One thing I should point out is that I recognise pbp is a long format of the game and if people make a decision early in character building that they think may be a mistake, I will work with them to rectify it later provided they don't subsequently choose feats that are reliant on the one they'd now like to change and so on.
Also, I tend to give players a chance in the level up from 1 to 2 to change any aspect of their characters, from ability scores to class and even race. This is a one time thing and it would be good of you did decide to change class for example that you were broadly still I'm the same category, so Corum changing to fighter, bloodrager, even melee druid or ranger. It just helps maintain the Continuity of back story and rp so far.
Have a think whether this applies to you because you will be at that junction soon
Yep. I have changed nothing about this adventure so far save from actually removing two encounters and not having any random encounters that resulted in combat either.
The obituary page for Snows of Summer is quite extensive :/
I don't use XP but the guide actually suggests you shouldn't level up until even further along than this Lodge. However, I will have you level when you clear this place cos it's not going to get easier!
On a serious note, I would have a backup character or two ready for this p as particular book. I'm not a killer GM by ny stretch but this is a pretty deadly scenario as low level Adventure Paths go

Maybe you could allow us more hero points to offset the danger?
It would be annoying to invest time in a character and have them die so early with no hope of bringing them back.
But at the same time we don't want it to be easy :)
I'm enjoying it. Given the amount of combat and the environmental damage, plus our minimal cspacity for healing I'd say we're doing quite well. Getting by by the skin of our teeth but thats 1st level for you.
Yeah. We're doing well. Sapphire, infernal healing is way cool but right now boy could we do with a cleric and all those lovely clw spells!
I would like to congratulate everyone for really getting into the game too. 500 posts since Nov is great. We've got some real momentum going. I'm really enjoying it.
Now if Greyston could shove a large bomb down that fool's throat that would be most welcome. Corum is as weak as a day old kitten (relatively speaking).
BTW J. I may tweak my guy slightly. I'm going archetype at lvl 2 - if I get there - so I want to make sure he's right.

Traveling to Sweden this week. Will be back late on the 30th. If I am out of the loop, please bot me. You have a fair idea of what my character would do...
Sapphire is better off with her Mwk longsword so will pass up the +1 short sword. She'll stick her hand up for the Yeti cloak though, but is happy to pass if someone else wants it.
I will be posting throughout this period. Ironically, because I'll be off work it'll actually be easier for me to keep up to date with games. That being said, it's understandable and expected if the pace slows a little during this time.

That cloak is brilliant - Happy to let it go to Sapphire. I suppose its a good time to talk about how loot is dished out? Will we roll for loot? Priority first? so a ring of protection would go to frontliner with the worst AC?
The only loot i'd really like is a good at the spellbook - i'm not sure if anything in it is on my list though. I'd also take the Mswk thieves tools as i have disable device and they will help a lot! Then i think its best we use 25gold from what we got so i can craft a cure light potion, agreed?
I'd like to wish everyone a happy holiday! i hope you all enjoy.

merry christmas everyone :)
I could use the cloak my fort save isn't great but I'm happy for sapphire to have it , fatigue isn't so bad for me but It's a pain for melee types.
Thanks for the present j, much appreciated.
My level up:
+1bab
+1 fort
Ave hp: 8 (I guess 8 is ave for d12 hd? Plus con gives me 10 additional hp.
Rage power: tbc but probably superstition or I'll go the celestial totem route. Any views?
Taking Invulnerable rager archetype for early damage reduction.
Dr:1
As for tweaking character. I was toying with changing race but then just decided to reduce my cha by 1 to increase str to 18.
Sort skills later but onky 4 points so I might just increase my clsss skills not covered at lvl 1.
1 to the following class skills:
Acrobatics
Craft
Intimidate
Knowledge geography
Rage power:
Superstition.
On rage powers. I'm torn between the beast totem path and the regenerative/self healing ones.
Beast totem uses 3 powers to eventually gain pounce (which looks great) but the others will enable me to self heal and regenerate HP. With Damage reduction I reckon that will enable me to stand toe to toe with almost anything while raging.
I will also go increased DR when I can (lvl 8) and follow the superstitious path by taking Witch hunter and spell sunder.

