Several days later, Josten was presented back to his father, glowing with the energies of Positive Energy. The baptisms had made the godling infant a Sublime being. Sarenrae stated this was her gift to Josten.

The next week, Cayden Cailean and Shelyn brought Josten to visit Desna in The Sevenfold Cynosure. Desna, who began to see the infant Josten as her nephew, through several tails of comets within her realm. Desna gave Josten back to his parents, looking dismayed. Desna frowned, saying she was not able to give Josten an over-all Luck in all aspects of his upcoming life, but said Josten would become Lucky in battle along with other aspects. Desna had given Josten her Fortune-Blessed gift.

Several weeks later, Cayden threw a baby welcoming party at Blossomheart in Nirvana. Many interested gods and goddesses from across The Upper Planes came to see the deific offspring. Olheon, the Empyreal Lord of Nobility and Rulership, was particularly interested in meeting the child of two different deities. The Just Arbiter gently tapped the head of her halberd on Josten's brow and transformed the godling into a Holy being.

It was decided that Josten, once he was weened, would life half-his life on Elysium and half on Nirvana. When Josten was brought to Elysium, Cayden Cailean would always gush over his son inbetween ales. Josten grew up playing with Thunder and all his puppies, and playing with Thais in the Fields of Battle, helping Josten to grow up fast and strong. When Josten was brought to Nirvana, the godling was free to learn any art he fancied. Josten loved to finger paint and play with clay sculptures. Later, Josten began to become proficient in song, string instruments, dancing, and playing keyboard instruments, under the tutolage of The Spirit of Adoration. It was his time listening to dirty bar jokes in Cayden's Realm where Josten honed his comedic ability, much to the shocked faces of several contemplative agathions and wise angels.

The Story of Josten Cailean, Part Two: Golarion:
About twenty cycles after Josten Cailean was born, Cayden Cailean decided his son needed some 'Material World' experience. With great trepidation, Shelyn reluctantly agreed. And so, on a sunny afternoon in Absalom, an unbelievable handsome young man manifested on the first step of The Starstone Cathedral. Crowds quickly gathered. Josten tried to explain himself, but could make his voice heard over the shouted questions. So the young bard took out his Perfect Golden Lute and began to play. The shouts were soon stopped, occasionally replaced with sobs of joy over the music the assembled masses were hearing. At the end of the performance, Josten explained who he was and who sent him there. Shelynites and Caydenites roared with happiness, as they only heard of the rumor of Shelyn's and Cayden's love child. Suddenly, The Graycloaks, under orders from Lord Gyr of House Gixx to take Josten to the Grand Council of Absalom, of which Josten went peacefully, leaving the fawning masses aching to see the godling again.

Josten spoke again about his mission his parents gave him to The Council. The twelve seats all agreed Josten can't stay in Absalom. But Lord Gyr did allow Josten to stay in Absalom for a week, visiting the temples of his parents. So wherever Josten went in Absalom, crowds would follow. The godling worked in Cayden's Hall and The Temple of the Shining Star, since Shelyn had no major temple in the city. Rumors ran rampant as several people glanced Josten leaving The Pleasure Salon of Calistria in the early hours. The rumor was not helped by the fact several Calistrian courtesans had to leave active service due to imminent pregnancies months later.

A week went by, and Josten put on a one-man concert to the citizens of Absalom before he departed by ship to Varisia. It was on those shores that Josten sought refuge in the coastal town of Sandpoint, as they were celebrating the opening of The Sandpoint Cathedral. Due to his heroic actions during the now-famous goblin raid, the godling became embroiled in the mission, along with his band of fellow adventurers, to save Avistan from The Rise of the Runelords.

After Runelord Karzoug's defeat, Josten Cailean, now a renowned adventurer of legend in Avistan got a personal invitation to play before Queen Abrogail Thrune II at The Grand Opera House. All of his companions and friends told him not to go! But, seeing the challenge, sent the invitation back to The Queen, agreeing to the concert. The godling told The Queen he'll get passage to Westcrown.

Two weeks went by when the ship baring Josten Cailean docked in Westcrown. The order of Hellknights awaited Josten to disembark, only to find the mildly embarrassed godling didn't travel alone, as a platoon of paladins of Shelyn escorted Josten over the waves, and were determined to escort the son of their goddess during his entire stay in Cheliax. This almost caused the indignant Hellknights to call a holy war. But thanks to some quick remote communication with Egorian, the paladin were allowed to escort Josten to his command performance.

