On the subject of another player: I think we are doing OK as we are but another player may add some interesting dynamic to the group. I'm all for letting another join.
Greyston Fenris |
@GM Niles
Thanks for the compliments it's always nice to hear when people outside of the games reads. As you must have seen my thoughts on you joining im happy with letting someone in but i will follow what the group wants.
(I will remember to post my level up tomorrow)

Elleross Oronar |
Hi Niles, I echo what the others have said.
It's nice to see someone following the adventure and enjoying it.
I don't mind another person joining up either as we lost someone early on who dropped out.
J I will level Elleross up tonight, haven't had time to look at it yet.
Nasrin |
It's all good :) I took Rugged Northerner to mitigate some of the weather issues! Gained one HeroPoint on level up so, back to 3 :)
New Nas is up in profile :)
But I do have to make a new profile for her new companion...
Sapphire |
Hi all :)
Just going to do a loot split prior to us potentially going shopping.
Nasrin did you want to keep that spear of manhunting?
All good either way, just need to know for the party accounts :p
Nasrin |
I don't have to keep the spear. If I did it would be for story reasons. If we could replace it with a +1 Scimi that'd be fine :)
Let's see if anything is available we want to trade it in for.
JZ, what phat lewtz does Waldsby have available?
Corum Mac Roth |
No magic gear. Just a cold iron bardiche, cold iron longsword and masterwork scale armour. Also got a composite shortbow.
Greyston gave me a clw infusion and I have a flask of alchemist fire.
Otherwise standard adventuring stuff like clothes, furs, bedroll and blanket, backpack and beltpouch, whetstone etc. etc.
I've lost track: Have we got much loot to sell then?
Sapphire |
The VAST majority of our loot is gemstones, grand total (excluding the spear) is 2700 gp. Combined with the coinage we've found that's a total of approx 5500 gp to split. Again I suggest we 'tithe' 500gp or so to Greyston for potion making, it's doing a great job of keeping us alive so far! That would leave 1250 gp each, plus the spear to hopefully trade for a scimitar for Nasrin.
That's presuming this ickle village can cope with our mercantile requirements! We'll have to wait and see if their store has anything on its shelves we might want :)
GM-JZ |
Waldsby has a purchase limit of 500gp (75% chance that anything less than 500gp is immediately available.)
In addition, the following items can be found for sale among the various locations:
+2 studded leather,
+1 darkwood quarterstaff,
Masterwork shortbow,
Oil of protection from evil,
Potion of feather step,
Scroll of goodberry;
+1 Arrow Catching light wooden shield,
Belt of Mighty Constitution +2
Corum Mac Roth |
Mmmmm. Bely of mighty con. Yum! Shame I don't have the funds. I won't spend anything here som gonna save my share unless anyone needs to borrow any money for one of yhe pther things there.
Sapphire |
OK, with keeping the spear (we can try and trade it in at the next place for a +1 scimitar Nas...) the total split is 5500 gp
Taking 500 gp off the top for Greyston leaves 5000 gp, so 1000 gp each.
Not quite enough for that belt Corum, sorry :s
Corum Mac Roth |
Not a problem. I have big plans for a furious axe at some point so I am saving my hard earned cash. Beyond potions there may not be mich worth buying here.
What about a wand of clw? Could Elleross use it?
I sure brewing potions for us is limiting Greyston a bit.
Nasrin |
I was gunna help by crafting, but JZ (thankfully) steered me away from a feat that would have made me cry! Cause I would never'a used it!
Nasrin won't be needing too much gear. Eventually Wild Armor, and an Amulet of Mighty Fists :) but for now, just having a magic weapon is fine :)
Corum Mac Roth |
Actually all I want for Christmas is a weapon with both ferocious and courageous enhancements because together they are awesome for barbarians. Prob cost about 14k though so I'm gonna have to save up all my pennies!

Greedy - you've got a magic weapon :p
Corum Mac Roth |
Like!
Markus Valon |
Thanks again Sapphire! for doing the loot i know it can be time consuming.
I don't think i have any need of items just yet (haven't looked into any) But i will get a headband at some point. I will make sure to mark down the 500 gold for potions.
Corum Mac Roth |
You're as slow as your character walking through the snow. Lol!
Elleross Oronar |
I like to incorporate my guys traits into everything.
I'm a consummate roll player.
Not my guys fault he's slow in the snow, nothing to do with his age or bad leg. I blame the shoddy snowshoes he has to wear.
;)
In still toying with feats and spells.
It'll be done by the time we actually rest in game .....hopefully
Sapphire |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Elleross, unless you have pressing need for extra healing, we already set aside a portion of our party funds for potions. Just don;t want you wasting your cash on fizzy drinks from the shop when we already have Greyston's Soda Stream pumping out lovely healing drinks at home :)
Elleross Oronar |
greyston's potions aren't going to be enough for all of us. Until we can get a wand I suggest you all stock up on fizzy drinks .
You can never have enough healing.
Erek Tulmoon |
Good idea. Will buy some potions.
GM-JZ |
Wow, you guys would be no fun at a party....
Elleros is currently the best 'face' in the group with a mighty +1 diplomacy not withstanding that it is not a class skill.
On the basis that you might not want to intimidate/hack/stomp your way through every social encounter in this Adventure Path, do you think it's worth revisiting the idea of recruiting another player?
Corum Mac Roth |
Corum say hack, stomp smash!
I say happy to let someone else join as long as they have a mighty diplomacy check!
GM-JZ |
Oh I know, and that's no problem :) In hindsight, it's my fault.
Perhaps I should have suggested we have all roles covered including social. In my experience the game gets very black and white and "do what I say or I'll kill you" in every social interaction if you don't have at least one diplomatic character to provide some balance. And sure that's fun for a while but this is more of a dark fairytale with some light moments and mystical elements as opposed to a really grim story like Carrion Crown for example.
I can see Greyston and Elleros providing a nice counterpoint to Corum and Nasrin's direct approach, with Sapphire hovering between the two, but they haven't got the mechanical skills to back it up when it comes to actually making checks so I think I'll see if I can recruit another.
Corum Mac Roth |
You've been hanging around with me too long! Lol
Corum Mac Roth |
Hey Sapphire. If we sold all the extra loot from those soldiers, how much coin are we all carrying now?
Elleross Oronar |
Is anyone any good at intimidating?
Tell this troll we have injured men and don't have time to answer his stupid questions,
Say we need to see Radek at once.
I think that was the name mentioned when the servant spoke into the mirror
GM-JZ |
Nasrin, earlier in this book you wanted to take 10 on a knowledge check and I said you couldn't. Seems like I was wrong on that score which I don't necessarily agree with but it's fine going forward so long as you aren't under any kind of duress.
To me, it seems logical that a roll on a knowledge check represents that you may or may not know something about a vast area of expertise such as nature or planes and therefore, depending on the die roll, whether you encountered that particular thing in the course of your study.
But, I think rules-wise I am wrong there, so feel free to take ten whenever you aren't in combat or otherwise under duress.

Just for future reference, his name is Radosek. I think I actually got his name wrong once because Radek is the name of someone in another game I'm playing in :/
Nasrin |
For as long as I have been playing I had always been doing it wrong, and not even thinking about it!
Reach Weapons suffer Cover for intervening targets! :)
No longer do I have to roll my eyes and think, "Reach Fighter, huh? Yeah." Also means no Attacks of Opportunity :) *happy dance*
