From the party funds, I was thinking the following:
Wand of CMW (10 charges) (900 gp)
2x Scroll: Lesser restoration (300 gp)
Scroll: Remove paralysis (150 gp)
Scroll: Silence (150 gp)
Scroll: remove blindness/deafness (375 gp)
Scroll: remove curse (375 gp)Total 2250 gp
Pretty solid list. GM approves!
GM Giuseppe |
This encounter buys you some time to work on your equipment. Make sure to take advantage of this additional time!

Looks good to me too!
Edit: where are we keeping track of these? Should we add another tab on the loot tracker? Come to think of it, did anyone else keep track of what we bought the last time we used party funds?
Calden Tigg |
This is what we bought last time.

we distributed the healing potions among ourselves. The other stuff, no idea.
(I also think the price for that scroll of restoration on there is way too low. Isn't it, for a level 4 spell?)
I would suggest Merephel write these items on her sheet, since she is the one who has to use them when the time comes.

Merephel Angorat |
I updated my sheet with the party restorative items. I'll be doing my shopping in the next few minutes.
EDIT: Here is what Merephel got for Christmas:
2500gp + 790 GP (Merephel never spends her money!) = 3290 GP
+25gp from sale of her scale mail
-350 for Masterwork Breastplate (Only a net +1 to AC, but that's still an improvement!)
-450 for Authoritative Vestments
-5 for Spring Loaded Wrist Sheath
-1000 for +1 Enhancement Bonus to Armor
-1000 for +1 Enhancement Bonus to Shield
-300 for Potion of Blur
-50 for Potion of Protection from Chaos
-50 for Potion of Hide from Undead
Total Monies Left = 110 GP

Hmm, you're right about the scroll of restoration. I thought it was a 3rd level spell I guess. It should have been 750 plus another 100 for material costs.
I guess this shows two things about me: one, I've mostly played in Pathfinder Society, where I've paid for the occasional restoration, but with Prestige Points instead of gold. Two, it shows that I really haven't played much at higher levels. I'd say 90% of all the Pathfinder (and D&D 3.5) I've played has been level 5 and below.
Calden Tigg |
RL game tonight, so not much time for additional shopping. I'll try to finalize that tomorrow morning.
Also, since I don't have Roll20 here. Could you please move me 5 ft North?

Following from my earlier list:
MW Cold iron kama (304 gp)
Oil of Daylight (750)
2x potion of Mage armor (100 gp)
2x potion of Magic Fang (100 gp)
2x potion of CMW (600 gp)
2x Scroll of protection from evil (50 gp)
Total 1604 gp (600 gp left)
If it's OK with Giuseppe, I'd like to buy a MW Cold iron Temple sword instead of a Kama. The weapon was introduced in the Adventurer's Armory, apparently. The kama was already a purchase of necessity, without a good story behind it. For the Temple sword, I can see Calden talking a morning off alone, visiting some place of meditation to get some peace of mind. He'll meet someone who went to Vudra once, they get into a sparring session together, and eventually Calden is gifted the blade, as gratitude for ridding Tamran of the Razmirans. He'll donate its worth (360 gp) to the temple, of course.
That puts me at 544 gp left from my share, + 66 gp I had left from earlier.
Other than that, I came across this gem: Salve of the second chance I have no idea how deadly the next adventure will be, but "Isle of Terror" and "City of Golden Death" doesn't sound too friendly. This item might a nice (and risky) insurance policy, for if one of us doesn't make it...
I had 610 gp left, and I might drop the purchase of the Oil of daylight. Brings me to 1410. If someone can spot the last 190, we could have a nice salve to save someone's bacon. Thoughts?
Merephel Angorat |
That is a terrific idea! I'll throw in my 110 towards that.
Shirzon the Quarter |
I can throw in another 12 gold, but that's all I've got left. :P

