About Bani Woodcarver
Character's Sheet
BACKGROUND
Born and raised in the gnome settlement of Wispil, in the Verdant Forest, Bani always worked as a woodcarver with her family, their goods eventually making their way to Cassomir. Thanks to her mother she learned how to craft ornate bows carved with decorations inspired by gnome culture, but especially by nature and the world of animals. Indeed, she spent most of her time wandering alone into the forest, and for her that was not real loneliness ─ her most trusted friends were ancient trees, colorful flowers, and especially animals, no matter if they were little worms or large animals. Bani always claimed to be able to communicate perfectly with them and to understand their emotions, even if few people took her seriously in Wispil.
In addition to her love for nature, Bani has another great passion: she loves reading big books about Golarion’s history and archeology and finding out all of the new discoveries made by the Pathfinder Society. One day, after the delivery of a shipment of timber in Cassomir, she decided to take a look at some books about archeology located in the city library. She found out a book about Azlanti art and archeology and, while she was reading, she listened to scholars talking about an expedition travelling around Golarion in order to steal ancient treasures, sell them back and get illegally rich. That was wrong. The world had to know its history and culture. Driven by anger and passion, she abandoned her hometown and family with an honorable purpose: defend the history of Golarion by joining the Pathfinder Society and let the world discover all the stolen artifacts that deserved to be preserved and valued. She spent a few years of training in the Cassomir Lodge, receiving most of her initial teachings from the local Venture Captain Hestia Themis, then she traveled all the way down to Absalom, where her education and training were completed.
