Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

Actually....

Jack was given an Amulet of Natural Armor early on in the game. But ... this post suggests that we got another amulet of natural armor at the same time as we got the bracers of armor: https://paizo.com/campaigns/ToLiveInInfamyASkullAndShacklesAP/gameplay& page=47#2343

Who claimed those? either would be great for Sunyata. Or both.

Sunyata could really use these if unclaimed.

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

Just pick out what you want and liquidate the rest.

Jack, that is correct; you got one of each in this fight with Plugg and Scourge.

You, Jack, also got rewarded one when you warned Harrigan of a sneaky attacker when you were battling on the merchant ship that is now the Oncoming Storm.

Sphen - those are potions

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

I know that brawling armor is worth some pretty gold, but would Sunyata also benefit from that? I don't know enough about monk class, or would it substantially hurt her combat abilities? I guess probably so.

You mean bracers of armor? Those'd help, indeed.

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

no there is also chain shirt of brawling in that list. but I think that Sunyata wouldn't benefit as a monk.

Ah, sorry - missed that. No, that wouldn't help

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

Okay, proposal:

Keep all useful potions, scrolls, or magic items (e.g. I'm keeping the shackles). Sunyata gets Bracers of Armor and someone (maybe Sunyata or Rush) can get the Amulet of Natural Armor (will they stack?).

liquidate the rest (GM can you do this for us? not clear what the valuation is for a lot of the items)

Farmageddon

I'll happily take the amulet. Won't ever turn down an AC bump.

That being said, I don't know what Sunyata's AC is. If we're tied, she should take it being the more front line person anyway.

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

Some of our last combat episodes let me with the impression that we are in need of some upgrades, and maybe a tank who can soak up a lot of damage.

Can Sunyata copy her character sheet into her profile? Would help.

Can you access the link in my profile? I tried copying over the full character sheet but gave up as I'm working right now and it will take me a good while to fix the formatting as it all gets separated and discombobulated

Sunyata full character sheet

I can access it.

Yup, we're bogged down here, so let me simplify it. I'll regurgitate your list into items you're keeping plus a coin value for the rest. I'll work on that tonight.

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

sorry S. must have looked in wrong place.

Thanks Nayr for wading through that. Now that we can go to ports readily, we won't build up ancient loot piles as often.

Dont think it was your fault. I tried the link in her profile to see about that amulet. Didn't work for me but the one she just posted did.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Anytime! So, here's your net:

14,362 GP

I had to change a sharing setting. Updated profile too.

Farmageddon

Sale Totals:
2,810 SP
14,362 GP
42 PP

OPTION 1
If split 4 ways:
702 sp each
3,590 gp each
10 pp each

Leftovers: (weirdly, always two)
2 sp
2 gp
2 pp

OPTION 2
If the "ship and crew" get an equal share (so split 5 ways):
562 sp each
2,872 gp
8 pp each

Leftovers:
0 sp
2 gp
2 pp

I know we don't have to cut in the crew, but a group fund is often a good idea. Or we could consider it the Rickety fund, money to pay him back.

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

(am i reading this right that the 14,362 is for loot, so after sale of plunder its 19,362 gp?)

I think standard is, crew gets 1 unit plunder.

Unless there is a good reason to be extra generous we should probably go with standard.

We do owe money too, so we should set aside some for that.

Here's my proposal for plunder (which we got 1000 gp per unit for):

1/5 plunder for crew
1/5 toward paying down our debt to the squibber
1/5 toward improvements or repairs to ship down the line
2/5 split between the 4 PCs.

That leaves 2000 gp for plunder to split between us 4

2000 + 14362 = 16362
that's 4090.5 gp, 562sp and 8pp per PC.

more than I was expecting, actually.

am i reading this right that the 14,362 is for loot, so after sale of plunder its 19,362 gp?)

Correct

Farmageddon

So you just want to do a "party fund" out of the plunder instead of the loot? I can go for that. Six one way, half a dozen the other.

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

yes. (:

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

time for some shopping!

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

We should have a battering ram installed.

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

Sorry to hold out on you all, but Tap is carrying a rather expensive weapon: Vindictive Harpoon of Shark Bane

Which appears to be a +3 magic weapon, which usually costs ~18,000 gp.

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

Currently our ship has:
broad rudder - (+1 sailor checks)
Silk sails - (+1 bonus opposed sailing checks; waterborne speed is increased by 10%.)