Tickets sold out instantly. Spaces two miles around the opera house were sold. Josten found out after his concert, a celebration would be hosted by Queen Abrogail in The Imperial Palace. Again, the paladins disagreed with this, but Josten knew everyone didn't want to start an international incident, much less a holy war.
The night of the concert came. Every member of Cheliax nobility who was any worth to Queen Abrogail was in attendance. Josten dressed in his finest, as he went through a library of songs, instrumentals, tales of his travels, safe-for-nobility humor, dancing, and even acrobatics! In the end, Josten's standing ovation lasted over one half hour.

After many bards in attendance said was the greatest concert in modern Avistan, Josten, and his platoon of paladins attended the royal celebration. Many upturned Cheliax nobles tried to get under Josten's godling skin, but no one was able to touch Cailean Charisma, much less bruise it. Josten was even able to correctly find and talk with the invisible General Gorthoklek, then Contessa Lrilatha. Observers said both devils looked surprised and uncomfortable in Josten's presence.

The celebration was also a massive success, but scholars and court observers weren't sure who made out better. For a while, Queen Abrogail was the envy of many world leaders, who tried and failed to get Josten to perform for them. Several months after Josten Cailean left Cheliax, the country was set upon by wildfires of resistance and descent. Several Cheliax nobles secretly left their home country to live abroad. But perhaps the greatest scandal was at one time during the party, Queen Abrogail and Josten went missing. After the celebration, some court observers could swear Queen Abrogail was developing a tummy bulge. After several months of not appearing in court, Queen Abrogail returned to public view, sans bulge. Those who dare not speak it aloud in Cheliax ponders whether The Head of House Thrune terminated an almost-divine pregnancy!

Shelyn, clearly done with Josten's antics on Golarion, plane shifted his son back to the safety of Nirvana.

Personality:
Josten Cailean may very well be one of the most affable beings in the known Universe. Despite his intimidating arsenal of magical artifacts, Josten's greatest weapon his charm and diplomacy; able to deflect the most horrid of insult with ease, and receiving respect from even his most hated of enemies. Josten has grown up knowing how he appears to others, and using that to it's greatest advantage. Cayden left many mortal descendants on Golarion before attaining godhood, and Josten left a similar mark in nearly half the time. Being a Sublime being means Josten possesses a virility few can withstand. Much like his Exalted 'Aunties', Josten is a pansexual being.

Despite this, Josten works hard to remain on the side of Good and remain humble; not to give into his various vices, of which Josten as many. Being the son of The Drunken God, meant Josten never wanted for drink, or food, or women, or men. Blessed with luck, the godling is also an avid gambler, risking all for the thrill of the big win. But Josten's the first one to take his winnings and give them to a hungry orphan, or help build a hospital. Josten Cailean freely heals anyone and everyone he can. With his bardic mastery, Josten can help heal a wounded soul with a song, or a joke, or a kiss.

Relations with other deities:
Josten has a loving relationship with both his mother and father, Shelyn and Cayden Cailean respectfully. Both the Shelynite and Caydenite Faiths claim Josten as theirs; the Shelynites making Josten a official Saint briefly before his ascension to demigod. His other 'Aunties', Desna and Sarenrae, adore Josten and wish him well on his adventures. Even Torag, stoic God of the Forge has been known to chuckle once or sometimes twice and Josten's attempts at Dwarven Humor. Now, Calistria is a touchy subject. Both Father and Son have laid with The Savored Sting, much to Shelyn's disappointment. But the Goddess of Lust keeps all her lovers at arms reach.

Abadar enjoys the influx of currency a Josten Cailean concert brings to an area. Erastil respects Josten dedication to healing other, especially those far from hospitals in towns. Irori and Nethys appreciate the godling music and dedication of arcane magic. Pharasma and her followers are put off by Josten's dominating positivity.

Asmodeus, ancient enemy of Good, and Josten's parents respectively, wishes to put Shelyn's 'pretty bird' in a cage where only The Dark Prince will enjoy Josten's music.Lamashtu, Rovagug, and Urgathoa all seek to snuff out the Light that is Josten Cailean.

Josten has been a surprising detractor to Iomedae. Ever since Josten found some Iomedaean propaganda pamplets against other faiths in Kaer Maga, Josten has privately denounced the rigid commandments and law The Inheritor make she followers live by. This has caused friction between Iomedaeans and other faiths.

