Hey everyone! I underestimated the time this investigation piece will likely take. Now I'm stuck in a bind, and want to put the details out to you guys and do what's best for the group. I'm going to be in the rainforests of Panama for a week. I'll be out from April 19-26. If people don't mind the pause, we can just play as normal through until the 18th and pick it back up when I return. Thoughts? (I'm terribly sorry.)

Yes, please post in spoilers, and THANK YOU! In the aftermath of the events, Aegis retreats to a hut he used to train at on the island of Jalmaray. There he writes down his version of events as objectively and as completely as possible. He sends each of other others a copy. After completing his writing he finds himself unready to leave. Days become weeks, and weeks become months. He spends most of his time meditating, training, and cogitating. It is quiet day when the first student arrives at his doorstep. Word of his psychic power and training eventually makes it out into the world. Perhaps it is from his account of the events, or perhaps it's someone noticing him on one of his supply trips into town. He takes the student in and in time has a cohort of six. He finds himself fulfilled by the training. The schedule is physically and mentally demanding. In time students take their leave as new ones begin. There are days where Aegis thinks of what is out there, and if he should return to the world to test his mettle again. Those days are few and far between, but they are there...

I DON'T KNOW THE FIRST THING ABOUT ANYTHING. LIKE, NOTHING. I MEAN, I'M A PATHFINDER IF THAT MEANS ANYTHING, BUT IT SHOULDN'T BECAUSE IT DOESN'T. INSTEAD OF SENDING ME A LETTER, YOU SHOULD TRY A WIZARD. THEY KNOW WEIRD STUFF LIKE THAT. I KNOW A WIZARD. HE'S NAMED AFTER ME AXE. ASK HIM YOUR WEIRDO QUESTIONS. HIS NAME IS ZANDERAL. The only freedom he’ll see is in death.” he then bites down on a Leto-brand poisoned tooth to ensure that he isn't taken alive! All eyes turn to Ongie, "Wow... well umm.... She nods and gives Aldo a toothy grin. “I admire the ijtikris,” Shazarad says, gazing out the tent at the protesters beyond. “Standing up for what they believe in! But this place is gonna kill ’em. So, I figured I’d help! Necrografts may be a little squishy, but they’re perfect for this situation. Why, with a black heart inside ’em, my friends outside won’t even notice the radiation. Or the poisonous air. And, uh, maybe they won’t notice the fact they’re dead inside. I don’t know! But, I’m helping, and that’s what matters.” For taking the 20 Bp, the party earns 800 XP. You are no longer pressed for time, and I've updated both the XP Tracker and the Trade Tab. Looks like the treasure hasn't been captured, which means your splits aren't going to be accurate. So, given your new wealth, look for a job yourselves, call up Tarika, or spend some time upgrading?

Aldo, savvy as always, finds directions to the contact, one "Dr. Shazarad." It doesn't take long to find her tent. When the party arrives, Niva is outside already. "You know," she smirks, "I should have set the finish line as this tent, we'd have won. Still I'm good to my word since that's all we have out here. I haven't gone in. This time victory is yours." "This time...." She even holds open the tent flap. Inside is a lime-furred skittermander wearing surgical scrubs. Shazarad smokes a cigar as she examines a datapad. She looks up. “Heya, ‘nufriends,’” turning the familiar greeting into a growl. “You must have my organ delivery.” She waves a cred stick, "Here's your agreed upon payment." The readout on the cred stick matches. 20 Bp

While Hack-it has no remorse, the decision weighs heavily on all. Once word gets out, debates rage across all of Known Space. Pundits and pedestrians alike flood the Infosphere for years after. For those who think it was the wrong decision, the narrative eventually settles on "how are we any better?" For those who think it was the right decision it's, "But at least we're here to debate." While already famous, the events of the Sivv invasion turn your reputations black and white. No longer are you nuanced mortals, you're lessons and archetypes. But now you can go anywhere, any time, with no restrictions. Every port has friends.... and enemies. Per tradition, at the end of a campaign, I like to tie up the narrative. Once we each make a narrative post, I'll run the numbers and close the thread. So heroes, what does the future hold?

As the party collects themselves and catches their breath they converge on the statue. In place, it's a simple matter to enact the power of Cursebreaker. A massive nova of light rips through the room. It continues outward bringing with it a rumble and crack of magical thunder! Rushing outside quickly, the party sees the city of Kibwe. People emerge from hiding. Can it really be the case that The Slithering is gone? The next few days make it seem that the curse is gone. With the slithering gone, the Representative Council comes out of hiding and works with their constituents to restore order. Abayone makes it very clear to her fellow representatives and other dignitaries in the city that YOU were responsible for stopping the curse, which results in heartfelt thanks and tokens of appreciation being lauded upon you in the short term. In the longer term, you can expect employment offers from important people who know the heroes are capable troubleshooters. Kibwe will likely have a problem with oozes for quite some time, and its population is now more than a hundred humans fewer than it was a few short weeks ago. For a city of less than 4,000 people, this loss is noticeable and tragic. If the city is known for anything, though, it is for being a place where disparate people can come together in commerce and community—so Kibwe will survive. Again, because of you.... For Jack.

My work insanity is almost done. (I'm a Dean at a school, but we're moving buildings and it's the most ridiculous complex project I've ever been in.) Which means my posting will skyrocket starting Monday once classes resume. If someone was recording the effort, the party's work would be an instructional Vid on the sphere racking up millions of views in no time! Great! Now to calibrate the equipment. Easily doable with Mysticism, Physical Science, or suitable Profession check (such as electrician, lab technician, maintenance worker, or miner) to take initial readings and measurements to calibrate the equipment, filtering out ambient natural and extraplanar emissions. With some serious know-how you could try Computers or Engineering check to speed up the automated calibration settings.
