One of the fun challenges to RPGs comes with occasional bad luck (in the form of rolls that result in extra bad circumstances) that force a PC and/or the team to deal with it.
Assuming we have down time to make repairs, the GG rig should be back up and running for future mayhem.
DM ShadowBloodmoon
Repairs and reloads are free back at base. You guys aren't playing mercenaries. The Legion has your back. As soon as you make it back to base...
Terry Jamieson
So the GG and driver are going to be in the body and fender shop for a bit.
it all works out, runs of bad luck, can be tied up with runs of good luck.
I normally have really crappy rolls, so getting at least average is good enough for me for the most part. :)

Is the use of +++ [words] +++ a way of indicating words coming over the comm link? If so, I'll start using them as well for clarity.

Feeling a bit better from when I buggered up my back again. :(
Got to love doctor prescribed morphine, and bed rest for 3 days.
Give me a bit of time, and I will get caught up and posting again.

Another late afternoon thunderstorm; another night without power. Still waiting for power to be restored. I will post after that. Sorry for the delay.

Well let go from. My job for "Sleeping" when it was a diabetic event

Just noticed someone with an ongoing SW Deadlands campaign is recruiting for some new players. Recruitment link as of July 23. Seems it might still be open.

I said in my post that I wasn't sure if darkvision would help in a snowstorm, but I just read about a flight to an Antarctic station in the dark to rescue some researchers with a medical emergency, and the pilot used night vision goggles, so I guess they can help.
DM ShadowBloodmoon
They can help, I would say they can offset the penalties to vision by a small amount. The light refracting off the snow and amplified by the NVGs would make your vision seem blurry. Still better than nothing in the dark!
DM ShadowBloodmoon
No worries, Terry, I work at a school, so I usually post more from there too.
Bart, enjoy the beach, we will bot if needed.
Terry Jamieson
Sorry, been gone for Jury selection.
I guess my quote of hang the guilty bastard wasn't what they were looking for in an impartial juror. :)
Actually, it was because I could not speak french that they turned me away.

Savage Worlds Fans: There is a recruitment going on for a SW game, in case anyone is interested.

This is the first time a PC of mine has encountered a ley line. Other than some initial mental static, is there anything a psionics PC can do with the ley line if they're not a Ley Line Walker?

Announcement from Paizo: It looks like the plan is for Paizo.com to go down at 8 a.m. Pacific on Monday, November 3rd, and the site will likely remain down for a few days.

The Savage Rifts Sourcebooks has this about Ley Lines.
ARCANE EFFECTS
Ley Lines: When activated on a ley line, double the Range and Duration of psychic or magic powers. Attack powers (such as blast, bolt, burst, and damage field) deal +2 damage, and defensive powers (such as barrier, entangle, and protection) gain +1 Toughness. Magic users double the PPE regained while resting on a ley line.
Nexus Points: When activated at a nexus point, triple the Range and Duration of psychic or magic powers. Attack powers deal +4 damage, and defensive powers gain +2 points of Toughness. Magic users triple the PPE regained while resting in the area of
a nexus point. Ley line nexuses seethe with eldritch energy. Being within one mile of a nexus point—but not on it—has the effect of being on a ley line.
Dynamic Backlash: Psychics and magic users are subject to Dynamic Backlash in areas affected by ley line energy, see Setting
Rules in Savage Worlds.
Magic Rituals: The most powerful magics are designed to access the flow of arcane energies available at areas of ley line power—often multiplied at times of cosmic significance—harnessing them for greater mystical effects as listed below.
We know there is a ley line present. Sounds like it could even be a Nexus point.
Maybe Ounce's divination can shed some info on the situation.

Thanks for posting that. Basically everything is souped up, for you and for the bad guys. There is no nexus here, but the one a few hundred miles from here is too far away to affect the area.

Sorry for my delay in posting, but one of our cats passed away and it's been a tough few days. I'm going to be posting as soon as I can catch up on what has happened. Thanks for your patience.
DM ShadowBloodmoon
Our condolences for your loss. That is always hard to deal with. We will be here when you are ready.
Ounce Felicitas
I'm sorry to say I'm going to withdraw from this game. I'm a bit overextended in PBP and I haven't really gotten into this adventure. Please use my characters as NPCs if helpful, as I don't want to leave you without whatever Ounce and Gummitch can provide. Thanks for including me and sorry again for leaving in the middle of a scene.
DM ShadowBloodmoon
Unfortunate to hear, but understandable. We wish you well in your future adventures.
Barbara Lance
While it looks like we're going to try to find a way to include the Glitter Girl in this scene, I want to reiterate that I went into this character knowing that there will be times when a ten-foot power armored suit with a giant artillery cannon is just not appropriate to the scene, and this is a built in part of the character. So don't worry if we come up with plans (here or elsewhere) that require Barbara to hang back, sit them out, or come in without the armor: this is one of the challenges of playing a Glitter armor pilot, and it's one that I knowingly signed up for.
Terry Jamieson
Understood Barbara, but if we can work it so you don't have to risk your armour being stolen, then why risk it. :)
If we have not been able to figure an idea, we will probably take you up on the dismount role.