Last, not not least, Shelyn has raised Josten with a clear fear of his former uncle, Zon-Kuthon. The Eternal Rose lives in fear of what would happen if Zon-Kuthon got his chains around her godling son, and has taught Josten to run if he ever meets The Midnight Lord.

Obviously, the GM can say otherwise, but there shouldn't be a problem with you having both. The ring provides the bonus to all performances while the Lute is only to string instruments. They wouldn't stack.

And yet more questions for @Pasha

1) Some third party feats I am planning to use:
Realmwalker Adept
Realmwalker Master
Lurker in Darkness

2)A couple of templates that haven't been used yet

Green Warden, CR +1

Alebrije, CR +2

Are you also banning the Leadership sphere? If so, are you banning the whole thing, or just the cohort package(and talents that apply to it)?

The being made of light, slaps his hands soundlessly looking at Josten Cailean, on the stage. Tuning to a fellow inext to him.

"I have to say Josten was really rather good."
Then he face fell.
"or was he?"
Looking a little upset now.

Two performances played out before him, one amazing the other not so.
Seeing time in this way is always so distracting for Cronossuss. Which one had been real?

That time seer template is great, really feels like Fallen, working on what I can do with it as a core. I love the idea he see the possibilities of time, but has a hard time working out where he is in the flow if it.

Fallen: "The red 47 sounds nice. I would love some"

Barman: "But I did not say anything."

Fallen: "Really, O dear, sorry I responded in the wrong reality"

He just does things that seem odd, then realising they were not meant for this 'here and now'. [Not crazy evil stuff], just odd things like being putting out a another dish thinking there is another person.

Im going all in, replacing Psion with
Lord of Time - Time Warden, if your going to try something new, this is the game for it.

I am really enjoying picking through these submissions and seeing what people make when given free reign

Yeah... I'm going to bow out. I made the mistake of check a few other builds for better benchmarking and neither of the builds I was interested in playing will be able to really compete there.

Love the back story, he looks really interesting. A couple of things did ump out at me.

I dont think you have enough divine rank abilities. You get 15 ranks (more with FCB) but I think you have only spent 11 (10 points on beauty 1-4 and 1 point on Divine Power). You might be saving up for another purchase but I am not sure if we are actually levelling in this game.

Looking at the Robe, its save bonus is resistance so wont stack with the bonus from ABP.

Your 1st Mythic rank will also give a few HP, not much of an issue when you have over 700!

Thank you, andreww.

Josten does have enough divine rank abilities I believe. He got the 5 he's allowed from leveling and the feat options with Emergent Divinity and Extra Talent.

I will need to fix the robe. Thanks for catching that.

And I forgot Josten get additional HP for being mythic. I will fix this as well.

The building creaks and groans as if a mighty weight were pushing down on it. Suddenly, a gate of roiling black energy forms to one side of the stage. Where it touches the floor the boards begin to buckle and age, rotting away. A figure emerges from within, tall and gaunt, swathed in tattered black robes with a white porcelain mask covering its face. Its hands are covered with rune marked white gloves leaving no part of it directly visible. The body somehow seems to writhe beneath its outer coverings.

A voice, sepulchral and harsh, ushers from within, Don't mind me, please, play on, I have heard that your music is...sublime.

The figure floats towards the bar, some beetles and other scuttling things dripping from beneath its robe as it passes. Several patrons flee at his approach, some faint dead away. He flicks a bag on coin onto the bar. Drinks for everyone, my treat, he says, turning to see who is left watching the performance.

Candraphon is now mostly done, I bought some wishes are per the comment from our GM above and changed up some gear. He has 28k left to spend which I will hold on to in case of emergency Miracle requirements.

Josten Cailean wrote:

I think you have misread how divine rank abilities for Godling work, or I have.

You get 1 point at level 2, 2 at 6, 3 at 10, 4 at 14 and 5 at 18 for 15 total.

Abilities cost 1 rank for rank 1 plus 1 rank for every additional rank. If you take the same ability again it costs an additional rank each time.

So Beauty at rank 4 costs 1+2+3+4 for 10. Divine Power 1 costs 1. That means you should have at least 4 more left plus any from feats.

Yet another @Pasha

You pre-approved akashic races, but just in case,

Fable Beast

I am thinking Crow or Wolf heritage.

