That was a fun game. I don't know what happened to Nate, the GM. Sadly, it seems that Tera never did get out of Foxglove Manor.
That said, she may be making an appearance here. After all, wasn't it one of the writers that said that one of the perks of writing the stuff is getting to insert you're own PCs as NPCs? :P

@Everyone: I'll be sending out PMs today and tomorrow to see if people are still interested in this game and let people know if they're missing anything. I'm going to be honest, y'all are not going to make this easy for me just based on what I've seen so far in skimming through everyone's submissions and what I've seen here in the thread. There's a lot of interesting characters and I wish I had all of the time and energy in the world to take everyone, but I've gotten to know my limits and I've been GMing PBP games long enough to know that I don't have the time nor energy to even make the attempt.
I think I have answered everyone's questions. If I missed yours, please repost it.
Recruitment closes on the 21st, but I am willing to extend that to the 23rd if people need more time.
Thanks to everyone who has expressed interest in this game and complimented me on my thoroughness. It's certainly a confidence boost. :)
That said, If you want a good idea about how things actually go when I run a game, here is the game where I'm running a group through Crypt of the Everflame. There was a lot of early turnover, but we seem to have a pretty stable group now.

Oh I just realized the fractional bonuses thing. I’ll definitely read up on that since I’ve never done a game with fractional bonuses, though idk if that would ever apply if Ano never multiclasses or not.
Works like normal if you don't multiclass. If you do, then it comes into play. I'm more than happy to help out if needed. While I typically let the computer do the work (yay HeroLab,) I can help with the math, assuming that I haven't forgotten how after taking Calculus III 15 years ago.

Ok good, I don’t have much plans to multiclass, if I do it’ll probably be a dip to get some feats, but that’s probably unlikely.

Ah, it's good to hear Nate may still be around. I wasn't in that particular RotRL run, but I'd applied and played in one of the several spinoff tables made up of characters that weren't taken for Nate's game.
It ran for around 8 years before ending recently, sadly not because we completed the campaign. Nate's modifications to the game were great, about the best mod conceptually that that I've seen. I always felt I owed him one for getting that ball rolling.

I have until next Wednesday to submit, correct?
I have the basic concept in mind but the details are getting to be a big stumbling block from a narrative perspective, namely: should this character specialize in one of the traditional Thassilonian schools of magic to try and emulate the wizards of old or be a Diviner or Universalist to show them thinking outside the old Thassilonian paradigm? Should they be of Shoanti descent for some cool thematic roleplaying ties and to play against the traditional Shoanti "type" by being a wizard? Would adding Changeling to that mix make the character too "mary sue-ish" or "main-character-syndrome?"
I feel if I can hammer out this part the rest of it should just fall into place...

Giant Halfling |

I have first drafts sketched out of a female musetouched aasimar bard and a male emberkin aasimar illusionist (who would dip cleric on his way to mystic theurge), both of whom are devout Shelynites with the Sandpoint Faithful campaign trait. I'm mulling over their backgrounds and trying to decide which one would be more fun to play, but in the meantime if anyone feels like either of those is stepping on their toes please feel free to voice your concerns- it may sway my decision making.
In the meantime, here's a writing sample so I can check that box on my application: I am the Arbiter of the Tower (and also Wulfric).
Edit: I also discovered that there's a cavalier order that seems to be designed specifically for Shelynites, so I have a half formed idea for a paladin with VMC cavalier that I could develop if it turns out that both of my current ideas are too close to previous pitches.

Slowdrifter |

Character work is going on in the background but in the mean time, here's a few RP samples:
An extract from one of my favourite scenes during which a fey borrows my character's eyes, inadvertently leading to a paladin and an Asmodean priest feeding meat to an adopted baby demonic centipede (not a tavern joke).
Various ruminations on family and what it means during an argument with a minor antagonist.
How not to make friends and influence people.
Some end of adventure wrap-up, which due to GM disappearance ended up being a reasonably fitting end post for the adventure.
And the player questionnaire:
1. What time zone are you in?
GMT (UK)
2. How long have you been playing TTRPGs?
Started with AD&D 2E back in about 1997, with most of my experience during the duration of 3/3.5E and then into Pathfinder, where I'm currently enjoying a renaissance after a lengthy hiatus.
3. What's your favorite part about playing TTRPGs?
The ability to tell stories cooperatively and create interesting characters and worlds. I enjoy worldbuilding outside of characters I'm playing (many years as a Forever GM). And cracking monster skulls is undeniably fun too.
4. What do you expect from this game?
I'm not sure about 'expect' as such, but I would ideally hope for something resembling the above. And fun - that's ultimately why we play.
5. What do you expect out of your fellow players?
Respect, kindness and giving people the benefit of the doubt (online communication can be prone to misunderstandings so I prefer to start with the idea that people are coming from a good place). From there, fun and engaging characters who want to play together.
6. What do you expect out of me?
Again, something resembling the above answers. Fairness, fun and respect might be a reasonable short answer.
7. (If you don't want this to be public, PM me the answer to this one and just note that you did so.) Beyond the obvious (generally stuff already prohibited by Paizo's forum rules,) what are your redlines? Are there any topics, themes, or imagery that you absolutely do not want to see in the game?
Nothing that immediately springs to mind but thanks for asking and being considerate of others.

