Unfortunatly you are not able to identify the humanoids, but you think the threelegged thing could be a repair bot.

Looking at the pictures, "Well, that three legged thing is not too dissimilar to designs for a repair bot I saw in my parents research books. Beyond that, not sure about the rest." Looking around some more, "we might want to move along, especially since we are on a time table."
Kunala asks do we want to search any of the boxes for clues or do we continue on? Kunala moves to one of the crates and attempts to open it using the anytool as a crowbar.
I assume its a strength check to open a box, Is the bonus using the crowbar + 2 ?

@Kunala all the boxes are empty or filled with worthless scrap.
@Raffinyaler you are absolutly sure that you can not identify the humanoids. For one they have 6 limbs. And the other they look quite gaunt.

Seeing nothing else worth looking at in the cave Elasbeth looks at the two exits, "Well, which one should we choose nest, the left one or the right one? I'm not sure which will lead us in the right direction."
Kunala places his right palm under his chin and his left palm under his right elbow, giving the appearance to be deep in thought, then says in his accented lisp. I once heard about a great barbarian dressed in white from the far north, who always went right. He lived to tell of many adventures. smiling he says shall we follow suit? and with that Kunala goes to the tunnel exiting to the south west and looks down its length.
he will take twenty (19) on perception for the tunnel leaving A5 going to the left {south west)
Male Human Slayer 1 HP 11 l AC 18/Touch 14/FF 14 l F+3/R+6/W+2 l Init +4 l Perception +6
Kimos waits with his bow, the dandy was rushing again. You would think getting your rear end nearly bitten in two not much more then an hour ago, as well as having an attractive woman heal it for you would damage that ego. Perhaps it was a Chelish thing.
The tunnel seems fine. It won´t collapse anytime soon. Do you investigate.
And thats for all! And for the future do you scout alone, or do you walk together.
yea, some ego's are unflappable, at least he just looked down the hall instead of prancing down it willy nilly :)
Kunala turns and says Kimos, this tunnel seems fine, well at least it probably wont collapse anytime soon, do you want to proceed? I am your dutiful shadow!
Kunala waits for Kimos or Tamoq to lead out
Kunala will stay with the group, he was just being curious and looking down the hall. I would prefer we stay together, strength in numbers and all that; but obviously will not try to dictate to other players.
Female Half-Elf Arcanist (White Mage) 4 | HP 20/20 (0nl) | AC 12 (16), tac 12, ff 10 (14) | Fort +2, Ref +3, Will +3 | Init +2 | Per +2 | Technologist | Arcane Reservoir 1/6
I pretty much stay with the main group and will generally stay back to about 3rd or 4th in line. And sadly Kimos, he might ever well enjoy the attractive woman healing him, might be the only way he gets the attention. ;-p
Male ratfolk Hunter 1 | hp 9/9 | AC 19, Touch 15, FF 15 | Fort +4, Ref +7, Will +2 | Init +4 | Perception +9
Tamoq will follow Kimos's lead when it comes to exploring new areas... he'd rather see one of the humans get crushed by a trap than this best friend Korba. :-P
Tamoq looks to Kimos to lead. "Kunala obviously has a deathwish, but I do not. I will 'watch your back' as it is said, sir."
4 from 5 seems happy to follow... lets proceed.
The temperature drops noticeably in this passageway, and arime of white frost lines the walls and floor leading into thecavern beyond. What seems to be a light layer of brown dustcarpets the cave floor beyond—a body of some sort sits slumped against the eastern wall.
You can see no imminent danger at the moment!
Female Half-Elf Arcanist (White Mage) 4 | HP 20/20 (0nl) | AC 12 (16), tac 12, ff 10 (14) | Fort +2, Ref +3, Will +3 | Init +2 | Per +2 | Technologist | Arcane Reservoir 1/6
I'll be staying just outside the room in the passageway until I'm sure no this is going to try and eat us.
Elasbeth looks into the cavern eying whatever she can see from the entrance, looking for a threat before she will step into the area with her compatriots.

Male Human Slayer 1 HP 11 l AC 18/Touch 14/FF 14 l F+3/R+6/W+2 l Init +4 l Perception +6
Kimos knew when things did not seem right, he was after all a hunter. He had stayed in that position long enough to develop a sense for danger not readily apparent. He holds up his hand to draw attention and backs away towards the entrance of the cave.
"Something is wrong here. I would advise very strong caution. If no one minds I will be back here as well."
Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Not tempting the dice so taking 20 on perception.
Kunala, pouting a little as he addresses Tamoq sir, I have no death wish, but neither do I wish to die of boredom. There are grander things having money to spend and influential friends and these cave are our path to them. when Kunala feels the cold and sees the brown dust carpet then the body he tries to remember if there should be a correlation.

Not seeing any threat but noticing Kimos backing towards her, Elasbeth Becks a bit further into the passage to he can move in front of her. "Death wish or no I dont like this place, and I agree with Kimos that we should be very careful in this room." Looking at the body curiously, "I admit I am curious what milled this person and if you think it is safe enough I would like to examine the body."
Heal check if they determine it's safe enough.: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
You all think it is safe. It is quite cold, for sure, but you heard stranger things from the numerian pools. As you come closer you see the body is blue from cold, but not frozen.
You will need a heal check to see how the body died.
Know local to identify the person.
What lightsource do you use?

