Could you please add the link to the Play by Post Lodges and Guides slide deck and the campaign information?
That way it would be much easier to find.
It's already added here at Castamir. Over the next few days, it should get added to the other lodges, too.

Spacefarer Redelia |

Thank you so much to all the GMs who have already filled out the form!
I think there are a few things I need to point out or explain, based on what has been said in the lodges and the tracking forms so far.
-We can't use games that happened before Jan 1 of this year.
-Games that you recruit entirely by PM or similar ways don't count as recruited from this lodge. Games that were recruited by 'hey, that was fun, how about another' in the threads of a game that was recruited from here still count as recruited from here. If you're not sure if a game counts as recruited from the lodge, please ask. You can post in the lodge discussion thread or you can contact a PbP VO to help.
In case anyone is curious, we have about 20 games in the tracker (this is all three lodges together).

Hi, everyone. I just wanted to make sure everyone saw the Announcement of Year 6 blog. It includes some good news that several new races will become available.

Any word on where I can find some Play-by-Post APs?
In my experience, Play by Post APs are much more likely to make it when they are built from the ground up, which is to say the players and GM form organically through other play. Even three book APs can be a big commitment. If you're looking to go that route, I'd find some people you've played and have had good chemistry with to band together and try to get one off the ground. Now, overtly recruited ones DO exist, and I'd look here for those.

LOL. I've done exactly that with Return of the Runelords. Currently GMing Book Two. But I'll keep my eye out here for any Starfinder AP recruitment.

I wonder if you fine folks could give me some advice. The next SFS scenario I'm looking to play or run is # 2-14, Data Purge. It's a Tier 9-12, and there's only three of us in my local group that have characters of that level. Because the Iconics only go up to Level 8, we don't have a way to fill the fourth spot (we have some other players, but they're pretty new and only have PCs in the level 1 or 2 range.) I don't suppose it'd be possible to have the players without high enough level characters play Level 8 pre-gens for no credit just to round out the table (assuming everyone with PCs in the range knew and agreed it'd be a touch harder than it should be)?
I would normally just run the game here via PBP, but I've noticed some difficulty getting tables to fire in the past year, and the inability to run pre-gens would exacerbate the problem.
Happy to take any ideas on board. Thanks!

GM bigboom |

Per the organized play guide, you can dive in with three players for a kind of a hard mode experience. Given this, I would imagine it be okay if someone wanted to jump in with a level 8 pregen for no credit.

![]() |

I find that High level PBP fills pretty easily. There's so many of us on the forums with higher level characters that we so rarely get to play, and as you point out local F2F high-tier games can be challenging to pull off.
I've been running high tier SFS for a while now and every time someone drops or can't play due to having already played it, I get more players interested in filling the seat than I can take.

As Bigboom indicated, the guide says:
Adventures with a minimum level of 9 or higher: can be run with only 3 players, but only if all players at the table agree. While we expect this “hard mode” playthrough experience to be satisfying, we want to caution you that, as the adventures are designed for a minimum of four players, they will be more difficult than normal. It goes on to allow someone to replay for no credit to make a table feasible. Unfortunately, as Redelia mentioned, the idea of using the lower level pregens is not covered, thus is not currently allowed. This is something we could take to the leadership team for consideration.
If your group enjoys PbP, I agree that posting it here to try to recruit one or more players is a good idea. If it doesn't work out, then you have the 3 player option.

Unfortunately, as Redelia mentioned above, the rules don't allow for bringing in out of level characters. The section in the guide about Legal Table size shows how to deal with only 3 players at a 9+ scenario.

In the future, there may be pregens at the higher levels, but currently there is no way to allow someone to "sit in" on a table with a minimum level of 9+.
That said, if you play/run in PBP or VTT you'll open the field up to a much broader pool of players than just your local group, and I doubt you'll have much trouble finding enough to fill the table.

I'm making a list of the scenarios with the Nova tag so I know which ones to GM that make up the ten prerequistics for the 5th Nova.
So far I've got:
1-99 The Scoured Stars Invasion
1-39 The Herald's War (which I've done but this one may be cycled out)
2-00 Fate of the Scoured God
2-24 Cornered Rat
3-00 The Last Bite
3-20 Fleeting Truth: Everchanging Revelation
3-99 Perils of the Past
4-09 Through Sea and Storm
4-99 A Time of Crisis
5-10 Shadow of the Vault Lord
5-15 Beta Test
5-99 Battle for the Bulwark
6-04 Secrets Long Submerged
Have I missed any or included one that's doesn't have the Nova tag?

Should outpost games also be entered in the data tracking form if they have been mentioned here?

