Honestly what I did is going to be done for this battle only. I realized I misread how block initiative works. I'm still newish to DMing so bare with me as I learn the process.

EDIT: In all honesty I can actually forfeit the average for you all and recontextualize the Initiative order once the current turn is over

If it's just this time averages will be used, that's all fine don't worry about it. It wouldn't have mattered in this case anyway due to the low roll for Prax. But over time it would add up and make a big difference.

I've always been a fan of minor debuffs such as dazzled. Mostly because they stack, but also because HOW such effects come to be are often obscure, charming little abilities.

Map (Old Fishery)

imo support roles in Pathfinder (at least in 1E) are underrated; sure it’s less of a thrill to debuff enemies than take them out, but you can make taking enemies out easier for your team

in my IRL RotRL campaign, our titular support role is a kobold time oracle, and she can cripple opponents in a way I had no idea oracles could do.

CG F Aasimar Shaman of Heavens 1 | HP 10/10 | AC: 16 (10 tch, 16 ff) | CMB -1, CMD +9 | Fort +3, Ref 0, Will +6 | Init +4 | Perc +11, SM +10 | Stardust 3/6 | Effects:

Oh yeah, having a debuffer on the team makes the DPS crew’s life so much easier. It’s going to take a couple levels for Amadine’s abilities to really come online, but I hope I can meet your expectations!

I've been a fan of any intimidate build that can stack debuffs since 3.5 when I found out you could make an interesting combo of knight and hexblade.

Improved familiar and practiced spellcaster would let you hit 5/5 on base attack and caster level at fifth level. Knight would give you d12 hit dice, knight's challenge, and mounted combat by taking two levels.

You then take intimidating strike, and later on a feat that would let you also sicken on a power attack.

The point of it all? Shaken, sickened, gives the enemy -4 to saves and opposed rolls. Then you use your hex and likely land it due to that. Making it -6 to each.

THEN your worg makes it's bite, and in 3.5 trip was opposed rolls. So enjoy that -6 vs the trip. Fun fact: Knight's vows meant they couldn't hit a prone target. Their mount though... not so much.

"I'm not attacking you. Mr. Snuggles just has a mind of his own."

I love playing support characters! ^_^
Though sometimes, I like a little hack and slash, too. That's how Romli, the unchained Monk came into existance. B-)

To whom it may concern wrote:

Romli's roles - and other (future) abilities:

I believe the main party role of Romli as a uMonk is melee damage dealer.
But thanks to his crane style feat - and with a little help from a friendly arcane caster with access to (a wand of) mage armor - he can also act as a tank.

In addition, his planned cleric dip at level 2 not only ensures that he has more and better melee options (thanks to the Growth subdomain he can grow large all by himself to enjoy reach, AoOs and bigger damage dice), he becomes a backup healer, too - and he also gains a few support abilities.
Have a look at the Ecclesitheurge's Blessing of the Faithful (in Romli's case it provides a profane bonus ^_^) and the ability of the Memory subdomain. Both can be very helpful in- and outside of combat.
Oh, and he will be able to prepare guidance, too. ;-)

Sorry. I got sick too. Should be back to normal posting now

Map (Old Fishery)

Lot of people getting sick. Tis the season.

Also, I didn't expect that Intimidate check to scare the kids to be that high. That's why I'm calling for a cumulative Diplomacy check-if anyone wants to make that roll, they can automatically roll with Diplomacy or Charisma modifiers (whichever is highest) on anyone who wants to assist. Just state you want to assist for those who want to.

This should make it easier because I absolutely don't want you fighting kids, but it is part of the AP. Thankfully knocking out Bloo will make it easier...in fact, mentioning that Bloo is knocked out will grant a +4 to the Diplomacy roll.

I’ll allow a reroll with the mod. Let’s say if your next roll is lower you can choose the previous roll and add +4

I may be slow to post for the next week or so. I work for the Oregon Department of Human Services and we're right on the edge of a catastrophe if SNAP benefits aren't issued for November.

We've been all hands on deck and overtime trying to figure out contingencies to cover the potential losses however we can. Hopefully it won't come to that, but if it does there are some very rough days coming.

I will bot if I have to. As someone who relied on SNAP and had a massive anxiety attack over losing it this month, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for trying to make sure people don’t go without food.

Note I don’t live in the same state as you but the sentiment remains the same.

And sorry to hear you’ve been affected by the shutdown as well Divo.

There was a slight sputter, but a glob of acid shoots out towards the goblin!

I thought to use a wand one must make a UMD check with a DC of 20? (Link to the UMD skill, see table)

Also, there are actual rules for handling a miss with a thrown splash weapon. The game designers really thought of (nearly) everything! ;-)

Throw Splash Weapon wrote:
If you miss the target (whether aiming at a creature or a grid intersection), roll 1d8. This determines the misdirection of the throw, with 1 falling short (off-target in a straight line toward the thrower), and 2 through 8 rotating around the target creature or grid intersection in a clockwise direction. Then, count a number of squares in the indicated direction equal to the range increment of the throw. After you determine where the weapon landed, it deals splash damage to all creatures in that square and in all adjacent squares. (Source)

@GM: I'm just trying to be helpful (save you time looking up rules). I do not intend to be a smart-ass - hopefully, I don't come across as such...

Map (Old Fishery)

…hold up, you may be right. I read the book that he needs to get a 12, and I thought he needed to beat a UMD DC of 12, not roll a 12 or higher. I’ll retcon the event that happened

Yeah, UMD should really be written more simply than it is. It has all kinds of exceptions based on class spells and the ability to cast spells. It should just be a universal skill for simplicity sake.

@GM KoolKobold:
Uh... sorry to be that guy again, but Romli has currently AC 20 T 19 FF 14 (because he is fighting defensively) as I wrote in his last post in Gameplay HERE. That should mean that Gobblegut's bite has missed him.

I did not adjust the status in his profile as his AC will go up and down from round to round, depending on which spells/feats/class features are active in that round (even more in the near future after he has learned to swift action enlarge himself multiple times for just 1 round).

However, if you want me to, I can do it from now on. Please let me know.

I am completely sorry, I forgot that part. Plus, being at a high place would have given you an additional 2 to AC, so next time the gator attacks someone I’ll just take -2 to the attack roll. Let me retcon the gator’s attack.

Please forgive me, I’m still new to PbP DMing.

Don't worry, there's nothing to forgive. Being a DM in this format has its own challenges. There are a lot of moving parts, but combat is slow... and one can only try to keep everything relevant in mind.

Everyone makes mistakes! E.g. in my latest post in gameplay I forgot to actually include the -2 penalty for fighting defensively in the attack roll. (Fortunately, it did not matter.)

Here's a proposal to save everyone at this table time and energy:

1) You continue to DM without asking for forgiveness for every mistake that's bound to happen and simply correct anything that needs to be corrected.
2) We will point out anything that we believe is a mistake.
3) No one will get mad because of that.
Deal?
:-)