See heal check in my previous post for this eventuality.
@Elasbeth you would note strange ribbons and filaments of rust-colored fibers growing along his spine, throat, and chest. You recognizes the infestation as russet mold. As soon as you say this Kimos identifys Russet mold as a very dangerous infestitation. But he would say the spores are inert from the cold.

"Well, this is not good. He died from a russet mold infestation and the only thing protecting us is the temperature in here." Elasbeth looks very worried about the situation and moves back away from the body to a place with no sign of the spores. She then casts prestidigitation to try and clean her clothing of any residual spores she might have on her clothing.
With the results of my check do I think we are in any danger of becoming infested ourselves when we leave this room and, if so, if there are any precautions we can take to prevent it?

I'm going to assume that it's not Baine. Raffinyaler is not carrying a light source, he's relying on the beetle glands carried by Elasbeth and Kunala and his low-light vision.
"I'm going to agree with Kimos. Finding another way forward might be the most expedient way of getting to Khonnir. There was another passage back by the scrap, perhaps we can go that way?"
Raffinyaler turns and begins heading back up the passage towards the scrap.
Suddenly the beetle glands go out and you see the mold grow.

Elasbeth, feeling the bite of the cold, realizes she needs to get out of this room. She grabs the unconscious Raff, and tries to pull him to safety while she moves towards the party.
I was waiting for a little more information before I posted, it looked like we were all in the room during the round,
@ Helikon if that's not the case please let us know
@ Tamoq, are you and Korba unconscious, also?
@ Elasbeth, good job grabbing Raff
@ Kimos, if your in here with us can you grap Tamoq and Korba (assuming they are unconscious)on your way out?
Male ratfolk Hunter 1 | hp 9/9 | AC 19, Touch 15, FF 15 | Fort +4, Ref +7, Will +2 | Init +4 | Perception +9
Yes, unfortunately that amount of subdual makes both of us unconscious. Ouch.
@Kimos you were outside, but the sudden growth did hit you too, but you saved for half anyway.
@Raffinyaler the problem is that the glands also emitt a light in the infrared that interacts badly with the mold, helping it grow. It is still only subdual damage, not possible to kill you.
edit, keeping my fingers crossed

While the sudden cold numbed him he did not fall as some of the others. He dragged two that did out, sadly that left one. He had no intention of going back in himself. Removing some rope he had and a grappling hook he attaches it and starts tossing it to hook on to the last member. Once he gets a firm hold he slowly reels them in.
See picking good equipment does come in handy. ;)
yes, thank you for using the grappling hook, instead of tying the rope to an arrow... I hate to ask this, but are we still in the part of the cave that is strangely illuminated? If not, earlier, while still in the tavern, speaking to Kimos

Kimos has light sources, just does not use them during scouting sense it gives him away. That's why he does not stray to far from the group too so he does not lose all light. If there are no other light sources around that is. :)
I was nervous about torches, but if infrared affects the moss (or whatever it is) then it really doesn't matter as long as we don't get to close, I was just hoping we still had the "strange illumination"

Hey folks, I'm in the afore mentioned party. It seems our Arcanist who had the technologist feat, wander off and we haven't been able to find him.
first of all, good luck to everyone.
second of all, we could really use someone with the technologist feat.

Wow, that is a really bad set of rolls. Would be interesting to see someone try to use it though.
Got a character sheet, description, and back story added to this alias. I think I caught all of the discrepancies from the previous build but if not I will fix them. It does use an alternate racial trait, if that is not allowed and I am accepted I can always change it.
*Edit
Backstory may be a bit rough still, but I can refine it better if I need to.
Do not forget you do not have to use the rolls... you can always use 20 point buy
Elasbeth join the gameplay thread.
Hello there I am from another game and heard you guys might need a person let me see if I can whip something up, going through the motions right now on account of life but I'm trying to see how the current party is.
Negotiations are going well we shall see soon.
Alright it has been Decided that I will play either a Bloodrager, Brawler, Slayer or Ranger. Let me get the stuff ready like alias and whatever and then I will starts.. still deciding on my special thing.
I will gladly take any input by the current group by what they would prefer/ want.
I would go Bloodrager. Very VERY powerful at low levels compared to most other builds.
I have a talent with making characters in general.. most what I would create will fill that area quite easily.. and not be a fullcaster to boot. But I can see doing that yes. So one for Bloodrager.
I'm fine with whatever, long as we have the needed skills covered. Very curious to see a bloodrager, brawler, or slayer played though.
Hrm did the previous guy has skills that werent covered? Also for the classes they have pretty standard play styles.. Bloodrager.. rages.. and smacks things.. and casts spells. Brawler uses versatility or strength to beat things down, Slayer is a bit like Ranger and takes out certain targets well. They are all capable Martials.
So 1 for Bloodrager, One for whatever.
Raffinyaler can cover thieving skills, Tamoq can cover tracking skills, most Knowledge skills are covered by at least one person, My hope is that you would play melee, so bloodrager is great.
So Im hearing alot of face-beatage? I think there might be a few skills you dont have and Kunala.. as you have said, you probably shouldn't fully be the face (IE decision maker) so something along those levels.. I could go smash then. Alright then, I just need to know.. what I start with wealth wise..
your right, of course, I don't think any one has: Planes, History, Geography, Nobility or Religion. But Face-beatage, I like that, I.ve never heard that before. Starting wealth was 150 then you also get a boon. I also think you should as Helikon for a Masterwork weapon to start with so you are not behind the team.
3d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4) = 6
3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1) = 6

