In case you have not guessed, Bitty is going to go Beastmaster at level 2, and I am planning by Level 5 to use the gnomish ability that will let her speak with all animals. So eventually Egg will be able to express his own opinions on things.

I am also torn about what Egg's name will be when he finally hatches. I was going to make it Bamidele, which means 'follow me home' in swahili (aka mwangi, the language of Bitisuru*'s home region). It would alliterate with Blue and be a nice sentiment.

But part of me thinks I should just keep the name Egg.

___________
* Bitisuru means daughter of happiness, and so is the real name that Bitty is a nickname for.

Eh. Do both. Its actual name can be Bamidele and you can call it Egg as a nickname. Which will of course make perfect sense to everyone who didn't play with the character at level 1.

Webserver error. I am guessing that either the url of the image it is using is wrong, or that the url is correct but the server is configured incorrectly.

The one for Horizon Hunters works, but the others are using an alt-text replacement on the image tag.

For instance, the url given for Envoy's Alliance in your name.

One thing that I wanted to check with you since you are new... Did you purchase the changeling boon for Ashun? Everyone starts with 80 Pathfinder ACP, so you can afford it, but I wanted to double-check that you knew how to purchase ACP boons for Organized Play.

For Example, here is Bitty's Chronicle Folder. In it, you can see that Chronicle 0A is her Geniekin boon.

Currently, the legal races to play in Organized play without a boon are the core races, leshies, kobolds and orcs. Everything else has an Achievement Point cost.

By the way, Rinshu, I was excited to see a Shisk in play. I did not write the Shisk, but I was one of the authors on Lost Omens Mwangi Expanse and just love that I got to work on that book. You're absolutely the first Shisk I've seen in Society Play.

Hmm

Yeah, I did. It was one of the first things someone on the PFS Discord recommended me to do.
I'm a hoarder, so I wish I could've kept them, but the desire for the concept/apperance won. It was either a night-hag changeling or a tiefling.

PFS is 'free to play'.

I think there is also a requirement to own at least the pdf versions of the rulebooks where ancestry and class choices are coming from. I'm not sure if that extends to equipment or not.

Question for those more experienced with PFS: how quickly does one earn the ACP currency? And you earn that for the player as a whole, not for a specific character, yes?

I also see XP being listed as a reward for completing adventures. Is that related to ACP?

Oh, I meant that a person from Discord told me to buy it since I was going to play one. Not that they recommended me to make one because of mechanical advantage.
I had the idea first, and didn't know I had to spend points on it, so they gave me a pointer. My bad.

I'm also not really bashing free to play. There are a lot of games that do it pretty well.

PFS for P2 looks like one of them - which is why I am willing to join. I'm just interested in the fine print.

Ah. XP and ACP!

ACP is a player reward. You get it via playing and GMing the game.

XP is how you level your character in PFS, with 12 XP being required to level. Bounties are worth 1 XP and 1 ACP each for players. In live play, they're approximately an hour worth of gaming.

Scenarios are longer adventures, running 4-5 hours live. They're worth 4XP and 4 ACP.

So you can level by playing 12 bounties or 3 Scenarios.

As for how fast you can earn ACP currency, that depends on whether you GM at all. A player might earn 80 ACP over the course of 20 scenarios (with some variations in the speed due to earning extra ACP at a Convention or other Paizo-sponsored event.)

A GM earns ACP at double the rate for the games they GM. Since I'm a pretty regular weekly GM in Organized Play, I get 80 ACP for every 10 games I GM -- it replenishes really fast for me.

It does mean that replenishing ACP can be agonizingly slow for players, but it does incentivize GMs, which helps games happen. I like that Tiger will be earning an extra ACP for providing us this little adventure.

And yes, you should own copies of the books you use, whether in PDF or not.

One thing that I also like is that there are some really diverse options for players that don't cost ACP. The core rulebook races have some really fun options, as do kobolds and leshies. There's a lot of character concepts that don't cost ACP at all.

Exactly. While it is like a 'free to play' game, it isn't 'pay to win'. You can spend ACP to get fun options, but the most mechanically powerful stuff and a ton of fun stuff is available up front.

Also it doesn't come across as a money sink like a lot of free to play games are. I don't think there is any way to pay money to get ACP. You pay for your ACP in time only.

Next boon question.

Looking through the boon purchase page it looks like most boons are tied to a particular character once they are bought.

So if I wanted to buy Catfolk ancestry, that would be for one new character. Then if I wanted to play another Catfolk character I would need to buy the ancestry boon for that character too. Yes?

There isn't but as Bitty says, you get double the ACP for GMing, and there is also a bonus for playing/GMing at conventions. This is why I have two sprites, a unicorn poppet, two planar scions, one undine and other high ACP cost PCs in PFS2e. I also occasionally go through the boons and purchase those that are useful. I'm considering an undine water kineticist for my next PC ((Sailor Mercury anyone?)) and I'm already pumping GM credits on that number.

The Android boon for this PC actually came from Starfinder. There are some boons that allow you to play an ancestry in the other system.

And now they have introduced 'replay points' that's another reason to accumulate ACP.

And yes, when you purchase a boon, you purchase it for a particular character and it stays with that character. So yes, you would need to purchase a second Catfolk boon for the second Catfolk character.

I've had a request to continue with 2 more repeatables. I'm going with:

Bounty 16 - Boom Town Betrayal
Quest #4 - Port Peril Pub Crawl

Is everyone ok with that? Also if you're still not tired of me by then, I was going to suggest a little fun scenario:

04-01 - Intro: Year of Boundless Wonder

Not entirely. There is a set of 3 (Core Rulebook, Bestiary 1, Lost Omens World Guide [I think]) that will allow you to play w/out owning. Well, if you don't own any of the books, you're limited to the content in the 3 books above. Anything beyond that, yes, you are required to own the books unless you're part of a regular gaming group, in which case one person (usually the GM) has to own the material.

That's another level 1 repeatable Bounty(+1xp), a level 1-4 repeatable Quest(+1xp) followed by a 1-4 repeatable scenario(+4xp), and Dar Lek would be open for all of those - which would leave him at +15xp after all of that. So he'll need another +1 to get his xp to a multiple of 4.

Another thing I noticed in my binge reading last night is that a character can only be in one scenario at a time - even in a PBP format. Probably to prevent strangeness of conflicting outcomes and trying to merge two slightly different characters back together after the adventures end.

So that list of additional scenarios are invites for us to continue playing together after this current scenario finishes, yes?

A proper Dalek would need the automaton background instead of android. I'm fairly sure they would be SRO's in Starfinder. However, I wasn't satisfied with the result, just didn't seem to work right. I suppose Cybermen could be androids but, again, I wasn't sure how that would work either.

I use chronomancy for that. If something happened earlier and I want to respond to it, I just quote a little bit of context and post the response anyway.

We were doing that at the start of the game with the two separate timelines in parallel: The initial group meeting, and the entrance to the caverns.
