Are you two feeling better yes yes? The feline Samurai began smiling toothily at the cleric whom healed them his tail lightly twitching in thanks and appreciation. I meant to ask the councilwoman about the carraige's fallen, but we discovered the missing Desnan preist yes yes, some foul being killed them and brought them back as zombies. We could point you in the right direction so you could recover them and give them their final rights yes yes? He said to the cleric hoping the others would manage to catch up soon. He didnt want to ...look for healing wands without having enough payment up front. it just seemed bad form.

"Thank you very much" he will say to the priest. "And thank you very much, too, Silence, Lyosha. I feel perfect now, ready to be eaten by another zombie!" said Zses while laughing. At the mention of the dead priest, he will turn serious "Yes, I wanted to ask you that, too. Being turned into undeads has been enough for them, poor people. May Desna bless them." he will move to hold onto the Desnian holy symbol, only to remember that he gave it to Hobbes in case money was needed.
I hope we didn't have to sell it...

You taught me before how to use this thing, but I'm worried if I'll be able to use it in a real battle..." he will pause for a moment, and then grin "Let's just hope that whatever will attack us is going to be as easy to hit as the targets this morning."

Also, never thought that I would be ever petted by a cat. It's usually the other way around

I'm okay if we rest. I just have to switch Mage armor with Ill Omen, but Blik is short on spell and I think it's not a very good idea to walk in the middle of the night with the risk of another blizzard

The large felines ears kinda twitched for a moment as he stared blankly at Lyosha. "I sent them to see about selling that stuff we found yes yes. So we can maybe get one of those wands with healing energy. I dont recall specifying where to go, so i would say they are at one of the shops?" He frowned mostly at himself for a moment, he should have been abit more specific, but he didnt really know this town all that well. Just what he had seen during the festival that was barely remembered with all his rage at the fate of the flutterbyes.
"They shouldnt be hard to find, let's go." He said taking the lead offering a little bow to the preistess whom healed his new friends. He exited into the chilled air and gave and little wiggle heading for the nearest possible selling point, and looking for his mule outside a place.

Assuming they would use the pack animal for pack animal purposes. If not not a big deal *lawls*

"They said that they were going to the general store, on the opposite side of the plaza from here. Maybe we should wait for them: They've probably just finished selling and coming back" he said, and then started to slowly pace back and forth, an hint of nervousness in his movements.

Oh, I hope that we didn't have to sell the pendant. It was important, for me...
He will look at his peculiar, colorful scarf and ponder aloud, even if he was talking mostly to himself. "Why these thing are so important? I can understand the scarf, It's the only hint I have to find who I was, but why that pendant? I only found it some hours ago, and maybe it's similar to...
The one that Mother wore? I'm starting to think that what I saw in my nightmare, in the moment of the blizzard and while I was dying a couple of hours ago may be [i]memories instead of visions
Zses, now shaking, thought about what he saw: a huge mock of butterfly, flapping it's wing in the dusk sky, swoop down and...
As if forcing his own head to shut up, Zses stopped and started staring into nothingness.

On the other side of the Plaza, Crow suddenly felt a rush of impatience, followed by uneasiness, and for a moment, pure, stark, terror.
The raven, talking now in it's croaking normal voice said to Blik "We done? Back to the temple, Zses acts strange." he will fly onto Erika shoulder "Mister Hobbes, Miss Legs, We go? Please?"

Trying to differentiate better Crow Creepy from Crow Normal. I'll need some practice, but the latter should talk in shorter and simpler sentences, acting like a normal INT 6 familiar.

"Yea, we're done." Hobbes can help but grin at the crow's adoption of nicknames.

Everyone meets back up at the Temple and procures a wand of CLW. Then you head back into the Border Wood - a small group of priests in tow. Upon reaching the site of the carriage massacre/zombie battle, the clergy stop and begin funeral rites. They seem to have things well in hand, so you continue deeper into the forest. You pass the place where you found the trapped chest, then reach the tatzylwyrm's headless corpse.

Do what you like at any of the mentioned places; I'm just fast-forwarding time a bit. :-) By the way, I need everyone (and the mounts) to give me Fort Save DC 15 against the cold weather. You can make Survival checks to give a bonus as per the environmental rules. A failed save means you take 1d6 nonlethal cold damage and gain the 'fatigued' condition.

Apologies about the delay, by the way: going through some RL issues.

Back at the temple, Zsestrian made jumps of joy when he saw that the holy symbol wasn't sold "Oh, thanks thanks thanks! I'm so glad we didn't have to sell this!". Seconds after, the holy symbol was again around his neck. "Aaah, I feel much more calm now. Let's get a good night sleep and get ready for tomorrow!" he said enthusiastically.

That night, strangely enough, he didn't have the nightmare that haunted him since he can remember (That is, about a year ago).
He only dreamed about one single, beautiful, Swallowtail.

