Luck\
So those of you with a positive luck modifier. you camy modifty any dice roll by a +1 or -1 per point you have of luck modifyer they rejuvinate via specail potions, a percentage role after resting, or when you level.
This can be an after effect for instance say you fail that save by 1. you can decide to lower it one point to make it. Really need that +1 ro hit a monster you can use it to bump up your roll.

"Thank you," Kouji offers a bow, turns and departs the waiting area heading down the hall. Reaching the door his hand hovers over the door knob for a second ... A goddess? And perhaps a second chance? Here goes nothing... he thought to himself as he turned the knob and opened the door.
The overwhelming smell of peach blossoms assualted your nose as you opened the door to what looked like part time office part time greenhouse. Flowers grew from pots that lined the walls, almost all of them had miniture peach trees, Several of the peach tress has an almot impossibly large full size peach growing from it. A single chair sat in front of the desk and a small metal basket with the word application here sat on the desk.
A gentle warm breeze rushed out of the room a shower of peach flower petals following ruffling your hair, where it came from was impossible to tell.

Accepting the interesting, but mostly practical assortment of gear, Myryna expresses her thanks. "What...do I do now?"
"ANY QUESTIONS? ABOUT YOUR MISSION? ABOUT LIFE? ABOUT WHY CEREAL IS THE SUPPIORER FOOD GROUP?"
Queen Cruncha yelled ... or maybe it was spoke out loud, perhaps she just had one of those voices? Her short little arms wavered up and down rapidly in excitement.

thanks for having me! I have a short backstory prepared but I haven't made an alias yet. the roll I got for death was: Trampled by black Friday shoppers and the god roll was for: Meh'Thulu
** spoiler omitted **
You were being crushed under the throng people running for the three tv's that were super discounted. there was no way everyone would get one why are they.....It faded to black.
You suddenly came too sitting in an cheap plastic seat in some sort of waiting room. A strange thin looking woman with long pointed ears and dusky skin was being directed down a hallway but an older woman behind a desk. It was like a doctors waiting room, or the DMV. There was a sign at the desk that read "take a number" But as you reached for it the woman behind the desk cleared her throat.
"Don't worry about it honey, I know who summoned you, the wait will be longer than forever before he's ready, if he hasnt forgotten already Take this clipboard, fill it out and I'll send you back"
She reached down and click a key speaking into a microphone.
"Meh'thulu to your office, Meh'thulu to your office."
It rang out very loudly.

Eliot blinked at the sudden change of scenery, eyes moving slowly over the sterile waiting room. The lights hummed, the air felt recycled, and the chairs were the same kind of cheap plastic he’d seen in every breakroom since high school. He rubbed his chest absently, half-expecting a footprint.
When the clerk spoke, he just nodded once and accepted the clipboard. No questions. No surprise. It wasn’t the weirdest thing that had happened to him this week, technically.
He sat down, the chair creaking under him, and started filling out the form.
Name: Eliot Grange.
Age: 30.
Cause of Death: He hesitated, then wrote, Trampled by Black Friday shoppers.
His handwriting was neat but small, like someone trying not to waste ink.
Then came the next lines — Race (New) and Class Preference. He stared at them for a while, clicking the pen a few times. The words blurred together the longer he looked.
After a moment, he shrugged, left them blank, and scrawled his name at the bottom instead. Standing, he handed the clipboard back without fanfare.
“If it matters, just… surprise me,” he said flatly. “You probably know better than I do.”
Then he went back to his seat, leaned back, and exhaled through his nose, eyes fixed on the flickering light above.
“Figures,” he muttered. “Even death comes with paperwork.”