(it's akashic, or at least has the akashic tag, but I think it's not in the regular set...)

andreww wrote:

Alright. I'll admit. Reading the rules concerning Divine Traits may lead to your conclusion. I will await Pasha's verdict on this matter.

“ A godling gains divine trait ranks at 2nd, 6th, 10th, 14th, and 18th levels. The number of ranks gained increases each time, 1 rank at 2nd level, 2 ranks at 6th, and so on. Each time a godling gains divine trait ranks, he may spend them on one or more traits. Raising a trait up one degree costs a number of ranks equal to its new degree, but the godling must buy each degree separately. Thus taking a new trait at degree I costs 1 divine trait rank, while taking a trait a godling already has at degree I to degree III costs 5 ranks (2 ranks to bring it from degree I to degree II, and 3 more ranks to bring it from degree II to degree III).”

Here is how I read it.

Rank 2: +1
Rank 6: +2
Rank 10: +3
Rank 14: +4
Rank 16: +5

15 total

However!

Rank 1 Trait: Costs 1 point
Rank 1->Rank 2: Costs 2 points (3 total)
Rank 2->Rank 3: Costs 3 points (6 total)
Rank 3->Rank 4: Costs 4 points (10 total)

Therefore…at lvl 18, you can afford 2x talents at lvl3 (12 points) and 1x talent at lvl2 (3 points)
Or 1x talent at lvl4 (10 points) with 5 left over.

And feats, of course, can offer more points.

My favorite:

Battle Lord IV (Su): As a full?attack action, the godling may choose make 2 attacks at his highest attack bonus (this is in place of his normal number of iterative attacks).

That is amazing! Normally: +20/+15/+10/+5
It becomes: +20/+20/+20!

That is very, very, very good. Much more likely to be landing hits that way, as the +5 iterative is usually just hoping for a 20. Someone could also fight with 2 shields (such as Dwarven warshields) and with shield master ignore two-weapon fighting penalties. That just gives you 6 attacks at full BaB. And both shields use armor enchantment as weapon enchantment, making it very affordable.

Godwyn Blaecwulf wrote:

Every race can also get an extra 10 points from the FCB.

Well worth it! And with just 1 feat you could thus have 2x tier 4 talents and 1x tier 3. That’s quite powerful.

"Okay. So it appears I've been playing my favorite class wrong for over a decade. Alright. I shall fix the discrepancies in feats and trait ranks."

"One moment please?"

Assuming the GM okays it, yes...

@Josten
For a guy with Fortune-Blessed template, the Fates Favored trait would be a GOOD thing...

@pad300

THAT is Ridiculous!! I am taking that Trait! Thanks!

I'll be applying with Maedyri.

How is necromancy viewed in the city of 7 seraphs? Does raising unintelligent undead mess with souls in this universe?

Weeelll! With all the additions I made to Josten character sheet today. I lost a lot of his other information due to space. So I will work on making a Google Doc to link all that missing info to Josten's character page. I've never had to split a online character page before due to lack of space.

Thanks everyone for your help in getting Josten correct.

Still working on my SPIRITUAKIST necromancer

Very much a WIP(obviously) but holy heck, my non magical healing abilities are gonna be off the chain and chart! LOL

Happened to me as well, :( Had to just put links in to things.

But Fallen of time is looking more and more fun to play,
I have was going big hitter show what I can do, but now going with
I think this is a call idea and as the GM said, this is the game to try out cool ideas.

Cool idea, darn that dyslexia

Then adds

"Yes Miss Milli its very nice. How about you show the others here."

I have the idea that when he sees other he sees their revised form. Kind of like Star wars visions of luke and Ray, good and evil in one vision, etc

Testing Godwyn out and playing around with the numbers with a short story and fight:

The smell of brimstone filled the air and ash clung to every surface. Charred corpses littered the ground, their forms frozen in their final moments of agony. The townsfolk had made a final stand to protect their home, but against their foe they stood no chance. The ram -headed demon was twice as tall as the greatest of the town’s defenders. Its bat-like wings dwarfed the humans, and its thick fur was only broken by old battle scars. It had gained no new ones that day. For what they faced was the General of Orcus’ armies. And it had NOT taken kindly to the accidental summoning. The few survivors were falling back; their weapons dropped in their panic. The wailing of the trapped civilians filled the air, the only silver lining to the demon lord at the annoyance. That is, until Godwyn descended.

