The wagon rocks violently as it absorbs another salvo of devastating attacks. It's effectiveness is rapidly deteriorating under this sustained concentrated fire, but it remains intact - at least for the time being. The Dirtling soldiers, on the other hand, aren't looking so good. Even though you're still completely unused to the wagon's strange weapons, any shots that manage to connect do so with devastating effect. Though the battlefield is now thick with smoke, you can tell that approximately half of your enemies lie slain.
I think my last post confused the turn order a bit, as several people acted twice last round. To rectify, I need actions from Percy/Abrasax (who can finish reloading and firing the big gun once again) and Silence. Then the enemies take their actions, and we'll be able to proceed as normal.
Percy's next shot lands squarely in the middle of a group of soldiers manning 'boom tubes.' With them out of the way, the incoming fire drastically decreases.
New round now, so everyone can post actions now. XD
Sigrun once again fires the bizarre projectile ate the enemy soldiers, hoping to put them all down before the wagon-thing they were in was blown apart.
Your wagon is dangerously close to falling apart, but your enemies seem to be in just as bad a shape. Another good salvo or two should break them - or your cover.
With one final furious salvo, you successfully disperse the remaining Dirtling troops.

Gas Mask:
Gas masks are rubberized-cloth masks fitted with thick glass eyepieces and a charcoal-dust filter in a rectangular canister that screws in near the mouthpiece. A gas mask is worn tightly around the head and face, allowing the user to breathe in hazardous environments. A gas mask grants immunity to inhaled poisons and other non-magical airborne attacks that require you to breathe them, and a +2 bonus on saving throws against magical cloud or magical gas attacks. Using a gas mask imposes a –2 penalty on hearing- and sight-based Perception checks. A gas mask’s filter canister can be used for 8 hours before needing to be replaced.
Percy lands an adrenaline fueled kids on her SSToW and let's it linger for a sec. Then she looks around. This thing has served is purpose. Let's shift back to gas form and take a look around.
Since there's really only one place of note here...
In the center of the ruined village, you find a pile of burning corpses, sending a plume of greasy black smoke into the air. Standing nearby, gazing stoically through the flames is a slim man with an unkempt beard and a long cassock. He speaks matter-of-factly to in in (surprisingly) Common - although with a thick Dirtling accent. "You have come for my mother. But it is too late. Her Thrice-Tenth Kingdom will soon be mine. Look - even her little hut grows saddened at her loss." He points behind you at the Dancing Hut, currently pacing back and forth in apparent agitation.
Percy snickers at the man as she regains solid form. You dare to go up against an Eldest and expect to win? If you're really her son then you know what she is capable of, and what she'll do to you if you keep this tantrum up young man!
"What have you done with Dearest Grandmother?" Neverhome demands. He had lived in fear of Baba Yaga all his life and wasn't in good standing with his own mother so he could understand this man turning on his mother, considering who she was, but he highly doubted that that was a good thing for anyone else.
The man chuckles ominously. I'm afraid she's ... indisposed ... at the moment. You see, I'm very much aware of what the Witch is capable of - but she vastly underestimated me. It would be best for you to leave Grigori alone. Give up your search, and go home. Россия is no place for the likes of you."
Roosseeay? Is that where we are? Huh. Wierd name for a little village. They tend to go for the homey feel.
Anyway, you can drop the ominous chuckle routine Mr. I'm-Trying-Too-Hard. Where's your mother. We have a score to settle. Meaning we need to loose her on your wrinkly backside, of course.
"You claim Dearest Grandmother underestimated you... but you are fool who left her alive, and now you are fool for underestimating us." Neverhome coldly adds.
Sorry about the lengthy delay. Things will continue to be rough at least until the end of the year, as I'll be traveling to take care of an ailing family member. I'll be bringing my tablet and GM materials, so hopefully I'll be able to get some posts in during down time, but I can't make any promises. In other news....
POSTED TO ALL MY GAMES: I received an anonymous Paizo gift this morning. No idea who it's from, but if you're responsible, please know that it's greatly appreciated. Life's been particularly rough for me lately, and your generosity lifted my spirits. Thank you.
Grigori sighs in mild annoyance. "So be it. Your empty prattling grows bothersome. You were most foolish to come here. Now you will die; no better than these poor peasants." He stares piercingly into your eyes before gesturing toward the pile of smoking corpses. As he slowly fades away into nothingness, the burning bodies animate, melting together in a grotesque symphony of charred flesh and blackened bone.