3d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 2) = 12
3d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 1) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2) = 12
I'll be going with the 20 PB and a Spellslinger Wizard...
did we loose a wizard and no one tell us?
I just can tell you that bloodrager is good at giving damage but lousy at receiving. We just noticed that last night in PFS. The lousy hitpoints hurt, as do the late DR compared to the Invul rager.
I can argue againt that easily actually because they can cast spells, which some reduce even getting hit and there is an archetype thats amazing at taking damage.. which Im likely to use.
Thanks Kunala, it is a term I often use. I might try to squeeze Planes and History in there. Or Planes and Religion. Also that guy before most likely posted a caster because I opened up the old recruitment thread.. which needed an arcane.
@Amal. I guess you mean the Steelrager. I am not sure if heavy armor is worth loosing the dodge and damagereduction. But it is your call. And you can cast a few spells at level 4. I am curious how it will work out.
You start with 150gp and a MW weapon.
Hah no.. Spelleater. Thanks for the info lets get started on an Alias. Also DR isnt that great unless you invest in it or use alot of small attacks against it.. and after a while things like Archers stop caring. Something like Stalwart, Improved Stalwart, Crane Style works well however. Also Im not going to wast time on the roll method It mathematically cant even hit a 20 pb because the avg is too low.. your more likely to get a bunch of low rolls AND it ONLY benefits a class that needs one good stat.. which you can make with PB anyway. if it was 4d6 drop lowest that would be closer to a 15pb at least.
You did not read correctly. You can roll and if you do not like it still use 20pb
Oh no I read correctly Im just mathematically sure it would be terrible unless you roll monk stats, so Im sorta skipping it.. and even then this character requires a good Str, Con and okay Cha and Dex and rather not be Dumb or unwise... If this were a Fighter or Wizard sure. I could roll to make you feel better though.
Its your decision. Many misunderstood before. And lady luck can be in your favor.
Alright Im going to repurpose this Alias for your game Big ol' honkin weapon. I am sorry it took so long, work was terrible.

Hey, above average, nice!
The sarcasm in that is palpable. That was 4pb, there are commoners with better stats.. OLD ONEs.. but hey its 3d6.. so Im not surprised. could have been all 10's
Could have my luck and prove statistical improbabilities happen. I once rolled 32 consecutive rolls of under 11 on a 20 sided dice in a minis game. I failed every missile save the first round of play and was completely wiped out before round 2 began. Not a good day.
Well, let me see what my luck looks like today.

Ouch... not too great it seems... a -2 and a -1 to two scores to only gain two +1 scores, and all of this prior to racials... think I will opt for 20 point buy instead. Probably cashing in my boon for a non-core race (still thinking about that, reading over the game thread to determine exactly what flavor of skill maniac will fit best) but if I don't I will think about what I would like instead.
Engine for creation is fired up and whirling, let me see what I can come up with.
OK, looking at making a catfolk bard (archeologist, as she will call herself) who is heading there to study ruins and learn what she can of the tech of the ancients. Still working on all the details, but should have something more concrete soon.
OK, still working on backstory, equipment... (looks at checklist) oh yeah, alignment, deity... and spells... but here is my rough initial submission. I know you will let me know if I messed up on something. Hope to have a full idea of backstory soon... and then gear. I actually almost forgot about the archetype... glad I didn't, I think it fits her better than having bardic performance as such. (Was going to make her play a violin like a gypsy, but it just didn't really fit.)
OK, just working on the backstory...
And.... partially done :)
I intend to add to this as we go, but for now here is her rough backstory.
What can I say, added a bit more... :) got inspired by watching Tron Legacy again... ;)
We are looking for a divine class for Iron Gods.

EDIT: Oof. 10 point buy would be rough, so I think I'd go with the 20 point buy to not tie down the party. How about this.
Dolv Hovel, Human Warpriest of Brigh. Dolv grew up in Torch, the son of a smith and a cleaning woman. For the past five years, he's been applying himself to study and weapon crafting in the temple of Brigh, focusing what he has learned from his father and from the clergy of the temple. Naturally quick of hand and eye, Dolv applied his martial training to the use of the crossbow and how to hit a target in the midst of much tumult. Dolv feels the presence of Brigh on the periphery of his thoughts, guiding his hands when he is assembling a new weapon or practicing with it in the yard.
Would you permit weapons that he owns to be things that he has crafted? Or are you less interested in item crafting in your game? Thanks!
Of course do I accept the crafting.