He was as large as the demon, appearing as a robed and armor figure. Naught but darkness could be seen within the cowl, but from his back came wings of pure light. The demonic general snorted as the angel came down, stopping its slaughter. It rested its pick on its shoulder, even as a spear of golden light appeared in the hand of the angel. The remaining mortals fell silent as the two stared at each other, neither saying a word. For what felt like an eternity they sized each other, daring the other to attack. A hundred undead monstrosities, each made from one of the town’s defenders, milled about, drawn by the demon’s unspoken command. They were immaterial to the fight at hand. It was only when the demon let out a roar and moved to swing its weapon did the angel act.

It was over in a flash of light. One moment the demonic general was there and within seconds it was not. All that was left of the demon were the hundred or so undead husks that it had summoned before the angel arrived. The angel turned its head towards the masses, and on wings of light floated towards them. Lacking any way to destroy the crowd, it went about one by one destroying them. Each one was obliterated, leaving almost nothing behind. Only when the task was done did it cease, leaving the mortal plane as quickly as it had arrived. The angel spoke not a word to the humans, nor did it stay to heal the wounded. There were other tasks that required its immediate attention. The amount of people he could save by staying paled in comparison to those who would die if the angel tarried any longer that it already did. Ironically, the horde of undead had taken up more of its valuable time than the demonic general had. The angel consecrated the ground to ensure that they did not arise again. Fate sphere

The townsfolk, what was left, came out of hiding and stared at the sky in awe as towards what they had seen. A statue was erected there, to commemorate what to them was the single most important moment in their history. But to Godwyn? It was a Tuesday.

Surprised me how much single target damage he can dish out. Smite evil puts in alot of work with Cha40 and lvl 20. And only then realized that I gave him no tools for handling crowds…even his only ranged attack is a single target one. While I should probably fix that, I kind of like having that limitation. Where he is only dangerous to one thing at a time.

Godwyn’s defenses, feel free to ignore all of this. Using this to get my thoughts together:

* HP (614)
* AC (62/29/48)
* Saves (53/40/41,+6 vs Neg Energy) Roll twice pick highest
Immune (Poison, Disease, Charms, Compulsions, Fear, Acid, Cold, Petrification, Fire, Bleed, blinded, deafened, nauseated, sickened, eating, drinking, sleeping, aging)
* Resistances (Electricity/Neg Energy 10)
* Damage Resistance (10/evil and 5/good)
* Negative Energy Resistance (When a holy creature is struck by an attack using negative energy, energy drain, ability damage or drain, or hit point damage such as that from an inflict spell, the holy creature may make a level check (1d20 + total HD) against a DC equal to 11 + the attacking creature’s total Hit Dice. If the level check succeeds, the negative energy attack is canceled out in a bright flash. If the negative energy attack was dealt by a melee or melee touch attack, the creature that delivered it takes 2d6 points of damage.)
* Senses (See All - normal vision regardless of any sort of darkness, always sees invisible, tremorsense 30ft, truesight, always knows where everything within his 80ft glow is)
* Healing (Fast healing 11, maximized lay on hands, maximized channel, life sphere)

Auras:

Grace (Su) Every nongood creature within 30 ft. of a holy creature automatically takes a –1 penalty on all attack rolls, checks, and saves. Grace is a mind-affecting effect.

Aura of Courage (Su)
* At 3rd level, a paladin is immune to fear (magical or otherwise). Each ally within 10 feet of her gains a +4 morale bonus on saving throws against fear effects. This ability functions only while the paladin is conscious, not if she is unconscious or dead.

Aura of Resolve (Su)
* At 8th level, a paladin is immune to charm spells and spell-like abilities. Each ally within 10 feet of her gains a +4 morale bonus on saving throws against charm effects.
* This ability functions only while the paladin is conscious, not if she is unconscious or dead.

Aura of Justice (Su)
At 11th level, a paladin can expend two uses of her smite evil ability to grant the ability to smite evil to all allies within 10 feet, using her bonuses. Allies must use this smite evil ability by the start of the paladin’s next turn and the bonuses last for 1 minute. Using this ability is a free action. Evil creatures gain no benefit from this ability.

Aura of Righteousness (Su)
* At 17th level, a paladin gains DR 5/evil and immunity to compulsion spells and spell-like abilities. Each ally within 10 feet of her gains a +4 morale bonus on saving throws against compulsion effects.
* This ability functions only while the paladin is conscious, not if she is unconscious or dead.

