I'm from the Netherlands. Unfortunately, the nearest Lodge where PFS is played on a regular basis is still a two hour drive, and that's only on weekdays. The nearest games in the weekend are 2,5 hours away.
I've been setting up my own games nearby, but it's slow going. I have three regular players so far, but none of them feel comfortable GM'ing yet. Which means that responsibility is up to me. We play every other week, which is as much as I can prepare and run. For playing, I'm left with PbP and the occasional drive in the weekend for a RL game.

2.5 hours away must be on the other side of the country!

Calden Tigg |

It is, almost. That's my own fault though, for choosing to live in the far North of the country. ;) Most people live in the West, so it's reasonable that most of the gaming activity takes place down there...

Merephel Angorat |

Here are those Cure Light Wounds rolls:
Cure Light Wounds x3: 3d8 + 9 ⇒ (2, 5, 5) + 9 = 21
Okay! I'll mark off 3 1st level spells!

Shirzon the Quarter |

How much do we heal naturally? I know we heal nonlethal per hour rested, but I don't know if it's our HD per hour, or what.

GM Giuseppe |

Healing Nonlethal Damage: You heal nonlethal damage at the rate of 1 hit point per hour per character level. When a spell or ability cures hit point damage, it also removes an equal amount of nonlethal damage.
So, basically, 3 nonlethal damage per hour.

GM Giuseppe |

Okay guys, I've been waiting for Merephel and Shirzon to post for a whole day. Merephel has luckily posted in the meantime, but I'm still waiting for Shirzon.
I don't want the game to slow down too much, so from Tomorrow on I will really bot you if you don't post within the deadline. I'll give Shirzon this whole night to post her actions, but then I'll be moving things forward regardless. We really need to get things moving again :D

GM Giuseppe |

Merephel: You cannot take 10 on your check but you can take 10. Would you like to do that instead of rolling the die? Also, please update your vital stats as soon as possible :)

GM Giuseppe |

Ok, so no signs from Shirzon...I'll update the Gameplay Thread nonetheless though. I hope everything is alright for her :(

GM Giuseppe |

Guys, I'm noticing that your posting has become very...tiring, I may say, in the last few days, except for Calden, as though posting was becoming a hindrance for you.
Is there anything wrong? Are you experiencing a hard time in RL or you have just lost interest in the game? We can skip the daily "routine" part of the module if you wish so. Just give me a hint of what is making it harder for you to post regularly and well as before, and I'll try to repair that if I can.

Merephel Angorat |

Oh, it's nothing you're doing Giuseppe. Me personally, I've just been really sick the last few days, and working half days. So I post from work like normal, but it's been hard to maintain it at home, since I usually crash. Thankfully, I am starting to feel better today, and should be back to normal soon. I'm still greatly enjoying the game!
I apologize for not mentioning I'd been under the weather; I guess I hadn't realized it was affecting my posting that dramatically.
Also, the baby is teething, so sleeping at night isn't really happening.
:/

Calden Tigg |

I also thought I'd try to chime in. I find myself condensing the reaction to the various tasks, because most of it is the same we've already seen before. For those tasks, it's a matter of making the rolls and interpreting how the days went (and which negative consequences that brings with it).
I was going to try and inject some more interaction with the other PC's this day, but unfortunately I got stuck at transcription. We've each been doing our own things for the past few days, I (as a player) think it's about time we get our heads together whenever we can and try to formulate a plan.

Merephel Angorat |

I agree!

Giuseppe, could you confirm how the transcription penalties work? From what you described to Merephel, I assumed that you need to roll one check, and once more if the first one fails. If the first one fails, you can't get a full night's rest. If the second one fails as well, you get the mask of shame and lose your night action. Is that right?
(I was thinking about the mathematics behind it. With a DC 15 and Int 10, the first check fails about 3/4 of the time. With the second roll included, it's still over 50% chance to fail either. I guess we got lucky so far, but that seems to put a damper on our progress at night, and on our ability to coordinate.)

Yes, you're right Calden!
It's hard indeed, but this part of the adventure is going to end up soon :D

GM Giuseppe |

Guys, I'm having a hard time figuring out what to do with Shirzon. She doesn't seem to be able/willing to post, and I don't know what to do...I think I need some time to think about how to handle this matter properly before moving things along...Any suggestions?

GM Giuseppe |

Also, Korech, I explicitly wrote that you were given your equipment back the previous day. Additionally, I also wrote that there's no other area to explore on the lower level apart from the locked door you've discovered a few days ago. What area would you like to explore precisely? Would you like to try and explore the second floor? That would be very risky, Korech knows that.

Merephel Angorat |

My suggestion would be to bot her over the weekend, in case Shirzon is just without power or internet. If that's the case, it should be resolved by Monday.

Korech |

My sincere apologies. On the earlier comment about phoning it in - the repeated sections day by day mean that I'm skimming far more than I should and missing important details. I'll re-do Korech's action.
Further to that, I was rolling on the DC 10 linguistics check, not the int check, completely missing that linguistics is trained only.

Calden Tigg |

Maybe you could put us in a situation over the weekend, where at least the three of us have a chance to interact? That will give us enough to do and keep some momentum going, while giving Shirzon some more time to check in (and give you time to find an alternate solution, should it come to that). That way you don't have to put the game on hold, but gives us some free reign over the weekend to interact.

GM Giuseppe |

I'll do as both Calden and Merephel suggest. I'll be updating the Gameplay Thread tomorrow morning :)

GM Giuseppe |

I really hope that Shirzon has had some internet access problems and has not simply abandoned the game, because I loved her character and the way she was playing it, and I think that the party won't be the same without her, although we would find a way to go on regardless, of course.

