Meredith Ulmari |
The small blonde haired boy waves goodbye to his new friends Meredith and Denair and that slow Elf guy whom he never remembers his name "Bye guys, good luck having fun without me. I guess Zav and I will just have to squash bugs and drink cocoa without you." He says as he wipes a tear from his eye, and swings his wooden axe at the large half orc's legs.
"Don't worry kid, the church will take good care of you in the meantime. And one day you'll be ready for the Pathfinder Society, I know it!" She pets him on the head and hands him a gold piece. "Buy some more syrup for yourself, alright?" Meredith stands up and heads off.
Denair gives him a wink before following Meredith, mimicking the hand motion he taught her that pops open locks without trouble.
Bani Woodcarver |
Hey guys, I'm new to PFS and PbP, but I've got a few APs under my belt. I'm looking for a chance to play my first Pathfinder Society game, but I'd like to start small, and as such I'd rather play in Core mode with this character.
A short gnome with carrot colored hair stops in front of the Flaxseed Lodge and plants a wooden sign in the gardens just outside the entrance.
The sign reads─If you’re reading this, then you shouldn’t stop, because I’m right behind you and I hate when people stop reading what I write before the end. I’m Bani Woodcarver, and I’m looking for a mission!”
The gnome stares proudly at her sign, then hides behind a large three, waiting for someone to notice her announcement.
GM Hmm |
Welcome, Bani!
I'm hoping that there will be an announcement of some core games for you soon! Keep your eyes out, as GMs post new ones fairly often!

The mysterious lady in the bright red mask hangs on to the soapbox she carted in with her as a makeshift stage, and makes her way to the central courtyard, where she notes a number of pathfinders lounging and waiting for new assignments. She steps on the soapbox, and prepares to make a speech.
"Ahem! I was having tea with Drendle Dreng the other day, and he was complaining about how nothing gets on his nerves more than seeing Pathfinders without jobs to do. He told me that while we have no lack of field agents, we need more staff here at Flaxseed who might be willing to help send others on their missions!"
She looks at the group seated before her. "So I'm initiating a Special Training Program in Ustalav! I am hoping that it will help a few more of you get into the business of organizing so that we can keep our agents going on missions." Then she grins. "You may even get a little field time yourself. Ustalav is a dangerous place, you know!"

I am running a GM 101 for Play-by-Post using Phantom Phenomena. Everyone gets to GM one quest in the series, and you all take turns as players, providing feedback to the others.
Everyone gets a chronicle. Everyone gets a GM credit. If you're interested, feel free to reply to my recruitment thread.

