Over the past two years, the Find the Path Discord Lodge has been growing and we have welcomed more members into this awesome community you have all have all shaped and fomented. We have currently 1,400 members and have run over 222 PbD games in the last 6 months! That's 900 tables of Society and Non-Society games since this lodge's creation!

With so much growth, it has become necessary for us to up our game and increase our venture officers for this lodge.

I was negligent in paying attention to the changeover to ACP (I never use them), and now I can't for the life of me remember what we're supposed to do with boon slotting. Do we still slot boons? Should GMs still remind players to slot boons after the briefing? Thanks!

The guide indicates that Starfinder still uses Boon Slots. You are still supposed to call for characters to slot their boons.

They are biotech, the Strix Ultralight Wings are the base model.

I see no reason you couldn’t have the armor upgrade Glider Foils also look like wings.

I'd get a jetpack and a Holographic Sashimono to display holographic wings.

Hello Starfinders,
The VO team is starting to gather information for required reporting of Org Play games. Some of this is new for our lodges.

Looking at the Recruitment tab, there have been no posts this month. I know many have been busy with Gameday XI, including the multi-table special, so this is not totally surprising. I do however want to check, does anyone desire assistance to either begin or return to GMing on the Paizo Forums? Please either comment here or contact me (or any other Pbp VO) by PM. We are here to support you and want everyone to be able to enjoy Organized Play.

I'm curious what it is y'all report. I do much of my Society GMing either within the same group or by referral. Sometimes I openly recruit for an extra player or two to fill out a table, but that's the occasional exception. All of my games are Society games and played on these forums, so how would you account for those?

I report my games generally using my own reporting event.

Well if you're asking...I have a 9th level Solarian that is sitting idle. He's my only character to get that high so almost anything available for a 9th level character would work.

I have a 1st level nanocyte and a 3rd level operative who'd love some action.

I have a a variety of higher levels also available.

I think they need to be able to report all-over activity within our Lodge. We all report to our own numbers, which means they have no statistics to send back to Paizo on how robust our region is.

Now... I have a group that was originally recruited here, with several newcomers on it who I enjoyed so much that I have GMed multiple games for them (and one was done for me with the same group by Blazej.)

Reporting quarter would be August to October. Next quarter is November to January.

I don’t know what they expect for Online. As an in person VA, I report number of tables for each system breaking out scenarios, bounties, etc. They also want the number of unique players, number of unique GMs, and number of new players or GMs.

I don’t know how Online is supposed to do that, especially given the number of games that are privately recruited.

Hilary has it correct. We have voiced these concerns already Bret and they completely understand our numbers are going to be best possible guess based on scrubbing the recruitment threads. Our best numbers will come from the Con information as I can easily break that all down.

So, would you like me to send you the details on all games reported August through October? Or maybe provide a survey link where PBP GMs can help you out by reporting their games?

We are still discussing with Jesse what we are going to do moving forward. For now we are just looking for October onward so if you have any of those numbers that were privately recruited then that would be great. (Games by type and nummber of unique players.)

Like I said though our better numbers will come from the Cons, the rest will be guesswork.

I have been dipping my toes for months playing-by-post Starfinder games with pregens. Now I feel like I am wading in the same waters, given that I have the books from the previous Starfinder Humble Bundle and wanna make use of it. I would like to try playing a level 1 bounty or level 1-4 scenario with one of the few characters I built. I hope I am not yet late to join the club. XD

Truly appreciate the effort. As a recent returner-from-hiatus, my experience is that it is overall harder to find a sizeable group of players at the right level. Compared to what I used to experience with the pathfinder tables (recruitment filling up so quick that B and C tables were needed), we seem to have a demand-side (i.e. more GMs that players) rather than a supply -side (too few GMS). Could be just my timing though.

Hey, quick question. Can players running a level 4 pregen apply the credit to first level characters right away with reduced monetary rewards?

I thought I saw someone say you could on the boards recently, but when I checked my SFS players guide, I read it as saying you had to save credit until the PC reached the pregen credit.

Also, in terms of the gaming survey -- that game was a Salvation's End that I ran a few months ago on the Paizo boards. (The players have been very patient, waiting for their chronicles which I plan to finally write this weekend.) They've expressed a preference for applying credit at first level if possible.

We have since rolled into 1-22 The Protectorate Petition which should be finishing 'soon'.

Yes, you can Apply credit for a Pregen to a first level character with reduced rewards.

Pregenerated Characters: Chronicles assigned to a brand new or 1st level characters can be applied immediately to the character at 1st level, or held until the level of the pregen. Chronicles assigned to characters of a level higher than 1st level, must be held to the level of the Pregen.

Pregen chronicles applyed to 1st level characters gain the following limitations:
Award Treasure Bundles/Gold as if the earning character was 1st level.
Characters do not benefit from any boons or item unlocks until the character reaches the minimum Chronicle level
Downtime applies as to the 1st level character the chronicle is applied to.

I'd like to see this happen so more people here can play this wonderful special.

According to Alex's official Organized Play Twitter, all games playing over the MLK weekend get an extra Hero Point for each player. Jenny J's twitter confirmed that this was Starfinder Players as well.

So everyone gets an extra reroll if your games have been playing over the course of this weekend.

I have been honored and enjoyed being the Venture-Captain of the PbP Community for the last 3.5 years and I could not have asked for a better crew of online Venture Officers to volunteer my time with.

I will be stepping down as Venture-Captain effective 31 January 2023, though I will still be around to make sure we do a good left seat / right seat.

My goal while as VC was to maintain what Hmm and Jesse had built and continue to shape and grow the community. We expanded into new Lodges such as Cayden’s Keg and Find the Path Discord servers. These grew far bigger than expected. So much so that we had to bring on a second VA into one of the Lodges just to handle it all. We were able to participate in PaizoCon, which is considered a Premier+ Event in terms of additional AcP and awards, which Play-by-post never had a chance at before.

The great news is that one of those VO’s I have had the opportunity of working with has volunteered to step up into the role. Please welcome Bigrin42 (Bigrin42#2231) as our newest Venture-Captain. Bigrin has done a lot of work for us already running a good portion of the Discord Community and I suspect this transition to be quite seamless. The online tea has always been a cooperative effort and shared decision-making process among many, many hands.

You all will not be losing me, I will still be around running games and playing in the same as I am now. I will just be transitioning roles and like Hmm continue to advocate for online play and the greatest PbP community out there.

It has been great watching this community grow to what it is today, and you've certainly overseen it moving in new and amazing directions. I remember when people gasped loudly at us having PbP Community multi-tables, now we're in PaizoCon.

Hi, everyone. I have an important announcement and request for all our GMs.

Campaign Leadership has asked us to give them numbers regularly about how many games are being played in our lodges. It’s important these numbers be as accurate as possible. As a way to gather this information, we are requesting that all GMs of games recruited from this lodge, unless they are convention games, fill out our brief form at the same time as they report the game to Paizo.

The form can be found here.

A few important points:
-If you post to this lodge looking for players, your game counts as from this lodge. A game counts as recruited from this lodge if it’s a continuation of a game that originally recruited here. Thus, groups playing through a series of scenarios or a long module do count.
-Convention games should not fill out this form. Instead, they should be reported as convention organizers instruct.
-This form is in addition to reporting to Paizo, not instead of it.
-Please be prompt about filling out this form. It needs to be done at the same time you report to Paizo. Don’t make us do more than ask nicely, please!

We need our data to start with January 1 of this year, so please do fill out our form for any games from this lodge you’ve already reported to Paizo this year! Please fill out the form for any previous games within the next week.
