None for me, but I'd love to be there someday. Take care you guys.

In the interest of helping wrap up the adventure, I'll share a piece of behind-the-scenes info with you. Once you defeated The Mind, you've technically made the mines safe for the Kobolds gain (as safe as pre-industrial mines are in general, anyway).
There was another possible outcome, but it literally wasn't in the dice. IF my attempt at Diplomacy on Amideo's behalf had been successful on Jun 3, 06:43 am, Amideo could have negotiated an agreement between the mountain entity and the Kobolds. The DC was 25, quite do-able, but didn't happen.
Additionally, IF I'd rolled a failure on the morale check on Jun 10, 10:19 am, The Mind would have surrendered, allowing the party an auto-success at negotiating a treaty. It's morale, after HP damage, was 8, so I needed to roll 9-12 on 2d6. That also did not work in the favor of peace, and so the battle was played out to its end.
It's true I could have just "role-played" The Mind surrendering, but I like it when there are multiple possible outcomes to a scenario so that even I don't know exactly what's going to happen all the time.

Yoltzin |

Been a bit busy last couple days, I'll get a response in soon myself if able. Seems we're right at the edge of it though, yeah.
also cool to learn about the alternate scenarios.

rando1000 |

yes, technically the scenario is done. I was going to post the return journey tomorrow if no one had anything else. It's possible you'll encounter something on the way back to Albarra.
After that, there will be some in-game downtime before I introduce the next arc.

rando1000 |

You are about 60 miles from Albarra currently (12 mile hexes). The quickest route would be down out of the mountains, then due East across grasslands until you hit the road. Is this acceptible, or would someone like to take a different route?

rando1000 |

Rocko had "normalized" gnolls for Djack, so they's just people.
In general in this setting, they are. humans, by and large, tend to think of Gnolls as uncouth people, but people nonetheless. But roving Gnolls, armed with something beyond farm instruments, is definitely an unusual thing.

Uret Jet |

Reads as a raiding party to me, but Rocko would know better than someone like Yoltzin. She's never experienced tribal aggression like that.

Uret Jet |

Obviously we're about to be attacked by bloodthirsty gnolls. Quick, Amideo, charge in and blindly attack!
*cough*
We just wrapped up the advneture int eh caves, earning the chest of gems as a reward. Our party was on their way back to the city when we came across an, albeit currently nonhostile, warparty of gnolls.

Uret Jet |

I think Yoltzin would be trying to better ingratiate herself with the local clergy, to help quell some of the worries they might have about her as a potential heretic priestess. I have in mind a scene where perhaps she goes in to not just dispel restless spirits left behind by a murder case, but maybe guiding those ghosts into a more beneficiary guardianship role.
Crafting warding tokens of fortune might also be a good path for her, objects with painted skull motifs that might help to ease the fear of death. I think that'd be a nice prelude to her eventually trying to share with the town a celebration amongst her people very similar to the 'day of the dead' of our hispanic culture.

Djack Nymball |

Hi, not sure what it ends up being in game terms... but Djack is probably helping Mistress Espindola, earning his keep where he stays in a spare room.
He'd being trying to help folks, maybe at a church, school, orphanage... something that helps street kids (YES! forming a guild! j/k Amideo).
Actually, it's more like if there is a small guild... try/plan to take it over and reform it.
Otherwise, maybe help escort the refugees back home.
Maybe Profession or Diplomacy related.

Djack Nymball |

Okay, thanks guys. I'll get to work on these two and we'll see what the other two come up with.
After that I will post the hook, probably this weekend sometime.
Take your time Boss... no pressure!

Rocko is considering training some animals to help assist the town as needed - guard dogs for businesses, militia, and those who want to travel into the wilds, birds to use as messengers, anything that might be useful for the locals.
Provided there's an interest and available young, trainable animals.
Heck, even getting cart horses or plow oxen might be on order if it helps
Hopefully Kaki doesn't get jealous at Rocko giving away so much attention. I'm sure a shiny bauble or two will help offset that.
Maybe Rocko get Kaki to learn a new little stunt or two. Nothing big or combat related.

Could we buy and develop land... farm, co-op, commune, etc... ultimately, he's just out to help folks.

