On an unrelated note, I think "bookkeeper"/"bookkeeping" are the only English words that have a sequence of three consecutive double-letter sets.

For my own ease, and the ease of the other players, I thought it'd be easiest to compile all of the submissions into one place. 1) Haji, LG Half-Elf Paladin/Inquisitor 2) Cathyriel, NG Half-Elf Cleric 3) Brognan, N Elf Wizard/Pathfinder Savant 4) Ionus, LG Human Cleric/Hellknight Signifer 5) Saeros, NG Elf Oracle 6) Calamity, N Halfling Hedge Witch 7) Varloo, N Skinwalker Cleric/Sorcerer 8) Delavandis, N Human Cleric I'm pretty sure that's everyone who has submitted a mostly/fully completed build. Seems like we definitely have our work cut out for us here, especially with recruitment up for only four days! Brainiac, Do you want us to give our feedback on our favorite submissions as we did when Terana joined up?

The dwarf looks up and over to Corynne, not without skepticism. "The oil is in pain? Oy. That is new one on Az. If machine fluids start growing feelings, is not good for me. Or Miselle. Or entire bedrock of modern Risuri civilization." he comments; it's difficult to tell if he's serious or just really, really good at a deadpan delivery.

A DC 10 Stealth check shouldn't be THAT hard to beat. We're a DEX based group, too, so would it be that big of a risk to try and slip away? We have time to try and make it one at a time if that's how we'd decide to do it.

The dwarf gives his teammate a very slight nod of agreement. "Your carriage goons should see to your man. Better that he lose just the leg instead of his life." he says almost casually as he begins the process of reloading his musket. Without looking at his admirer, he continues,"Do not show concern. Az is reloading from habit. He is no beardless youth, he knows when resistance would only mean quick death." he states, turning to head into the indicated theater.

The dwarf keeps an eye trained on the rooftop figure and his ears on the conversation...he can only picture in his mind's eye what Alice's expression is, but he's seen enough of her to have practically felt her eye-roll, and the corner of his mouth ticks up slightly at her...un-amusement.

"All the more reason to make sure my drawing is as accurate as I can make it be!" he says in answer to Perrell. "Let's hope that the first colony has been successful in getting the basics set up for those who would follow. A safe, reliable water supply, some kind of food source, access to construction supplies...Was there any method of communicating with them set up? Or were they completely on their own? Regardless, I suppose we'll be seeing for ourselves very shortly..." he says, staring intently at the island, committing the features of it to memory as much as he is able. Every few moments he shuts his eyes, picturing it in his mind's eye, then opens them to make any minor corrections or updates that are needed to the image he has of the island's features.

Overhearing the debate amongst a few other of the crew on deck about the beverage choices on board, Gideon spoke up. "Y'know, if you were sick of the grog, you could've always used the kitchens below deck as a distillery. Boil some water to get the salt out and kill contaminants, then let the steam condense back into distilled water. Perhaps time consuming, but certainly workable. Did it several times myself. Personally I'd much rather have tepid water than watered-down rum."

Gideon quirks a smile, shaking his head as he walks to the edge of the railing on the deck. "Well...I figured it was close enough. I've been too busy trying to memorize the island to notice the position of the sun. I'm going to try and make a sketch in my journal once we've made landfall...too much unpredictable motion on the sea to get a good drawing done."

Gideon stands on the deck of the ship himself, the motion of the Peregrine on the water an old familiar feeling. Ancorato was close now...close enough to make out the features of the landscape. He traced the courses of the rivers with his eyes, mentally drawing a map of the terrain while wishing the rocking of the ship would've let him draw an actual map as they went while the drawing was good. He would have to do his best to commit the image to memory right now for putting in his journal later. For the umpteenth time since the voyage began, he inventoried the supplies in his backpack, making sure that everything was still in it, where he had last placed it. After correcting the minor shifting that the sea voyage wrought, he pulled it back onto his shoulders and settled back against the railing, watching the island grow nearer and nearer. Ever since he had gotten word of his acceptance into the expedition, he had dreamed of this...all his exploring of the Inner Sea, his voyages across land, river, and sea, all of it had prepared him for the adventure he was now embarking on. His heart swelled with anxious excitement, such that he couldn't any longer stand to just be still, watching the ship close on the island. He pushed off the rail and went in search of a familiar name he'd seen on the passenger manifest: Perrell Beys, a woman who worked for the Company and someone he had reported to in the past on a couple or three discoveries of historical worth. After a few minutes of searching, he spotted his colleague and raised his hand to call out a greeting to her. "Perrell! Good afternoon!"

This is Phillip0614, posting from the alias of my submission, Gideon Derexhi. Fluff for the build is completed but I wanted to ask how you're generating HP for levels 2-4 and also if you've a preference for how much a single piece of gear is worth in that 6,000. I'm not wanting to spend all of it on a single item, of course, just wanna make sure I don't accidentally spend too much on something. I'll be able to finish the crunch once I've done gear and HP. Thank you!
Here is Phillip0614's official character submission, DM Jesse. I think I've got everything right as far as the crunch goes; please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for your consideration! On an unrelated note, if you ever need another replacement character in your Jade Regent game, I've got a human two-handed fighter that also needs a home! The alias is here.

