Yeah, I would agree with that. Most of us are getting to level 3 now. Those that aren't will be shortly.

Dropping in a level 1 character would be challenging.

Plus, we all like Ashun as a character.

The remaster looks like it has all sorts of goodness for the witch. I am really looking forward to learning more about it.

I don't think there's anything I'd like to re-do in Ashun, I'm quite content with him as is... I'll have to check after the rework. Maybe change certain bonuses since I know a little bit more about crafting now.

But, for now
I think I'm gonna go with Crafting Expert and Magical Crafting for level 3.
I don't know which formulas to pick yet, but crafting a weighted self-heating blanky for this next adventure might be useful.

ok, I think I've leveled everything for Ashun?
For Magical Crafting, I went with Weapon Potency Rune +1, Feather Token (Holly Bush), 1st-level Scroll, Owlbear Claw.

Will probably try craft a bunch of talismans for everyone in the future.

You are only going to want a very limited number of Weapon Potency Runes.

You want something that you will be making multiple of. Have you considered Shining Ammunition?

It isn’t a huge deal since you can buy more formulas, just something to think about.

I think the idea is it is the because in PFS you can craft equipment for yourself (aside items you might lend to others). So while weapon potency runes are something nearly every character has, you might not craft more than one rune for yourself as opposed to consumables.

Also I do believe Crafting rules are changing as well in the new Core rules. From my reading the requirements for needing common formulas are reduced. I'm not sure if those rules will be implemented in PFS though.

PFS Remaster announcement.

From clarifications in the comments: You get one free rebuild for characters that already exist and have been played at least once before the street date of the Remaster. But each character only gets one free rebuild boon that has to cover both Core books. So my Swashbuckler is going to sit on the rebuild until Player Core 2 comes out.

We are still waiting for the final version of the PFS rules as well.

I expect crafting will become simpler. As I understand it, the new rules only require 2 days prep for crafting, 1 day if you have the formula.

I don’t have the Remaster books so I can’t verify what the actual rules will be.

I was just curious because that's a lot of damage, since the witch's familiar just "respawns" the next day.
Not many interesting 2nd level spells for Ashun. So I went with Warrior's Regret and Comprehend Language.

Not having your familiar means that you can't refocus. Depending on how important your focus points are that may or may not be a problem.

Whether exploding your familiar is evil or not is between you and your patron.

I really wish I had a fun focus spell, but I'm content with just the normal spells I have. So I don't have a use for focus points for now.

And I saw Final Sacrifice a couple of days ago, but only got curious about the evil trait now.
And given my headcanon (which Ashun doesn't know?), it would make my patron very very very grumpy. So I guess it is considered evil.

I know you can't exactly have a "minion army" because you can only have one minion at a time, but can I have like, 42 onyx dogs active?
I am not seeing anywhere I can't, but maybe there's a rule I don't know.

I mean, yeah, sure, even if you can only command one at a time, having a K9 battalion for 6 hours is going to slow down the session by a lot, but I'm curious.

So the actual limit is on the number of active pawns / tokens on the map for a battle.

This is done so that one player doesn’t flood the map with creatures.

Although someone could argue that the Onyx dog is a temporary creature, doing something like activating multiple of them is likely to be rejected by a GM as against the maximum number of pawns. For the specific case of Onyx Dog, the figurine stays around for six hours. That is going to be more than two encounters for most adventures.

Don’t do this.

Even if it is within the rules, doing so would eventually result in a change to the rules and likely some grumpy volunteers that have to figure out a way to reword it to cover this edge case. It is hard enough as it is to create clear and concise wording.

Does anyone already have the healer's tools or repair kit?

I know Branch was using healer's tools, but Branch isn't currently with us.


If no one has medicine trained, healer’s tools may not help much.

If no one is trained in Crafting, a repair kit will not help.

The list is very generic. Do not treat every item listed as required for the adventure.

Yeah, I am picking up the hatchet because it is 4 sp. Which is pretty trivial at this level.

If Ashun wants the repair kit generally, it would be good to get and you might as well get it now. I'm not going to pressure you into getting it though.
