well, here goes nothing

Will save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

Feeling the need to move decisively, Rocko will go ahead and transfer his axe to his shield hand to be able to open the door. Having dealt with some of the trickier doors in Albarra, he'll remember to lift of on the handle as he pushes in to minimize door noise. He'll also do his best to leave a gap to let Amideo rush in first

Seeing people waiting to do something, Rocko will head to the door where Djack noticed the marks. Since he's got his hands full with axe and shield, he'll tilt his head toward the door hoping someone picks up the hint that he'd like to check this room first, while being relatively quiet at first

Rocko will whisper to Amideo,

"This may be sounding strange, but I be having a hunch you talking judge-like may be giving us an edge."

"Best we all stay close, be quick. Up them stairs first?"

The whole time Rocko was cooking up the tonic, he kept half expecting one or more of the vampires to show up. It's a wonder the pressure didn't cause him to mess up.

"We be having more time after them vampires are beaten up."

He holds up a fine looking bowl from the kitchen that seems out of place to hold such a peculiar smelling liquid.

"Let's tie them two up good, put them outside, and then fight them Dead Ones."

Using some of the kitchen tools, Rocko begins whipping up a tonic that smells both oddly sweet and bitter at the same time.

"no quite like gramma be makin'. Here be hopin'"

craft check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

Rocko has a nasty idea that should make them so sick/nauseous that they would be hard pressed to break free. After tying them up, wrap a thoroughly 'soiled' cloth around their face. He has the wilderness lore and craft poison abilities to come up with something truly vile

technically Rocko has craft poison. with a little creativity, he can probably craft something quick that would seriously debilitate a couple of creatures that rely on scent. Provided the party isn't averse to Rocko using *ahem* 'bodily waste' in crafting it.

"Can we be takin em outside and have friend Momo sit on 'em?"

Rocko can give them each a few good strong punches to help on the longer sleep

"And a strong cloth soaked in nastiness tied around their snouts might go a long way in knockin' em out. I know it would be knockin me out good."

Rocko will make a pair of mighty chops on the werewolf.

based on what I see in the map I'm assuming no flanking.

battle axe power attack 1: 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 13 - 2 = 26
damage if hit: 1d8 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 4 = 15

battle axe power attack 2: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 8 - 2 = 21
damage if hit: 1d8 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 4 = 13

1 person marked this as a favorite.

which is just high enough for a 19 to miss :D

Rocko will take one mighty swing of his axe at the werewolf in front of him. Even if he misses or the werewolf doesn't go down, he'll still plan on moving over toward the other one to give Zia some breathing room.

battle axe power attack: 1d20 + 13 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 13 - 2 + 2 = 24
damage if hit: 1d8 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 4 = 14

If the werewolf is still up it will get an attack of op.

Looks like Yoltzin should be included in block 3 for actions?

Rocko will move to back up Yoltzin. At first he wants to make sure he knows what's going on before he just wildly swings at something or someone he shouldn't.

He'll suggest to Amideo and Zia,

"please be watching our backs"

I think people were gravitating toward the noise?

Rocko looks up at the windows.

"It might be loud and taking some time, but I really be wanting these windows open. Anyone got a smart-like idea?"

Rocko pats his axe as he grins, "I be knowing a clever lock opening trick or two."

Rocko looks thoughtfully at the shutters.

"Maybe we best be opening them windows fast-like after we get inside, yes?"

Rocko pats at his satchels "Got plenty of silver in coins. Not that money be hurtin any nasty Dead Ones like we be needin."

So stake him and then let the angry banshee finish him off? Not that Rocko would be knowledgeable to make that kind of plan. His specialty with undead only lies in knowing how to track them and hack at them most effectively

weird freaky thought, is there any remote chance that the banshee would be capable or willing to help us fight the final foe?

"We be leaving only to get better weapons and magic."

Rocko turns to ask the opinion of those wiser than himself.

"Are we being strong enough?"

sorry, was week of first test for all four of my classes at once. Crazy week

"Damn, no wonder them crows not be talking to Kaki."

He leans over to Yoltzin.

"I be thinking we send friend Kaki back to your village with warning note? Maybe they be sending helpful something back? Even small help is help."

"Not let us leave ... this Master be wanting us to work?"

