The vesk ponders it for a moment. Its either a trap or its not… He bangs a fist against his new armor and shows a lot of teeth. I volunteer to walk in first if is a trap.

Im not infront of a computer right now. I cant see the tabs. The only thing Kaz needs is some medpacks/healing serums. Im not sure how many creds he has to spend.
Kaz would also sell the plasma doshko, his old tactical doshko, and his old 2nd Skin light armor

Just before take off to head into what may or might be a trap, you're hailed. Chip hits the switch. A low-pitched, gravelly voice comes through the speakers. “This is for the FireStorm and her crew. Name’s Verran. I’ve heard you might’ve broken away from some big corporation and gone solo, that you might not be too concerned about the letter of the law. If that’s true, I have a proposition for you. I need some archaeological relics transported to Absalom Station, where a xenoarchaeologist friend of mine can verify my hunch that they’re ancient hobgoblin artifacts. If you’re interested, reply to this message—but either way, don’t mention it to anybody, yeah?”

Agreed. It did not sound as if Verran is in an emergent situation, and he may be willing to "wait in the queue"

The party opts to meet with Verran, with transparency that the delivery may be delayed.

Verran agrees, and will still pay handsomely (15 BP) for the delivery of the artifacts, which were "...stolen from the contested world of Sansorgis" Verran states that he "works in the interest of the Marixah Republic. If the relics are indeed hobgoblin in origin, the discovery would support the Gideron Authority’s claim to the planet. If, however, the artifacts originated from some other culture, the Marixah Republic would benefit instead. I'd like the job kept secret from law enforcement, and if the results don’t suit the political agenda of the Marixah Republic, I intend to bury the xenoarchaeology report so the Gideron Authority can’t make use of it."

He looks to see if you agree to the job.

The plan was to do the job after we found out what Tarika wants. Does that seem amenable to Verran? If he is not pleased with that arrangement, we may change plans and load up the firestorm.

In an instant Aldo gives the crew a quick look and judges whether to take the job or visit Tarika.

Either in slack or here, let me know what you all want to do. Load the cargo take the job or visit Tarika and decline the job? I lean towards loyalty and helping Tarika first, but Aldo is not good at turning down work. He doesn't want to say no to anyone.

Just before you make the Drift Jump, a cannon blast rips right past your port quarter! Turning to visuals, you see a pair of Sword Class Attack vessels flying Gridiron Authority colors.

A voice with a thick hobgoblin accent comes over the comms, "This is Captain Niko Haddan or the Gridiron Authority. Crew of the FireStorm, I order you to surrender and hand over the archaeological artifacts in your cargo hold."

Fight or let them board?

Sorry guys, that was a whirlwind of being too busy for my own good.
You have not installed smuggler's holds, so that option is out, but Angel is eager to try to bluff them (Since you're doing it via computers, I'll take a Computer's check.. Chip wants to size them up (Make a Piloting check if you wan to use your gut, or Scan them with Computers for me to give you their stats.

Chip is confident that the odds favor the FireStorm, but it won't be easy.

It's a moot point though, because Angel works some technological tomfoolery to EXCELLENT effect.

After a solid scan, the hobgoblin officer replies, "Very well. You're clear." The bluff pays off, earning the party 2,400 XP.

It feels good to be back on Absalom Station. Feeling a little bit of urgency, you cut quickly to meet with Tarika[/url].

In either case, you get a pit in your stomachs as you pass through an intersection crowded with working-class establishments: a pawn shop and payday lender, the 1 Credit Store (where everything costs only 1 credit), a locksmith, and the Noodles Between, a popular eating establishment run by sarcesians.

Everyone make a Perception check.

Maybe it's the smell of food, but Kaz mises the clues. The rest of the team picks up that you're being tailed. Before you can do anything though, unknown assailants draw weapons.

Thankfully, they don't catch you by surprise.

Angel wings another, while Chip's drone misses.

The two living move around the corner to get out of Kaz's charging lane, and continue to focus their fire, "Take the healer out, quick!"

As soon as Kaz hits black he immediately turns on his heel and rushes (not charges) back around the corner to bring electric death to white. His his highly keen nostrils detect the oil and ozone smell of his weapon. He thrusts it forward in a quick unexpected move.
