Kunala |
While the others concern themselves with the body, he stays ready with his bow. Scanning their surroundings in case of ambush or attack. As well as anything else of note.
[dice=Perception]1d20+6
also Kunala had checked the body for possessions did he find anything?
Kunala, finishing with searching the body, rearming his trident and shield; he replies to Elasbeth in his accented lisp
That, young lady sounds like a brilliant idea
Kunala, acting as a meat shield, will move through the narrow cave into the next area, looking around as best he can.
again taking 20 (or 19 as it were) for perception

Helikon |

A dark cavern opens up here, its twenty-foot-high ceiling thick with stalactites. A rocky shore overlooks a placid pool and stream, fed by a trickle of water leaking from a narrow fissure to the north. A small garden of toadstools and dark mold grows along the banks.
Suddenly you are blinded by the light.
Kunala and Elsbeth are blinded.
Roll for iniative!

Kunala |
Kunala drops into a position for total defense and yells back
I've been blinded by the light has everyone been affected? Can anyone still see? be careful!
Kunala will stay in the narrow cave tunnel I did call him a meat shield hopefully blocking anything from getting past him until the party sorts out what is happening.
iniative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Tamoq Swarmcaller |

Tamoq shields his eyes from the glare of whatever blinded the others, and tries to peer through his fingers to see what is ahead of them.
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Korba also tries to see what's ahead.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Tamoq Swarmcaller |

Tamoq and Korba move forward through the tunnel, Tamoq still shielding his eyes as best he can for fear of being blinded himself.

Tamoq Swarmcaller |

Fort: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 = 10
Korba Fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
GAH! TERRIBLE!

Elasbeth Evergreen |

Well that's not good.
init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
*edit
Wasn't in a place I could post easily before.
Elasbeth quits moving as soon as she goes blind and speaks with a tremor of fear in her voice, "W-w-w-what just happened, I can't see!"

Raffinyaler |

Fort vs Blindness (+ Inspiration): 1d20 + 0 + 1d6 ⇒ (12) + 0 + (6) = 18
Inspiration on saving throws costs 2 uses :( but that should be enough to save, yeah?
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Elasbeth Evergreen |

Elasbeth carefully moves back the way she came a five feet before trying to determine if she can do anything for her blindness. heal to determine treatment: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Tamoq Swarmcaller |

Tamoq will simply swing at the creature's square, assuming he can determine which square it's in based on sound...
Miss chance, 51-100 hits: 1d100 ⇒ 16 <-Miss!
Tamoq dagger: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10
Damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
"Korba! Find it and attack!"
Korba will attempt to determine which square the creature is in using his scent ability.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
If he can tell where it is, he'll move forward and attack the creature.
Miss chance, 51-100 hits: 1d100 ⇒ 31 <-Miss!
Korba bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Damage: 1d4 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2

Raffinyaler |

Assuming he saved vs blindness, Raffinyaler will perceptify to see the BIGBADEVIL past Kunala (if needed), then make a Knowledge Arcana, Local, or Nature check (same bonuses, so whichever would be most appropriate to creature type) to figure out what it is:
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Knowledge (Arcana/Local/Nature) + free Inspiration: 1d20 + 7 + 1d6 ⇒ (14) + 7 + (2) = 23
If he knows what it is: free action to yell to everyone else what it is.
If he doesn't know: free action to yell at Kunala to tell him where the thing is in relation to him.
Also, is the light coming from the creature or the area behind it, and is it constant or was it a flash?

Kimos Kousei |

Apparently patience was lost on city folk, even animals knew better. He moved forward with eyes narrowed to cut down on any blinding light that he may encounter.
If Kimos can see
"Your blocking the tunnel. Move back Kunala."
Kimos will move behind Tamoq and use another move to study the enemy.
Fort if Needed: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Raffinyaler |

Question 1: is it weak or strong against anything in particular (if this would count as multiple questions, strengths only)?
Question 2: about how long can we expect the blindness it caused to last for (rounds/minutes/hours/days/permanent)?

Kunala |
as blood runs down Kunala's leg he ponders
I can't see a blasted thing, I know Elasbeth is blinded also. I hope everyone is doing better than I am. Kimos said I was blocking the tunnel, I wonder how close he is.
Kunala hunkers back down in the tunnel waiting for some good news from the team and the inevitable attack from the BIGBADEVIL

Kunala |
Edited: As Kunala feels himself being tripped, going off balance, slipping in his own blood; he tries to keep his shield between himself and the enemy.
I will stand and move back after those blind move back and those with sight are ready, or is there another plan?
Kunala getting ready to stand up calls back to the team
Are you ready for me to move back, or do you need me to stay here?
while prone Kunala takes a -4 to AC against melee attacks, does he still count the full defense with being prone? With full defense while prone his AC is 15 without full defense his AC is 11, right?

Elasbeth Evergreen |

Still unable to see, Elasbeth carefully moves another ten feet back, acrobatics to move half speed: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 and tries to figure our where the attacking creature is. And puts her back to a pillar, drawing her arms in close in a defensive postion. She fights defensively this round

Kimos Kousei |

Kimos fires his arrow at the creature, having to adjust his aim not to hit the man.
Shortbow vs Monster: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 6 - 4 = 171d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
"No you should keep blocking the tunnel until the beast kills you. Preventing us from attacking it the whole while. Sarcasm aside, if your blinded then make room. A lone beast is best surrounded."

Kunala |
being prone changes the plan, I was hoping to step back 5 ft to minimize aoo and keep full defense, since the area behind me is occupied I must pass through it...
Kunala, tired of hearing the "outdoor experts" whine and cry, says
be careful what you wish for boys
he stops defending, so no full defense turning in his own pool of blood and crawls back the way he came, opposite of where he hears voices.
I realize i'm giving an aoo at AC 11, I will crawl at speed, double move, so 10 ft., I hope since I am already prone I can do that :)

Raffinyaler |

"The blindness will wear off on it's own in about an hour, in the meantime we need to get rid of that blindheim!"
Raffinyaler turns towards the creature, waves his arms in the air, and yells wordlessly at it in an attempt to frighten it as he moves forward.
Intimidate as standard action. Readying a move to follow Kimos forward so I can try to set up a flank next turn.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17

Kimos Kousei |

Finally with the flop out of the way he rushs in, dropping his bow as he goes, just as he comes upon the Blindheim. Esuro appears in his hand as he slashes the enemy in a diagonal arc.
Esuro vs Blindheim: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 281d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Critical: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 171d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Edited for crit

Kimos Kousei |

Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Without stating the rounds in post, you pretty much guess your turn. So yeah DM would be the only one to know 100%. I admit I don't. xZ
Edit- Going to take another guess and say Kimos can see just fine. :P

Kunala |
the first four Helikon posted in his sixth post Wed. the last two his second post Thur. I had copied and pasted them for my own reminder, didn't think to post them since we were going with block initiative.
Bigbadevil INI: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Elasbeth init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Kunala iniative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Tamoq Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
iniRaff: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
iniKim: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
The other clue may be that the bigbadevil hadn't gone since your last turn :)

Helikon |

The Blindheim does a five foot and attacks Raffinyaler
5footstep
attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 71d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 241d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 81d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
But I am fan of the defining critical and I will give Kimos his moment of glory.