Will DC 23 vs greater forbid action: Move Move: The target can take no act that would cause it to end up in a different location. The target does not resist being moved by others (and thus can be picked up or dragged, or can float along on a raft), but does not consciously attempt to move (including not directing a mount to move).
will is my jam:1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 35 kn:rel:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Percy shakes off the spell and looks at the lumbering hulk of animated bodies. They do not have time for these shenanigans. She casts a spell, walks up to the monstrosity, and
touch:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
touches it.
DC 21 will or get instantly teleported to the Positive energy plane via Plane Shift.
Yes, standing counted as its action, which means Percy will be provoking an AoO. Seeing as charging lowers your AC, and you'll have to make a concentration check if you're hit, are you sure you want to do that?
*sigh* If you're asking me again, that means I shouldn't. Ok. I'll cast something else instead. Go get 'em, gang!
Percy contemplates rushing the thing and just ending this fight outright, but something tells her that it may end up being painful, so she casts a curse on the muscled mass of the pile of bodies!
will DC 21 or take a -12 str. penalty, min. 1
I think you misunderstood. :-( I have no problem with offensive use of plane shift. I just wanted to make sure you were okay with potentially getting hit, taking damage, and losing your spell before it does anything. Speaking of which, greater bestow curse is also a Range: Touch spell, so....
If a 24 hits you, I need a Concentration DC 25 (plane shift) or Concentration DC 27 (greater bestow curse). I'll also need a Reflex DC 26 to avoid catching fire for the next 1d4rds. Will DC 21:1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28 If your spell goes off, the beastie either doesn't go *poof* or loses 1pt STR.
By the way, if anyone's curious, you're fightingTHISbut on fire
@Percy: That makes a lot more sense. Thanks for clearing things up.
Hila Will DC 23:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22:-(
Just holding on Neverhome's action (can act normally), Sigrun's action (if she wants to do something that doesn't involve moving from her current square), and Silence's action (has anyone heard from him recently?).
will save dc 23 resolute:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 will save dc 23 roll 2 resolute:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
He was silent during the mans prattling, letting his twitching ears and lashing tails do his speaking for him. He did not like this man for some reason something about him seemed... off.
He was as caught by surprise as everyone else when the man cast the spell, and the terrible things he did to the corpses ... Had Vashti been here she would have been furious.
For a moment he felt his body stiffen as something alien tried to sublinate his will... but he resolutely tamped it back down.
"You will be no challenge to my friends as long as we are together!"
He growled out kicking Mule into a charge as he stabbed at the thing with his Naginata.
Sigmund can act normally this round due to that second Save. Mule, however, needs to make a Save to move - which may change Silence's action. Same goes for Abraxas if she's doing anything this round.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 identify?:1d20 ⇒ 5
Abrasax is frozen in place at the sight! What horror! This abomination shall not stand!
spend 2 sp to give everyone's weapons +3 bonus to attack and damage. If I successfully identify this thing's type, I'll use some of that bonus to grant Bane of the appropriate type.
Despite his desire to close with the flaming undead monstrosity Mule, the most Valiant of warhorses was having none of it. With an even more annoyed growl the felinerai slid off the horse with praticed ease and closed with the flaming monster.
Crap! I knew I forgot something. :-( The spoiler said, "That hurt! Why did you do that!" It had INT 5. Group1 is trying to diplomasize it, lol.
The wife is pretty sick and was throwing up all night, so I won't be posting for a little while. Since it looks like you're heading back to town, don't forget to figure out how you're going to explain the "borrowed" horse. ;-)
So, is everyone heading back to town? Are you bringing the tatzylwyrm? I'll update once I know your plan.
On a personal note, my wife's very sick and is reacting badly to the antibiotics. Gaming's taking a backseat until she's better. I'll get online when I can, but posting will be spotty until things settle down IRL. :-(
You can get one from the apothecary, temple, or Old Mother Theodora. They sell for 15gp per charge, to a max of 50 charges (750gp). Generally, you can sell loot at the General Store.