Skerdo Cabeza de Vaca |
A rather average-looking young man strides in, rolling his shoulders effortlessly and working some knots out of his neck. "Well, that was fun. Nothing like observing a Confirmation..."
Glancing around the room, he pitches his voice slightly louder and says, "Attention, folks! Venture-Captain Valsin is looking for some Pathfinders to take on a mission of some minor diplomatic and strategic importance...though it sounds like things could get rough, as well. If you've nothing else to do, and would like to root out a possible spy who's targeting Absalom, you can sign up for the mission here!"
He tacks a notice to the bulletin board, and then heads over to the bar to relax.
Running 06-05: Slave Ships of Absalom in NORMAL (non-core) mode! This is a Tier 1-5 scenario. Open to anyone who wants in--I'll hold a lottery for five players tomorrow at noon, EST, if I have enough sign-ups.
Skerdo Cabeza de Vaca |
Seeing that a number of Pathfinders have signed their names, Skerdo finishes draining his mug and heads back to look at the sheet. "That should be fine--alright, will Varonwe of Riverspire, Amut Al'Noor, Roscoe Thorngage, and...wait, this just says 'The Thundering Spirit?' Who the heck is that?!" Glancing around, he shrugs and says, "Well, those four...if that actually is four...will you all go report to Venture-Captain Valsin, please!"
Alexis "The Odd" Trismegistis |
A Gnome walks into the lodge, sits down by herself, opens a huge tome swinging at her side, and begins muttering to herself in some strange dialect of Osirian.
Level 1 True Silvered Throne looking for an evergreen to put me at level 2!
Kristoff Briarheart |
A pale green half-orc with animal hide covering his torso and head, creeps into the lodge. He peers around the room, and finds a table in the back. "Biggest mug of ale you got." He slaps a couple gold coin on the table. Oi! What's an orc gotta do to get some work round 'ere? I'm gettin rusty.
Gallard Stormeye |
A massive grizzly bear sporting an unusual pair of horns from his head lumbers into the lodge's common room bumping several pieces of furniture along the way. Those familiar with him recognize the beast as venture captain Gallard Stormeye.
He clears his throat and speaks in a growling bass. "I need a few pathfinders eager to put a little wear on their wayfinders. It's caravan guard duty - nothing glorious - but it's got to get done."
I'm looking for three more players that can post at least once per day (preferably more than once) to participate in #3–23: The Goblinblood Dead. This is a 1-5 scenario. If you're interested and you can keep up with my posting expectations please check in here.
More than a decade has passed since the Goblinblood Wars left the nation of Isger in shambles, and the Pathfinder Society uses the many abandoned roads through the county's interior to smuggle valuable relics. But when a series of attacks on the Varisian caravans carrying the illicit cargo puts the route in jeopardy, it falls to the PCs to investigate and rid the region of the threat to the Society's operations.
Kranzer Kraken-Mouth |
--CORE Game--
A pudgy dwarf totters into the lodge, chewing on a bar of soap. Looking around at those assembled and waiting for missions, he says, "Oy govs! Just got wind of a mission in my favorite puss-filled sore of a city: Kaer Maga. Something about a lodge startin' up where there shouldn't be."
He pins a sign-up sheet to the board, and then he goes and sits down at a table, producing a worn deck of cards from his pack.
"Tha's my work fer the day. Now who wants to play some cards, neh?"
Starting up a core game of The City of Strangers Part I: The Shadow Gambit. Signups will run through tomorrow, ending at 9 P.M. Central, and if there are more than six signed up there will be a lottery shortly after. I am looking for at least one post a day. Sign-up sheet
All Flaxseed expectations are to be observed.
Gallard Stormeye |
The giant ursine awkwardly flips over the parchment he's reading from with a longsword-sized claw and reads from the back.
"It turns out I need more experienced pathfinders too, ones that aren't afraid to tangle with some monsters stinking of Hell. I've got a mission deep in Chelish territory..."
I'm looking for three more players that can post at least once per day (preferably more than once) to participate in #0-22: Fingerprints of the Fiend. This is a 7-11 scenario. If you're interested and you can keep up with my posting expectations please check in here.
When a retired Pathfinder's nephew goes missing after allegedly discovered the fabled city of Rachikan of the ancient Jistka Imperium, he turns to the Society for help. Now you've been sent to the coast of devil-tainted Cheliax to uncover the missing nephew's whereabouts and to, quite possibly, uncover one of the most sought-after legendary cities on Golarion. But you have to move quick! The Aspis Consortium is rumored to be racing to the site ahead of you and their involvement could spell disaster for the Pathfinder Society.
Gridger Rusk |
An Oread wanders into the lodge, and posts an assignment on the board, he does this all in silent, and then make his leaves. Just as he is about to step out the front door, he sighs heavily, turns around and says. "We're recruiting, check the details on the board!"
Looking for a few more brave adventurers for 5-23, Cairn of Shadows. This is a tier 5-9, and we will be playing in standard!
The innumerable cairns and burial mounds of Barrowmoor in northern Nidal contain untold treasures and terrors, and the local taboos and Nidalese theocracy are typically enough to keep any but the boldest from exploring the site; however, when the Blakros family informs the Pathfinder Society that their shared enemy is in pursuit of a dangerous artifact, the PCs must brave the shadow-stricken region to keep this object from falling into the wrong hands.
Indra Gahanartakee |
Hi all, looking for standard format games, only have level 1 characters at the moment and this is the only one ready for use right now. While I can, in theory, post 1 time per day, in reality it's generally once every 1 to 2 days depending on the day and what's going on IRL. Been wanting to play more society but there aren't any groups locally I can play with nearby due to my schedule. Look forward to playing with you all.
Indrana had only recently arrived in Cassomir and found the place lovely if a bit pretentious. It was certainly different from Absolom and she had to admit she liked the changes. She'd been here for maybe a week, staying at a modest inn and giving a few performances at a dance exhibition hosted by the local Shelynites where she'd managed a decent showing. She didn't win but she was pleased with where she came in at and had treated herself to a nice meal at a Vudran restaurant where she was treated as a woman befitting her station in Vudra society expected. Indrana tipped her waitress well for her service and it was as she left that she heard someone speaking about a Pathfinder Lodge called Flaxseed. Having not taken a job with the Society for a number of months now she came to the conclusion that she should go check in, who knows what she could find. Getting directions was easy and finding it not much harder.
As she entered the Lodge and looked around she was interested in who and what she could find. She spotted a table that was unoccupied and gave her a good view of the room and headed towards it. Those who looked up saw a slight young Vudrani woman a little over five feet tall with dusky skin smooth skin, long brown hair in a braid to her knees, and black eyes. She moved towards her chosen table with a gentle controlled grace while wearing traditional sari that left her midriff bare over her halter top and flaring skirt that reached her ankles, all in green and red silk.