"Willie" Whyte-Vetillus, Esq. |

@Everyone: I'll be sending out PMs today and tomorrow to see if people are still interested in this game and let people know if they're missing anything.
I see you've already updated Willie on your list of character submissions (you really are thorough!), but on this note of looming deadlines, I'll add that his profile has been brought up to date to account for a change of traits. There's also a very slight tweak to his background in light of his newfound relation to Sandpoint's Deverin family.
Congrats on a very successful recruitment, Salsa.

1. What time zone are you in?
PST (US) – Los Angeles
2. How long have you been playing TTRPGs?
I am really trying to remember when my older brother brought home the sacred blue book which was 1st Edition D&D (not to be confused with AD&D which we dove into later). I was probably about 10. So let’s say 30 years, and by that I mean, let’s SAY that even if the truth may be 40 years.
Or 45 years …
3. What's your favorite part about playing TTRPGs?
Role-Playing, both individual character exposition and within the party. The ability to tell stories together fascinates me to be honest. In my own writing, I have always wanted to try to use role-playing to create a collaborative comic book.
4. What do you expect from this game?
I want to re-connect with something timeless. I get that 10 years or so doesn’t quite make this the Ming Dynasty of Adventure Paths, but there was a LOT of ground broken here.
5. What do you expect out of your fellow players?
Thoughtfulness, kindness, respect, and above all, courtesy. Please do NOT speak to me like you would like to be spoken to: it is super likely we share zero common context for either of us to use that as a baseline. Please speak with me based on a super high level of courtesy & consideration closer to what you would use with strangers or in the workplace until you get to know me. It will make the process of learning each others styles a LOT smoother.
And be fun; I am all for character contention, but I generally think it is better when it is orchestrated OOC..
6. What do you expect out of me?
The above … with some benevolent deity qualities peppered in. That GG ended up with the reputation of being “the character killer” isn’t actually cool. That isn’t what TTRPGs should be about; life is adversarial enough, I don’t need that in my entertainment. For me, I’d also like to see some hand-waving peppered in to move things along, ‘cause let’s be real, PbP can be a beast. If there isn’t a benefit to waiting (and waiting and waiting) for a player roll or something, let’s get through it. The Rule of Cool needs to supersede some things sometimes also.
7. (If you don't want this to be public, PM me the answer to this one and just note that you did so.) Beyond the obvious (generally stuff already prohibited by Paizo's forum rules,) what are your redlines? Are there any topics, themes, or imagery that you absolutely do not want to see in the game?
In my own GMing, I have used the following as an “ice breaker” – sometimes it is really good to give people a starting point to help them express that they have some triggers or boundaries. If it’s okay, I will send you one of these.

Aletha Verkossian |

1. What time zone are you in?
Germany GMT+1
2. How long have you been playing TTRPGs?
20ish years
3. What's your favorite part about playing TTRPGs?
Laughter, play acting. I do like mechanics and combat, I dont particularly mind losing.
4. What do you expect from this game?
I think it has some very hilarious moments automatically written in.
5. What do you expect out of your fellow players?
Being different from me, this makes it more fun.
6. What do you expect out of me?
I GM myself, the big question, which I have no idea how to answer, is how to shake an adventure path up, while staying true to its core principles, and also how to fit player storylines and antics into the meta plot.
7. (If you don't want this to be public, PM me the answer to this one and just note that you did so.) Beyond the obvious (generally stuff already prohibited by Paizo's forum rules,) what are your redlines? Are there any topics, themes, or imagery that you absolutely do not want to see in the game?
Violence against children, although you can also use this as a berserk button.
8: Random notes:
--I reverse metagame when appropriate.
If a Roll nat ones on knowledge rolls, or like 10 or more beneath the DC, while recognicing something out of character, I will come up with a bad idea when fighting that partcular foe and my character will be convinced its a good idea.
Example: Party fights a Succubus. Bob the Bloodrager rolls a natural 1 on his knowledge planes.
Bob:ITS AN ERINYES! IT FLIES SHOOTS AND HAS UNHOLY BLIGHT AT WILL! I WILL MANFULLY GRAPPLE IT SO IT CANT DO THIS HIT AND RUN STUFF TO US!
GM:OH NO HE IS ON TO ME! I AM IN DANGER THe Succubus says with a 35 to bluff, as she delays her turn until after Bob.