If anyone ever has better plans dont hesistate to speak them up, Kitteh Samurai are very laid back and easy going yes yes. I just figured a wand of make us feel better would be the most useful for everyone, especially since it gives our casters whom werent planning on being healers i would imagine a chance to play their charector how they wanted to. and I know Neverhome that you wanted that wyrm head for a trophy, we will just have to get you another one *nods* preferably a ancient red dragon head *nods nods*
That sounds like a great plan. In fact I was hoping if the Benevolent Dictator would let me retrain a bit so I can use wands but still be a trapfinder. I was thinking retraining my archetype back to standard ranger(for spells) and switch a trait to that new one that lets me DD magic traps.
Thats what i want to see Neverhome 'that one weird guy with the strange hides and cloaks draped about him like some strange troph.... " Now there is an idea, take a craft skill like leatherworking and make a cloak taking a little from each kill till its done.. how awkardly awesome would that be?
Evil Eye (at will)| Cackle (At will)|Misfortune(At will)| Feather Fall (At will, self)| Levitate (Once per day)|Fly(9/9 Minutes)|Stardust 2/2|Ward(At Will))
I aggre with Calvin laid back kitten Samurai, let's sell what we can and I'll wield the wand (Until I get Healing Hex at level 4).
We have to defend ourselves from all these one-shotting bites :P.
In regard to what to keep, did we bring with us the extra weapons from the stash, or only what we wanted(Longsword, armor, crossbow and funky-curve-sword)? If it's necessary, I'll also sell the Desna pendant :(
Have to go now, sorry. I'll do a appraise check on the head later.
Oh no of course i meant what was left from whatever people didnt want. I really think for instance you Zsess should keep a hold of say that crossbow, is Erika wants the 'curved wants to be a katanna but isnt really"longsword go for it. If we cant get a fully charged wand perhaps one that is halfish or so will work, maybe a potion or two, Im mostly worried about level 1. Level 1 can be rough (though honestly one of my favorite things is early game roleplaying. I like being worried about my safety. Lets see what we can get minus what people want and worry about having to sell things like pendants later if we must. yes yes *lawls*
Never thought about a patchwork cloak like that hmm sounds neat :3
My Inquisitor of Smiad I played in a RL game by the time it ended had: a troll skin jacket (never had to worry about tears!), Akata tendrils as some collar fluff, kobold skin gloves and boots (different colors), a hyena skull belonging to a former Lamashtu worshiper, a Blue Dragonscale scarf, a White Dragonscale jacket, the lower jawbone of a frost giant as a necklace, and a Rakshasa skin kilt :3
it literally came up to me as i was typing that out and i too went.. hmm thats actually not a bad idea, just about anything can be turned into leather.. i would avoid humanoids i suppose, though i woudlnt imagine too many people would be up in arms by say a piece of gnoll in there or whatever.
I just wanted to tell all of you, thank you for not finding Samurai kitteh all that strange yes yes, I almost didnt make him, but now i am certainly glad i did he is by far one of my top three charectors ever roleplaying, and heck he just started. All he needs now is to find and fall in love with a viking shield maiden and have the worlds most awesome half breed kids or something equally epic *nods*
It like just re-registered in my brain that you said group one was trying to diplomasize it.... I retort we did diplomasize with it, just you know diplomacy by blade is all, He/she said "that hurt" and we told it, "hey no worries look, you will never be in pain again now." or something like that.
Evil Eye (at will)| Cackle (At will)|Misfortune(At will)| Feather Fall (At will, self)| Levitate (Once per day)|Fly(9/9 Minutes)|Stardust 2/2|Ward(At Will))

You'll break Erika's heart. :(
By the way, I'm doing some calculation about how much we could ask for the weaponry, head and chest. I'll roleplay that in character in the gameplay thread after I posted here what I think their approximate value is.
Are we sure we don't want to keep the masterwork chainshirt and dagger?
Edit: Here is what I've come up with:
Leather armor x5= 50G
Studded Leather armorx3= 75G
Light Wooden Shieldx2=6G
Longswordx6=90G
Light Crossbowx2=70G
Tatzlwyrm head= ???
Then, I went to check the chest price just to know if I could say, before DM Your Benevolent Dictator told us how much it was worth, "It's not worth much" or "This could fetch a couple of coins..."and I found...
Cost To determine the price of a darkwood item, use the original weight but add 10 gp per pound to the price of a masterwork version of that item.