Wow, great ideas Calden! I really much appreciate your use of the sources and will reward the whole group for that. You'll have a 600 gp discount on the salve, meaning you can buy it for only 1000 gp!
As for the temple sword your story is convincing, so go ahead! ;)
Shirzon the Quarter |
Good job in the fight, friends! I listed what I took from thugs in the gameplay thread, and can add them to the loot sheet later. I was thinking we would sell the masterwork weapons (unless someone would like a backup) and distribute the consumables. I don't know how to decide who gets the cloak of resistance. Does anyone already have one?
Also, I've been noticing some trends: I feel like just about every time we have a random encounter, Korech ends up unconscious. I guess he just seems like a threat! The other thing I've noticed is that although Shirzon doesn't actually have that much investment into the intimidate skill, I feel like I've only rolled really high numbers on it recently. Shirzon might end up thinking she's scarier than she really is. :P
Calden Tigg |
Sweet. I'll put the Salve on my character sheet, and keep the 600 gp we saved in reserve. Maybe I'll but the Oil of Daylight after all, if we sell some of Lorric's loot.
The cloak of protection might be best for Korech of Shirzon. Their saves seem to be the lowest among us.
Merephel, would you please add to your characters sheet the 2x Scroll of Protection from Evil I bought? You'd be the one to cast it anyway. :)
Merephel Angorat |
Absolutely, consider it done!
Korech |
Shirzon should grab the cloak. Korech has two strong saves - Shirzon has one.
Shirzon the Quarter |
Sounds good to me, I'll take the cloak. :)
Here's the consumables we've acquired:
acid (2)
alchemist's fire (6)
caltrops (3)
potion of cure light wounds (2)
bottle of Oldlaw whiskey (2) (Shirzon won't take these; she's allergic to whiskey)
2 doses of allnight
Calden Tigg |
With the bounty and coin from Lorric, we have enough to buy that Oil of Daylight. Who wants to add it to their equipment list?
Finally, I propose to sell the other Masterwork items. Seems like no one would have need of those.
Of the other items, maybe Merephel should take the potion of Invis, since the rest of us have a somewhat decent Stealth score. Finally, the Brooch of Shielding might be useful one day. Who wants it?
(Calden won't take the Whiskey either. He doesn't drink).
Merephel Angorat |
Believe it or not, Merephel can cast Invisibility on herself once a day. Let someone else take the potion, for when we need TWO invisible characters.
I vote Korech gets the Brooch, since he is a ranged character, and therefore more likely to be subject to Magic Missiles.

PATHFINDER RPG IN ITALY #1
Welcome to this new survey about Pathinder RPG in Italy. (XD)
This week: Did you know that in Italy every Pathfinder Adventure Path is published as a single hardcover? Take a look at it!
Merephel Angorat |
Man, that is a cool-looking book! I wish everything was hardcover over here!
Shirzon the Quarter |
That is cool! I mostly just get the pdfs, though, since they're cheaper. :P
Selling off the thugs gear, together with their coin, comes out to:
1209.8 gp, or 302.45 per person. I suppose we could just add it all to the party fund.
Certainly enough for a daylight. Either Merephel or Calden should probably take that, since Korech and I have darkvision.
I can take the extra potion of invisibility, since for me it's essentially a free sneak attack, if that's all right.
Merephel Angorat |
Sure! Go ahead Shirzon.
Calden, you take the Daylight. Shelyn knows Merephel has enough scrolls and potions already!
Calden Tigg |
I'll take the Oil then, even though I already feel more like an alchemist than a monk, from all the potions I'm carrying. :)
That's indeed a nice book. I'm like Shirzon in that I usually buy PDF's. This goes especially for the rules books, because the difference in price is quite big. For the world building books like Inner Sea Gods I went with hardcover, because the price difference was less and because that's the kind of topics I want to dig into reading on the couch.
GM Giuseppe |
Guys do not forget to add the 500 gp you've earned as a reward for turning Whoreson Lorric over to the authorities to your party fund. You may want to spend your party fund before you reach the Isle of Terror.
Calden Tigg |
Good suggestion. I'll look into it. The 500 gp reward was already included by Shirzon in the coin count from the Molthuni thugs, if I recall correctly.
Also, a question that occured to me this morning: Will we have to worry about supplies like rations and water for our trip to and on the island, or will you handwave that kind of bookkeeping?
GM Giuseppe |
Also, a question that occured to me this morning: Will we have to worry about supplies like rations and water for our trip to and on the island, or will you handwave that kind of bookkeeping?
I'll be ignoring the additional bookkeping required by tracking trail rations and water. Anyway, I would like you to spend 10 gp from the party funds on provisions to pay for your rations, even though we're not going to track them. As far as water is concerned, I would like Merephel to switch her purify food and water spell with create water in order to justify your access to water.
Calden Tigg |
With the cash from the thugs and deducting 10 for supplies and 750 for the oil of daylight, we have 447 gp left. I see three options:
1) I put in 553 gp to make it 1,000 gp and get Shirzon a cloak or resistance +1 as well.
2) I put in everything I have left, which brings us to 1,047 gp. That's 53 gp short of buying an 'Elixir of firebreath'. It's only useful for one encounters, but if we ever have to deal with a horde of cultists, it might just give us the edge. Sort of like the elemental gem in the previous module.
3) Alternatively, we could buy 3 scrolls of Augury (175 gp each) if I add the difference. Might be useful, since we have no idea what we're getting ourselves into.
Shirzon the Quarter |
We don't need to purchase a cloak of resistance, I looted it from Lorric.
I think we can get the Elixir of Firebreath, actually. See my added bold below:

We got the magic salve on a discount. Even though Lorric spread some rumors about a fake magic shop, presumably there are some shops around that would offer us a small hero's discount. I can throw in another 12 gold, and maybe they'd give it to us for a little bit less. :)
Calden Tigg |
Sorry, I already calculated that discount into the salve. It's the reason I have 550 left to spend...