Can I ask who or what is Mildred?
SO mildred is an NPC whipped up suddenly because of Mr. McCoys backstory.... and he asked his god to make sure she uh.. was taken care of from her abusive husband. So his god arranged a car wreck and her brought here. She desired to be anything but the nousy timid scared girl she was and was made into a Dusk Elf, think drow but less evil, demon based and cave dwelling. Dusk elves hail from a frozen Jungle to the north of where you all will be starting. You will run into her often, though dhr isnt an "adventuring? Sort of NPC.
| Joseph T. McCoy |
Mildred is an NPC who is part of McCoy's backstory. She was abused by her husband, and McCoy died before he could do the right thing to act as a witness on her behalf (Damned Sushi). So McCoy made a deal with his god and got her free of the jerk, apparently she's Isekaied too as a type of elf (Local Lore 13 or better would tell you what type). I don't think she's meant to be part of the party but suffice to say McCoy is glad she's safely reborn.
EDIT: Ah, our GM answered before I did :) NVM this.

The older woman behind the desk takes your form and the words "monk" and "half elf(wood) appeared on the form. Agnes smiled and handed you a tokem,
"Stop by the vending machine. you may have a wait even if Meh'thulu is there. dont resistate to remind him of the relic issue."
She offered pointing out the vending machine.
The vending machine looked old, a light sheen of dust covered the buttons. the coin slot beckoned for the token she handed you. inside the machine was ------
A bag of crisps(potato chips) called Cartharsis crunch!
A canned mocha with the Melancholy name brand
a canned soda called "Dramaliths Dreamy draught... cream flavored!!!
An oat bar - "The revoluntinary Overeaction Oat bar!
A tin container of mints it appears open and only one mint remains inside, Its label reads "passive-aggresive flavor!
a Bag of gummies = fainting fruit gummies
Another can it looks pretentious - it reads "Tears of unread poetry"
A plastic wrapped scone - labeled "scandalous"
another bag of crisps (rice chips!) - "labeled Velvet Curtain brand.. they are sour cream flavored
a plastic bottle thats almost translucent - Ghosted grape juice!
its seems your token gives you one choice.

Eliot squinted at the vending machine’s offerings, hands in his pockets. The names were all trying far too hard to mean something. Catharsis Crunch, Tears of Unread Poetry, Revolutionary Oat Bar, each one screamed “symbolism” in twelve-point italics. His gaze settled on the half-empty tin of mints labeled Passive-Aggressive Flavor. Only one remained.
“Yeah,” he muttered, “that tracks.”
He fed the token into the slot. The machine clunked once, groaned like it regretted being awake, and dropped the tin with a hollow rattle. He crouched, picked it up, and popped it open. The lone mint sat inside, pale and perfect, like it had been waiting just for him.
He held it between two fingers, considering. “You and me both, huh?” he said softly, then shrugged and let it dissolve on his tongue. The taste was… fine. Not good, not bad—just there. Exactly enough to remind him he could still taste things.

He swallowed, waiting for the aftertaste, and instead felt something settle behind his eyes, like the quiet hum of a thought he hadn’t had yet.
“...Huh.”
The air around him seemed to shimmer for half a second; the flickering light of the waiting room steadied itself, as if trying to impress him. Somewhere deep in his head, he suddenly knew exactly how to talk someone into anything, and more dangerously, how to make them think it was their own idea.
Eliot frowned. “Great,” he muttered. “I eat one mint and now I’m emotionally persuasive. Guess that’s one way to freshen up.”
He pocketed the empty tin, half-expecting it to whisper something profound. It didn’t. Of course it didn’t.
That was when he noticed the hallway. At the far end, a door pulsed with light like a special-effects budget gone rogue, colors melting into one another with cosmic enthusiasm.
Eliot sighed. “Of course it glows. Why wouldn’t it glow?”
He brushed off his hands, squared his shoulders, and started walking. “Fine. Let’s meet destiny. Hopefully it’s got a chair.”

The room itself once entered looked like one was floating in space. the effect was quite amazing and well intimidating. A giant yellow eye suddenly appeared taking up all of the far wall. After several long moments the eye began to shrink and a humanoid person who was very squidlike was sitting there in front of you. he yawned... blinked a few times and finally said.

"My champion! It is so good to see you!"
The most beautiful maiden you had even saw said her voice high and bubbly. She reached over plucked the largest peach you have even seen from a small tree and handed it to you. the light brusing of her fingers on yours made your whole hand tingle with warmth.
"I hate that I have calleed you hear on the most dire of tides. The World of Melvaun is dying and will be destroyed if we dont save it. Due to Cosmic rules myself and the other gods can do nothing to stop it.... unless out champion proxies can acquire our sacred relics! This is where you come in you see."
She took your clipboard and read over it her cute nose wrinkling for a moment then slightly nodding at another.
"Everything looks good any questions so far?"