When they got near the corpses of the Desnian priests, Crow flew off Zsestrian shoulder and started to croak and shout at the eventual animals gathered around the corpses. "Away!Away!Go!Go!"he kept repeating to scare them away. After he concluded his job, he sat satisfied again on Zses shoulder. "Wow, Crow, this is the first time you threw up such a fuss at other animals. Why did you do that? I mean, you never ate carrion or stuff like that, you don't even eat meat usually, so what was the point?"
The raven stared at Zsestrian, and didn't answer. When they were leaving the place of the massacre, Crow tilted his head back and kept staring at it until it vanished in the white of the snow.

"Much more warm with this clothes on" Zses gave a little smile and sank his head into his scarf.

It was a bit cold. He was glad for the cold weather gear that much was certain. He was also quiet, his tail barely moved as they lead the preists to the site of the ambush. It seemed a time for somberness. The further up the trail however, the more alert and personable the feline samurai seemed to get. He did pause as he led the way at the sight of the tatzylwyrm glancing over to Lyosha just recalling that creatures sudden strike and bite on the man. "Fur coat on a fur coat, Im not sure my father would approve yes yes." He said loud enough to be heard by all letting his whiskers twitch in amusement. He didnt want friend Neverhome to think too hard about being bitten the day before.

friend erika dont forget the +5 to fort saves vs cold the cold clothes give you, with your survival you could also give a +2 to five creatures on said save you and friend Lyosha should be good for no damage if my math is correct. Am i right YBD?
Also just curious cause in all honesty i know nothing of horses, would the winter blankets Silence owns be able to be layed under the saddles of the animals to help with thier fort saves? if not cool if so, whats apropriate?

Erika and 5 other people/animals get a +2 bonus on their Fort Saves. Survival is a good skill to have. :-) I'll give the horses a +2 bonus for the winter blankets. It won't stack with cold-weather gear, so no double-dipping. ;-)

Blik will try to help the others stay warm.
Survival: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
But most of his advice involves hanging upside down in warm caves.

Fortitude: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28

Blik seems to be a natural in the forest, his light frame dashing easily over the snow. He doesn't seem bothered much by the cold, though even his small sized cold-weather gear seems too big for him, and he seems grateful for the extra room, fidgeting with it's clasps and folds like a little kid while he walks.

"I don't know why my colony doesn't come up here more often, it's so pretty with all this snow! And this coat is so warm!"

Knowing there was a good deal of foot traffic around the trapped chest area, Blik will try to determine if anyone visited it after they took the chest, before they move on.

Survival: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

Zses will listen carefully to what Blik is saying, but has some difficulty to put that to good use "I don't really get the hanging upside down thing..." Zses will then snap his fingers in a burst of epiphany "Of course! If you do that, the blood runs to the head and you feel warmer! I mean, that will make the rest of the body even more cold and numb, or something like that, but it's something!"
"Also warm caves are a good idea. I remember this time, couple of months ago, that I..." Zses will continue his story full of warm caves, bears, bears mistaken for pillows and thrown beehives.
"...and people says bears like honey. Bet that mountain of fur doesn't agree!" he will burst out laughing.
"Fear me! Zsestrian Raven:Controller of bees!" Just setting up jokes for when I'll actually get Vomit swarm ;)

You trudge deeper into the forest as the temperature continues to drop. After about 20 minutes, you begin to notice strange bundles of fur, fetishes, and other grotesque trophies hanging from the lower branches of the surrounding trees. All are stuck through with small pins holding pieces of leather bound around them.

Enemy Average Initiative: 9

Your Turns

Silence/Mule/Blik/Hobbes:
You see three tiny blue flying creatures duck behind various trees.

Erika/Neverhome/Crow:
You see a tiny blue flying creature duck behind a tree. (Red Enemy)

Knowledge(nature) DC 15:
They're definitely sprites, but they have an odd wintery tint to their skin. They're definitely not local fey. (you also know that fey creatures are vulnerable to cold iron)

Knowledge(nature) DC 21:
Sprites possess a few minor spell-like abilities and are able to emit a spray of colors that temporarily stuns enemies.

Map link is under my profile. Sorry, Zsestrian, no Knowledge checks for you at this point (although Crow can try any skill you have ranks in). You barely missed the Perception DC.

would they be within charging atop horseback using a reach weapon range to melee hit or would they be a bow target? I will post both actions, take the apropriate one. Not sure how tall one could consider a horse and someone mounted on it is all.

fortsave: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Silence growls and hisses in annoyance lifting his Naginata and kicking Mule forward into a charge at the closest flying blue thing.
naginata charge: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

OR
Silence growls and hisses in annoyance, drawing out his bow and readying an arrow taking aim at the closest flying blue thing.

Blik will happily chat with Zsestrian, joking about bees and the proper way to eat them without being stung, when the attacks will come from the trees.

Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

With the fey so high and protected by the trees, Blik decides to turn their advantage against them by invoking the power of nature. Whispering a few words and reaching his hand into the snow to grasp the earth Blik will cast Entangle.

"Earth and Roots,
Grow and Shoot,
Twist and Bind,
These foes of mine.

DC 14 Reflex save for the Sprites

Entangle:

ENTANGLE
School transmutation; Level druid 1, ranger 1
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, DF
Range long (400 ft. + 40 ft./level)
Area plants in a 40-ft.-radius spread
Duration 1 min./level (D)
Saving Throw: Reflex partial; see text; Spell Resistance: no
This spell causes tall grass, weeds, and other plants to wrap around creatures in the area of effect or those that enter the area. Creatures that fail their save gain the entangled condition. Creatures that make their save can move as normal, but those that remain in the area must save again at the end of your turn. Creatures that move into the area must save immediately. Those that fail must end their movement and gain the entangled condition. Entangled creatures can attempt to break free as a move action, making a Strength or Escape Artist check. The DC for this check is equal to the DC of the spell. The entire area of effect is considered difficult terrain while the effect lasts.

Blik will center the effect so only the line with the two fey at the bottom and below are effected. Line "F" and below. As a move action Blik will ready his sling.

"Sprites! Uh, maybe we should just pass by, they have the advantage..."

GM Rolls:
Blue: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Red: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Blue: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Red: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

The sprites begin to laugh at Neverhome's posturing. Then they see his sword and recognize the glint of cold iron. The laughter swiftly fades and becomes nervous chuckles. (demoralized for 2 rounds)

Silence's arrow misses. (the snow creates difficult terrain, and the trees are extremely difficult terrain, so charging isn't even an option unless you have a way to bypass that)

Suddenly, the trees reach out their branches and form a cage - trapping Red and Blue Baddies. They both manage to remain airborne, but only barely. (I very much appreciate your including the spell's full text in your posts. :-) Just make sure to give me the DC as well.)

"Zses, watch out!" croaked Crow before taking flight off Zsestrian shoulder, circling high around the party.
Zses could only see the creatures with the tail of his eyes, before a dart hit him with barely no effects. He will stare* back in anger at the trees in which Fairie green is, as the witch's shadow start to slightly flicker and shift.
* Evil Eye, -2 to attack rolls DC 14
"How dare you attack Hobbes! Get out here and fight fairly! And anyway, what were those things you threw us? Toothpicks? I barely got a scratch!" he will let out a pompous laugh*,more to boost his own morale than to dampen that of his enemies.

Can I still use the surprise round? If not disregard this attack

Erika sees the fleeting sprites darting around and tries to take a shot at one.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

GM Rolls:
Green Will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Red Escape Artist: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
Blue Escape Artist: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28
Green Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Green Sprite laughs at Zsestrian's glare, but the ensuing mockery seems to be getting to him. (made the save, but he's still affected for 1rd - which Cackle will extend. I'd forgotten how nasty Evil Eye is) He angrily retaliates with another tiny arrow, but Neverhome's giant sword is distracting, and he misses.

Erika's hastily-fired arrow hits a bullseye-shaped knot in one of the trees. (unfortunately, due to the Initiative order, you weren't aware of the incoming attack during the surprise round. I mainly added that blurb as a reminder for future encounters, as you're the only PC with the power to act in surprise rounds)

Red Sprite flails around feebly within his branch prison. Escape DC is 14. He has a +15 mod. Proceeds to roll a 1. :-( Normally you can't autofail skill checks, but this is essentially a CMB roll, so yeah.

Blue Sprite easily flies through a gap in the branches. Like its brother, it's not at all happy at being trapped and proceeds to unleash a multicolored spray at Blik - and his friends. (Blik/Neverhome/Erika/Hobbes: give me a Will Save DC 12. Failure means you're unconscious for 2d4 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6 rounds.)

is mister color spray low enough to melee? adding two actions, 1st priority, 2nd if 1st not possible.
Silence kicks Mule forward drawing his Katana out with the one hand and slashing at the foolish little sprite whom flew low enough to get into range. He will also direct Mule to bite the nasty blue pest.
katana: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7crit damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Mule
Angry Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Or
Silence frowns angrily as his arrow flies just wide of the target. He doesnt take well to missing things, though it was honestly why he spent more practice with the sword. "Honored Spirits Guide me."
He muttered as he drew another arrow and took aim at the red Sprite and loosed an arrow.
bow attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Note if the arrow attack is used Silence wont be directing Mule forward. they would have stayed in place.

Hobbes' arrow narrowly misses Red Sprite.

Blue Sprite suffers nasty injuries from Silence and Mule but remains upright. Strangely, both attacks seem to do less damage than expected. (plus, he has class levels)

Ugh, Color Spray...

Having completed his important task of drawing out most of the malicious fey, Blik will allow himself to succumb to their magics, feeling content.

Or angry, either one.