Korech |
Korech has 800 to spend. Do we need another wand of CLW or other 1st level wand? The floating feather token is also tempting, but I think I could get more mileage out of a wand. Korech will pick up a quiver of cold iron arrows though.
Korech |
Korech will snag the wand of CLW. More healing means more power!
Shirzon the Quarter |
Dang, no one rolled a 10 or higher on the Acrobatics check. I feel like boat adventures are proving to be not really our strong suit. :P
Shirzon the Quarter |
Hey Guiseppe, noticed you haven't posted. I hope everything is okay! Don't sweat it if you can't post, I'm sure it's for a good reason; we know you're good for it. :)
GM Giuseppe |
Well, Shirzon, actually I did post yeasterday evening before going off to bed! When I checked back with my phone to check if someone had already answered, the website was down for maintainance, so maybe Paizo swallowed my post...Dammit! I'm sorry for that guys.
Guess I'll post again now then.
Shirzon the Quarter |
Oh no! Yeah, those maintenance updates are tricky sometimes.
Woo level 5!
Calden Tigg |
Level 5:
+1 BAB during Flurry of Blows
+1 BAB for CMB
+8 hp (d8 +1 Con +1 Toughness +1 fcb)
Stunning Fist, +1/day
SQ High jump (+5 on Acrobatics when jumping, always counts as running start. Spend 1 ki for +20 on jump checks).
SQ Purity of body (immune to all diseases
Skills (4 +1 human). Add 1 to Acrobatics, Perception, Sense Motive, Stealth, Swim.
Feat: ???
As before, I'll think some more on my feat. Extra ki is nice, Blind-Fight might become useful, as might Step up.
Merephel Angorat |
5th Level is always a big one for Clerics.
No BAB or Save changes
Channel Energy +1d6 for a total of 3d6
3rd Level Spells
Same Skills as always: Diplomacy, Knowledge: (Religion), Sense Motive, Spellcraft
6 HP (d8 +1 Con)
Prepared Domain Spell is Protection from Energy
Other new prepared 3rd level spell is Dispel Magic.
I too, will be pondering my feat for a while.
Shirzon the Quarter |
Rogue 5
HP +8 (Favored Class Bonus)
Sneak attack 3d6
Skill ranks added: Acrobatics, Craft (Alchemy), Disable Device, Escape Artist, Perception, Stealth, Swim, Use Magic Device
Feat: I'm choosing from:
Iron Will
Friendly Switch
Skill focus Stealth (in preparation for Hellcat Stealth at 7)
There's also a feat to turn our silver raven figurine into a familiar or animal companion: Companion Figurine
Merephel Angorat |
Friendly Switch is great. I took it on Merephel, back at 3rd level, for those times you guys are down and need me to cover you. Hasn't come into play much, but boy is it useful when it does!
EDIT: Also, silly me, I forgot to pick a second 3rd Level spell, due to Merephel's high casting stat. I'll be preparing Protection from Energy, and swapping that Domain Spell to Suggestion.
Korech |
Ranger 5:
HP: Turns out I didn't consistently apply my favored class bonus. Here's my hp recalculated from the ground up with +1 con, +1 fcb.
12 + 8 + 8 + 8 +8 = 44
+1 BAB
No change to saves
2nd favored enemy: humans
Spells per day: 2 first level spells (memorizing entangle and resist energy)
Feat: Deadly aim
Skills: (6 points)
+1 survival, +1 climb, +1 perception, +1 nature, +1 swim, +1 stealth
Shirzon the Quarter |
I think I will take Friendly Switch. Since my fighting style relies so much on positioning, I think it makes sense.
GM Giuseppe |
2nd favored enemy: humans
Remember that when you get you 2nd favored enemy, one of your favored enemy bonus (either humans or undead) increases to +4.
Merephel Angorat |
I decided to take Extra Channel.
Merephel gains two more Energy Channels per day.