HP: 14/19. Songan gives a loud yowl of pain when the arrow pierces his leg, and he glares at the tower across the way. With his higher vantage, he is quite possibly the only one of the group aware of the new threat posed by the larger half-orc with the double axe. Though his leg screams at him to seek vengeance for the assault upon it, he turns his bow to what he perceives as the larger threat against the group as a whole, the last bit of his "luckish" feeling used as he nocks arrow to string and lets fly! For the next two days, Cyrus spends most of his time with his new companion, certain never to leave the animal's side. Even after being healed completely, it seems like some of the damage from the attack by the wargs is beyond the ability of the party to heal, as he still walks with a noticeable limp, slower than he might otherwise be. It was likely something that was just going to have to heal on its own, since they wouldn't be able to afford any kind of stronger magic of regeneration. He takes great care in choosing a name for their new companion, wanting to be certain that their new friend will be called something that is worthy of a beast so magnificent. Even without a name, though, he begins training him, using small berries and other bits of flora that he finds along the trailsides as training aides. Of course, it is no easy task, but Cyrus takes to the megafauna very quickly and the affection seems to be returned in kind. It almost seems as if the gods themselves arranged the meeting of the two. Some of the tricks are not necessarily terribly difficult; after all, with he, Nadya, and Natasza present, it could be seen to in such a way as to be sure it stuck relatively quickly. Of course, teaching him to "Stay" was not quite the same thing as teaching him to be ridden, and after the first and second unsuccessful attempts at mounting the beast, it was clear that more training was going to be needed. But...hopefully soon. He seems to grow quickly fond of not just Cyrus, but the others as well, displaying a particular affection for Nadya that has Cyrus inwardly concerned that, if his new friend can so quickly discern his particular attachments, they are more-or-less slapping the others in the face. Not that he was ever much for subtlety in the first place... On the morning of the second day, Cyrus awakes with a name in his mind, his very own Eureka! moment, and he dubs the elk "Duneyrr," a name that, when loosely translated into its tongue of origin, means "Thundering in the Ear." When they finally come in sight of the lake, Cyrus gives a low whistle, and he remarks offhandedly that he can't recall ever seeing an inland body of water as big as that. At first, Cyrus is glad to see the well-built structure allowing them to cross...until he sees the skulls impaled on the spikes, turned as if to stare at them. Duneyrr stamps his hoof in the ground, snorting quietly, and Cyrus pats him on the side. "Yeah, yeah...I know, bud. Kinda creeps me out, too. This a pretty common thing to see in these parts, Nadya?"

The sign wasn't conjured where the group is, it was conjured way back where the healers were stationed, 100' or so feet away from where the group presently is. Also, HA! to the holo-ad reference! Songan nods silently in response to the priest's request for assistance; now that Sara is conscious and able to move on her own power, getting her back to more active healing should be a much easier task. "Give us some cover, everyone. Won't do us any good if we get shot in the back getting Sara back." Songan states, standing up beneath Sara and letting her lean on him as he gets ready to escort her back to the line.

Just wanted to pop into the discussion thread and let you guys know that I'm back for right now; hopefully there won't be a time when I'm gone again for so long. I'm about to be going on vacation with some of my family so there may be some times when I can't post, but I shouldn't be gone for days on end like I was this time. Just to give everyone an update on the situation, all the legal stuff is pretty much handled now. I filed for the divorce and have a court date set, which my wife is probably not even going to come to. With all the paperwork filed and everything more-or-less settled I should be back on track to keep up with the AP again. Let me again express my gratitude to Darkblade, and everyone else, for being patient with me as I got all this stuff taken care of. If anything else comes up, I'll definitely let y'all know, but I'm hoping nothing else is going to spring up that knocks me for a loop the way I have been.

So out of pure, distilled curiosity, I went back and checked all of Sugua's d20 rolls thus far in the campaign. If my count is accurate, then out of 63-65 d20 rolls, he's rolled below ten a grand total of....eight times. I move forward operating on the theory that it isn't that the RNG hates us for the sake of hating us, but that Sugua is sleeping with it and has been whispering negative things about other party members in its' ear.
I have a question about the fight with the arctic tatzlwyrm. Under "Tactics" in the tatzlwyrm's stat block, it states that it pounces and rakes before grappling. Pouncing requires charging, which requires at least ten feet of movement. However, this fight takes place in a deep snowdrift, which counts as difficult terrain. Nimble Moves doesn't let the tatzlwyrm ignore more than 5 feet of difficult terrain, though, so what allows it to charge in this situation when normally you can't charge through difficult terrain?
He was one of several prominent interviewees on the documentary Reclaiming the Blade, an excellent look at the history of the sword. There's a good focus on European swordarts, which I found very interesting, since so many people who haven't really looked into it are obsessed with Japanese or East Asian swordsmiths. It's available for instant view on Netflix if anyone's interested in watching.