Okay, starting to get some ideas. I'm thinking of making a spiritualist.
Just so I know the limits, what's the general vibe that you'd prefer? Would it be too much of a shift if I went whole hog designing a monstrous Fear phantom? Does the very prospect of a Lust phantom at a table with pick-ups make you reflexively cringe?
Also, how do you feel about the phantom possibly being one of the recent murders? I obviously don't know much about the plot details, but perhaps I we could work something out. Even give the phantom muddled memories so we could (re)discover the details in real time.

Alright, it seems like there’s a good number of arcane casters already, and at least one other bard, but I don’t see any characters geared towards healing and (maybe more importantly) status removal, so I’m going to submit someone for that. I’m thinking maybe a Sarenite pei-zin practitioner oracle (with a little fire magic), although their best status removal doesn’t kick in until 7th level, so maybe I might go with a merciful healer cleric or hospitaler paladin? I have tomorrow off so I’ll try to figure that out tonIght and I should be able to write everything up tomorrow.

Yeah, hp recovery is often overrated, by condition removal is clutch!
In theory, an urban bloodrager can get some condition removal, eventually, but its a massive investment.
I find spirit guide to be increibly flexible, you can use the wandering spirit feature (which costs you a revelation but hear me out) to take the lore spirit, and joink arcane enlightenment. Suddenly, you can cast wizard spells!
And you get to chose each day which! The combination is fantastically flexible, and imho well worth 3 revelations.

....hmmmm....might be my plan already....hehe!
I have been leary of taking any Healer spells, Abilities because she is not meant to become The Healer. I am currently playing 4 already.
That being said, I do plan on taking a few helpful Abilities for Secondary Healer role...lol.
I am seeing her as more Wizard than Cleric/Druid.
Hope that helps anyone's conceptual process.....
@ DM-Salsa I am not completely sold on Ferocious Loyalty Teamwork Feat. May I reserve the right to change it if selected to perhaps better fit the group? Or is that Meta? Hmmm...fine line probably and she is not trained in Acrobatics....tricky.

Aletha Verkossian |

In terms of plot related debuffs, plausible outsiders have an inbuild bonus of lets say +4 to convince Aletha they are her mother/father/fairy godparent.
Will come up rarely, but when it does it should be fun.
Aletha is varisian, and may well be a sandpoint native.
I havent quite decided, and that part is flexible.

Is it by any chance too late to add another trait and a drawback? felt like giving myself a little challenge by giving Ano a drawback
Slowdrifter is correct, and I'll give you plenty of warning before hand, too.
I'm going to try getting a gazetteer of Sandpoint up this weekend. I really should have done this before opening recruitment, but c'est la vie. I know that may alter some people's backgrounds, so I'll be closing recruitment to new applicants on the 21st at 10 PM CST (UTC-6, GMT-6) and closing it for completed submissions on the 23rd at 10 PM CST. I'll be making selections over the following weekend.

Giant Halfling |

lol- I spent the morning working up a cleric submission and then logged in to post it only to find that a previously proposed cleric has now been posted. I know some duplication is unavoidable but I really don’t feel great about posting another cleric now. I’m going to take one more stab at something completely different (and if I can’t I’ll officially submit my illusionist, since he’s probably the most distinct idea I’ve had).

While I hope that I get picked and everything, I will admit, I am kind of okay if I do not. For me, it is just kind of amazing to see that there is a thread which has garnered almost 250 posts in a 2 week period. WOW! If there was any doubt that there is interest, engagement and a desire to play the game, well, here it is. #FaithRestored

Much the same way here. While I am of course hoping for the chance to play at the table of a GM like GM-Salsa, I originally wrote up Zeldrith in the hopes of submitting him to a Return of the Runelords campaign - even if I don't get picked, I still come out of this recruitment with a medium-length Tolstoy novel a normal, sane amount written for his backstory, hopefully increasing his chances of getting into other campaigns.
