Piles of cracked bones, discarded hides, rotten meat, and other refuse are heaped along the walls, filling the air with an overwhelming stench. To the southeast, a narrow staircase ascends to an open rooftop overlooking the inner ward.
Carcasses of various humanoids and animals lie in haphazard piles in this room. A hill giant, probably the fort's resident cook, works in this area, filleting meat from both humanoid and animal carcasses. The giant's hands are wrapped in filthy, bloodied bandages, as he constantly gnaws on his own plump fingers, chewing them to the bone. When he hears the door open, he giddily laughs. Dwarvies! I was wondering what to put in my stew and now I know!
Stepping up to the giant, Rask swings Agrimmosh, hitting the giant with his swing, but the back track of the weapon misses.
Likewise, Kiln, not caring to be giant food moves up...

"I guess there's no time for diplomacy, huh?" BB points his wand of Flaming Sphere at the cook.
A spongy ball of flame appears, dealing Fire Damage.
Mubs howls in pain as he is burned by the sphere! Rask hits the giant but Kiln misses.
Scoffing as the giant declares them ingredients, Khari attempts to call upon her goddess's strength to help Rask in his fight against this "chef" "I hope that Dranngvit is willing to bless you with her strength, Rask." she states, trying to infuse the paladin with some divine strength.
Kurag takes the opportunity to quickly draw a set of arrows and fire them at the unsuspecting giant before it can even register what is happening.

But in his rush Kurag is 3xtremely wide of his mark.
Kurag misses as he tries to hit the giant while Khari helps Rask out.
The cook swings his cleaver at Rask.

Kiln continues swinging at the giant...

"Negotiate, hell" yells Rask at BB. "We were its next meal."
Swinging Agrimmosh at the cook, Rask hits it twice, and he grunts thanks at Khari for the added strength.
Kurgan tried to steady himself as he draws another set of arrows to fire at the giant. Problem was that now Rask and Kiln were in the way.

Kurag cursed himself silently as both arrows flew away and missed the giant again. He was going to have to spend some time researching giants and tactics to better target them in the future.
Kurag's two arrows and Kiln both miss Mub. BB's sphere has no affect. Rask makes up for his companions by landing two solid blows!
Mub again swings his cleaver at Rask.
He misses.
Now that he has his rhythm going, Rask swings Agrimmosh and hits the giant cook twice, putting it down. Standing over the creature, "so much for a meal of dwarves" he grunts at the cook.
Determined to be helpful, Kiln keeps swinging...

With the others landing blows Kurag decides not to waste any more arrows and takes a peek out the door they enter to make sure no one was coming in after them. As the giant falls Kurag nods his head in appreciation. Nice job up front there guys. Nice job with the fire as well B.B.
Watching the giant go down, Khari begins digging through the cupboards. "Great job everyone, let's see what passes for provisions in this kitchen."
Rask and Kiln put Mubs down. Besides some nasty smelling food stores, you find nothing of note.
Grunting a bit from the exertion of continually having to put down opponent after opponent, Rask turns to Khari, "thanks for the help. Made putting down that giant much easier."
Then to Kiln, "we make a good team, you hit'em from the left side, I'll hit'em from the right" and he chuckles slightly.
Looking over at Kurag, "which way next, scout."
If there is an upstairs the Kurag will scout up. If not then he odds them outside into the other courtyard.

Six round boulders, each larger than a human, sit stacked in a precariously balanced pyramid atop this flat roof.
Kurag tries to be stealthy but the hill giant standing next to the pile of rocks notices him.
Hey! You ain't supposed to be here!
He picks up a boulder and chucks it at Kurag.
But his surprise at seeing Kurag causes him to flub his throw!
The giant picks up another stone!
And misses again!
Kurag nimbly sidestepped the giants attempts to strike him with the boulders. Taunting it Kurag shouts, Let me show you how it is done.

"And another one for us to put down, Kiln" says Rask as he swings Agrimmosh twice, however missing with the back swing.

Khari furrows her brows in confusion as Rask speaks "Kiln? Who's- oh Red!" she exclaims, finally putting two and two together. Moving up to the giant, Khari takes a swing at the giant. However her pickaxe goes wide.
Kurag launches two arrows into the giant and he yelps in pain!
Khari misses with her pickaxe.
Rask delivers a solid blow!
The giant steps out of the way of BB's Fireball and the giant says, Ha!
Kiln steps up swinging at the giant!

Kiln delivers a solid blow with Torag's Edge, but misses in his 2nd attempt.
The giant picks up his great club and tries to hit Kiln!
The hapless giant is no better with his club then he was with rocks!
"It is wounded, lets put it down and not give it another chance!" says Rask as he swings Agrimmosh at the giant.
Kiln continues to try and dish out damage to the giant...

Kurag delays till everyone else has gone to see if the giant is still standing. If it is then he will fire again with another set of arrows.

Swinging her axe at the giant, Khari attempts to hit the thing again. "Spry one, ain't ye?"
Rask and Kiln get on either side of the giant and a second later the giant is a bloody pulp!
Letting the others search the body and the room Kurag moves over to the door in the rom and listens closely at it for other creatures and for traps. If he does not hear anything then he will open that up as well and search it out.

"Lead on Kurag" quips Rask, as he prepares for battle against the giant foes.
Entering the larder , you see several barrels of rendered fat.
"Ugh, that sounds terrible" Rask adds to BB's comment.
