Quick question DM: Is the bonus to a skill "additional ranks" in the skill? or just like an untyped bonus? I'm really wondering if it could apply to a skill to help me meet prerequisites for a Prestige Class or not.

Aladir, before you buy Cure potions, there are several in the party loot. There is also one more potion of invis, I believe.

Everyone please read up on the MASS COMBAT rules from Ultimate Campaign.

In Chapter 2, which you will start with my next two posts, you are given an army of paladins and there are several occasions that we will be using these rules, IF youse folks agree to using them.

I would like to have a consensus on using them, but I'll take a 3-2 vote either way. If you do choose to use the mass combat rules, I would like one PC to be the commander of the army. There will be a few other options, but it would be better in my opinion that a PC be the person in charge.

The WotR game I was in before used the mass combat rules and they weren't really that bad, so I'd be alright with using them. If that's the way the vote goes I would suggest either Quinn or Ezro as the commander; It seems likely be the biggest influencer of an army's morale and Quinn fits that role nicely. Not to mention him being a paladin and all.

Ezro and I have played through Kingmaker, where this subsystem was introduced. I am okay with using the mass combat rules. However if you feel that it will drag down the campaign, I am also okay with having this cut. I would also support either Ezro or Quinn as commander.

I would be happy to have Ezro as commander, especially if he wants to do so as a roleplay/character choice. Otherwise, Quinn would be happy to fill the role.

EDIT: A quick amendment... I would be happy for anyone to be commander, if they felt like it was a direction they really wanted to go with their character!

Okay, I have figured out how much each spellbook sells for.

Millron: with 20 0-level spells (5*20), 7 1-level spells (7*10), and 4 2-level (4*40) spells comes out to: 290/2= 145

Library: with 1 1-level spell (1*10) , 1 2-level spell (1*40), 2 3-level spells (2*90), and 1 5-level spell (1*250) comes out to: 480/2= 240

Formulae: with 3 1-level spells (1*10), 5 2-level spells (5*40) comes out to: 170/2= 85

145+240+85= 470/5 = 94 gp each!

edit: Also Quinn I have claimed the 9 +1 crossbow bolts from party loot. Feel free to remove them. Thanks!

There are five mass combat battles, although I may drop one or two of them if it gets tedious.

So far it looks like Ezro or Quinn will be "the commander", which mostly means you get to do the dice rolls for your army and direct them.

However, the guy playing Quinn doesn't feel strongly about it one way or another. And he does realize that Quinn already has a prominent role in regular combat.

So, if you want it, please take it.

I don't personally want it, and Ezro can take it or leave it. From a meta gaming standpoint, Quinn would be the best for it was well, as you have a high charisma.

So, interesting note: For the last several levels, I have been building Quinn towards taking a Prestige Class probably around level 9... and I just now realized he can't qualify for it because of archetype changes to class features.

(Of course, I only noticed this right after I realized that the PrC was from an AP deity write-up on Iomedae, and wasn't open source on the PRD.)

@Quinn - As leader of the army of Paladins, because you are mythic, you get a boon:
Mythic Commanders
If one of the PCs serves as the commander of the Knights of Kenabres, his command of the army is such that he can use his surge mythic ability to adjust Offense checks and Morale checks. A commander can expend two uses of mythic power to increase his army’s DV by the result of a surge die for one battle.

With Horgus, the army consumption is reduced by 2.

Aravashnial grants the army Spellbreaker as a bonus tactic, increasing the army’s DV by 4 against armies with the spellcasting ability.

Anevia scouting allows the PCs’ army to always gain battlefield advantage, increasing its OM and DC by 2.

Aron, Nurah and Sosiel bonus are already included in the stats that I gave before.

Question, DM Papa: The fleet charge ability states that it allows you to use a swift action to move up to your speed, making an attack (ranged or melee) at any point in that movement.

Using this ability, would it be possible to pull of a maneuver like fire off an arrow, then use Fleet Charge to move, draw a melee weapon during that movement, and attack with the melee weapon at the conclusion of the swift action?

From personal experience, I believe it does. Some of the mythic abilities get a little crazy. You can also do the Fleet Charge, then full attack.

As Ezro says, mythic gets a little (a lot!) crazy.

Apparently I forgot to update Aladir's by-line stats, except for the level count, at the last look-over. My bad! The stat-block on the profile and by-line should be correct now, but here are the changes I noted:

Max HP: +5
AC: 19/15/14
Initiative: +5
Perception: +14 (+3 vs traps)

Also, I want to go ahead and make everyone aware that my posting is going to stop/drop off significantly for a time at the end of the month; a malignant brain tumor that I had surgically removed in April of 2013 has recurred enough to warrant a second surgical removal which will take place place on October 28th. If the first round of this is a reasonable enough indicator, I probably won't be here at all for at least a week afterward and it will take two or three weeks for me to recover enough that I will be able to consistently post again.

Any of you who are praying people, your prayers would be greatly appreciated. If this stupid cancer wants a go at round two, I'll just have to put in its place again!