Shirzon the Quarter |

Hey all, sorry I haven't checked in. Work picked up way more than it ever has before, and between that and feeling exhausted all week (I think I got mildly sick on top of that) I haven't really had much of a chance to do anything besides go to work, eat dinner, and go to bed. I will post today. Thank you all for your patience.
I'll do some back-reading to figure where I've been botted and such, and get up to speed.

GM Giuseppe |

Oh Shirzon, I'm so glad you're back! :D I'll provide you with all the information you may need tomorrow morning! :)

GM Giuseppe |

I still see the same roll20 map - upstairs, the scene where we had to fight each other. Also, do we have our gear at this very moment? Or just the robes/masks?
Yes Korech, unfortunately I had some problems on the laptop I usually use Photoshop on, but everything should be back to normal tomorrow :)
As far as your equipment goes, yoi have your gear at this very moment ;)

GM Giuseppe |

Calden, technically you have your own money with you so you might pay the money the Church of Razmir is asking for, saying that the baker gave them to you as a payment. Of course, you would also need to convince them that you're not lying, attempting a Bluff check, but you can try and make plans with your allies to have someone else attempt the Bluff check. You could ask to Ofelia to try and Bluff instead of you, if you trust her. In this case, you would need to attempt a Diplomacy check to ask her this favor.

Shirzon the Quarter |

It's too bad that Shirzon is missing, because it looks like all you good-aligned sorts could really use some true neutral assistance. :P

Shirzon the Quarter |

Sorry my posts slowed down again. Work lightened up enough that I'm not completely out of it when I get home, but I still have some projects that keep me from posting much in the day. I'll try to get in shorter posts, rather than no posts, during that time.

Calden Tigg |

Maybe some more planning is in order: I think out best bet is to go back through secret tunnel, and head straight up to the second level of the temple complex. Then it'll require a bit of luck to find the right room. Probably the door with the most golden ornaments in it. :/
I think we should stick reasonably close together as a group, but maybe Shirzon can scout ahead small distances.

GM Giuseppe |

Merephel, you only need one hour to restore you spell slots back to full. Would you like to do that?

Calden Tigg |

I think we can spare that time. Merephel, did we also have a scroll to deal with ability score damage? I'd like to get rid of my 2 STR damage, if possible.
Edit: maybe you could prepare a Silence spell, just in case we need to smash in a door, or know there's a fight coming up.
-Posted with Wayfinder

Merephel Angorat |

Yes, I would like to prepare spells, and yes we have a little capacity to restore ability damage.
As to Silence, I'll be glad to prepare it! Never be afraid to suggest spells. We're a team!
EDIT: You guys are way ahead of me!
Here is my spell list:
Spells Prepared:
Orisons: Detect Magic, Light, Purify Food and Drink, Stabilize
1st Level: Bless, Sanctuary, Shield of Faith
2nd Level: Silence
Domain Spells Prepared:
1st Level: Charm Person
2nd Level: Calm Emotions

GM Giuseppe |

I'll be waiting for Merephel before posting, as her role in this fight might be crucial.

Merephel Angorat |

Unfortunately, Merephel only has Knowledge: Religion, so she has no idea WHAT these are. Should be interesting.

Merephel Angorat |

That was a great Channel roll!

GM Giuseppe |

Hey yes Calden, just had a very hectic Sunday. I'm gonna be posting soon, don't worry!

Shirzon the Quarter |

▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁
ROUND 6
▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔
... Right after, Roksana fails to connect with the elemental with her light mace, but she’s able to hit it again with her magical dagger ...
I knew it would happen eventually! :P

Shirzon the Quarter |

It's no problem! From what I read in the recruitment thread, Roksana is a pretty cool character, too. The comparison is, I'm sure, mutually flattering.

Shirzon the Quarter |

I got the loot tracking updated! I've only claimed the oil of invisibility. I think giving Merephel the mace makes sense, as that will allow her to mix it up in melee and let Korech dedicate more time to archery, if she prepares the right combat spells (some buffs or spiritual weapon maybe?).
I think Shirzon might want to push on to at least one more room before we consider spending another night here. If we push on, she might ask for some more healing from Merephel, or drink that potion of cure mod. wounds that we found.
If we spend another night posing as cultists, we should try to put all the bulky loot back where we found it, and sneak it out another time. Shirzon will also have to go back to her cell, so as not to raise suspicions.

GM Giuseppe |

Hey guys, I just want to encourage you to do better and put a little bit of efforts more in this game. With time, you have lost part of the initial sprint, but that's kinda normal. Now it's time to gain that interest in the game again, if we want to close this adventure (we're not that far after all!)
A few things I would like you to improve:
1. Posting rate - I've realized that somehow real life has forced to slow down your posting rate. It's OK, bad times happen. So, I think we can settle to 2 posts/day for the moment, one in the morning and one in the evening or afternoon. But please, try to respect the deadline and above all try to always post before the deadline.
2. Keep your vital stats updated - I know sometimes one just forgets to update his vital stats line, but I really need that your vital stats are constantly updated now that we're entering the "dungeon crawl" part of this module.
3. Discuss a tad more - I find that of late you've had some difficulties due to the lack of comunication between players. Try to use the Discussion Thread to make plans and discute tactics, where to go next, and things like that.
I don't really want to see this game die, but I need everyone of you to put a bit of effort more into it if we want to keep it going.
Happy Gaming!

Calden Tigg |

I'm awfully sorry to have to post this now, after Giuseppe's encouragement, but I won't be able to post until about 11 pm. Work was crazy, and I have PFS tonight. I had hoped to read up and post during dinner, but I had to help two players create new characters. :( Sorry again.

Like I laid out in my post, we have two options:
- Head upstairs and try to find the boss's quarters
- Keep going down. Maybe there's some evidence or prisoners or something.
I'm voting the first one, but does anyone else want to go down instead?
