OK, character sheet seems ready... perhaps missing some formatting. Should be complete.

If I've missed anything let me know.

Just avoid hills while mounted, I guess.

Why? Crap, what did I forget?

Lol nothing just noting your name, and your horse's. Wouldn't want Jack to fall down and break his crown. But then, I guess he is nimble.

He's probably quite quick too.

Keeping with my themeing, I'm using Nauatl to represent elven using a basic translator application.

Was thinking... I know I got a saddle.

Yes, he's going to be that guy... Young, good natured and ready to explore... and jump over candlesticks!

Male Human Starving Artist 6, Cartographer 6, Babysitter 4

I'm not sure we're both new co.oanions just yet, but we can skip the introductory role-playing if wanted. Was kinda hoping for a bit of back n forth before we decided to go questions together.

I added a prompt reminding Spizz and Rocko of that. I'll message them later if they don't respond soon.

Let me know how and when you'd like Djack to jump in.

There will be an encounter on the way to the dungeon. You'll hop in at that point. Cool?

Human Male uRogue 4 | HP 32/41 | AC19/T14/F15 | Saves F+3/R+8/W+2 | Perc +8/+12 hidden-secret | Init +4

Cool!

Since Rocko never really spent his first to second level extra coin, hopefully it will be okay for me to buy the following and add it to my character sheet:

Masterwork battleaxe: 310 gp
Masterwork breastplate (well made but mix and match militia and army issue due to his unusual physique): 350 gp
Masterwork heavy steel shield (army issue but no unit markings on it): 170 gp

Four potions of cure light wounds: 200 gp

Note that he will tend to have the new armor stowed in a pack unless he's expecting trouble, as it's not as comfortable as his old leather tribal gear. He'll leave the old wood shield and battleaxe back in town at the inn's stables where he tends to sleep.

Rando, let me know if you want me to scan the new sheet in and message it to you

Male Human Starving Artist 6, Cartographer 6, Babysitter 4

Hm, I should probably opt for some masterwork gear too with my extra funds.

That would probably be good at some point.

Yes, feel free. Just make the purchase and write it down.

Sorry for the delay, now that I've posted in Gameplay... I'll actually see this in my Campaigns list!

And, double-sorry for the anticlimactic entrance... dice freakin' hate me!

Male Human Starving Artist 6, Cartographer 6, Babysitter 4

Such is stuff man.

Male Human Starving Artist 6, Cartographer 6, Babysitter 4

Imagine if we all just, while remaining perfectly in character, left Djack behind and continued on our adventure quest. .<.

Of course, we can't let that happen due to meta reasons, but the thought amuses me.

Male Human (Polish Jew/Native American/Irish) Techie 7/Martial Artist 2

lol.

It amuses me that she's thought of by two characters now as being seemingly attractive, when I have her charisma at 8.

Suppose one can look nice and be absolutely terrible at speaking and conveying emotion.

Socially awkward or unapproachable... The avatar looks attractive if with a slight scowl. Also, Elven is... somewhat exotic? She might not even know she's doing it, at times.

Low charisma could be/is also being unsure of oneself, in a deeply rooted manner. Lack of upper case Self.

Male Human Starving Artist 6, Cartographer 6, Babysitter 4

Yeep. Charisma really is more of "force of will" kinda thing, but the joke of it being appearance alone sticks.

"Man, check out the Charisma on THAT lady!"
"I'll have you know that I have a pretty powerful Charisma as well."

If you mean Elias, I think his reference to her "Beauty" was more like how you would describe a fine horse or the night sky. "Beautuiful" because it is rare or impressive, rather than necessarily attractive in a romantic fashion.

Then again, I think he is a bit of a charmer...

Assuming Djill stays outside.

It might be for the best; I'll give her a one-time no-death guarantee while she's out there, assuming you either tether her a ways away or let her wander on her own.

Whatever is logical, tying seems... dangerous. Can't run.

If you're one of those DMs that kills off mounts, nothing I can do about it.

