FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

GM Nayr, would you accept my roll I already posted as my perception roll, then add my +7 bonus to the 5 I rolled = 12, or just try Sea Shanty in the future? I am fine with either of course.

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

Can I for my daily ship action go down and sing a sea shanty to X-eye?

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 4

1 dagger in wrist sheaf

Which brings up the fact - Jack and Arden, Imm not sure if you let me know what one item you wanted to keep with you; you lose all other of your possessions upon being press ganged into service.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Arden retained a skane that was important to her. It is a knife used in rituals by the church of Pharasma.

What would you use that roll for, Tap? You could go down and perform, yes. You could time it during the day so as not to look like shirking your duties.

For perspective; this is day 1 of perhaps 2 dozen days at sea, so don't show all of your cards quite yet;). You won't die....maybe.

Thanks guys; sorry if you had already given me that info

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

Actually I rolled 3, not 5. My mistake. Well, I figured, I'd try to avoid becoming fatigued...singing a sea shanty (3+7)to myself ever so softly.
Ill write th rest in the gameplay area

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

phew!

Nighttime actions posted; I'll post a list of ship areas to explore for those who would like to do so with nighttime actions.

Arden - just need your daytime action, then we can move forward

Male Human (Garundi) Shaman 2 Rogue 2

Whoops, sorry, getting ahead of the curve here. A slow night at work...

No problem! Crappy roll anyway, so you can reroll it when we get there

Wormwood maps and locations added to campaign thread for your use; this would be information easily enough gleaned on board.

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

cOOLTap is pretty sneaky.

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

I am not sure what is happening. :)

Male Human (Garundi) Shaman 2 Rogue 2

I'm thinking we're a bit out of sync...I rather jumped the gun earlier. Nayr, can we assume that we'll nominate our night actions after the 'bloody hour'?

In which case, we can cancel my previous order...

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

And my last song was also meant to be a nighttime entertain action. I'm fine with whatever you decide GM, of course.

Yup, I figured you guys were just ahead a of the game and would repost those actions when we get to nighttime actions. No worries; day 1 - we're just getting the hang of it

If Arden does her job in the rigging, is that her daytime action?

Nope! You get another

Yes, the woman is still with you

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

Just p
layed it down Jack! Pick a side. :)

Sorry guys; may be a bit hurtting for time today. I've been stringing you along with conversation till I can make a big post

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

np. My work load also ebbs and flows.
Ha! Very thematically appropriate to the AP. :)

Ha! True indeed!

On a work trip; have arrived and set up. So...off to posting!

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 4

Is Jack's cutlass too big of an item to take out the bag? How about the buckler?

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

I assume that there is a weapon prohibition on board (i.e., cutlasses are kept in the armory), and only sea knives are allowed. Have we seen nmost sailors carrying weapons?

Jack: I imagine a cutlass would be hard to hide.

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 4

Then how about my buckler. Other than that, I have oil, candles, a grappling hook, some air bladders for diving, a pouch of lost coin 20gp (i assume that was taken too...)

I'm frankly disappointed in the official rules stating that you can't do a shield bash with a buckler. The buckler was not just a small shield, but was used as a weapon in its own right, used like a metal fist. They were often adorned with spikes for extra damage. Much less clumsy than a big heavy shield. In terms of damage caused, it couldn't be less than that for something like metal knuckles. Knuckles are listed in the weapons inventory as doing 1d2/1d3 damage (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/ultimateEquipment/armsAndArmor/weapons. html#martial-weapons-table).

See http://www.thearma.org/essays/SwordandBuckler.htm for a nice essay on the history of this weapon.

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

snort. I told you, I should have not bought any equipment, and just kept all my starting gold in a money belt. :)

Arden will wear her sling around her arm as a strap or her waist as a "belt". Not too sure how long a sling.

Since Arden has the Catch Off-Guard feat, does that mean she can use improvised "sling stones"?

Arden - I'd say yes; that's sure a neat loophole

Jack - I tend to agree; seems a buckler would be quite a bit easier to swing. A cutlass could be concealed near your hammock, but would be a bit tricky to carry around. Why don't we say that Sandara didn't think it was wise to get you a cutlass, so instead got you a light weapon - a dagger, for example.

Your coins are gone too, no doubt claimed for your 4 star accomodations.

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 4

Hmm, I'd better backtrack my game play then, since I already claimed a purse with gp.

I already have a dagger, retained.

Let's say I found my grappling hook in Sandara's bag..

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

If I may recommend, Jack. I'd take the buckler (if this can be reasonably hidden). Or the soap.

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

Besides, could a grappling hook, (and) its rope be hidden?

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 4

Strangely, the buckler was not in the bag. Will have to do without.

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

Is the buckler not an option?

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 4

I thought it was my grappling hook, but it was my buckler.

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

In fact Tap retires. I could use a sea shanty to help avoid exhaustion doing some nighttime exploring, but then people might hear me

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

Oops wrong forum lol

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

A sea singer learns to counter seasickness and exhaustion during long sea voyages. Each round of a sea shanty, he makes a Perform skill check. Allies within 30 feet (including the sea singer) may use his Perform check in place of a saving throw against becoming exhausted, fatigued, nauseated, or sickened; if already under such an effect, a new save is allowed each round of the sea shanty, using the bard’s Perform check for the save. A sea shanty has no effect on instantaneous effects or effects that do not allow saves. This ability requires audible components.

Does this mean that if I had chosen to explore in the middle of the night and had became fatigued/exhausted the next day after failing a Constitution check, I could use a sea shanty the next day to try to recover?

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

At level 2, I'll get a monkey familiar. Too bad a monkey is so small...it would be bad ass if Taptap could ride the rigging on his ferocious monkey mount.

Tap - yup

A monkey riding halfling would be incredible! Just work on an enlarge spell and you're good to go

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

:)

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 4

I can see why Mr. TappityTap would be the life of the party. (:

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

Fipps Chumlett wasn't mentioned by Sandara, I do not believe.

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 4

Just for clarification, is Jack alone with these half-dozen NPCs, or do I have my mates about? You know, 'cause I'm inclined to have him run away screaming his head off like Pee Wee Herman.

Ugh... that Intimidate roll was weak. We don't have any spare Hero Points lying around to we? Can anyone assist?

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 4

Well, its good to have friends, inn't it? I can roll an intimidate too, but I'm thinking either an attempt at diplomacy (what do they want anyway?) or an attack. I have a pretty robust bonus to initiative, and bluff, which I thought I might use in combo, like: Oi! Mr. Scrubbs, can I help you!? looking past Fipps shoulder. He looks back, and I strike. I figure, if we take out the leader, one of us can become leader of the gang.

FleetFooted Halfling |Loot|The Shackles Map

This guy is being a jerk, but not yet deserving death. Diplomacy/Intimidation/Bluff out of situation.

Jack, 6 + the ones on the stairs against us 4 PCs(not counting on Sandara) not good odds. If fight is necessary, it may be that knocking the fatman senseless, will get the others to stand down. If possible, we can try to all focus on him.

Kerruk's charm spell seems great.
Wish I learned the sleep spell.

Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 4

If I were alone, I'd use my acrobatics to try to get through. What spells do you have ready Tap? Grease?