I haven't decided on my L. Investigator Course of Study yet, but I'm leaning slightly toward Medicine to really nail being a master mundane healer.

If I do end up picking that, I'll have 3 different means to resurrect people, and none of them involve spellcasting or any other form magic....

I got pulled into the whole Monster Hunter Wilds launch day mania yesterday and didn't realize how long I had played until it was 3:30 AM my time. There's nothing quite like the Buffalo Bill RPG experience of skinning a monster and wearing it as a spiffy new piece of clothing while you hunt its brethren! All corny Monster Hunter jokes aside, please forgive your GM for this excitement-fueled misstep.

I need to edit this to add in something that came up in private discussions. There's some clarification needed on the PrC feature-granting epic boon. Players have to take the 'effective levels' sequentially to gain later abilities; someone taking Winter Witch, for example, would need to take three 'effective levels' to get Unnatural Cold. I'm also making a new addition to the way it works: effective PrC levels that are dead levels can be skipped; using the previous example of the Winter Witch, you could skip the effective 5th, 7th, and 9th levels since they offer no abilities.

@Josten Cailean: Oho, a Mighty Godling Bard! I can't quite say that I've seen that combination before, but it somehow works!

Concerning Divine Traits, other posters have the right of it. The number gained increases at every interval. The wording of that feature could definitely use some cleaning up, so don't feel too bad about getting the wrong impression.

Also, am I right in reading that your character was so involved that you ran out of space? As someone who has written an NPC for this game with a seven page abbreviated stabock, I tip my hat to you!

@Master Han Del of the Web: I can understand where you're coming from. Feel free to pop back in and submit something if you change your mind since there's still the better part of a month left.

@pad300: I can't believe it, but the Fable Beast is something I've never seen before! It's a neat race and nothing seems broken, so consider it approved.

@Candraphon: Lurker in Darkness is not approved since it steps beyond the bounds of what a feat should do and is objectively better than many stealth-focused capstones.

@Maedyri: Hyraeatan itself is pretty neutral on undead as a whole. Some factions like the Ashborn or Eternal Dawning view them in a negative light, while the Sanguine Sovereignty is almost entirely composed of vampires and the Icegrave Enclave have a huge number of undead members. Other planes aren't so generous, but it shouldn't be a huge issue outside of a few extraplanar trips for optional side quests.

Raising unintelligent undead in this universe functions by charging a corpse with negative energy and using the residual anima (think of it like a spiritual 'glue' that tethers a soul to the body and allows it to function) within it to bring it to unlife, so it doesn't mess with souls. Therefore raising unintelligent undead is not something that is likely to gradually shift you towards an evil alignment. I have a more complex ruling on raising intelligent undead, but that's a bridge we'll cross if it ever comes up.

One more thing: I see that you're applying with a veryx and I approve! The weird magic spider people of Hyraeatan are awesome.

@Godwyn Blaecwulf: It seems that you also like to play out scenarios to test your characters! It's a good habit to have since it helps you get a grip on the build you've made.

@Monkeygod: Trust me when I say that having resurrection options are going to be a huge boon for this game.

Is this template approved? drider template And must we match alignments for templates.

@Maedyri: Drider is approved.

As for whether or not you have to match alignments with a template, it depends. For Drider, no. But something like Embodiment of Chaos, Angel-Blessed, Animal Lord, or Exemplar of Order most definitely are.

@Monkeygod: I skimmed over the thread a minute or two ago and saw that I completely missed your question about the Leadership Sphere. Cohorts from the Leadership Sphere aren't banned, but there's some things that anyone looking to take those as an option need to be aware of.

First things first, they're extraordinarily weak compared to this game's power level. Most of them will be near-useless in combat.

Since they're not true class feature companions, they don't gain the benefits those do.

I'm imposing some limitations on some of the RAW cheese a player can get up to with this sphere with certain talents.

Lastly, I'm reiterating a point made earlier in the thread: there's a reasonable upper limit to companions in combat per player and anything exceeding five usually accomplishes nothing but clogging up and dragging down combat.

Im gonna switch to a Dwarf Legendary Fighter/Mystic with the Axe of Dwarvish lord and alot of Templates.

@Pasha, you missed these.