You can try and make it a little bit harder

Very well. I'll put you down for letting her wander. You might have to call for her for a little bit once you get out, but she'll be around.

I'm not saying I'll NEVER attack a mount separated from it's rider, but it seems counter-intuitive to a dungeon setting to make it necessary to bring them INTO the dungeon to keep them safe, so I try not to encourage that situation.

Oh, I didn't ever think she was coming. Was more confirming staying outside was a given.

Male Human Starving Artist 6, Cartographer 6, Babysitter 4

If she dies, all the more reason for me to pick up necromancy. Skeletal horse? Skeletal horse.

Realised Elias was still rocking about (on paper) as a lvl1, all updated now.

HP: 1d10 ⇒ 2 ...Lame

Well intended reminder that Elias has a passive chance to spot valuables lying around without consciously looking

Noted. None currently here.

I might have forgotten to put a pip in it... Yikes! Or maybe I forgot to note it... Have to check Hero Lab, but not at laptop.

I can swap a skill point (if it's not there)... Character concept of tomb raider is supposed to have it. Essential, I'd say.

Okay, just sort it out when you get around to it.

Human Male uRogue 4 | HP 32/41 | AC19/T14/F15 | Saves F+3/R+8/W+2 | Perc +8/+12 hidden-secret | Init +4

I screwed up... didn't take it.

I can swap 1 pip of Sense Motive, into it.

With tools, I'd have +8... I need to swap out 8gp to have the 30gp I need for tools.

Sorry about the stupidity.

Male Human (Polish Jew/Native American/Irish) Techie 7/Martial Artist 2

I have a sudden realization of why a familiar player favored summoning eagles. They really are among the best options at level 1.

Male Human (Polish Jew/Native American/Irish) Techie 7/Martial Artist 2

I thought I'd codified this previously, but I don't like when people get trapping in a long string of bad dice. Once per story, if you've been failing an abnormal amount, I'll make a reroll for you. If that comes up crap too, well, it is what it is.

Human Male uRogue 4 | HP 32/41 | AC19/T14/F15 | Saves F+3/R+8/W+2 | Perc +8/+12 hidden-secret | Init +4

Yeppers, finding some balance of story vs dice is challenging at times. I wouldn't say I understood it as codified, but... You are a gracious DM.

Glad you have that provision. You seem to be much better at rolling for Rocko than I am :P

Makes you wonder how he survived in the wilderness alone for several years with him being as unlucky as he apparently is

The dice can't be trusted :) Happens to everyone. And it always stings because it seems to happen just when you want to shine or do something you own story-wise.

The struggle is real!

In one of Rando's Starfinder games I was trying to "snipe" with a rifle... 3 x Nat 1's in a row.

Male Human Starving Artist 6, Cartographer 6, Babysitter 4

Well, I I guess I should be happy rhe eagle took someone's crit rather than it dying in a single turn...

Yeah, without that eagle it would have been hard to justify not attacking Spizz with a bunch more attacks, which probably would have been the end of him, considering.

Male Human Starving Artist 6, Cartographer 6, Babysitter 4

Human Male uRogue 4 | HP 32/41 | AC19/T14/F15 | Saves F+3/R+8/W+2 | Perc +8/+12 hidden-secret | Init +4

If Kat-Man-Do and AoO, does Djack provide soft/partial cover?

Are they a known evil race?

Male Human Starving Artist 6, Cartographer 6, Babysitter 4

Probably a knowledge local or nature, for that. Though I believe only planar entities tend to be alignment restricted.

They are definitely NOT something people deal with commonly around these parts. Djack has heard legends of these creatures from native peoples who were here before the Rodrico Calendar even started counting. Djack had written such legends off, until now. In the legends, they were definitely hostile to humans; evil is a matter of debate. He knows nothing of their spiritual practice.

Grazie... and I got to say "give peace a chance" and that puts this up there as one of my fave games... EVER!

Sure, we might get slaughtered. Pfft...

Djack has Sacred Touch and would try to use it (save some cat-folk) as a sign of peace. If he ever gets the chance.