A soaking wet Pathfinder runs into the main hall of the Grand Lodge. Water pools under his feet as he yells to anybody that will listen.
"Master Shaine is looking for two more Pathfinders to head into the Overflow Archives to deal with...um...a problem! Please, if you're interested go talk to him!"
Two seats open for a level 1-2 classic play 06-15: Overflow Archives.

This is one of my favorites. I'd even consider burning a star to experience it again, but I'd rather let other players experience it for the first time.
Copper Tam |
"Wow! Been a while since I looked at anything. I feel like a fresh babe in arms all over again!"
Been away from the scene for years, just getting back. Have a number of low-level characters; mostly Level 1. Just making my first Core.
Solomon Goodman |
A servant walks into the lodge, hands a small sheaf of papers to the somewhat inebriated half-orc strumming his mandolin at the end of the bar.
"S-seeking a small cadre of adv- er whhat!?"
The skald rereads the missive a few times and stands up. "Outrageous! Resssearchers? We pafthfinders are warriorors! Molded for the gllory of righteoush battle, not this-"
The servant whispers something in his ear and he breaks into a grin. "There will be music?"
He stands up, knocks his barstool over, picks it up, knocks it over a second time, then looks sheepishly at the servant who proceeds to pick it up for him. The sloshed singer makes his way over to the job board and proceeds to post a page on it, narrowly avoiding including his finger.
"Seeking a small cadre of researchers to sneak ar-"
He flips through the stack of papers again and sighs. "Grr... one pol... polpy... poppypurpose palacy... YOU KNOW THE THING!"
He knocks back a small vial and shakes his head. "Oh right! I remember that place... Such a wonderful combination of culture, charm, and history! Seeking a small cadre of researchers to undertake a top secret mission on behalf of the society! Vagrants of violence need not apply."
He sits back down and mutters to himself. "Polypurpose panacea... say that three times fast."
Since the special is wrapping up, I'm now recruiting for 5-11: Library of the Lion (Standard). Those of you who are not familiar with this particular scenario should note that combat is not a significant portion of this scenario. I will very likely follow it up immediately with a few more scenarios of similar style but for now we'll start with this one.
Yesmoro Soulsnatcher |
A hulking nagaji steps up to the new notice, flicking his forked tongue in excitement. "I believe the particular objective noted here will be enjoyable enough to ssslake my appetite for knowledge," he says, ending up very verbose as he takes as much effort as he can not to say the letter 's.'
Signed up. Yesmoro here primarily does do combat, but he loves to learn and is also a utility/knowledge character on the side.
Solomon Goodman |
Also, anyone signing up for Libary of the Lion, please read my rules and make sure you're OK with everything you see there.