And yet more questions for @Pasha

1) Some third party feats I am planning to use:
Realmwalker Adept
Realmwalker Master

2)A couple of templates that haven't been used yet

Green Warden, CR +1

Alebrije, CR +2

Also, the Suzerain template, CR+1

(Should probably not be allowed...)

I brought this feat up first, and I am going to ask you to reconsider. Without it, there are just too many weird senses out there, that come into play at this level, so a to make stealth impractical (Lifesense, Tremorsense, echolocation, mindsight... the list just keeps on going, and Dampen Presence specifically only works against Blindsense and blindsight). Lurker in Darkness is the only thing I know of that works against all of them, and it still lets the guy with the strange senses make a perception check.

That sounds *awesome*. I originally had a similar idea before I went with Godwyn, but knowing that someone else is going to make that fills me with joy. I can't wait to see what you could up with.

Pasha wrote:

Exactly this! Especially at high levels, how can you tell how a character operates...or even acts...if you don't try it out?

With that in mind...trying out a tougher fight. CR21 wasn't enough, and I'd like to get an idea of what Godwyn would be like. So upping it to CR30:

The new contender

In the heavens, Godwyn had been created for a purpose. To fight, one on one, with the greatest threats to the planes. He was a duelist. He was a champion. He was a killer. But even he was given pause, given what stood before him. The red-skinned devil had three horns jutting forth from its head, and in it's hands was a flaming trident. The angel faced the devil, spear in hand. All around them angelic and infernal beings fought and died, but to the two of them it was as if though they were the only beings in existence.

Round 1
* Godwyn goes first due to natural 20 automatically rolled for initiative

Distance, 21d6x10 feet: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3

The angel lifted one hand up, and within it was a small rock. Taken from the celestial realms, it glowed with a pure light, and then shot forth at the devil.

The devil, suddenly appearing before Godwyn, tore into the angel. Golden light poured from the tears in his tabard and rents in his armor, and the angel was forced back under the sudden and unrelenting assault.

Round 2
* 191 damage taken. 11 healed, so 180 wounds. Swift action lay on hands 70HP, so 110 wounds taken.
* Devil is immune to critical hits
* Prescience (Su): At 3rd level, the incanter may, at the beginning of his turn, spend a free action to roll a single d20. At any point before his next turn, he may use the result of this roll as the result of any d20 roll he is required to make. If he does not use the d20 result before his next turn, it is lost. He can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + his casting ability modifier.
* Godwyn is staggered, so he can only take a swift and standard action. Swift action mythic point for an extra standard. Thus 2x vital strikes.

Holy Damage vs Evil: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 5) = 8

The counter attack from the angel was just as brutal. Where the devil had unleashed a flurry of blows, each one moving faster than the eye could follow, the angel had responded with but three. First, in his off hand, the angel had formed a sword of golden light, with which impaled the devil. The two were thus locked together, their faces inches from one another. Golden ichor and hissing blood fell to the ground, mixing together as the two dueled.

Time seemed to stop, as in but a blink of an eye much of the devil's wounds had vanished. It was then that another blistering attack came in, tearing into the angel. Staggered and forced back, the angel responded with but one more well timed blow, impaling the archdevil. The angel let go of the weapon, the spear fading away and an axe appearing in his hands, ready to fall like that of a headsman. But where once lay a devil, there was naught but ash and smoke. Not knowing whether the devil had fled or was banished, the angel wasted no more time searching for him. Rather, the angel turned onto the lesser foes that were still present, hunting them down with the same timeless patience.

------------------

Well! That was harder. And I am 100% certain I didn't use the archdevil to his full potential, because this was my first time seeing the stat block. And the time stop was wasted, I am sure, because I didn't really want to dig through everything. I think that a better played archdevil would have won. But...but! At least Godwyn managed to hold his ground. And once more show that against evil outsiders he doesn't hit like a truck, but rather like a comet.

At least now I have a better grasp of what he can do...and I can see where some of his vulnerabilities lie. If anyone read this, I hope you enjoyed. And if not, at least I did.

The tests were under 'ideal' circumstances. Evil outsiders that were 1v1. Against them, he is probably by himself about CR28-30, with a well played enemy likely to beat him. But if they manage to get cornered by him then he can take them down. Without his favored enemy and smite evil being what they are, I'd think that his effective CR would drop down significantly.

I'm struggling to find templates I want beyond drider and advanced. Anybody got any suggestions?