Rocko ponders what Kaki had said. "But they still be black birds, hmmm. I have food and shiny things, if that be helping them talk."

As he pulls out several offerings from his pouches, he naturally lets Kaki know, "You get first pick if you be seeing something you like."

Rocko squints at the buildings. "Huh, those not be looking like nice elf buildings, no? Maybe I just be tired and hungry and not knowing what to see."

Rocko scratches his chin as he looks at Momo in appraisal. "Bison friend be looking perfectly fine to me. Nice long snout, maybe could use good fur coat."

Rocko shrugs "But hairless flat-face only weird to me, I be thinking?"

Rocko grunts in annoyance "Okay, so maybe rest not be a good idea tonight."

Rocko will suggest, "I be thinking we best rest first. We be finding a way over water easier with the sun back up."

Just double checking as to whether or not Djack's last two attacks included the flanking bonus or not.

Djack Nymball wrote:
Does that mean, they are also susceptible to flanking, unless specifically immune to flanking?

It's Rando's final call of course, but usually undead with human body types and facing are susceptible to flanking. I included it.

If I remember correctly, we're in difficult terrain, so Rocko will take a move to advance over and forward for flanking, then take one attack. I'll include flanking, power attack, prayer, and favored enemy bonus

Rocko grits his teeth to offset some of the fear that comes naturally against such a foe. He puts all his might into a swing that will hopefully strike true.

"Sleep, sad angry girl. We be gettin' you some revenge after this."

battleaxe power attack: 1d20 + 12 + 2 - 2 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 12 + 2 - 2 + 1 + 4 = 21
damage if hit: 1d8 + 6 + 4 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 4 + 1 + 4 = 19

just in the off chance Rocko can shift diagonally and take the second axe attack, here are the rolls.

battleaxe second power attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 2 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 2 - 2 + 1 + 4 = 15
damage if hit: 1d8 + 6 + 4 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 4 + 1 + 4 = 20

I am back to where I should be able to post. Sorry in advance if I forget in the chaos that these last two weeks and the upcoming one has/will be

For round 1, I'd be happy to have Rocko take an action before the banshee, but it does look like she beat him on initiative. The banshee should get to act again for her round 1 action before Rocko gets his round 1

I can't remember if Rocko gets his +2 preferred enemy bonus on this fort save or not. I'll roll without, then you can add if applicable.

Rocko fort save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

I noticed you didn't use the <> around the girl's speech. Does that mean she's speaking in Espan rather than Elven? Is it actual voice or in our head? Or was it just a typo?

Rocko looks at the trees and frowns, "Something be odd about the trees. They look wrong, smell wrong. Like it be wrong for the season."

Rocko grins as he suggests, "Friend Djack might be more charmed than be charming. Your folk be very good at walkin by, acting like we not here when we be right here. Even I were thinkin it were pretty funny."

Rocko nods at the summary. "They bein quite nice to us for people who not want us here."

And from Rocko's point of view, he's taking the 'can't understand what they're saying' in stride, because he's still surprised they even let him in

Hey, suggest it here first if you think it might be too much. Otherwise I think it sounds cool, myself. Can't imagine it having a huge in-game effect

Rocko doesn't want to be rude, but he's extremely curious as to what is being said.

very nice roleplaying there :)

Rocko nods "I be likin the 'not mess' choice. Best be ready all the same."

Rocko considers the obvious tracks left by the party, horses, and wagon.

"Might be good blurring our tracks a bit, play it safe like."

let me know what rolls would be appropriate. Hopefully better results this time around

well poop, looks like Rocko messed it up. Hopefully it's an unnecessary roll or a very low DC

Rocko doesn't want the horses to get spooked and run off (we did bring the wagon into the forest, right?) His first inclination is to grab a big blanket and throw it over their heads while brushing their necks and making soothing noises.

animal handling roll I guess? If Rocko has the time and a roll is needed. Does mean he will start the fight with shield and axe stowed

handle animal: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

"Some times just survivin' be easier than trying to make something else."

Rocko has an odd hunch that we should buy some curative ointments and potions. Remove paralysis, remove poison, remove blindness/deafness, and some more potent cures, preferably 3-4 of each. If need be, we can even pitch in for a wand for Zia.