Actually, it's more like if there is a small guild... try/plan to take it over and reform it.
There is a guild hall; Djack hasn't been in it yet to see what types of guilds are represented. While Espan society is pretty Lawful (ie thieves guilds would be underground), Albarra is basically the start of frontier country, so who knows what goes on in there. If you'd like to work with that, we can.

You certainly could; there are acres available in all directions beyond the gate. If you're looking for something more internal, one of the local farmers inside the inner fence (which is admittedly not much protection at all, but still more than beyond) might be willing to sell a farm, or allow you to invest.

Guild, sure... trying to figure out what I mean by it, maybe the the seeds. A cooler citizen's watch group that starts with street kids. They don't steal. Like NYC's Guardian Angels.
Farm, more about relationship... can buy some acres outside and offer to employ folks to develop it. Build fences (meh or better), maybe a watch tower (wooden them stone) and a farmhouse and farm. All approved by Albarra. Not going rogue.
Also wouldn't be trying to compete and put someone out of business, would be something new to the area or thatthere is a shortage of. "Could really use another ____ sorta thing.
Any or all things mentioned, heart not set on a particular path except to help folks in need, the poor, less educated... offer opportunities.

Hey folks, finally getting into the swing of my new job, and done moving houses. I should be able to get rolling on this again. Anyone mind giving me a quick recap?
Let me know if you want to do anything specific in Downtime (about 6-weeks in game). Otherwise I'll wing something.
I went to determine how much money the Courthouse has brought in, but then I realized that despite it being almost a year IRL since it was built, in-game only a bit over a month has passed. So only 33 gp brought in during that time (after tax to the Marques) from various administrative processes. This 33 is Amideo's to do as he wishes.

Amideo Caluzzo di Solva |

Amideo would split it amongst the party!
I think for his downtime, Amideo would ride out on his circuit for a spell, making sure things are calm and orderly in the countryside, and resolve any conflicts as peacefully as possible. With any time left, he might see about finding some deputies to help with his work.

Ooo, exorcism powers. Very neat, and thematic for Yoltzin. Thank you.

The Hand that Rights and Quickly Moves Away... might be too long. Name that lyric!

Djack Nymball |

Unfortunately (hehe) when I'm enjoying a game, as much as I am this one... I don't think much of upgrades unless we level. Even them... eh.
Could Djack have found someone to upgrade his mithral chainshirt armor... from +1 to +2? I'm assuming he'd have the funds...
Dammit, I don't track those very well, either.

rando1000 |

You have 775 written down; let's go with that. The difference between +1 armor and +2 is 3,000 gp, roughly 2300 more than you have.
That's a bit much to pull from party treasure at this point. However, you can get the same AC by taking 1300 from the party treasure and purchasing a Ring of Protection +1 OR an Amulet of Natural Armor +1.
Alternately, you could get Mistress Espindola to transfer the magic from your Ring of Healing (1/hour) to your chain shirt; this is approximately the same value and would give you the extra +1 to AC. It would, of course, render the ring mundane, but you have pretty solid healing options in the party at this point.

Uret Jet |

Ooo, I should look into things I can get. I'm sure there are things of use to summoner types or general clerical stuff. I'll get you a proper post in later tonight Rando!

Uret Jet |

You didn't specify that was her home exactly, but it seems fitting enough to presume it could be. So long as that's alright with you Rando.

Uret Jet |

Gotcha, glad we could make it work- though I probably should've asked to clarify first.
Btw, the nut she mentioned is a Brazil Nut. I took one of the native words for it.

Uret Jet |

I wonder how Yoltzin traveled from her home to Ablarra. Hmm... My instincts are telling me she took the long way around, going north to avoid the mountains and then having come down the coast once reached.

Amideo Caluzzo di Solva |

Didn't realize we'd leveled up! Getting Amideo up to speed now. Along with BaB increase, I'm picking up the Enforcer feat, giving me free intimidate checks when I hit someone nonlethally. Next, just need to get a merciful enchantment for my weapon......

Uret Jet |

"You and Djack both are quite the flatterers."
Especially in comparison to Yoltzin! 8 charisma doesn't do her much in way of favours, hah. I personally chalk it up to her strange elvish mannerisms and lack of civilized decorum. If I'd realized how little I'd actually use that bow and spear, I might've put those points into charisma for an even 10 both.