Are the class templates available?

Wanna be a Phase Spider?

Maybe Shadow Lord?. Technically, you need to a Shadow Creature, so if the GM doesn't waive that, you might need to give up advanced?

But, a shadowy phase spider does sound pretty heckin badass!

I have decided to go with the Doctor archetype for the Scholar, and the Medicine Course of Study for the L. Investigator.

Thus, the new alias, as he's literally both, lol

However, he's also Lawful Evil(with the Spheres of Power Half-Fiend template) and a Yaksha, so he's also kind of a jerk about it all, lol

Every single one of you is dumber than he is(even if you also have a 40 Int, lol), and he won't be afraid to let you know it...

A nice idea though I have my doubts. Its one of those templates that's written entirely for monsters, not PCs. Do I get the hit dice that it adds? Does it improve the natural attack I get from my other template (drider)? It sets the INT score to 7, does that affect me?

@Pasha?

Oo I like this PC, I think Fallen would get along with him only.

Fallen is lawfull good.

Background:

Time Warden 1: “There is a corridor…
Time Warden 2 (telepathically): It can’t be explained to him.
Time Warden 1 (telepathically): It can, in a way. But not by you perhaps.
Time Warden1: …There is a corridor, and the corridor is Time. It surrounds all things, and it passes through all things. But you can’t see it. Only sometimes. And it’s dangerous.
Boy: This corridor…can you enter it?
Time Warden 1: No, not in the way you imagine it, you cannot enter into Time. But sometimes Time can try to enter into the present. Break in. Burst through and take things. Take people. The corridor is very strong, it has to be, but sometimes, in some places, it becomes weakened, like fabric, worn fabric, and when there is pressure put on the fabric…
Boy: Time comes in…
Time Warden 1: …Reaches in and takes out what it wants. And we think that Time has broken into that room. Broken through, and taken away your parents.

Time is like a progressing corridor, but there are weak spots where Time – implied to be a malignant force – can break into the present and take things. There are also creatures from the beginnings and ends of time that roam the corridor looking for the same weak spots to break through.

A Time Warden task it to find these weak places, branches and spots that can let outside things come in, old building full of old things. Places of massive plane braking energy discharge, Beings who play with forces they do not understand, letting outside things in. The Time Wardens are tasked with pushing whatever comes in back out again, and then fixing, repairing or removing the time breach so it doesn't happen again.

Cronossuss Fallen of Time, is a Time Warden, vested with powers and skills to protect timelines and planes themselves. He operates and follows a strict code, as do all Time Wardens. Braking of the code has only one punishment, the total eradication of the effender form all time lines. So he takes his responsibility very very seriously. The house of Fallen, has been Time Wardens for as long as there has been time. Each incarnation of the house offers one of its children for the transformation into a Time Warden. The houses Legendary item, the TIMES EYE is implanted into the forehead of selected child. This child then has a raised under the Times eyes tutelage. Transforming into a being that can walk the paths of time and space. They also learn what can and can not be done. But with such power comes a down side, seeing into posible planes at the same time, is always disoranting. It's hard to know which here and now one is in. So most Time Wardens work with others to help them keep grounded in the here and now.

Josten has both subtypes (chaotic) and (good).

Maedyri wrote:

As much as spiders freak me out, that’s an amazing template and a cool character design. With 3 points left…

Class templates are allowed. I took fighter and ranger, in my quest to make a single attack character. Cleric, Druid, Wizard and Sorcerer are all +3.

War Machine is cool for one reason. Body blades turns her spider legs into blades. It also works with drider which gives you a great bite attack by making it two size categories larger. She becomes a Sword Spider.

As you are using spheres…it’s easy enough to have Permanent Transformation from the alteration sphere. Shapeshift lets you take slam multiple times, so you can get a slam attack or claws for each leg and claws for her hands. It’s 1d4 base, increases to 1d8 with war machine. So as a drider you can have 11x natural attacks (8 legs + 2 claws + bite). I shudder at how much damage can be pumped out with legendary rogue sneak attack + 11 primary natural attacks.

Quickling is also interesting. x4 movement, +1 attack or move action per round (move + full attack!) and can cast spells as a swift action. That’s crazy. Cast a spell, move 120ft and full attack all in the same turn! It has the downside of aging weakness, but that’s a story hook, as there are mythic ways to overcome it. It gives her something to be working towards as a reward for defending the city.
