I have a quick question about an item cost. I bought a masterwork cold iron mace, but I have found conflicting information about how much it should cost.
Cold iron doubles weapon price and masterwork adds 300 gp to the price.
So should my weapon cost:
(5+300)×2=610?
Or
(5×2)+300=310?
The specific item listing for a cold iron masterwork longsword has a price of 330 gp, so that would suggest the latter is right. But I've found other contradictory information in the forum discussion. Giuseppe, what's your ruling on this?

Question often discussed in my gaming group as well. BTW my ruling is that cold iron only doubles the base cost of the weapon, not its masterwork quality. So your mace costs 310 gp ;)

Nice! That's 300 gp back to me. I'll see if there's anything I would have spent that extra coin on.

That 300 gp "refund" is enough for me to pick up that pink and green (cracked) ioun stone to boost my UMD.

Well, no resonance. I'll keep the new one in my Wayfinder and store the other one in my bag until I need it (since it's my Craft Alchemy one, no need to keep it orbiting all the time).

Just to clarify on the current encounter with the lizardfolk:
We are subject to their fear aura when we come within 20 feet of them. So, after we're done being panicked, we can avoid it if we stay out of that range? Do we know if it can affect us again if we re-enter that aura?

Hey guys, I searched the messageboard trying to see if I could find a solution to both Calden's (see Gameplay Thread) and Shirzon's questions. I've been unable to find a solution to our problem though, so I'm going to rule that you can be affected by the aura of fear of the same creature only once, regardless of wheter you fail or succeed at the relative saving throw. As a consequence, Merephel, Korech, and Shirzon will all be able to act normally in the next round. Calden would have been able to act normally in this round, so I'm going to check with him his actions before posting.

Meph, assuming you're using your Selective Channel feat, you still have to heal one of the lizardfolk because your Cha bonus only allows you to exclude 2 enemies from your channel energy area. Also, you cannot get within 30 feet of both Calden and Shirzon (see map). You may want to reconsider your actions :D

Hey Giuseppe, I have a question about a combat strategy's rules. This is something I was thinking about doing this round, but I figured I would save it until I got a ruling from you.
Would it be possible to throw down one of my smoke pellets in my own space to give myself concealment, then make a Stealth check within that concealment, and if that's successful break stealth and attack flat-footed AC for sneak attack damage? Obviously if an enemy saw me activate the smoke pellet, they would know the space I'm in, but potentially a Stealth check could let me conceal my movements and such within the smoke to give me the chance to surprise an enemy when I exit or attack from the smoke?
Since it requires a consumable, a successful Stealth roll, and two turns, it's a hassle to set up. But in a desperate situation like this, I feel like it might be worth a try. :P

Korech doesn't need any of the gear, but I'd say take everything but the javelins/daggers.

I have bracers +1 already, so that's not an upgrade for me unfortunately.
I would suggest we take the magical items, the masterwork items, the alchemical stuff and the poisons. Everything else is not really worth the hassle to stow and track, as far as Calden is concerned.

Yeah, we can leave behind all the normal quality weapons and stuff. The magical stuff is nice, though, that has good sell value.
Before we were interrupted by the skeletons, did Merephel get enough rest to reset her spells and daily channels? It make a difference as to how she heals herself.
Also, I vote we keep those items. That wand and ring could be very useful indeed!

Hey all! I've been running a PbP game of the Risen from the Sands module for a few months now. One of my players has had to drop out due to real life issues, so I was wondering if any of you would like to join us?
Here are the quick details:
- We're more than halfway through, so we're just looking for another player to help close out. It could be fun, but not necessarily deep.
- It's a dungeon crawl for sure, with traps and a puzzle and lots of fighting in big stone rooms. There's a little room for roleplay, especially within the party (and they've "befriended" a couple of undead NPCs), but the themes are very pulp/explorer genre.
- I'm running it very slowly. We were one a day, but right now we're at an inconsistent couple of times per week. It's actually proving to be a nicely leisurely pace for me, but if you don't want something that slow, that's something to keep in mind.
- The party is a raven wizard with her human familiar, a melee dwarf ranger, and a Kitsune medium. That may influence your decision, but I invite you to play whatever you'd like if you're interested. :)