These may be ones we consider purchasing soon:
Rapid-Deploy Sails: Grants +1 bonus on all sailing checks. Cost: 10% of base ship cost
Ram: 2d8 additional damage, ignore self damage first square,Cost: 50 gp (Large ship), 100 gp (Huge ship), 300 gp (Gargantuan ship)

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

ram is cheap. should add.

Yup, a Ram would be nice, though I'd of course ask for the design you want;)

Shame, Tap! Nah, I should have remembered that one...that came from the grindylow queen, I think. Sale price would be half - 9K

For fitting a battering ram - that is something you could do in Quent, but you're going to have to stay here for a while and draw considerable attention to yourselves by having the Oncoming Storm brought into drydock and disabled as its worked on. Ambrose would recommend against that...he'd rather run back to Rickety's.

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

We can sail back to Rickety's direction. Pay our debt quickly, seal our good business relations with the man.

Let's sell that harpoon (expecting to see a shark very soon as karma).

Tap is going to look for a cyclonic bow
https://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/magic-weapons/magic-weapon-special-abi lities/cyclonic/

Farmageddon

That's 4090.5 gp, 562sp and 8pp per PC.
Plus an additional 2,250 gp from the sale of the harpoon split 4 ways? Or do we want to split that up into the Ship fund as well? That would be 1,800 gp split five ways.

Now I need to find out what to buy....any suggestions? I don't really do combat stuff, so a weapon would not be super useful. Maybe a metamagic rod........

As for the ram, I like the idea of a thunder cloud with a lightning bolt coming out of it. Or a giant fist with an extended middle finger. But the cloud/lightning would be more thematic.

Neat Tap, I dig it. Long story short, they won't have that lying around, but it can be crafted. It would take a few days; you could hang out in Quent (running the risk of staying in one spot), or make a deposit - half down, half when picked up. It's 8K plus the cost of whatever bow you'd like to use for it.

Glad you guys are doing the math...

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

that kind of wait is going to generally be the case for expensive items?

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

okay, so Jack is wielding a tidewater cutlass + 1 + an applied frost rune. so effectively a plus + 2 weapon. Threat range is 18-20. I'd like to add keen, which would bring threat range to 15-20, or a 30% chance of scoring a critical hit.

The tidewater cutlass is a +1 weapon by default, with hydraulic push and has listed price of 3,395gp (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/magic-weapons/specific-magic-weapons/ tidewater-cutlass/)

The guidelines for cost by enhancement bonuses says:

+1 2,000
+2 8,000
+3 18,000

Based on this, I think adding keen will be 10,000gp.

I'm a little short, I guess.

Farmageddon

RAW, the ability to do the hydraulic push doesn't count as an enhancement bonus. So it is a +1 weapon with an extra ability. Taking it up to an effective +2 weapon would only cost you the difference in cost, so $6,000. Still short, but not by as much. And again, that's rules as written, Nayr obviously has final say.

That being said, I'd be willing to chip in some gold. Probably around 1 to 1.5 thousand.

We never got any input on splitting that Vindictive Harpoon. Are we splitting it just between the characters, or some for the ship fund as well?

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

well that shocking rune was applied to the weapon too, by a smith at the squibbers. So I think its effectively a +2 already.

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

nice to get confirmation though that the hdraulic push isn't an enhancement per se

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

Well, if Jack can't afford it now, I think I might just get a small but useful item, and save up.

Yes Jack, at least that's here in Quent. In a smaller town, it may not be available at all; in a larger city, it may be immediately available.

6K gold is fine by me to add Keen, I'm good with that

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

cool. (:

Tap is gonna hold on to his gold

Current HP: 28 of 28 Sylph Oracle 5

Okay, major thing I want to find for Rush is a Ring of Sustenance. 2.5K gp, is there a roll to see if one is available?

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

for keen do we need to wait at all?

Alas, they all take time unless you can find them, and the cities generally have a list of what they offer. For crafting time: Time Required Crafting a magic weapon requires 1 day for each 1,000 gp value of the base price. But, I feel as if we can bend that a bit so as not to completely stall ourselves.

I'll check or come up with one, Rush

Without digging through all of the tables and figuring it out, it's safe to say that, yes - a ring of sustenance would be available.

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

Okay, so in the interest of getting on with it and not slowing this all down, how do we handle this delayed purchase?

Would it better for Jack to stick around Quent, while the rest of the ship takes off to do the captain's business? Jack could probably stay low enough, and maybe even get a bit more information.

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

Will any of this gold help cover my car repair? If so, that's what I vote for.

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

Let's assume Jack requested the work on first day we got here.
