You could get 2 enemies with grease - easiest would be both of the fellows facing jack.

Color spray is a bit more tricky; you could get the halfling facing you, certainly, and maybe could angle the cone well enough to get the half-Orc facing Arden. But if you try to get any more than that there's a good chance you'll hit your companions

Well, it's plan B anyhow, and we're at least holding our own at the moment, so hopefully won't be necessary.

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

While we are waiting for Arden,

For clarification: Casting a spell provokes an attack of opportunity unless I can 5' step back first...but I'm against a pole.and both squares to my side are threatened squares. If I read the rules right I can't take a diagonal step past a wall or pole.
However I might first take a move action, and go to the left or right and then back.

However if I read the situation correctly, that would invoke three attacks of opportunity...one for leaving my threatened square, one for entering that threatened square, and then another when leaving that 2nd threatened square to go backwards.

I was thinking about tumbling and making an acrobatics check to avoid an attack of opportunity, but three AoO....ouch.

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

try to run through their legs.

You could cast defensively with a concentration check DC 17. You could take a 5 foot step back and to one side, but you will then be among the hammock, which I would rule as difficult terrain, so they'd cost 2 x movement. Also, if you move through the hammocks, I'd come up with a check to make sure you don't get all tangled up! Tumbling may be good, as you could then flank one of them, but then you run the risk of getting flanked yourself

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

Welp. So cast in place with the hope that I won't get hit during the AoA, or just continue to box.

I've been thinking about my net...
I'm not trained with its use so there is a penalty that pretty much wipes out any attack roll bonuses I have.
I bought it because its a touch ranged attack, which is its own bonus against armored foes...but I don't think these brutes are wearing armor anyway(?)

ha! it's not even Friday in New Zealand yet...long week then?

I'd kind of like to use Colour Spray if things go pear-shaped but I assume given the current situation I'd wipe out half my allies, too?

lol Its just Thursday in California. Yeah long work week.

Correct, no armor

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

Halfling Uppercut!

Nice shots guys!

Sorry if I ninja'd your post Jack! I figured you got busy so I rolled for you; not thinking that you may be waiting politely for your turn. I'm fine with you posting out of sequence, as long as you don't go before your enemies would

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

I think the sequence is:

Jack
Pirates
[Kerruk, Tap, Arden]

So I went, Pirates did their thing, Kerruk and Tap went. Then we were waiting on Arden.

The main thing is that I want to sheath my weapon (will that take an action?) The -4 penalty is ridiculous, but the Captain forbade killing, and nobody is attacking with lethal damage now, when they could be (the NPCs have that skill/feat, right?).

Correct on the sequence, but if you want to post prior to Arden, that's fine. I'd rather adjust your action if Arden's affects yours than wait for a post.

You can drop it as a free action; correct, anyone can turn their nonlethal into lethal, but they would also get that -4 to attack

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

Well I was hoping to slip the knife into my tunic, or belt, or my arm sheath. Just hate to give someone else opportunity to grab it if they wanted to.

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

too bad you don't have that weapon cord still

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

Is Tap in 10' range of any of Jack's opponents?

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

Maybe Arden left town for a few days. Or she is meditating.

Nope, Arden - you gave him a good shot, but he's still standing. Have at 'im!

Jack - is your party against Fipps or the other fella? In all honesty, this is my first time playing with a swashbuckler, but seems like an awesome class!

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

Perhaps you meant parry instead of party ;)

Ha! Well, whatever works

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

Jack asked me to convey that he is on a hike and that Jack would like to parry Fipps.

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

Sigh

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

Slowwww punch. Like Neo in the Matrix. The half-orc takes it in the chin.

Which chin?

Sorry Jack, ninja'd again!

Ooo, that's gonna do it for that pirate as well, Tap!

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

Nope. Not ninjad. I communicated Jacks intention to parry Fipps earlier in this thread.

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

crit

And Fipps is down! Nice hits guys; Fipps is unconscious but not bleeding out. Just need Kerruk and Arden then we'll wrap up the round

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

Too bad on your rolls Kerruk. A trio KO would have been AOK.

Hi, I am going to be absent due to work. I hope to back to the campaign by the weekend, or early next week. Sorry, just very busy with work.

Take your time Sara; see you when you get back

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

...totally understand, Sara.
I look forward to your return to the campaign.

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

I'm still learning the rules and am curious.
Does Arden get a flanking bonus on her attack roll?

And to be entirely pedantic, Jack would not have yet knocked out Fipps when Arden attacked. :)

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

Timelords should definitely be a class... somewhere.

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

Excellent suggestion. I'm sure GM Nayr is an expert in navigating temporal paradoxes.

Arden couldn't make it all the way to a proper flank without inviting Aoo, but if Jack took a 5 ft step, then certainly.

I figured that Arden was coming at Taptap's urging, but yeah - these things can be a mess when we go out of order, but it's the best way to keep rolling. The Pirates have effectively given up their turns, so if we stay in action, Kerruk's up

Male Human (Garundi) Shaman 2 Rogue 2

Wonder if I should Charm one of these folks or save it for later in case we need it more...it only lasts an hour, so good for de-escalating threatening situations

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

lets see if my generous heal works as good diplomacy.
in fact maybe you all can help with a diplomacy roll too.

Wow, this is a huge leap ahead as far as the AP is concerned. I'm considering this as such:

Kerruk's roll is the lead
Taptap's roll is an aid +2
Taptap's cure is a +2
Result is 25
This will affect all in earshot - 6 Pirates

Now I just need to look up their charisma bonuses

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

Nice roll Kerruk! erm and diplomacy bonus.

Lol; their char is 8...good chance you changed everyone's attitude

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

Oh my. Power PC Moves

Male Human (Garundi) Shaman 2 Rogue 2

Neat! A few less hostiles might be nice.

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

Well on our way to our eventual takeover of the Wormwood!

I suppose we should wait until GM Nayr updates the NPC attitudes before choosing our daily action.

Male Human (Garundi) Shaman 2 Rogue 2

Well on our way, but a long way yet I suspect. Still, we've made some friends among the grunts.

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5

Taking over the Wormwood? I just want to get off the damn boat!

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

Cap'n Taptap promises to let Jack off the boat.

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

wrong forum?

FleetFooted Halfling 39/39 hp |Loot|The Shackles Map

Are we on the medium experience level track?
