I'll get a post in tomorow, but just to infromt the croc is not popped yet. HErald Caller has a specific feature that allows summons to be healed by channel regardless of distance. I just never get to use it. So, it was at 22 HP, and is now doe to 6.
rando1000
...
Just noticed Amideo only took one attack with no movement last round. Since he's 6th level now and with a full-BAB class, he should be getting a second attack at -5 now. I'll make an additional one for you for your last attack.
Uret Jet
Ahh, classic. Sorry for my delay, I was working on ANOTEHR map like right after the previous. Left me feeling a bit dead tired. Right, time to get choppin.
Uret Jet
Had to check natural attack rules and realized I'd been running my summons at only partial effectiveness, oops.

I might consider rock creatures within a rock wall/floor/ceiling eligible for Canny Observer. I guess the question might be if Canny Observer works on camouflage (kammo-flaj-ee)?
Interpretation: I don't wanna die!

Agreed. I'll make a behind the scenes roll next time to see if you notice them before they notice you. The DC will be decent, but then so is your bonus.

Hey folks, sorry I dropped off the map for a while there. I lost the job I was going to get after graduation due to federal cuts, and right as things settled down and I found something new, my coursework hit the fan. I'm hopeful that as I transition into my post-graduation job, I'll be able to get my feet under me and find time for PbP again.
Djack Nymball
Yeah... things are chaotic all over, so I can definitely understand the plight you're in.
I for one am happy to have you with reduced activity or whenever you are ready.
What field are you studying/intending to enter? Apologies if that's been asked and answered (by me even!).
Amideo Caluzzo di Solva
PNW. Way northern California, more precisely. It's gorgeous country, nice to work in during the summer especially. Winter gets a bit miserable with the rain, so that'll be fun adjusting to it.
I poked around some looking at forestry jobs in New England since part of my family's there, but snow is not something I think I'm cut out for.
Uret Jet
Man, there are technicians for everything huh? What does that work even result to?
Amideo Caluzzo di Solva
The main goal is to get an accurate assessment of the amount of merchantable timber in a stand, but as a California specific responsibility, we also need to make sure that there are adequate markings for loggers to follow the exhaustive but necessary specifications of the California forest practice rules.

Rando: "Hey guys look, money!"
Our characters: "Let's give this to the kobolds, or maybe the dragon?"
Rando probably: "You are the worst murder hobos I've ever GMed for."

I just had a weird idea. This eye, it's inside the wall right?
Uret Jet
Poke it! I was thinking mirror?
Hand, Eye... hope we don't encounter the Riddle of the Sphincter.
See what I did there?
Why poke someone's eye when you can just attack their optic nerve directly? ;)
rando1000
And Yoltzin is a Forrest nymph!
Also, with the stone elementals still managing to get behind the eye, I'm able to give Djack flanking. Win win!
I'll allow it. Though he's already getting the precision damage, at least it will grant him (as well as either Rocko or Amideo) +2 to hit.
rando1000
well, not a crit so doesn't matter
don't forget flanking, pretty sure you have Bless in. Should be a 19, might land!
So it looks like Rocko's standard Axe attack is +10 when paired with a second attack (generally shield). So Rocko claimed a +11, which I imagine adds in the bless.
I did say that both Djack and either Rocko OR Amideo could be flanking with the two elementals Yoltzin placed in the wall. Since I didn't update the map, I'm willing to allow that the second flank was Rocko. That would, indeed, turn the 17 into a 19 (and the other 17 as well, I guess). That would turn the crit into a confirm and the second Axe into a hit (just). Additional damage would be 32 + 14 = 46, total would be 46 + 14 + 9 = 69.
Assuming no objections, I'll go with that.
rando1000
I do not have any objections myarlf.
Okay. You control the potential flankers, so I'm going with that. I'll wait until Kevin chimes in to make sure I understand his character sheet correctly, but I'm pretty sure that flank makes a crit and another hit, which massively changes the damage.
Kevin Boyer 646
Once the bull strength wears off (which I'm assuming will be after this combat), the strength mod will go back down to +5. with the change in the axe to +2, that would make a single attack from his axe +13 (+6 base, +5 strength, +2 enhancement), and a full attack of axe/shield/axe/shield would be +11/+9/+6/+4. I'll try to update the sheet and send you a scan.
Also, I seem to recall the axe gets an extra +1 vs vermin, and Rocko would get ranger favored enemy bonuses of +1 vs animals and +2 vs undead

I'm thinking about the campaign moving forward. You've already established yourselves as the defenders of Albarra and really the entire area. Through Amideo's affiliation, your group even has a certain amount of legitimate authority.
Does anyone have any goals, moving forward, for their characters? Albarra's growing, thanks to both travelers from further East and Refugees from Santa Merceda (some of whom will choose to stay). You could have a part in the expansion of the city, from clearing new land to direct involvement using the Kingdom Building rules. We could also expand adventure into larger battles using the Mass Combat rules. Any ideas of how you'd like your individual characters and/or the group to grow?
Uret Jet
Apologies for a delayed response back on that. for Yoltzin, I don't suppose she has many long-reaching goals as of the moment. She left her forest home in the hopes of finding out more about these curious quicklings her people whispered about, and has found herself int he midst of several various ventures and strange plots. I think she would like to continue her studies of the spiritual arts(necromancy), hoping to teach humans how to show proper respect and reverence for the dead. I think it also might good for her character to eventually reconnect with her village, there could be room for interesting quests that way.
I've no real experience in kingdom building or mass combat myself, but I can adapt if you'd like to move int hat direction.