Yeah 20 point buy so this is my calculation:
Star 16 (10 pts) +2 racial to make 18
Dex 14 (5)
Con 15 (7)
Int 10
Wis 10
Cha 8
22 points in total. I get the extra 2 points for dropping cha to 8.
Will adjust HP accordingly to 24.
Nasrin. Pounce = full attack on a charge which is good. To get it though you need the others. Armour bonus is OK but not a priority and claws feels like a waste of a power.
Hp average 4 +1 con = 12 total
Will +1
Spell study - spontaneously cast any bard/cleric/ Druid spell over 1 rd/spell level. Costs two slots of same level spell or higher.
Leveled with one caveat... before I pass on JZ's kind offer of whiteout liquid for my character sheet, thought I'd better check something.
We're all good with an invisible character losing their invisibility when they attack, and it's recognised that for instance rogues get a single round of sneak attacks in as they break their invisibility. However, being invisible grants you total concealment, my question would be..during the round you break invisibility are you still considered to have total concealment?
I ask because I'm looking at following the Moonlight Stalker feat chain, so it's important to understand when concealment applies and when it doesn't!
We're all good with an invisible character losing their invisibility when they attack, and it's recognised that for instance rogues get a single round of sneak attacks in as they break their invisibility.
Sapphire are you saying that it is your interpretation that a rogue gets a full attack routine benefiting from concealment when breaking invisibility? Because that is not my interpretation unfortunately.
If a rogue is under the effect of invisibility and has multiple attacks. I would rule that the first attack breaks the spell and therefore the second would not benefit from concealment. Am I to take it you don't believe that to be the case?
Nope not my interpretation, I was just paraphrasing the concept and evidently have ended up being too imprecise! The first attack benefiting sounds exactly right, I was just bouncing the idea around to make sure moonlight stalker would apply for that first attack before I went ahead and built towards it!
Yes, it would totally count for that first attack and multiple attacks when greater invisibility is in play. It would also count for all attacks where you were in dim light and the opponent does not have darkvision or other special perception and also when under the effects of some spells such as blur or on the outer edge of a fog cloud.
When you think about it there are actually quite a lot of opportunities to get the benefit, especially for a magus. At first glance I thought it was a little circumstantial but you should be able to get the benefit fairly consistently.

For overnight healing, Nasrin will be able to take 10 on Heal and let everyone get 4 (lvlx2) hp. Thorn will recover 6=hdx2. Rather than using 2 of Nasrin's 3 spells, what other healing do we have available?

Greyston will be taking the curagen alternative class feature - My cure extracts can be taken by anyone then not just me so we'll have 1-2 free cures per day and more as i level up. I can also make 1 cure potion a day for half.. but i'd have to stock up on ingredients when we get back to town.
My level up is all standard - Not going to change anything.
Discovery is precise bombs so i can finally get some direct hits off :P

1 Scroll of endure elements
1 scrolls of magic weapon
1 Scroll of unseen servant
1 scrolls of lesser animate dead
2 x alchemist fire
I will take these if I can, and also I would like to keep the spell book to copy all the spells out of it but that will take time. Especially if anyone else is going to study it.
If no one wants the other scrolls I will keep them or we sell them .
I can duplicate healing spells now in dire circumstances , as it will cost me a lot of spell slots to do it and several rounds.
But it will be a useful fallback if we are in a tight spot.

I should be able to copy all of them, how do you want to manage that j? How long does it take to copy a spell it's an hour plus the time to decipher it I think.
Plus you need to pass the spell craft check.
That's right. Decipher the spell first, easiest with read magic spell, then spend an hour studying it. Make a spellcraft check and if you succeed its done. So an hour per spell basically.
Iirc someone pointed out to me that it's best if a wizard copies spells from scrolls in to their book first, as other classes can usually copy from a wizard's spell book, but vice versa is not necessarily true as wizards etc cannot understand formulas.
I'm happy to pass on the spells and scrolls, they are far better homed with Greyston and Elleross. Also, good plan with the alchemist's fire!

You are right Sapphire - But i assumed wizard/magus could understand formulas of spells they know. But i think it would be best of you or Elleros copy it down and i just cheat off both of your work :P
Messed up with rage power j. To follow the invulnerable and self healing path (making Corum a total melee guy) I can't follow the superstitious path. I'm swapping my 2nd level power for roused anger which allows me to rage while fatigued.
