This is the first time I play an evil character in a non-evil-only party. I must say it's quite fun, no backstabbing your partymembers. Still looking for an opportunity to show his evilness (beside his evil mood).

Well, I was going to say, instead of being an evil guy pretending to be a goody goody douchebag, I could just make him an actual pld and actually be a goody goody douchebag. But I can't team up with evil guys then. :)

Ah, good ol' lawful stupid. Reminds me of a character I played back during AD and D. I wanted to play a pally, but that was when it was like straight 3d6 per abiilty score, and you needed preposterous scores to be a paladin.

So enter Blaine Goodheart. The 6 int fighter who was so stupid he didn't even realize he wasn't a paladin. Poor guy.

Aha! I got it! Oath Against Undeath removes his ability to detect evil. I just drop his int and wis lower, raise his physical stats a bit, and just make him too dumb to realize the evil party members are evil.

Problem solved. I'll update today or tomorrow.

However you'd like to re-work him would be fine.

Remember that he only go a brief amount of screen time, and the entire "bad guy pretending (badly) to be good" thing might have just been his gladiator persona. In "real life" he might be a perfectly nice guy.

i think im going to play him as more like the tick / don quixote, and less like gilderoy lockheart. :)

I was waiting for the others to post the rounds actions. I realize now that I never checked Joboo off the map counter though. Havent heard from some people in 2 weeks or so.

Id bet that youd be more help than hindrance. We need several people to push the rods around and raise the floors while the others figure out the idol trap.

I feel like Joboo has a good handle on how everything works, but there may be some folks that are confused, either in or out of character.

Some question/answer role-play may be in order.

loric is dumb and has terrible perception. i was waiting for a little direction, and ryujin provided it. :)

Loric, it doesn't quite look/work the way you think it does. That might be my fault.

Just in case anyone else is confused about the layout, here's what has been revealed so far-

Imagine looking at a Screw with three nuts on it. Those nuts are slowly rotating down (those are the three floors)

There are six rods coming in from the sides. These rods could be used to block the floors from falling to far, or to brace against, giving someone a point of leverage to walk the opposite direction of the rotations and raise the floors (think like the Great Wheel at the beginning of the old Conan, except Arnie's staying in one place and the floor is moving beneath his feet)

If three (or more) people can raise the floors up enough, a few others could try to figure out how to retrieve the idol.

Oh ok. So assuming lefty/loosey righty/tighty holds, the floor i am on should be rotating clockwise as it slowly moves down to crush the people on "floor 2". So if i stand "down turn", so to speak, and grab the bar, Loric can walk counterclockwise, pushing up against the bar, almost like a treadmill and try to slow down or reverse the turn?

If I have that right, he will do so, and I'll also probably suggest to GWWWR to do the same thing on the next floor down. :)

You have it right.

There's a matter of a Strenght check (DC15) to move the floor, and what you're wearing on your feet. There's a *lot* of caltrops on the ground.

Ok, I have an idea taht will speed things up.

Combat rounds were primarily a means of tracking time and rates of descent. That's practically a moot point now. The bottom is as low as it can go and you've discovered the means of raising and lowering the platforms.

Let's break out of combat rounds and do the rest as a more free-form scene.
