This conversation reminds me of people making nervous small talk in the waiting room at like a dentists office or traffic court while everyone else sits quietly (but also nervously) and listens in, lol.
that sounds about right.....
though doctor and dentist offices I've I've been at, no one small talks.....

Depends on where ya go. Most of it is true, but I've had stories traded to me at physical rehab last year (to make a long story short, f~$~ed up ankle since 6, got too bad to handle without medical care, ankle fusion)

I have no car right now, so I can't drive, but I love driving. Especially going on trips and whatnot. I couldn't imagine not being able to drive due to fears and anxieties though. I'm sorry some of you have to deal with that, since I've got anxieties that cause hell for me as well.
But I wouldn't mind running a RotRL game, but I'm currently working on a 2e conversion of it for a friend of mine (the Dice Based Events just hasn't sat well with me for some reason) and every time I attempted to run it on the boards, I barely get past halfway through the 1st book before people drop.

I agree. I've been driving for about 50 years and can't imagine not being able to do so. Anything from 2 wheels to 18 for fun or work! As for anxieties, I've had some. But I've found that perspective from being at death's door helps to release a lot of that.
I've gotten in to a lot of games on the board here. Most of them end due to ghosting, either by the GM or too many of the players. Very upsetting. I recently lost a friend that I used to play table-top games with. We met in 1979 at a game. She introduced me to my first wife. I forgave her for that and up until last year when she passed we played a lot. I'm a Marine and was on active duty so there were a couple of times that we were geographically apart, and the Internet really wasn't the thing it is today so our games went on hold. But once we got back together we picked things up like it was a weekend break. Needless to say, I don't understand when people ghost a game without a stated reason.
Good luck everybody and thanks for anyone picking up a second, or third game. And for the GM's that do, keep in touch with each other. If several players ghost maybe two games could merge into one and the GMs tag-team, letting them play and GM. ??

And one of the people there is a horror movie enthusiast, asking the other people there "Have you ever seen the 1996 slasher flick 'The Dentist'?"

To me that proves that more people need to run RotRL here. I might do so myself after I do a little training via We Be Goblins
Agreed, we need more GMs to run the Classic APs.
But once you start GMing which is very fun as I GMed on the boards for a good number of years,
you might end up becoming a Forever GM.....
as pretty much what happened to me.....
One thing I did helped get players and GMs happy and more games running is that those the say they will run a table, they automatically get selected as a player for the game, so ALL GMs get to be a player and more players get to play.

@DM-Salsa and @GM_Spazmodeus
Before the adventure really starts will there be a form of Session Zero for your games?
Or some Roleplay time to get into character or for the characters to get to know each other?
For me session 0 is character creation etc, so thanks to DM Salsa and you guys, that's already done!
The AP already has a great way to introduce the characters to each other through a shared threat, but when selected, I have no issue with any or all players deciding that there was a shared history in their backstories.
Just won't be RPing that part of the character's history, we're going to jump right in!
<taps foot impatiently, waiting for GM Salsa's decision...> ;D

While we're waiting, I noticed that Lithuanian was mapped to Varisian - I've found a number of Lithuanian folk songs, in case anyone's interested.
Už Ežero Ugnys Dega (Burning Fires Behind the Lake)
Saldus alutis avižų (What a Sweet Oat Beer)
Palšus ganiau jautelius (I Was Herding the Oxen)

Hey DM-Salsa, I wanted to drop in to the recruitment and welcome you back, it's good to see you running a game again.
I'd be applying but I just finished RotR with GM Euan so I thought it would only be fair to let others play :)
Again, good to see you back at it, you've got some great applicants. I hope whoever you select has a great game. Good luck and good gaming everyone.

The struggle is real fellas.
I've narrowed my selection down, but I still need to mull it over. On the plus side, I've got at least two picked.
@Robert Henry: Thanks for the kind words, though I may have a few too many good applicants. ;)
Pushes someone overboard!
One less to choose from!;)

Or, since I've GMed for a long while and seen it happen again and again.
pick a 7th, since there will be a high chance one or two will drop during the first book...which will make a party of five which should be usable and have a bit more of a buffer to player loss, or a player has RL priorities holding them up for a good while.
it'll also mean one less replacement recruitment in the far future....

On the other hand, too big of a party means less time in the spotlight for everyone, longer combats, extra work on the encounters and so on, which could actually cause more people to drop.

I thought of an idea to help speed it up selection, since we have two GMs making games.
I did it before when I ran a recruitment for a Falcon's Hollow Game and a GM wanted to poach players and run a game as well.
It was a fair way to go as we each made a list of characters and from top to bottom alternating lists, players were selected.
(since aiming for 6 players, lists should be 8-10 long)
if a player was found in both lists, it was the list they were closest to the top that they got in.
Or to reduce options on the list
Salsa picks 2 or 3 characters then Spazmodeus picks 2 or 3.
then Salsa again, followed by Spazmodeus picks again
repeat until both have their player count.

ah ... the Kickball Model from elementary school ... I guess I will start a consolation thread for the fat kids who are picked last

An interesting idea....but unfortunately you'll have to wait! :)
I'm waiting for GM Salsa to pick his prefered players first, then I will pick my victims...er...um...players from those that are left. It's only fair, since it's his recruitment.

And the wait is finally over!
Thank you all for your patience. This was not an easy decision, but I think I have an interesting bunch here that should make for a fun and entertaining game. Without further ado:
The Heroes of Sandpoint!
DeathQuaker - Dare Ashborn
John Gs - Cailyn Vanderale
Ollie-Twist - Lita Turandarok
Red Heat - Wilberforce "Willie" Whyte-Vetillus, Esq.
Ridge - OjWoj "Scrapknee" Viskalai
Ythiel - Conrad Mendelson
As I said, it was not easy and I probably could have spent another few days just trying different parties and thinking of different ways to weave everyone into the AP, but in the end, I'm only human. I think six players is about the most I can handle effectively.
Again, thank you everyone for making so many great characters. I wish I had the time to run enough tables for you all, but alas, I don't.

Ok....pressure's on!
Stay tuned for my selections...
FYI, GM Salsa has graciously accepted my invitation to play in my campaign, so I'll be picking 5 or 6 others to join him.
