Kara uses a dagger to cut a tiny piece of cloth from the hem of her pretty dress. As it falls to the ground, it changes from bright blue silk to sturdy-but-comfortable linen in a drab, simple brown. She proceeds to cut a few more pieces off, each about the size of a thumbprint, ready to drop them at regular intervals.

It does appear to be my dagger, Sheriff, but I'll have you know that I am a mage of the Third Order of Taldor, and I have seen battle with demons and undead, cultists and brigands, elementals and skulks, and much more. I may command at my fingertips the very elements themselves.

I agree with the general consensus that this is a good idea, and specifically with CookingOrc that "Basic" implies to me more of a "pass/fail" binary outcome. It almost seems like this should be a "Standard [Fort/Reflex/Will] save". Anything that's not a Basic (pass/fail) or a Standard (CS/S/F/CF) outcome is a special case.
