@Tiger: I did take 2 points of damage from the electric arc. So I should be at 17/19. And not using shield currently - using parry when I have a weapon in hand.

Trying to craft Healing Potions for downtime
Crafting (Healing Potion - Minor): 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 1 = 16
double post. I'm sorry, I hate typing using my cellphone
Rinshu |
Ashen, it seems you don’t know how Crafting something during downtime works.
You must know the formula first. Then spend half the amount of money for the item to get the raw material and then the dice roll makes the process advances until it is finished depending on the item and its level.
Ashun |
I have to spend 2 gp to start crafting a minor healing potion, right?
And I do have the formula for it.
I have the formula for Healing Potion (Minor), Shielding Salve, Nectar of Purification and Ration Tonic because of my cauldron.
Corabee Cori |
Can't hero point downtime stuff. They don't last long enough. I did see that in the PFS guidelines.
I have to spend 2 gp to start crafting a minor healing potion, right?
2 gp to start, then up to 2 gp to finish. Finishing cost gets reduced by the downtime earn income amount.
At least, that is the standard rules for crafting things. I haven't done crafting in PFS though.
Ashun |
If I read everything correctly…
I make 2 SP progress per day on a success, which would mean I need at least 5 XP to craft a batch, correct? Since the first four days are preparations, and I need 10 days to craft the other 2 GP. Which leaves me with 1 day remaining... Right?
And I craft in batches, which means that I can get 6 healing potions for 4 GP? I think it's better to just pay up for now if that's the case
I also plan on getting the Crafter's Workshop boon from Envoy's Alliance in the future.
GM Hmm |
Tiger, would you be willing to put up a map for Cat's Cradle? It's the same desert map as the Sphinx map for Lions of Katapesh. I will happily keep to this thread of gameplay for my Cat's Cradle run.
GM Tiger |
Done. RPG Chronicles is also linked to the top of the page, my token and macros info also filled out.
Hero points also work out to 2 apiece. Rinshu has 1, Dar Lek has 2, and I have 3 glyphs.

No, this is happening before Pathfinder Trials, so that everyone gets to an even number of XP.

Welp, I think Cath has been offended that her drinking was interrupted...
GM Tiger |
I'll consider it a win if you can get to the docks and pacify the area you're in (kinda hard to affect a rescue when there's a riot around you!) :)
You could also go out the cave exit...

Just a heads up - for some reason I have difficulty reaching RPG Chronicles from home. I'll report the game and send out chronicles next week, but Q04 is done. :)

REPORTED
The game has been reported and chronicles emailed out. If you don't see your emailed chronicles please check your spam folder (thanks Google algorithms). Please mark it as not spam and whitelist RPGChronicles.net to help prevent this in the future.

Sorry, I was kinda a bit off because of some stuff, but it was very fun. The bar fight felt very chaotic. And I love me some chaos.
And sorry, question
Do I pay the 4 gp for crafting and add 6 potions of healing to my inventory?
Cath Gerbaine |
Alrighty, I'll be buying a meteor hammer, an elixir of life minor, and a healing potion minor.
10 gp spent!
Corabee Cori |
For my shopping, I'm thinking just picking up one of the Elixir of Life for 3 GP.
Cath Gerbaine |
I had put the weapons labeled STOWED AWAY onto Cath's supplied camel for now. Might be a tad uncomfortable to be walking about with that many weapons on one's body while traveling! Once we need to hoof it, I'll take what is needed from the camel.
Bun Helsing |
I'll drop an intro in a bit. I noticed the game started while in bed and it's kinda hard using a tablet to post :)
Bun Helsing |
I have a feeling our GM might like my post in the recruitment thread... :)
Ashun |
Oh. I can't have the 6 potions yet, since it costs 4 days to craft it and 1 exp only gives me 3 days.
edit: Nope. Miscalc. 60 days and 12 gp, don't have the money for it yet.
GM Hmm |
I'm going to be on an airplane most of the day, so posting will happen only while waiting in airports.
GM Hmm |
I was in California, visiting my Mother and Uncle who are in their eighties. Now I'm back, but everyone in my household got sick in the meantime. (Boo!)
But let's keep going, shall we?
Corabee Cori |
did I do this right?
I think it is a rather interesting idea. I haven't seen someone Ready Guidance before.
There are some people who will argue that you can't use Ready for 1-action activities such as spells (only 1-action simple actions), but I don't know if that is a common ruling or if PFS has an official ruling on that.
GM Hmm |

I believe you can ready any 1 action spell.
Cath Gerbaine |
Sorry about lack of posting, was dead tired and slept more than anticipated!
GM Tiger |
Heads up - long weekend where I am tomorrow. I'll be around but I might slow down a bit. :)
Corabee Cori |
Daze; will save; mental damage: 4 = 4
Hah. That's amusing. You could also use:
mental damage: 4d1 ⇒ (1, 1, 1, 1) = 4GM Hmm |
Hello, can someone who knows gunslingers help me unpack Dar Lek's abilities as a Pistolero with a Pepperbox?
Dar Lek draws and aims his pepperbox at Green before double tapping.
◆ Interact
◆ Fire
◆ Fire[dice=pepperbox]d20+9-0 [dice=piercing]d4+1
[dice=pepperbox]d20+9-5 [dice=piercing]d4+1EXTERMINATE!
Dar Lek, I don't know the Gunslinger class real well, but don't you have to interact between shots to strike a second time? I know there may be feats and/or items that I am missing here. Now only your first shot hits this time anyway, so I will proceed, but let's unpack your character, and make sure that I'm not missing things about it.
Ashun |
[...] items that I am missing here.
I suppose it is "Capacity 3" on the Pepperbox. If I read that right, he can take up to three shots without having to reload. But after each shot requires an interact action to reload. If that's not it, then I don't know :c
Dar Lek |
That's the way I see it as well. Three shot capacity and he's fired off two. Presumably, he can then fire one more before having to reload three times. I was considering getting a second pepperbox and have both preloaded.
Cath Gerbaine |
It's expensive, but seems worth it concerning action economy. Kinda cool to be honest!

My understanding of things:
Pepperbox has Capacity 3 - which means it can hold 3 shots, but after firing, it requires an action to switch to the next loaded chamber available.
◆Strike
◆Interact
◆Strike
Otherwise you are trying to fire an empty chamber.
Some other weapons have Repeating which would allow back-to-back Strike actions.
◆Strike
◆Strike
At least until you run out of ammunition in the special cartrige that it uses.
And Reload 0 weapons like Bows can do back-to-back Strike.
Also, looking at the actions posted, it looks like you aren't using Ten Paces, which gives you a permanent +2 to all initiative rolls and
◇Draw Firearm/Crossbow
◇Step up to 10 feet
at the start of each combat. Also, 'when you roll initiative' is the trigger - so you could do those two before the first block of combat even if your actual turn goes later in the order.

Oh, also - If you aren't using Ten Paces, you may not be fully aware of your reload ability either.
Raconteur's Reload will let you reload a firearm/crossbow or (since the changes in Treasure Vault) use the Interact action to switch chambers of your Pepperbox while at the same time doing either a Demoralize or Create a Diversion action.
So with your pepperbox in hand and loaded:
◆Strike
◆Raconteur's Reload (Demoralize check and switch chamber) or (Create a Diversion and switch chamber)
◆Strike
is completely valid.