Having sat and finished her observations of the place Indra realized there was a new addition to the room, one who seemed to be recruiting for a job. She approached the table and asked, "What is this exploration mission for and how much experience do you require?"
Solomon Goodman |
"All right... let's see here... Would the following adventurers please check in over here and fill out the forms for their library cards."
He stands up and one by one goes down the list of required agents for Library of the Lion
"Copper Tam, Narayan Singh, Yesmoro Soulsnatcher, Kolris Isimlothe, Untir Jonrot, and Mr Copperpot."
He makes a double take. "Copper Tam and Copperpot? Any relation? Any how, gather your gear and head over to the lodge for your assignment. I'll meet you there once I find a good hangover cure."

Kiboko |
2 people marked this as a favorite. |
A towering grey-black half-orc with white facepaint and bleached dreadlocks enters the lodge, followed closely by a waddling, sweating hippopotamus.
"Kiboko is bored. Kiboko seeks new experiences in far-away lands. Kiboko is wise in the ways of the jungle, and in ways of warfare. Where can Kiboko find feed for Mvumbu? Mvumbu is hungry. Mvumbu gets angry when she is hungry."
The half-orc turns to the hippo: "Do not fear, wise and beautiful Mvumbu, food is plentiful here. Kiboko will scrub you down after you have fed.".
The half-orc passes a large bone to the hippo, who chews on the bone happily.
Level 1 mad dog barbarian, looking for my first pbp. Have already played Hall of the Flesh Eaters though.
GM Giuseppe |
Hey everyone, I'm looking for a substitute for my Core campaign here on the boards. Everyone interested please check this link. Thanks!
Castamir the Free |
A charismatic half-elf with a smile that portrays both knowledge and mischief enters the Lodge. "I hope some of you younger agents are hungry for an adventure!" he says with a light-hearted tone. "I just came out of a meeting with Valsin, and he asked me to round up a group of agents for an easy mission." He gives sarcastic air-quotes around the word easy.
"If you're interested, come talk to me. Time is of the essence!"
Now recruiting for 06-08 The Segang Expedition HERE. I'm looking to do a fairly fast run (2+ posts per day.) Once I get caught up here, I'll start working my way through requests at a more normal pace. I'm going first come, first served on this one, but I'll likely switch to a lottery for future games.
Dungeon Master S |
Castamir nods, "You're an eclectic group, that's for certain, but I like the cut of your jibs. Hustle on up to Valsin's office and may Desna smile on you all. I expect a full report after."
Would the following agents check in HERE for The Segang Expedition:
Amun-Heth
Barl
Haska
Traceni Skrit
Lady Alya De Qill
Jeydahvu
Amarion Lianothel |
Quick! Time to invent an assignment if you don't have one already! Drandle Dreng's got some daftness afoot that he wants to throw at idle Agents. Novices should especially stay out of his way unless you want to be dragged all over Absalom in search of whatever minutia he's obsessed with today.
Recruitment is open for a run of The Wounded Wisp, click here to sign up for the lottery.

"There's a spot left. Anyone wants to fill it?" shouts the tiefling, taking the piece of paper in his hands and looking at the lodge.
"Agents, come this way. I call Lord Fizzlebotham, Varies, Robyyn, Findlefarb, Indra Gahanartakee. That's a strange name, Varies. Anyhow, come with you all!" he says, already leaving the Flaxseed lodge.
Shieldbug, DM S, Zin Z'arin, Wrong John Silver and Drogeney can report in the discussion thread. If anyone wants to join us for Hall of the Flesh Eaters, tier 1-2, you're welcome!