Eliot gave a small nod. “Hi. You’re, uh, bigger than I expected. Well, at first. Then smaller. Bit of a rollercoaster there.”
He shifted his weight, looking around the endless space as though half-expecting a receptionist’s desk to reappear. “I assume this is the part where I thank you for the afterlife orientation package?”
He rubbed the back of his neck, tone calm and conversational. “So… yeah. Got trampled to death. You pulled me out of the pile. Appreciate it, I guess. Can’t imagine I was top of your list.”
A pause. The godlike being stared. Eliot nodded to fill the silence.
“Anyway, big fan of the whole ‘void’ aesthetic. Very minimalist. Really captures the indifference of the cosmos.”

"Theres a problem on the planet Melvaun... its dying."
He said in a tone that made it sound like he was talking about a paper written in 1932 about potatoes...
"I wouldnt care but...."
There was a very long pause. if he wasnt sitting there blinking directly at you one would think he had fallen asleep.
"Cosmic mandates state as a god of the realm i must care."
The stars in the sky began two swirl as if you were rushing through them... finally the dizzying array of light stopped over a small planet that was a mix of blues and a yellow brown. There were patches of green here and the top and bottom of the world held snow much like earth.
"Each god has a relic needed to renew the balance of the world. they are somehow missing they must be found before the world rips itself apart."
There was a long silence...
Eliot Grange
|
Eliot rubbed his temples. “So the planet’s dying, the relics are gone, and the universe is about to tear itself in half.”
He gave a slow nod. “Yeah, that sounds important. Definitely sounds like something someone should handle.”
He glanced back up at the god. “But, just so we’re clear, that someone isn’t me, right? Because I’m pretty sure my last job was resetting passwords.”
Eliot Grange

Eliot blinked once, letting the number hang in the air.
“One thousand one hundred and twelve out of one thousand one hundred and seventy-three,” he repeated flatly. “Wow. Cosmic mediocrity. Really leaning into the theme.”
He crossed his arms, looking at the god who somehow managed to both exist in all directions and slouch at the same time.
“So let me get this straight, you’ve got a bunch of gods picking out their own world-saving dream teams, and I’m… your pick from the discount bin?”
He gave a small, thoughtful nod. “That... actually tracks.”
His gaze shifted toward the planet hanging below them, still turning lazily through the void. “So what’s the plan here? You toss me down there, I wander around until I accidentally trip over one of these relics, and somehow that keeps the universe from imploding?”
He paused, rubbing at his jaw. “Do I at least get powers or items? Maybe a pamphlet or something? I’d hate to save a planet without the proper documentation.”
A beat passed. Eliot shrugged. “Anyway, fine. I’ll do it. But for the record, if this turns out to be unpaid divine labor, I’m unionizing.”
| DM The nines |
"Well you or the party.... im not sure who the others have chosen. you will do... adequately. Lets see here.... "
He appaeard to be rummaging through a bag that was invisiable he pulled out all sorts of randome things.... a tonfa, one sai. a tiger fork, eight throwing daggers, a set of climbing claws, rope (50 ft) a grappling hook, a water skin, a backpack, a bedroll, a metal pan. some chalk and a belt pouch that held 55 gold.
At teh last moment he produced both a pamphlet and a map.
"That should be everything yes?"

Eliot stood over the assortment of gear like someone inspecting a garage sale at the end of the day. “That’s quite the collection. Functional, confusing, and slightly sticky. Love it.”
He glanced back at Meh’Thulu. “So, not to overstep, but don’t I get a boon? A blessing? Cosmic perk package? You know—‘thank you for volunteering to fix reality, here’s a coupon.'”
He paused, then added dryly,ob] “I promise I won’t ask for anything unreasonable. Just something that gives me a fighting chance. Or at least makes dying again more interesting.”[/b]