Cross-posting from the Outpost Announcement thread in case anyone missed it:
Closing Weekend!
Okay GMs, this is the closing weekend for Outpost. Most of you have already wrapped up your games and reported by now (great job, by the way), but we still have about 30 games still going. Please wrap these up as soon as possible so your players can get ready for the next adventure.Even if it looks like you won’t finish the gameplay by May 15 we are asking you to go ahead and report your games by the deadline so that we can finish up the admin stuff and close out the convention before Paizocon. Please help us by getting these last few games reported. Thanks again for stepping up to run games. It is greatly appreciated!
:)

For sanctioned content like bounties, Free RPG Day adventures like Skitter Warp, and one-shots like System Takedown, do the two-player minimum rule of regular Society play apply? I've been running or playing these "just for fun" with one other player, and I'm not sure if that counts for SFS purposes or not.

Guys! Hurry hurry! There's only a couple more days to sign up!
Sign-up is frozen on May 22nd, so you'd want to sign up before then.

DoubleGold |

In the discord chat, they said you can sign up for games up to an hour prior to the game. I think they freeze sign-ups on the 22nd, so Paizo can delete games that have 1 to 0 signups. So from my understanding, frozen sign-up is temporarily, and then once Paizo has deleted the necessary games and other edits on that day, they let you sign up again or retract your sign-up.

DM Kludde |

That makes sense. I am just worried that a couple of cool games won't fire, especially Mike Bramnik's (author) table of Ghost level delve.

I believe they said they won't cull pbp games. They start after the rest of the con and apparently get a lot of last-minute signups.
Correct. Per Tyranius on the discord channel for PBP: "As of right now the PbP tables are not being culled as we have a lot of players join at the last moment after the Live Con portion."

*BLINKS*
Just finishing our PbP game that started in August 2020.
We started with 3 groups moving through the Frozen Ambitions series, we weaved our way through some additional scenarios, then the 'last group standing' have now pushed through to the end of Vast Experiment, now having finished the Dancing at the Edge capstone.
Was a really great group too, an when I look back at all the players who dropped in and out - picking up cameo appearances here and there - it's a real whos who of the Flax PbP community.
Coming in at just under 3 years it has been a steady run of scenarios - could have done an AP in that time, but I reckon this was more fun :)

![]() |

Wow, well done!
PBP does take time. I finished playing a five/six year run of Shackled City last year - amazing how long some groups can stick together for.
Takes a really dedicated GM to make it work.

It was an honor serving with you, Sir!
Even though the final mission of Chorizal's Chosen did not end in the resounding victory we would have liked, it was a spectacular run and an excellent way to get to know and explore both my own character and the other players' characters.
Chorizal is 7th level and I think all but 2 or 3 of his chronicle sheets have your name on them.
Thanks for including me and doing such an ambitious run.
It hardly felt like 3 years at all.

Hey all, I have some bad news.
A lot of you know, have played with or had RVC Jack Brown (Silbeg) as a GM. He recently underwent open heart surgery. While recovering he suffered from a hemorrhagic stroke.
More details are in the links below but Jack has been a staple to our online and in person community. Please offer up some kind words or encouragement and any donations to help his family out in their difficult time of need.
We have a few local folks from the RPG Community visiting him each day and reading your kind words to him. He can definitely use it right now.

Copied over from the Gameday XII Announcement Thread:
Okay folks, it has been a week now and lots of GMs are starting to register games. We want to give everyone a chance to see what is being run (both GMs and players), so here is the link to the event listing.
More games will be added every few games as GMs register their tables. Remember that no signups will be allowed before the August 7 date (and anyone that manages to add themselves as a player before will will be deleted).
:D

I am hoping to recruit a back up GM for the Forums for SFS 5-99, the multi-table special, for Gameday XII.
If you are interested, please PM me.
You need to be familiar with running PbP on the Forums, be familiar with SFS rules and comfortable with levels 1-8, enough to at least be able to cover a table for a short while if needed.
Hopefully all will be quiet and uneventful, but if we don't have a back up in place, you know it won't be.
Thank you to all who read and consider this.

Gameday XII General Seating now open!
General seating is now open for all players. While there is no limit to the number of games you can sign up for, we do ask that everyone do their best not to overcommit. We also would ask that you not sign up for tons of games at the very beginning, to give everyone the chance to find a seat at a table. Sign up for a few, then wait a day or two to give others the chance.
Remember that the 1 game per character rule still applies to PBP games, so no signing up to play in multiple games with the same character.

A while back Paizo announced it would be looking into getting new forums since this could have a big impact on Play by Post. Not sure where the best place to post this is so here's a link to the posts made so far.
I missed this announcement. Any idea what the timelines are? I might have to start archiving some past favourite posts.

There is good reason to hope that all the content of our PbP games will carry over to the new website. I can't get into all the details because of where the discussions are going on, but I am doing what I can to advocate for this. I would really hate to lose all our history, and all the stories we've told together over the years, and I'll do what I can to make sure those who make decisions understand that.