So, the chest was made from Darkwood, it was 2 feet long, 3 feet large and 2-3 feet deep. That should be 12 cubic feet, no?
I checked the weight for a Huge Chest: 250 lbs!
Those should be 2500G... I mean, the vendor won't buy at full price, and the chest has been in the snow for some time, but those are still a lot of money for first level, no? Have I missed something important?
maybe he meant its a 'dark' wood chest as in color. if something strikes your fancy as a need we can keep it, I wont lie, If its not samurai flavoured Silence wont want it, I mean sure eventually i'll have to bite the bullet on armour at least. I m sure Neverhome would prefer to change the chain shirt out for the breastplate, so he has pretty good ac and his bonus to movement still but i see a wand of cure light out of all that which is prolly the goal.
And as to miss Erika, she could still become a viking shield maiden, heck or even a future samurai herself or something i make no promises as to Silence's future. I mean is Silence even a boy? *Lawls*
Oh and as an addenendum, if we have leftover gold from the possible wand purchase we should look into in no particular order, tents, cold weather outfits, extra blankets, maybe another packmule etc... I mean i dont know how much outdoors cold weather will be involved.. but it is the reign of winter campaign... I dont think it would be a bad thing to be overly prepared.
This one concurs *nods nods* Erika is Erika and is friend. *nods* If you want that curved wants to be a katanna sword go for it. Heck Silence will even 'show' you how to use it and all that good stuff. at least show you how to use it in a rp way that by no means denotes any actual skill with it, but you prolly knew that laready anywho!
@Hobbes: I tend to give PCs a free rebuild early on in the adventure once they've had some time assessing their character. If you want to do that now, that's completely fine. Swap out archetypes/traits/whatever; just let me know what changes. :-)
@Zsestrian: your prices are good, but here's what the town will pay.
Maybe for sell
Masterwork Chainshirt= 125gp
Masterwork Dagger= 151gp
The Desnan Holy Symbol is a bit special. Yes, you can get 25gp for it, but as it is the only tangible remnant of a holy man, there may be repercussions down the road if you treat it as simply a means of easy cash. *evil GM grin*
Tatzylwyrm Head - because it's only found in Irrisen, you might be able to get a couple hundred gp for it - if it's taxidermized properly and you can find an interested collector.
Chest - Damn! I hadn't anticipated y'all trying to sell it, so I just made up some random info. Zsestrian's calculations are spot-on. However, due to the significant amount of environmental damage, you'll probably only be able to get around 750gp for it.
One last thing: Heldren's a small town with a purchase limit of 2500gp, so you'll want to be careful not to bankrupt the treasury as that'll affect future interactions. ;-)
Id say lets just sell the mundane and the chest, lets keep a hold of that cold iron longsword, may come in useful. the chest in itself should pay for the wand so we actually came out ahead.. yay team us. Of course... im not there to say all that now that i think about it, oh wells no worries sell sell sell the loot!
Thanks a bunch YDB! I'll post the changes in a few hours after I have my late dinner. And I'd be happy to hold onto the wand so the witch can do witchy stuff.
Alright pretty much done. Lowered cha a bit to int for more skills. Traded Fast Talker for Trap Finder. Not trained in bluff anymore(but I'll get it back someday), but trained in handle animal and stealth now. And I can use wands/will get spellcasting.
Unless your character was employed as a tanner at some point, I'd prefer Craft(leatherworking).
@Hobbes: double-check your skill modifiers. Bluff looks a little off, for example. Also, which skills do you have ranks in, and what's the situational Disable Device modifier?
Bluff is +1 from charisma and +2 from the shiftless racial trait. The situational modifier is for when I don't have my armor/shield so it doesn't include my ACP.
Yes, you've definitely surpassed my expectations. Here I was thinking you'd be the tame group that would help me relax after dealing with insane Gnome sisters. Instead, you're stealing horses, selling background scenery chests, and planning to taxidermy a tatzylwyrm - and we're only two encounters into the AP! So. Much. Awesome. :-)
Yeah, for some reason I thought that a CE Gnome pyromaniac and her Primal Magic sister would be crazier. Of course, besides you, there's a Samurai Cat, Halfling Batman, the unluckiest Witch in the world, a depressed Barbarian, and "Legs". :-)
It's almost 2am here and I have work in the morning, so I'm off to bed. Have fun storming the castle!
