"This should be interesting." Sigrun says leading the way.


Gingerbread and candy form the walls of this chamber. It features furniture of stick candy, a large ribbon candy cabinet, curtains of licorice, and a cupcake table, all illuminated by distorted amber light streaming in from windows of glazed sugar brittle. Outside, you see a bright sunny morning in a flower-strewn field. As in the previous room, there's an oversized fireplace in one wall, and a ladder (made of licorice) leading to a trapdoor above you. The candy cabinet also appears to open and seems large enough to fit everyone.

You know that scene from the Johnny Depp Willy Wonka movie? Everything in this room is edible. Speaking of which....

He would question Percy's health as well... were he not making the most horrible noise and racket gagging and wretching once the grossness of the place was revealed. It was like a hairball... but worse.


Inside the candy cabinet, you find a dark, 5ft square tunnel lined with burned and broken children's skulls. At the other side, you emerge from a large hearth. Here, bright sunlight filtered by a forest canopy streams into this derelict cottage room from a single large window. Trees jut up from the dirt floor, bursting through the thatch ceiling above, and dead leaves cover a rusted iron stove and an old straw mattress. To the east, you see a rotten doorframe overgrown with thick vines that block passage to the forest beyond. Outside the window, you see a trio of fey (including a gathlain) staring worriedly at a large spidery figure creeping toward the cottage from deep within the forest.

Knowledge(planes) DC 22:
The insectile creature is a derghodaemon - disturbing hunters that can summon and control spiders. Like most daemons, they're immune to acid and resistant to most other types of damage.

Meta: the window is actually a mirror of life trapping. Fortunately for you, all four of its compartments are currently full. Unfortunately, breaking the mirror will free ALL of its occupants.

Gritting his teeth while surrounded by the skulls of children, and being reminded of a certain temple, Neverhome was already on edge when he emerged into the other room. Seeing the spider monster heading for the fey he immediately moves up to smash the window with his sword to go outside to help them.

The skulls of children had Sigrun on the verge of rage already. As Lyosha moves to smash the window, she draws her hammer, ready to smash the daemon.


The window shatters, releasing a trio of fey ... and a Large spider daemon.

@Percy: For a brief moment, you're in the First World, staring at Imbrex' behemoth forms. Then you're lying in a forest, covered in spiders. Nearby, you see a trio of fey. Each of them has a splintered eye, just like you. You're conscious again.

With a carapace suddenly turned to marshmallow, the daemon is significantly easier to hurt. It takes multiple heavy hits before Neverhome lops its head off.
