Kurag Urlot III
Kurag walks back and forth to him testing out the trapped area. Perfectly fine now. Just don’t push that stone there or step in that pool of blood there and you will not rest the traps.
Can we bot Greta with some healing?
Rask Hammersong
Between emergency grand daughter watching and being sick the rest of the week, I have not had much of a chance to post.
"Because he is still alive," Rask replies to Kiln, then chuckles softly.
Shouldering Agrimmosh, Rask waits till Greta heals up Kurag, then nodding to Kiln so he is ready, he opens the portcullis and goes into the next room.
DM RichD
Greta taps Kurag several times with the wand bringing him to full.
Where to next? Out of the General's tent (K4) or through the secret door (K11)?

Secret door!
Kurag listens at the door for a hint if what might be on the other side then opens it if all seems safe.
Perception 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Kurag Urlot III
Kurag whispers to the others about the probability of giants. Get ready for another fight with the big boys. We should have some surprise on our side again.
Kurag casts gravity bow and opens the door for Kiln and Rask to head in!
I can use the wand of cure light wounds guys so I will add it to my inventory and keep track of it if everyone is ok with that.
DM RichD
The door is open and the two dwarves charge in. Ugly does not even begin to describe the site that you see. A frail and emaciated creature stands before you. She-if she is female-has a vestigial arm growing where her normal arm would be. The male has thick, scaly skin and a misshapen, lumpy head. You figure if an ogre mated with a human, then this would be the result!
Kiln and Rask both wound the creatures.

Khari Dronwoth
The creak of a door opening followed by the heavy footsteps announce Khari's approach. "Oi, do you lot know how long I've been trying to catch up?" she huffs, wiping away sweat from her brow and studying the group. "Almost since you all left Trunau is the answer, but never mind that." Tapping the dead body of one of the fallen ogrekin with her light pick, she offers the group a grin. "Glad to see I'm following the right sort. The name's Khari, by the by, an-" upon spotting Kurag, she stops mid-sentence.
"Kurag, is that you? I haven't seen you since you were a yae-high, Oh look at ya, all grown!" Patting the dwarven ranger on the shoulder, she offers a grin, causing the wrinkles on her face to etch in deeper. "However I suppose now is not the best chance to catch up, we still have some work to do. Is anyone here injured? I can patch you up before the Abyss opens up." she offers, tapping her foot in anticipation.
Kurag Urlot III
Kurag is in the process of gathering up the arrows and one of the massive composite longbows when the door opens behind them. Pulling his normal bow free and notching an arrow he is relieved when another dwarf appears. It takes him a second to realize just who it is though. When he does he almost drops his bow. Khari?!? What are you doing here? I haven't seen you since I was hanging out with your daughter over 2 decades ago. If I recall correctly you were trying to swat my bottom after swiping one of your meat pies for us to share on the way to the surface. That was the last time I saw your family as I was leaving the next day on my first hard ride on the surface. Ever since then I have never made it back home. How is your daughter doing? For a few years there wasn't a night that didn't go by that I didn't think of her.
Khari Dronwoth
Khari lets out a laugh at the mention of her eldest, "Torra? She's doing well last I heard. She's helping manage a mithral mine round abouts the Kingtower Pass. She's still single, if you're asking." Wiggling her eyebrows at the younger dwarf she fingers the beard ring hanging around her neck, a habit she's picked up after months on the road.
BB Beetle
|
BB introduces himself the way he always does. With a hug.
Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Yup, good old BB. "Kurag, you didn't say you were inviting friends!" He laughs. "I'd go through the whole introduction, but we're slaying orcs. And ogres. And giants sometimes. You can call me BB."
Khari Dronwoth
"Oh! You're a hugger." Khari jumps a bit when engulfed by BB, opting to pat his back awkwardly, waiting for the embrace to end. "As Kurag stated, I'm Khari. I can handle some good ol' fashion monster bashing. It's been some time since my weapons have seen battle." Patting the light pickaxe on her hip, she nods at the others, "Did you need some healing, or will we be returning to the bloodshed?"
Kurag Urlot III
At the mention of Torra’s name Kurag winces ever so slightly. She was perhaps the strongest reason to stay back home but even then that wasn’t enough for him. Yet he couldn’t help wonder what may have been...
I am good to go Khari. I have a wand that has helped but not sure about the others.
BB Beetle
|
"In terms of injury I think we're doing alright." He peers at the orcs. "I don't think these guys are coming back, though."
Khari Dronwoth
"Well that's a right good thing to hear. Where to lads? The longer we linger here, the more likely they will figure out where we are." Khari states, glancing at the secret passage they find themselves crammed into.
As I have no real good handle on where everyone has been, I'm fine wading into whatever mess comes up next!
Rask Hammersong
Rask: AC 23; HP 65/84; LoH 1/2; Smite 1/1
Bowing to Khari, "Rask Hammersong at your service. I could use a small amount of healing if you have blessings left for the day."
Once healed, "thank you."
He turns to Kurag, "lead on" and he and Kiln wait for Kurag to check out a little ahead of them, then follow.
Khari Dronwoth
Nodding in respect to Rask, Khari pulls out a finely carved wand of deep redwood with golden beads. "Aye, I can see to your wounds, Rask." Tapping him twice with her wand, Khari inspects the healing to ensure that there will be no lasting effects of the damage the paladin incurred. "That seems to have done the trick! Try and keep out of harms way, eh?" she playfully admonishes, storing the wand back into her pack.
Cure Mod: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (6, 2) + 3 = 11
Cure Mod: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (6, 1) + 3 = 10
Heal: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Rask Hammersong
Rask: AC 23; HP 84/84; LoH 1/2; Smite 1/1
No need for the "heal" at the end. The two CMW are enough.
Feeling much better after Khari taps him with the wand twice, Rask flexes and stretches. "Better, Lady Khari", he says, then he continues, "getting into harms way is what I do."

Kurag stands guard as he motions to the others to follow him over. Once there he asks, From here we can stay up top to clear the entrance guard towers or we can head down to take out the courtyard. Regardless we finish with this section here we will have cleared the south and eastern portions of the fort. Any preferences which way to go?

Are we taking any prisoners or will we be sending them all to meet their makers? I'd hate to accidentally step on any toes here." she asks, glancing to the purposed path and following the others.
BB Beetle

BB seems aghast. "W-well, if we find any imprisoned dwarves and they aren't as bad as bloodthirsty manticores we should definitely free them." He pauses then relaxes. "Oh, you meant the orcs and ogres? I'm pretty sure we're killing them all if they don't surrender."

Still keeping an eye open for threats Kurag answers quietly. We are here to clear the fort of its current occupants. However Umlo has asked us to find a halforc, Droja, who befriended him.
He stops short when he sees the ogrekin and comes back to the group. 3 more uglies up ahead. Not much room so close wet work again.
Khari Dronwoth
Swinging her pick over her shoulder, Khari sighs heavily. "Aye, that makes things a tad bit complicated, but we'll find this Umlo." Upon hearing the news about the enemies up ahead, she flashes the others a wicked smile. "Well that sounds like a good way to let off some steam." Cracking her neck, the cleric stretches a bit before clapping her hands. "I'll let the rest of ye wade into combat, I'll try to keep you patched up as best as I can."
Kurag Urlot III
Yes...same as last time. sorry. Go ahead and assume that Kurag opens the door for the melee crew to pile in and do their thing while Kurag fires from the safety next to the cleric ;p