Would Yoltzin start some sort of temple or school relating to her desire to teach humans about spirituality as relates to the dead? That's a possible thing for her to work on in her downtime.
I'll keep an eye out for adventures I can gear toward a return to your village.

I guess I could turn it around, is there any kind (rule set) of campaign you'd enjoy?
The whole concept about Djack was basically Tom Sawyer/Huck Finn. He's just experiencing, learning and helping.
Also, I can't tell if the different chapters were related with any overarching plot.
Djack is good with ANY classic fairytale themes, save the children, save the girl/princess, save the animals... it's difficult to imagine "order of magnitude" - could take on a gang, but not a cartel, a count or duke but not a prince or king.
The whole set of adventures (even with the other characters) has been fun, what direction or aspect keeps you engaged?
rando1000
Okay, those are all interesting questions I could give very detailed responses to, but I don't want to tip my hand too much, nor to unduly guide the players one way or another; I'd really just like everyone to know what they have available. With that in mind, I'll keep my answers brief and answer each question separately.

In many ways I've come full-circle when it comes to "D&D" type games. I apply quite a bit of BECMI logic to this campaign, aspects of the game I haven't really concentrated on since the 80s. Some of these I can integrate on my own (such as my use of modified old school Morale rules to determine when an enemy is ready to break combat). Others are more expansive and require more participation, such as Building and Organization, Kingdom Building, and Mass Combat subsystems.
The whole set of adventures (even with the other characters) has been fun, what direction or aspect keeps you engaged?
Behind the scenes, I like things that make me build and design. For every adventure, downtime, or travel map I make or integrate, there are hours of collecting and modifying maps, considering questions regarding my campaign world and its peoples, and seeing what fun stuff I can do with the reactions you as the players have given me.

Noted. Djack is kind of a Ride or Die adventurer at this point in his life. Of course, I can structure most situations to allow Djack to be in the thick of the adventure, even if other PCs were taking different roles. For example, Amideo could be leading a platoon of knights in large-scale combat while Djack infiltrates the officers of the enemy camp.
Also, I can't tell if the different chapters were related with any overarching plot.
No...ish. The Campaign as a whole is coming together out of the events for me, something I'm really enjoying. While Paizo's Adventure Paths are cool things for their cohesiveness and the completeness of the design, most of them (Kingmaker excluded) are a bit too "Plot Driven" vs. "Plot Driving" for me. So in short, you will notice connections to previous adventures and situations, but not anything so complex as an over-arching plot.
Djack Nymball
All good. If you're asking for plot hooks...
Maybe someone from Djack's past reaches out for help... a crush, a buddy, etc... "I've been having this problem (whatever it is) and I heard about this guy traveling... and it reminded me of my friend Djack from back home. Thought may you could help.
With the other/aberration theme going on with Djack, that route might be too heavy.
Maybe we delve into Elven territory, either where Yoltzin is from or another Elven area/group.
Someone is targeting Judges! Amideo and crew need to investigate.
Gnolls (and other more to the land folks) are being forced/wiped out to make way for modernization or mining, etc... industry. Maybe we have to navigate a treaty.
Legal right vs ethical/moral right.

Apologies, was buys yesterday and didn't get around to reply.
I'm not sure she'd have quite enough support to start a whole new temple to a likely controversial even if benign God, but I could see her trying to ingratitude herself with whatever pantheistic temple might exist within town. Starting small by organizing a festival akin to day of the dead of Latin America might be the way to go for her first.
Also some neat ideas from Djack! I could have fun and find meaning for Yoltzin in any one of those.

Sorry, just now got caught up reading the discussion thread and saw the 'moving forward' post.
Rocko honestly isn't a big-picture kind of guy and is much more content just doing errands, missions, and then enjoying food, drink, and companionship in the down time. He's willing to lend a hand on just about anything, doesn't have any lofty goals, and is content with having basic needs met. Don't expect him to take the initiative on anything planning or leadership-wise.
I will say as far as regional politics, he is definitely in favor of reaching out to humans and non-humans alike and is more forgiving of bad behavior if it provides more people and options.
And any of the options Djack suggested sound fine to me. I just will say as personal preference I prefer lighter fun stories over heavy, dark, angsty ones. (Please don't destroy our hometown or send it to some dimension of horror/bring horror elements to it!)

No worries there, I think. The Entropians (Wellspring of Entropy) and the previous adventure (Merchant House) are about as extra-dimensional/horror themed as you're likely to get any time soon. Not saying there won't be undead or horror monsters involved, but there are no plans to nuke Albarra).

I was excited for a moment, but then I noticed it was just an acrobatics check.
